View Full Version : Lost all signs, phone doesn't turn on anymore(even on wall charger). Is it bricked??

Folks,
I was flashing CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE and the battery went down. The flashing procedure stopped at 85%.

After this incident I could not turn on the phone again. It spent all night recharging and nothing.

What should I do?

Did you charge it over night with the wall charger or with the sync cable? If Windows doesn't recognize the phone, as it might not since you were in the middle of flashing, it may not provide a charge through the sync cable. You might have just thought you were charging it but you weren't.

I was charging with the wall charger, and nothing happens at all (no lights, no bootloader)

Did I brick the phone?

Is there a way to brick the phone while flashing this rom and losing battery power or it's not bricked?

Try pulling your battery for 10 min or so and then put it back in. Phones don't usually get bricked by getting interupted in the middle of a flash. If they did, there would be a lot more people around here with bricked phones because I've see a whole lot of threads in here with people saying they got interupted in the middle of a flash. I don't think you should start worrying about that quite yet.

So I'm taking off the battery for a while, let's see what happens...

I can't see any signal even if the battery is out, and the wall charger is plugged anyway.

I've pull off the battery for about 20 minutes (battery was in refrigerator at this time) and nothing happened.

Is there anything else to do?

(ps:I'm not using the original wall charger...)

Edit:
Now I'm trying to do this below:

OK here's the solution.

First of all, be aware that the MDA can NOT charge unless the OS is fully loaded. If for whatever reason your battery gets fully depleted, you have to do the following (it involves ruining a 5 $ cable and doing some surgery):
- first, go out and buy a new USB-to-mini-USB cable, unless you have 2 already (or one and the original charger)
- take out the battery
- take the USB-to-mini-USB cable, cut off the mini-USB plug and expose the four wires
- strip the red (+) and black (-) wire and twist the copper ends of each wire
- now CAREFULLY attach the right wire to the right connector on the battery (so + on + and - on -) and tape it there so it stays firmly on
- put the cable in your (running) PC or put the charger in the wall socket
- let the battery recharge for an hour or so, then put it back in the Wizard and reboot
- now when it is fully rebooted, you need the second cable to charge your Wizard completely, the way you're used to.

Worked for me! I've kept the ruined cable, just in case it happens again.

Good luck!

Hope that works/worked for you, let me know if it does.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Do you have access to a volt meter? If you do, check and see if you get any voltage on the battery at all. Maybe your battery is shot. Theres no reason for your phone to be bricked so I wouldn't give up just yet.

Theres also another trick that someone else having a similar problem in another post reminded me of to jump start your battery. It involves a 9v battery and a couple of wires (bread ties will work if you don't have any wires laying around). It's pretty much the same thing as the charger thing to an extent. You take the 9v battery and attach the wires(bread ties) from the - to the minus on your cell battery and + to + but only do that for 10 seconds and then remove them, wait 30 seconds and then do it again for 10 seconds. Repeat that 10 times and then put the battery back in to the phone and connect the charger. If that doesn't jump start it your battery might be gone for good.

Thanx, I'll try it too.

Maybe tomorrow I'll have access to a second battery with a friend of mine.(fully charged and working battery)

Do you know why is the phone not showing any lights? Is there any explanation (for the case it's not bricked)?

If the battery is completely drained it won't take a charge (this is actually a well known issue with wizards) the charge lights won't come on because they are actually taking their current straight from the battery.

I think the phone is really dead now.

Iīve put my friendīs battery in my phone and nothing happened. (no signs)

My battery worked with my friend's phone too...

What are the solutions now? A new motherboard?

I've just reread your initial post and i think you're both guilty and unlucky. Guilty for acknowledging the RUU warning about using a charged battery (check boxes) and unlucky because the flashing might have stopped while writing to the IPL zone.

So i do think that new board is the only solution here. Sorry.
