For those of you that have been missing the animated start-up screen here is a custom version inspired by tom's b&b touch ROM.
If you want to change the first screen (the one with O2 on it) use the tool found in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317726
If you're not keen on the second image just find welcomehead.96.png in the windows folder and swap it with a picture of your choosing (240x320 png)
Cheers
Matt
SOME PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED THAT THEIR DEVICE HANGS DURING BOOTUP AFTER INSTALLING THIS CAB.
PLEASE DO A BACKUP BEFORE INSTALLING

just copy it onto your device, run it, reset and you'll have O2 followed by animated B&B logo followed by custom 'windows touch screen'
Simple as that ;)

if someone doesnt like to have the o2 splash at all (like me) you can use the tool posted here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317726) to change the first of the 3 boot screens. so you can have the HTC splash and the 2 (very nice ones) posted in this thread.

Used the installer; boot looks fine but hangs at the fingerprint screen :(
Any suggestions how to solve this?
Edit: A hard reset did the trick...

The thumbprint image is very cool and as no one else appears to have mentioned it, i thought I should add that it also replaces the B&B image in the phone skin. This suits me fine as I wasn't a huge fan - the thumbprint is very classy.
Good work fella!

Being frank, this combo is much better one than that in "official" B&B 4.0 :)

It seems I have the same problem after installing this CAB.
I didn't time the boot process before installing the CAB but afterwards it
seems to hang for a while at the finger print screen.
My boot timings after a reset :
0:35 fingerprint screen
1:04 screen dimms
1:36 screen brightens
2:06 screen dimms
2:40 Enter PIN screen
After the boot all works fine though.

Sorry and I hope no one lost anything.

My slowboot problem afterall seems to not be caused by this Cab.
I found out that CommonTime MNotes application caused the slow boot
(without it my boot takes about 1 minute).

Thanks,
Just a couple of questions:
1. The welcomehead.96.png in my \Windows directory is 320x320, but certainly looks like the 3rd startup screen (the Black & Blue image). I guess 320x320 will do?
2. I selected a nice image, but I can't delete/rename/replace the existing welcomehead.96.png, I suppose because it's in ROM. I did a reg search for welcomehead with PHM Regedit, but came up empty. Where can I point the system to this new image file, or how can I replace welcomehead.96.png?
Thanks all
Mike

My welcomehead.96.png is read only and it wont delete rename or let me copy a new one and overwrite. Any ideas? It came from toms little program to change the 2nd splash screen.

Try using the file explorer from active sync. I also couldnt cut and paste the file using the file explorer from WM6 but the active sync exporer worked fine.

Tried active sync and no luck there :( also tried total commander but it says the file is in the rom. Loaded this tool and it has changed to the fingerprint (welcomehead.96.png).
Is there a exe that someone could write where you leave an animated.gif and a welcome.96.png in a folder and it does the business??

Use Total Commander and look at properties. Uncheck all the boxes, 'read only' etc, once you've done this you should be able to simple overwrite it.
