You can put the TouchFlo on a softkey instead of the hardware button.

Thats a great and valid point to make... people who are testing it need to ensure that this ROM is stable... the soft rest needs to be tried after installing some applications just to see whether it freezes on the startup screen. Because if this is the case then there would not be much point in installing the ROM. i had this issue with version 4.0, i probably did 13 hard resets, which eventually became very frustrating hence i returned to the original o2 rom. i love Toms rom and did want to keep it, but couldnt afford to keep hard resetting.

Tom your doing a great job and keep it up. hope the bugs fixed so i can install 4.1. the people who are actually testing thios ROM can you give us a better review apart from 'its working perfectly'... if you can go into a bit of detail explaining what is different from the first and the bugs that are fixed. that would be much appreciated.

My device is always fully loaded...

So I don't know what program would cause this bug in your devices...
You should try to install every app, and after installing an app, immediately soft reset, to see if its that specific app that could cause this bug. Otherwise I 'm not sure if Tom would be able to fix it. Cause we even don't know what's causing this...

In v4.1 you'll be able to activate TouchFlo just by swiping your finger from the top of the screen to the bottum ;-)

This link adds only a few keys to your registry, and by some more change you can activate the flo by swipping your finger from the center of the screen to the bottom. Nice and not as long the swinger swip as fromn the top to the bottom! :)

Did anyone with the "getting stuck at 2nd loading screen bug" from 4.0 test it?

I had no problem with B&B 2 but like several people, it seems, I can load B&B 4 fine but if I switch it off or soft reset it after installing something like CE-Star to view chinese fonts and put default language back to english or french, I end up being stuck at the 2nd loading screen with the only option of hard reseting the device.

Its quite frustrating and right now I'm left with the only choice of having B&B 4 with my synched data but no apps installed to prevent having from hard resetting and reinstalling everything AGAIN for the 6TH TIME!!!!

Therefore I hope the people testing B&B 4.1 are also people who have been having this problem since 3.7, and not people who havent had it, else I don't see how this problem will ever be fixed...

Just an info for all:


my camera is still to slow but very good results.
Touchflo is working very well on Hardbutton "Internet Explorer"
and WLAN jumps out sometimes. System Memory Error when I start TomTom. After stopping all Programs it works again.

Extras I installed:
- Resco Photo viewer
- Battery Status beta version with German language
- windows live messenger ( the version works on the Phone from WM6 O2 Germany)
- Slide to unlock
- Wifi Knife
- Windows Live
- Skype
and some registry settings
- show clock all the time
- I dont remember the rest....

In BB 4.0, as soon as I close and open the device, it autmatically goes to key-lock status, then I have to unlock it each time. I tried to close key-lock function but result is negative. How can I turn-off lock funtion.

have you done 'uspl' ? thats probably the cause. u need to use that software to unlock and then flash the software on.... theres a thread on here somewhere on how to do this

uspl seems to die on mine pc it kills activesync. the linux bootloader tool comes up and the screen goes black but activesync just stops working and I reconnect with the phone in the same state but it just comes back with a corrupt rom error.

p.s. my phone is CID unlocked and has WM6 on it

Hello all, Tom, your rom is fantastic! I had been enjoying it for about 4 days now, until just 1 hour ago something terrible happened:

Besides B&B 4.0, i had implemented the cab which allows touchflo activation without softkeys and set PocketCM as default contact manager in all areas where the contacts are called up...
I had opened biotouch to change one of the icons for the internet application, but since it wasn't immediately effective, I did a soft reset...

After that, my p3300 won't get past the Black & Blue welcome screen...it just hangs there forever. I tried resetting a number of times, removing the battery and putting it back, connecting it to activesync...nothing. It just hangs there.

Please let me out guys, I'm a complete noob and don't know what I can do to reset it completely or get out of this situation..

[SOLVED] by reading this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=318699&highlight=factory+reset I was able to do a factory reset and get back to installing the B&B 4.0 rom...but if I have the same problem again I will post back...I wonder what could have caused such a crash?

I've been using BB4.0 for about 3 to 4 weeks flawlessly until yesterday.

tried to start the WLAN as usual from the top G icon, and it just wouldnt connect. So after various checking I thought a soft reset would sort it, so tried this.

Upon the reload, I cannot seem to get any WLAN connection established and there is no sign of it working by means of the usual icon changes. the WLAN icon under connections is missing too. The Wireless LAN LED does flash though, but no connection is there.

Anyone have any ideas? I dont really want to rebuild the machine again as it took me many hours to get it to the place its at now. (before the wireless stopped working that is)

I have not installed any new apps, everything was installed 3 weeks ago when I upgraded to 4.0

If I have to rebuild, i'd like to try the newer, as yet unreleased, 4.1

Does anyone know how to get the WLAN icon back? Anyone else seen this annoying issue before?

I have a problem with my v4 of B&B.
After a reset my PDA is stuck at thw windows loading screen.
I have running your v4 B&B form the beginning and no problems for so far.

The big issue for me is that i don't have created a backup form either my contacts as sms/notes.

Is there a way i can get to these information with out a hard reset?

umm I dont disconnect it my activesync actually closes(with an error) its self and then I have to start it again. then next time around it just errors on the update at 3%

Had Exactly same Prob... What I did is: I've downgraded my rom from one i got on Qtec's homepage, and tried to Flash the B&B again, and it went smoothly...

Try that, maybe it will work for U 2 :p

Thanks for the advice I did try that... I am CID unlocked so USPL is not important to me but I did do the USPL as well and no luck. I think I will try what cobra 2 said.

hi i downloaded this a couple of weeks ago and think that it is very good, i do like how it all looks, is there any way of making the battery life lasting longer, i have it where it goes in to standy by mode but when i want to use it i have to press the power button which can be annoying some times, what is the touch flow program, when i tap it nothing happens?? is there a way to build in OmapClock into the B&B as a standard program i know it is a use at your own risk but i not had no problems using it. i look forward to any updates that you may be working on to improve it some more.some diff type of layout would look good then there is a choice of screens.:cool:

I installed B&B4.0 about 3 weeks ago. Worked very well and was quite stable for these weeks. Only had to reset it once. But this morning it restarted itself just out of the blue. It never came out of boot mode (stuck in the black b&B screen). Not after resetting, or removing the battery. Finally I did a hard reset, which worked. But now i lost some data (not really a problem) and only tonight I can resynchronize..

I think i'm going back to a more original rom. I really like the B&B. Touch flow looks very good, but i personally find it not that handy. I never used for my own use, only to show ;-)

don't go back - go forward to 4.1 ! It's amazing....and, if you want, you can disable the cube or even the scroll....Tom did great work with the new rom....
To prevent datalost i never save something to the phonememory and backing up the files from storagecard from time to time... :D

if i were you then i would install Tom's newest ROM, B&B 4.1, it's very fast and since now it's very stable and there is nothing you won't have in 4.0 that is not in 4.1 (except the bugs :)) It's a great ROM (ok, it isn't that "old" so we have to wait until we can give an significant statement, but.....just give 4.1 a try)

Yes it does, i'm also German using XDA Orbit from 02 but not an O2 User.
After flashing BB you must reinstall TT but its not really a Prob.


All the original O2 functions are there plus a few extras? right?


I didn't think so, there are no O2 functions but many extras.
But if you need the Homezone Icon etc. there are some Patches around here.

1st i've done when i've got the orbit is to flash the BB3.7 now the BB4.1 is also great fast stable with many features. Based on WM6.
I've never seen the Ori O2 Rom.
If you read this thread you will see and get many tips and tricks.

I installed B&B4.0 about 3/4 weeks ago. Worked very well and was quite stable for these weeks. Only had to reset it once. But yesterday it crashed and now it never come out of boot mode (stuck in the black and bleu). Not after soft resetting, or removing the battery. And it wont come in active sync. When i leave the sim-card in it flashes red and when i removed it doesn't flashes at all.

So i need some advice to repear or fix this problem.......

..Iam still looking at the bootscreen...:(

There's a later edition of Biotouch settings now, later than the one included in this ROM. It now allows for complete customisation of cube and also weather location / other settings.

In all cases the QuickGPS is updated. In your ROMs, for instance with TomTom Navigator, if you go to GPS screen, you can see al least 4 o 5 satellites with high grey bars, but it doesn't finishes to turn to blue.

Touch Flo (the cube and finger scrolling) needs to be cooked into the rom, at present there are no working cab installs of this avaiable.

In TomTom i never had to change anything. Anyway, when you start TomTom, go to Change Preferences - Show GPS Status - click Configure - Then you can choose Built-in GPS receiver, maybe in your configuration is another GPS-receiver selected ?
Normally it works with this configuration (Built-in GPS receiver & COM4 in Hardware-settings)

the prob is it then asks which port the wired gps is onand comm 4 isn't there but it was have done a clear storage to try and bring all comm ports back.. thanks for the help peter

Yes petervbeck, I used the wrong Task Manager and I found the one you were referring to and managed to import the registry. The PHM RegEdit Import function is greyed off I think because it is the beta version.

The PHM RegEdit Import function is greyed off I think because it is the beta version.

Ah, now i got it - afaik phm doesn't import .reg files, they have their own format (rbk- Registrybackup) ...that's why it doesn't work...

BTW: I'm not quiet sure which one you want for default CM ?
It sounds you want the windows CM as default, correct ?

For Windows as default CM (default):
[HKLM\software\microsoft\shell\rai\:MSCONTACTS]
"1" value = ":MSPOUTLOOK contacts"

For PocketCM as default CM:
[HKLM\software\microsoft\shell\rai\:MSCONTACTS]
"1" value = "pocketcm.exe"

I would say - no, it's just for HTC Artemis (HTC P3300 /MDA compact III / XDA Orbit / Dopod P800W / Dopod P800 / Orange SPV M650).
Afaik your phone is totally different to our phones (AT&T 8525 is Hermes - see this Wiki Page (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Hermes))
You'll have to search in the Hermes Forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=355)....

I give mij phone a soft reset and now i can't login in to windows mobile black en blue...:confused: anybody an answare on this problem...??

Is it possible to downgrade to WM6 when you updated to Black&Blue v4.0?
I'm try-ing todo this but i keep getting Error 244 : Invalid ID Model.
I also tried to run the Artemis USPL, but i still get this error.

Any ideas?

i have a problem. When I start TF my screen goes black and nothing goin` on...until i press OK button...and then turn my TODAY screen on...and again when I start TF its happen` again same thing. Can somebody help me? Im still new with WM :)

just try to hard reset 1st

when in the first start screen "touch the screen to start/configure"
u may run the uspl ... and follow the instructions as usual.
hope it may work, 'coz i had this problem too and solved ...
