V4 is a good ROM but really dont use the touchFLO cube at all in my daily use of the fone, is there a way to delete it from the device? Is it just as simple as deleting the touchflo cab?

Also, I know its been mentioned, but the auto vibrate mode bug has reappeared in my device using this rom. Hope that gets solved.

I have BB v4.0 on my Artemis now and DO NOT use the cube at all, can I just uninstall the cab and it will be gone? Thats my question for you, how to get rid of TouchFLO in BB v4 if you don't want it!

Sorry but can't remove Touch Flo in v4.0.
U can disable it but can't remove it if want Removed it need Cook Rom.

Disable Scrolll and Cube:

I have succefully updated my Artemis to version 4 of Tom's ROM.

The whole point of TOUCH flow is that you use your FINGER to swipe, not the pointing stick....

It is great rom no doubt about it.
Only problem here is,that sometimes after soft-reset it hangs at boot screen and can not get out it.
Only solution then is hard-reset.....:(

It also looks that I am being charged for using the internet. Even when I got a web 'n walk subscription for 9,50 each month. I shouldn't get charged for downloading MB's :eek:

sure it has been changed ? I just (for a minute) got confused myself: the IMEI on the system info is 17 digits, the one on the label is 15

And I too have web&walk, everything is "charged" at 0.00£ today (massive record as I do sync with Exchange, not my problem if T-Mobile add one record per sync)

I agree with the above post. We could start another thread dedicated to V4 cab's and fixes. It will help a lot of people patching their device with V4 updates and avoid redundant questions. A service pack/minor version release after most of the bugs are ruled is a good idea too

good news... the problem with Auto Profiles seems to be gone. :)
but... the HTC Home-Plugin isn't visible anymore. :eek: there is an empty area in size of the Home-Plugin. I don't now what to do...

I've extracted all files except the .pngs from the HTC.Kaiser.Home.Eng.0409.5Tab.schen.N2A_WeatherPat ched.cab and put them into windows-dir. Nothing happend. I only got a blank area on my todayscreen. I'm very confused...

Firstly TOM, thanks very much for 4.0_touchflo. I have flashed my LOVE, and once I get used to the Touchflo stuff I will be in hog heaven I think. Great job.

Just a couple of things that I can't seem to get right:

1. I only have 5 HTC Home tabs rather than 6 - Home, Contact, Weather, Apps and Music Player - no ring profiles tab. I have dl'd and run HTC.Kaizer.Home.Plugin.with.Tabsetting.schen.cab, but no joy. Am I missing a settings screen or something? I was previously using JUVS_HTC_Home_Color.cab (nicer icons IMHO), but it seems to have the same issue under 4.0. To be honest I could live without the weather or music tab, but the ring profiles is one I really do use.

2. These doesn't seem to be a .reg file association on my PDA for putting in the reg change to make PocketCM the default. Is there an easy way to put in this key, or do I just need to manually hack it? PS - gave up and manually added the key - works like a charm.

I had the same problem. Maybe the appointments database is corrupted. In my case deleting all the appointments (with SK-tools) solved the problem.

Guys, i am really screwed. Yesterday i did the B&B4.0 flash. With succes. Looked very nice, never seen souch a thing. Thank you many times Tom, donation is on his way!!!

This morning my p3300 got stuck and i did soft reset. P3300 did go out but did not rebooted.
Then hardware reset, nothing. My p3300 . I see the O2 startup screen with IPL , SPL, GSM and OS version numbers, but does not boot further. Battery in and out, sim in and out, sdcard in and out, hardware reset. Nothing helps.
It runt for a day and now it is dead. Do i need to send my p3300 now for repair or is there a fix?

Holding the record button down and pressingt the soft reset wont let me in the boot loader. How can i acces the boot loader?

I don't have the vibrate bug anymore and I can use tabsettings... maybe there is not the key in the registry, but it should work if u add it by hand. Otherwise maybe Tom can help you.

After hardreset I installed the Home plugin.
Now everything seems OK. I have got vibrate again and not switch to vibrate when I write a new appointment. :)

Ok Please correct me if I am wrong. I presume that the autosound patch fixed the problem where if there was an appointment the phone would automatically switch to vibrate mode.

I am using tabsetting and this no longer goes into vibrate when I am in a time when there is an appointment.

However:

1. When I create an appointment of anytype and of anytime my phone now switches itself to vibrate. I don't know if this changes back to "normal" after a time and I also don't know if this is a new bug or an existing one. Does anyone else get this?

2. The Launch Music Player button now points to Windows Media player and not Audio Manager.

Hope someone can help :)

GREAT!!! It helped. Both softkeys and then soft reset. Then release the soft reset button. My mistake was to let go the softkeys instead of softreset key.

I installed 2 and don't have problems neither with sound neither with Tabsettings. I've removed some tabs and it works fine, and after adding appointments in calendar the phone is still with sound. However it launches Windows Media Player, but it works. What do u mean with "broken"?

it seems to me that the camera is not working correctly when i will take gps-photo. gps will not be activated (no gps led is flashing) and when i save a gps-photo, i cannot open it. it allways occure an error.

I have finished updating my xda Orbit de O2 to the official ROM of O2 of Windows mobile 6. I have tried to update the ROM with uSPL but it gives to a UPGRADE error error me in ROM Black&Blue and the Artemis Update SPL (USPL) v.01, what I must do? I am quite new in these subjects and with himself not to understand the steps to follow. I hope can help me, thanks.

it seems to me that the camera is not working correctly when i will take gps-photo. gps will not be activated (no gps led is flashing) and when i save a gps-photo, i cannot open it. it allways occure an error.

I installed 2 and don't have problems neither with sound neither with Tabsettings. I've removed some tabs and it works fine, and after adding appointments in calendar the phone is still with sound. However it launches Windows Media Player, but it works. What do u mean with "broken"?


By broken I mean that the media player does not play any media! Only mp3 seems to be working. All other media give an error message. But Tom said he is working on that so we just have to have some more patience.

my problem is the icons of GSM power signal and volume didn't show properly. The numbers of battery status are ok.

here you have the icons, just copy all files on windows dir of your PDA overwriting the ones you have. soft reset and go.

someone posted them not so long ago.

as I said, I just installed the splash screen, then I've reseted my HTC as asked, and then my htc hangs on the windows mobile startup page (the one where black & blue v4.0 touch and pdaviet is written)... do I have to do a hrad reset now or is there another solution ?

I installed the tab setting version which has fixed the vibrating issue partly.

When the time goes into the time for an appointment it no longer changes my sound profile to vibrate. However when I create new appointments, it DOES change my sound profile to vibrate and it does not appear to change back to normal unless I do it manually.

Also with either version of the htc fix it launches Media Player. Is there a fix for this to change back to Audio Manager?

My ROM was working fine up to the moment I flashed the other boot screen. From that moment it would hang randomly after a soft rest. Doing a hard reset made it work again but then everything was lost.

After a re-flash of the ROM all was working fine again.

ps. I also disabled everything related to batterystatus

Concerning autoprofile feature - i have profile tab enabled but autoprofile disabled - it behaves without suddenly changing profiles but there is a change when i make new appt but that is the only bug. I think this is because the kaiser plugin is still beta, when we have the final release kaiser rom then hopefully stable home plugin we can use. I'll try to help tom fix autoprofile issue so at the least it can work like mine.

Since I re-flashed 3 times, and every time, I hated to have to manually change my favorite registry setting every time. I include these setting in a reg file. 1. Set right soft key from default contact to PocketCM
2. Disable USB charging
3. Enable different icon for GPRS/EDGE

5. Enable TouchFlo sounds ..da..da..daaaa....

I try to use TrayLaunch in BatteryStatus when I add new application in the list my PDA is hang on PDAVIET screen. only thing I can do is Hard reset :)

Just one quicky :
I didn't found any thread on beam.
Why on CommManager there one icon call Beam ?
Beam is it for IR (?? P3300 don't have) or Bluetooth ?
Is it because the ROM is the same (or come from) as an other phone with IR ?
On the PocketCM if I choose a contact then View it in the menu --> send contact, I have the choice between Beam or SMS/MMS
What does it means Beam : IR or Bluetooth ?

Finally took the plunge last night and upgraded from T-Mobile MDAC3 UK WM5 to this ROM after my wife got a MDA Touch and I felt a bit behind the times!!

Well done Tom.

All my software that worked in WM5 seems to work in WM6 and the device is a little bit faster overall (major improvement when looking in the Windows directory!!).

SBSH Today Suite (Pocket Breeze, iLauncher, Pocket Weather)

The only thing that does not work is Modaco No Data.

On a related note, I am aware that there is a registry tweak to remove the sound and the pop up for showing a message has been sent. However, can you tweak it so that you keep the pop up but loose the sound?

For all the ones out there who are not sure whether to update or not (like I was yesterday):

Do it!

It´s as easy as can be:

-Do the USPL as mentioned a 1000 times (3 minutes)
-Then run the exe file from master Tom (10 minutes)
-enjoy Touchflo

My configuration:

O2 XDA Orbit (former OS was the original WM6 ger)

Avantgo
TCPMP
Mortplayer
DokoWorld


works perfect: No Softreset needed so far.

The speed remains the same (my opinion) only thing I noticed is: there is more free ram...

PocketCM is really nice - I think I let it run in the background all the time.

The new Today-screen with the apllication launcher is a must have.


Everything else is allright - if you read the posts in this thread you get the impression that this Rom is crap but it really seems to be a good bit of code.

(The only downsides are the camera-problems and the Media-player issues discussed in other posts already.)

To all: Don´t be too picky - if you want to run software that partially replace the functionaltity that Tom implemented - you should not bother Tom with silly questions... (".... I´m running app xy and it is 7 mm too far on the right side..." "...can u change the splash screen to purple...")

We should all give support for an improvement of the existing functionality and not so much design-issues...

Congratulations, nice rom. After several reboots everything works fine (gprs, edge...). Only thing to change is my keyboard layout. I want to change it into german (language file 407), but there is no change in the keyboard layout anyhow. Is there another tweak?

No, just try it...:)
When someone calls you, just push up or down the volume slide and the ring will stop only for that call...:)

first of all let me start by thanking all u guy's that have made this great rom possible espacilally tom ! :)
i installed this over my dutch t mobile compact 3 and it looks and works great.
but there is a bug that made me hard reset my device twice.
when u select phm tray launch and u soft reset the phone it get's stuck in the startup screen:eek: !?
the only way to get the phone started again is a hard reset.
am i the only one with this problem?

I have read that several people, just like me, have the problem that when to add something to the Today screen, the function is only added after a soft reset.

OK, I am a bit lost here.

I use PHM registry editor to go to the folder 112 and when I click the "'Open" I get a line with Value Data:

"\Windows\calendar.exe"

What should i type in this box?

So I got to the stage where I know how to change the word calendar to TouchFLO (on my screen) but no luck with the link.
When I do a softreset everything i back the way it was before. This also applies to the changes I made to the contacts (and this was succesfull)

Do the registry settings that you add manually suppose to dissapear after a soft reset?

I've succesfuly installed v4 twice (returned to 3.7 becouse various bugs in v4). But what I must tell You (All You) V4 is much better after few modifications (almost all i have found in this thread) :
Splash, DAD Touch SmartDial (from 3.7), few modifications in registry (like EDGE icon). I've solved most irritating bug (i think) - in touchflo my X button wasn't much availible to my finger (i'm sure i'm not alone). What have i done:

in TFLOSettings in registry, i've added:
DelayDiff 28
DownLength 440
EnableCube 0 - becouse its beautyfull but i dont like it
EnableSound 1 - becouse its beutyfull and i like it much :-)
FingerPressure 2700 - i think it's the thing why X button didn't work well
PageHigh 8
PageLow 5
UpLength 300

Another Feature which is not usable in B&B 4.0, but was in O2 WM6 Rom.


- Camera --> Filenames of Photos cannot be changed. It was possible to set the Filename to: Date, so that a new picture would be like:

2007_08_09.jpg
2007_08_19.jpg

now its only possible to let the filename be:

0001.jpg
0002.jpg
..

ans so on. Plz someone loook into it! Really would like to have Date in the filenames again!

I have restored on my B&B 4.0 an autoexecutable backup done with spb backup / WM5. My contacts and notes are Ok, in calendar existing events are here but i cannot add a new one. It says that database is corrupted and i have to suppress it or restore a uncorrupted backup. I know that my backup file is not corrupted, this file stays quitely in my SD card.

I'm searching for the fix.

if you change registry as follows it will set pocket cm as standard "contact" app:


[HKLM/Software/Mircosoft/Shell/Rai/:MSCONTACTS]
1 = "\windows\pocketcm.exe"


that's what i did and it works great. there's a post about it somewhere :p

You can't restore Backups from WM5 to a WM6 Device. At least not with SPB Backup. All you can do is f.e. Using PPCPimBackup to backup your PIM under WM5 and restore in MW6.

Since the upgarade form WM5 to B&B4.0 active sync can not connect to the HTC.
Strange. Did reinstall it several times, nothing happened. Every connection is good when run test only active sync can not connect to the device.

Tom, you did a great job with B&B4.0 . Is there a challange for you to improve the shitty active sync maybe? ;-)

My camera is that slow too....it's much better than in 3.7, but it could be faster :)

In the 4.0 phonepad (and even in the 3.7 phonepad that i am using) the pincode field has imho ugly (small) buttons. Is it possible (of course is it when you know what you have to do :)) to change the keys only in this field to something like it was in Wizard_reTouched_dialer (see screenshot on the right side) ?
That would be great. Can anyone explain me what i have to do ?
I like it to use the 3.7 phonepad, but with this change....

at last i solved my issue of missing/wrong display of icons!! (see screenshot)

i seems that it wasn't problem neither pbar not htc x-button, the kid of the question is the following registry keys:

originally i got theese values:

[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\]
"ShowTitleBarClock"=1
"TBOpt"=0

this means no time/date/batt icon will be shown in top bar

now i have theese values:

[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\]
"ShowTitleBarClock"=0
"TBOpt"=1

meaning the batt icon will be displayed.

this is the only way i found to solve this issue/bug.

Run application from MediaHub, then click "OK", you will find the CUBE is still there.

However, if you launch apps from the "Launcher" or click one favorite contact, press "OK", you will find CUBE disppear, you have to press the hard button to start it again.

Has anyone had problems with thier Orbits afta running Toms Brilliant BB v 4? what seems to always happen wit me is;

when i do soft rest, after installing apps it freezes at the B&B/windows screen, and i have no choice but to hard reset everytime.

unfortunatly i have had to revert back to the 02 official wm6 ro because it just keeps freezing once it soft rests - if i could avoid soft resseting i would!!! but i cant!!!!

plus why does the official wm6 update not have office 2007? thats what i have on my PC so i cannot sync at all?!?!?!?!?!

I havent seen it anywhere but I have a small issue. when I run tomtom I cant close it. If i click anywhere around the start button or many other places on the screen it just opens tomtom again.

not a huge hassle just have to soft reset and sorted and as I dont use it to much not to much hassle.

why be so hard to quote Toms sentence... like he force you to donate...
In his sentence he means, he can put a password on his rom, but he will never do that... cause he want to share his knowledge and his roms with everybody!! With or without the donation!!!

I want to remember you, Tom never asked for the donations... in fact he even refused it for a very long time... untill SiperX and I talked to him, and insist to receive our donations...

I think your post was kind of an attack to Tom in person... cause you quoted what he said... instead of quote something from SiperX or myself for example... you make it like Tom force us to donate or something, which is not true at all!!

I don't donate something to Bill Gates, cause he doesn't need it, and most of the things he made is crap... but Tom need our support and the things he make is Fantastic!!!

so even you don't donate, Tom still will make a nice rom... and yes, even you will be able to use it and enjoy it!!!

How do I start/use TouchFlo now I've succesfully upgraded B&B?

I keep toggling buttons, swiping my joy-stick/screen but to no avail.

I have the T-Mobile MDA Compact III version (so no Wifi) and wondering if this is stopping TouchFlo or I am just not starting TouchFlo properly

Not every developer will give you that much support like tom does. And he's
helping everybody even if they didn't donate to him...
And he does it because he wants to. He just could post his rom and forget it.
I think this act is it worth to donate some money to tom. You can feel that
he is doing this from heart not because of money and that is the fact that i like.
What would you think when you were in tom's position ?!?
I think i would be glad when i'm getting a small donation...and you ?

Cool, I did not know I can change the regional settings. Today I came late to work because I set the alarm to 10:15 PM (!) instead of AM :)
NOw that I set the regional settings to German I have the hh:mm:ss and no AM and PM problem :D ;) :cool:

My battery problem is really strange. Sometimes when I soft reset the Phone it says completely different battery status then before...

EDIT: Question: Does anyone know what the SMS-application is called ? I want to have a direct link to SMS composing on the left HArdware button. I found tmail.exe but that is for SMS and MMS.

I am really glad with our new rom. Fantastatic job tom, no probs @ all, everything i need is working. I make some mods with it. It is a very fast rom too.

For the future look to gullums´thread on his prophet V6. He is able to make the cube working without pressing a button or any softkey... and a german ... you know what I like...

Please help me out here, i have managed to mess up the today screen, now i have a black screen buton the start bar (top) and on the bottom bar contacts there green, how to i get it back to normal again ?

is there a bmp i can upload to it ?

I use Push Mail from an Exchange 2003 server and this is working perfect.

However when I push the left messaging button on the HTC Home Plugin it takes me to the messaging program. Either the selection screen or if this is disabled to the last open profile. When I define an extra mail account the button will always take me to this account but that does not work with the Outlook profile.

Is there any way of going directly to the outlook profile?

Hi, Anyone using gpsgate? It looks that there are problems with that sw. When i run it, it ask for install driver and soft reset... but after soft reset I obtain same screen and never start...

That is just B&B 4 with coloured icons. The icons are downloadable from this thread, you just use something like Total Commander to write them to the windows folder on your device.
