This may seem like a funny question...
But would there happen to be any chargers JUST for the battery? I have a feeling that the usb port in the phone is broken, and I just purchased a new battery. So, I would have no way to charger the battery, nor use the phone...therefore if I could find a battery charger I would be all set. OR, are there any broken/cheap mda's out there that only function to charge the battery(i.e broken screen/speaker/etc)

What do you mean you have a feeling the USB port is broken? You should know this when it's time for a charge. If your device is stll under warranty, try to get a replacement. Since the 8125 is no longer available, you may be able to get a 8525. The same thing happened to me, and I got a replacement after talking to a Cingular rep.

I'm assuming you have a 8125 since this is the Wizard forum, and you did not state what type of device in your thread...

Yes, there are chargers that you can get just for the battery, just check out ebay and I'm sure you'll find a few of them. You might also try your local phone store if it's a decent one that carrys lots of accessories, you might be able to find one there.

I have a tmobile MDA. The phone is out of warranty, and therefore I can't get a replacement. Unless I want to pay for it. The phone is completely dead, to the point where it will no longer turn on. I have read that once the battery is below a critical level, it will no longer accept a charge. I've also read that I would have to give it a small boost via a cut USB cord, to get it above that critical level.

I'm assuming the usb port is dead due to the fact that the orange light no longer turns on. This could be due to the battery being so low, OR the usb port is defective and not accepting a charge.

I'll certainly check ebay for a battery charger. Anything specific I should look for?

Based on what you're saying here, a battery only charger won't help. Where if you can remember did you read that a battery can't be recharged after reaching a critical level? I have read where it's good to periodically drain the battery for extended battery life. The orange light is just the charging indicator, and the battery itself has nothing to do with it. You can plug in the charging port without a battery, and a working device wil show an orange charging light. Your charging port has lost connection inside. Did you drop or abuse your device? Either stock up on batteries, get another device, or have the one you have now repaired.

I'll look and see if I can't find one on there for you and post a link. If I remember right, just searching for t-mobile mda should get you a few of them although you may have to search through a few pages to find one.

Here's one that I just found that has both a sync charger and a spare battery charger(what you're looking for) - http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-AC-BATTERY-CHARGER-CRADLE-FOR-T-MOBILE-MDA-PHONE_W0QQitemZ230158713058QQihZ013QQcategoryZ1464 35QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I know I've seen them that are just a spare battery charger without the sync and they were a lot cheaper but I didn't see any of them listed. I only went through a couple of pages though so I'm sure if you look a little harder than I did you can find them.

I found one on ebay. But I was able to jump start the battery w/ a cut USB cord, and now it's working fine.

Oh, I just read your post saying that your battery was completely dead. I can help you fix that one without cutting up a charger. All you need is a 9v battery and a couple of wires (wire bread ties will work if you don't have any wire handy).

Remove your battery from your phone and connect the 9v battery to it + to + and - to - for 10 seconds, disconnect it for 30 seconds and then repeat the process for a total of 10 times (connect fo 10 secs, disconnect for 30 secs). Then put the battery back in the phone and connect it to the charger again and charge it until it's full and then you should be good after that.

This method worked for me last week, I had the exact same issue and found the same fix somewhere on this forum, Great advice!
