hy there i already instaled the wm6 ROM, is great but i have some major problems with him,it doesn`t have office :( like the original one,when i reebot first he enters in flight mode and after that he finds the network and the startup picture in wich you can put your one picture, i wish to change with a .gif picture but i don`t know how to do it pls help me...

Nope killing that key didnt change anything for me. Sound is still awful.
So far both Phils beta and the one by andot which had high CPU problem both had quite good A2DP sound, Fixed versions however dont.

andot, I'd like to ask once more: VoIPiser is buggy, please remove it. I've found plenty of information on xda-developers how to configure VoIP without this tool.
Anyway, if anybody still needs it, installation through cab is always possible.
I just ran Voipiser on the V3, it just said "VoIP configuration successfully saved to phone."
And now on my home, I have "freephonie.net = selected" ! hurray!
How could it be more simple ?

Note: the [0] button in the HTC Comm Mgr doesnt seem to really link with the VoIP layer, but who cares : it works ;)

I think that all WM6 ROMs here suffer of one issue. The keypad control sound "Tone" doesn't work at all. I have compared it with different WM6 phone and I'm sure of it. It's very nice sound and I guess everyone would agree with me that is worth correcting it. If anyone knows what file is responsible for it I will upload it here.

One thing you can do is to remove the VOIP & other WIFI stuff and put HTC Streaming Media or PVplayer QVGA for streaming 3gp video via rtsp protocol (eg operators video, youtube mobile.. etc). It doesn't work for me via Media Player. However the asf and mms streaming are working via WMP (i'm using gprs via proxy).
You can add those wifi stuff into a cab, spv c600 users don't need those :D. And the WiFi Tornado users are free to install their prefered VOIP app. Maybe you can do a pool, if you want...

Also the Quick Notes application can be removed.. for eg I'm using SmartphoneNotes wich is better than this (the UI is similar), and i think i'm not the only one

Great work andot. I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned this about V4. If I have applications open and I use the 'back' (arrow) key to get back to the homescreen, I can see the screen but it will not function until I press the home button. Does anybody know why? I have never experienced this with any other rom WM5 or WM6.

I did a backup last night of "v3" and then flashed to v4. Once that was done I did a "rom upgrade restore" and it put all my programs, email, contacts, and calendar right back where they were.

Give it a try. The lite version will run you about $20 and will do what you want.

VoIP & Wifi, you can remove them by yourself, because you are a rom cookier, too.;)

Quick Notes is so small, remove it cannot bring you more space.

In fact, Orange UK AKU 2.0 joystick driver is no useful for my device, I used dopod 577w, I prefer the old one in V3, because it works well with voice tags.

Only about 200K space is left in ROM on a v4.
if some day AKU 2.0 joystick driver can work with voice tag correctly, I will bring voice tag back with this left space.:D

Seriously, I don't understand why people are asking for unused but occupied space in their devices. They are probably thinking that removing applications from the ROM will give them more space, which is WRONG.

Selection of the best software to include is a different story. Everybody has their own preferences and there will always be somebody who is not happy with what is included. I am sure andot is trying to make most of us happy. So please, stop complaining and start helping.

Hey, I know this is one of those dumb newbie questions but when I'm using my i-mate SP5 with this ROM installed, the screen blanks out after about 5 seconds unless I press a key or toggle the joystick. I have tried playing with the power management settings but it doesn't seem to make a difference. There isn't even a setting for 5 seconds fer chrissakes!!!???

Any ideas?

It appears that the problem is NOT the setting of the display timeout.

The problem is that something (AutoKeylock?) is resetting it back to 7 seconds.

Phil's beta fixed A2DP, but it caused another issue: high CPU usage.
I removed this A2DPfix program, so you heard hissing sound with this ROM.

I had this issue with challshu's ROM, before I flashed andot's one. I suspected AutoKeylock, but now I'm using it without any problem. If you don't want to use AutoKeylock, you may also try to remove KeyLock.lnk from \Windows\StartUp\ folder. I noticed that it is present there even if you never run KeyLock Config.

yes, I removed wmvdecoder.dll, because it's to big (if I didn't remove it, I can't add HTC StreamMedia), you can copy wmvdecoder.dll to \Windows. It will be OK.

I removed it before I make this ROM, when I get the Phil's alpha ROM, I think the German Localization is no useful and to big for me ( I don't know any German language ), so I removed it and added Chinese. When I made it better than before, I release the dopod Asia WWE, and then I removed Chinese support, and made this Edition. so This is why there is no German Localization in this ROM.

it is not a font, it is a program called ClockOnTop that draws the clock. The ROM comes with Segoe Condensed alone.

it's mentioned that it has no input, so you have to install it after flashing. you can install T9 or xT9. I prefer T9 , because in xT9 copy/paste functions from xbar aren't working :(

Me too, the latest stable was better in this regard

BUT I now just disabled its screensaver, just kept the keylock and the autounlock. So far it's not too bad.

Okay, I have solved the mystery of the display timeout problem! It's easy once you know it (but then isn't everything?).

I still don't know what actually causes it but the symptom is that no matter what display timeout you set (30 sec, 1 min), as soon as you lock the keyboard, either manually or with AutoKeylock, it will be reset to 7 seconds and stay there.

With a bit of investigation and a couple of hard resets I worked out that in this section...

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Power

There is usually one key when the keypad is unlocked. The "Display" key shows your normal setting in seconds (30, 60, etc). When you lock the keypad, the "Display" setting is changed to 7 seconds (7) because that's sensible for when the keypad is locked. At the same time it creates a new key called "TimeoutSaved" which is your normal (30, 60, etc) setting. Now under normal conditions, when you unlock the keypad, the "TimeoutSaved" is deleted and the "Display" key is reset to your normal setting (30, 60 etc).

For some reason, on mine the "Display" key was not being reset, it was staying on 7 seconds.

So the fix is easy. In the subfolder...

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Power\LockLevel

there is a key called "LockLevel" and it has been set to "3" or "4" (don't know how or by what program). All you need to do is reset it to 0. Fixed.

Like I said, it's easy when you know but it took a bit of messing about to see exactly what was happening.

Hope this is useful to anyone having the same problem (I know it happened to ega2002 so it might be quite common). No more hard resets or reflashing :D

I'm slightly confused because this worked with the old cingular locked rom I had on there with the 3125 drivers. When I try to connect my phone as a modem to my computer, IE go to internet sharing, and select the connection I want to use, and select the connection type, and hit key one. It just doesn't do anything, it doesn't even try to disconnect from active sync. I thought maybe this internet sharing wasn't supported on hour phones in wm6.

Don't trust that info. I can copy things more than 2.00kb to the storage card even it shows 2.00kb. This is a bug of HTC File Manager.
you can also try to copy things from PC to SP. If it also cannot copy to it, maybe the ROM cannot support more than 1gigs card. At last, you can try this sdmemory.cab, this is a patch to fixed storage card support, maybe it can support your storage card, but I didn't test it, because I have no 2gigs or 4 gigs storage card.

you don't need any driver.. internet sharing is working just like a LAN connection..

@imfloflo, OmarD AFAIK V3 has also the same joystick driver (from Orange UK AKU 2.0 ROM). I haven't tested V6, i have right now V4 and joystick works ok.

try restarting your phone after install english xt9
and if you want the abc input try to press and hold the *key and select abcd

make sure that either t9 or xt9 is installed. restart your phone. then start a new sms and press and hold the * key. this will give you a menu of different input methods installed on your phone. Choose the one you like. that is it.

Hi,

My contribution to the discussion regarding Tag Voices and mainly regarding the manner
when I connected Qtek with external Bluetooth “Supertooth II. handsfree speakerphone Kit” (it has full duplex).

Firstly, I confirm that a tag voice works only if I speak after ~2 sec after the audio prompt. Never mind, it’s not the worst, by me :-/

Worst of all is, that the BT handsfree Kit is not able ITSELF to pick up any tag voice
(for instance - automatic dialing the associated phone number)
without press BEFORE the “Volume down Button” on the Qtek left side to bring up the dialer screen.
Only after that screen is appearing and only during it - I can press “Pick-up Button” on BT Kit
fixing thereafter that the voice is heard on the BT Kit and I hear a tag directly on the Kit.
From this moment I can call and surprisingly is possible to hang up the call by a button from the Kit.

Without this procedure of sequence of both buttons pressing - initiation of voice recognition only over the BT Kit does not work!
It means that BT Kit is not able to begin and pick-up a tag voices recognition directly itself.

But its own Bluetooth connection (Qtek <-> BT Kit) seems to be under control after pairing I see a small headphone symbol on the title screen,
besides, the Kit is still able itself to do switching On/Off Bluetooth headphone connection directly.

Any ideas?
Has anyone similar experience?

To achieve a success with solving this BT voice dialing problem,
than Andot's version for Tornado is really the Perfect English Edition which has ever been released!!!

You can try the other ROM, maybe it related to all wm6 roms for tornado.

Wifi for tornado only support 802.11b, make sure your router support this mode.
and if your router not support dhcp, it also can't connect, but you can use WLAN IP Manager to set the wifi IP of your phone.

ah, i've forgot to say that the in-call voice sound is soo scratchy when using speakerphone (maybe because the volume is set to max).

Well, I've noticed that there is actually a slight volume change in both modes (normal, speakerphone). Maybe there are some settings in the registry that can "expand" the sound volume range. Oh, I forgot to mention that I have the v4 ROM installed.

its working on my phone, but with the latest version *v6* the joystick if awfully terrible. the joystick driver from the aku2 orange rom is the best i've ever seen :-S


funny thing: if you press the call/home button and then press the joystick as you were browsing with it, you get the same joystick sensivity as the old aku2 orange rom :D

Thanks a lot for your great work. I have tested all the firwmare versions you have created and i have to say they are promising to me. But after installing the latest v6 update my joystick has started to make som problems when i navigate to downwords, right or left side. It was working qute fine since yesterday when i installted the v6 update but suddenly it stopped to navigate. I flashed my Qtek 8310 back with v4 update and it started to work fine wht still sometime it stopped to navigate downwords, right and left side. I am pretty sure i dont have a hardware issue my phone is not so old and i used it carefully. I have to say there is some issue whcih came with joystick drivers from version 6 update. Because i have used both beta versions and v1,2,3,4 without any problem but after updating to v6 i am getting problem. Can you please take a look to that issue.

Hi i know many of us have problem due to AKU2.0 joystick driver which was not included in the v3 and v4 firmware. Can you please exclude this from the next version and put a cab file instead for those who want to use that one? My jostick is not working good at all. Since it was working great until v4 firmwares.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Power\LockLevel

there is a key called "LockLevel" and it has been set to "3" or "4" (don't know how or by what program). All you need to do is reset it to 0. Fixed.

Every time you install a T9 package, the HKLM/T9 Input Method/MUI/Languages/Available key is rewritten. To have both Greek and English, set the value of this key to 0408,0409. :)

Maybe I should create a Greek-English T9 Package. ;)

EDIT: It took me just 2 minutes! Try installing the attached cab file. It contains both Greek and English T9 support. I haven't tested it, but It should work.

In my humble opinion, the problem is in Cyberon VC which brings about that a handsfree itself
is not able to begin any tag voice recognition and is not able to pick-up it directly.
BTW - the Cyberon VC has ill fame just in these connections. That goes ONLY for this case!

Strange, I have the voicecommand and I do remember this story for PPC (your initial thread link goes in Hermes section... which is a PDA).
I've already tried couple of time, on different ROMs... Never seen this branch.
And your screenshot show a "time" key above HARDWARE... Never seen that neither.

Have you tried this yourself? Still the same error after changing this value.
But after changing this value i can use the voice dialing from my headset. The only problem is that i neither can see the name of the recognized voice tag on my headset's screen (SE DS970), not can hear the recognized voice tag in the earphone. So, we've got blind voice dialling.

First, I use a screenreader on my phone because i'm blind. When I installed The rom, the screenreader would cut out right before the last silible or word spoken. so for example: settings would be turned into setting. I think this probably is more of a screenreader not being tested with mobile six then a rom problem. Second, I noticed general unstability when trying to answer a call. The phone would lock and i'd have to remove the battery. Again, probably a screenreader problem. over all I like the rom, its fast and responsive, but the only reason why I flashed to this rom was to get the auto-time update feature, because again, another screenreader problem. When I lock my phone right after I end a call the screenreader locks it up and I have to remove the battery to get my phone back. I think this has to do something with the sound device not being give over to the screenreader fast enough. So my question is, can someone help me find a working wm5 rom with the sync to gsm network time update? Because its really annoying to be out and have my phone crash and to ask someone for the time. Perhaps you got to see if the software supports Windows Mobile 6, some programs do have weird issues with Windows Mobile 6
