I noticed that on some of the screens/views the clock is displayed on the left side of the screen and it goes to far to the left and only the last digit is visible.

Anyone else noticed that. On the calls history view the one after you press the green answer button it goes to far left.But On the reminders view it is displayed fine and it is on the left side but it does not go to far and you can see the clock. Oh i guess that would make only one screen with such an issue.

I made an update of my Qtek 8310 / imate SP5, for the SIP native support mainly.

I added the T9 french dictionnary and the SP5 buttons to get them working fully.

But now, i'm looking for a trick in order to get WM6 fully in french if possible, i think about the menu who keep stay in English and i don't have any choice about the language in the regionnal settings of my smartphone.

Another thing, when i try to call my responder (**1), i have a problem, maybe it's outlook who don't let my composition like the original, any one have an idea to fix that?

Then, how to delete all the programs added in this Upgrade of WM6 V6?
Is there any folder when i can try to keep just the things i need?

Damn this, I just installed your ROM, and I'm really liking it, so I'm thinking about sticking with it. The only problem I'm having is to setup a IME. I already tried installing xT9, eT9, regular T9, different languages, etc, but I just can't get the thing to accept letters... if I press a key, either it won't input anything, or it will input numbers. If I press the * key, it won't pop up anything either...
I know it's probably an obvious problem, but I just can't get it >_< thanks in advance.

Take a look at the last edited date of the first post. It is likely that this ROM is as ready as it will be. Other people may be using this ROM for new cooks, but I think Andot has lost interest as he doesn't actually use a Tornado himself.

Okay, I have solved the mystery of the display timeout problem! It's easy once you know it (but then isn't everything?).

I still don't know what actually causes it but the symptom is that no matter what display timeout you set (30 sec, 1 min), as soon as you lock the keyboard, either manually or with AutoKeylock, it will be reset to 7 seconds and stay there.

With a bit of investigation and a couple of hard resets I worked out that in this section...

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Power

There is usually one key when the keypad is unlocked. The "Display" key shows your normal setting in seconds (30, 60, etc). When you lock the keypad, the "Display" setting is changed to 7 seconds (7) because that's sensible for when the keypad is locked. At the same time it creates a new key called "TimeoutSaved" which is your normal (30, 60, etc) setting. Now under normal conditions, when you unlock the keypad, the "TimeoutSaved" is deleted and the "Display" key is reset to your normal setting (30, 60 etc).

For some reason, on mine the "Display" key was not being reset, it was staying on 7 seconds.

So the fix is easy. In the subfolder...

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Power\LockLevel

there is a key called "LockLevel" and it has been set to "3" or "4" (don't know how or by what program). All you need to do is reset it to 0. Fixed.

Like I said, it's easy when you know but it took a bit of messing about to see exactly what was happening.

Hope this is useful to anyone having the same problem (I know it happened to ega2002 so it might be quite common). No more hard resets or reflashing :D

Automatic locking works great but i like to lock my device before putting it in my pocket.

great rom with Bluetooth Dial-up Networking but it isn't working. Service voor dial-up is there but what ever i try it says no modem found. Perhaps you add the service but forgot de modem drivers? Can and will you fix this because i need it badly.
I use my tornado as a modem for my htc Tytn II and with WM5 it's all oke but WM6 is missing the modem drivers.

I am currently attempting to connect with 2 exchange servers for email. I understand that this is technically not possible, but luckily for me my work exchange is also set up to deliver via POP3. I am wondering if there is a registry entry that can be changed to allow WM6 to pull via POP3 more frequently than 15 minutes. I was hoping to do 5 minutes or maybe even 3 minutes.

Hi. I recently got a C600 and am pretty happy with it after the C500 I had previously. Reading all this about WM6 it looks like it would be worthwhile upgrading the ROM. Can someone please post an idiot's guide for every step I would need to do to flash my C600 AKU2.0 to WM6. I am the "idiot" who needs the "guide".
Also, I use mine for TomTom satnav as well as other things. Has anyone tested this ROM to see if it still handles that sort of application?

It is just OS. In other words by flashing this it will just upgrade OS. It will not affect IPL, SPL or GSM. And you should upgrade GSM before doing this if you are upgrading from WM5.

Since installing this ROM, it appears some of my SMS messages were either delayed a few hours or didn't go through at all. Granted, it could be the service (T-Mobile US, roaming on Cingular) but I haven't experienced this before. Last night as a test I tried sending SMS to two phones on other networks and neither of them went through at all.

I did receive the SMS sent notification after sending.

Any thoughts?

You have to stop the process and delete the start-up shortcut.

Now retraining yourself to always lock manually will be interesting.

As the kernel is updated, ROM makers will likely want to upgrade to the newest ASAP. Geeks always need to upgrade, even when it's not for sure an upgrade ;-)


But Nitro, EA and vjgrace all have very new good ROMs that are most recent and stable. You find the one that works for you and you probably never need to update.

I'm still not able to view received MMS messages. It says I have a message but I can't get to it to view it. This is after I have installed the newest version of Arcsoft.

Well, seems that it's an extraordinary unpopular service to send/receive MMS, but after installing ArcSoft's .cab i get nothing usable about MMs's in Messaging folder :rolleyes: :confused: - still SMS and e-mail services... After updating I was trying to reinstall all my programs and ran into a problem downloading java apps .jad and .jar in internet explorer. I also noticed that .jad and .jar files are not associated with any apps. Do I need to install a virtual machine or java manager.

Anyone else experiencing lag when placing or answering calls?

For instance, when I get an incoming call, and press the softkey for "Answer", nothing happens for 2 seconds or so, then the phone returns to the homescreen, then the call is answered a second or tho later. So basically, it takes 4-5 seconds from I press "Answer" until I'm able to actually talk to the person calling.

Ok.. re-read Nitro's suggestions.. You're much better off installing one of the newer ROMs. Try VJs. That has English t9 pre-installed so you don't have to mess around with installing it again. How do I confirm whether my tornado has wifi hardware? I have an AT&T 2125, this was one of the first to be released in the states. I have heard this has wifi hardware but it was disabled by the carrier. In the comm manager it is saying "Driver is not loaded".

I love your rom, it works great on my Cingular 2125, but I have this one complaint:
The rom doesn't recognize certain T9 packages. When I install Modaco's 14 language pack...nothing happens. My biggest complaint, though, is that it doesn't recognize karhoe's Chinese T9.

I know that vjgrace's rom recognizes Chinese T9_[karhoe] flawlessly, but it doesn't have the asthetic qualities of this version. :(

I hope you'll look into it..(maybe replace those T9 recognition files?)

I tried adding a blank (silent) startup.wav file to the windows folder as suggested in this thread, and I'm still hearing the annoying startup sound. I also tried changing the startup WAV registry key. Still hearing it. Could the format of the start.wav file matter? I used a silent 44.1k Stereo wav file of about .1 seconds in length. Anyone have other suggestions?

You should have installed vjgrace's ROM. This one has not been updated for some time.

Things to know about the joystick:

Newer drivers shouldn't do anything when the screen times out.
Autolock can make it buggy for some people.
Keypad backlight timeout can affect stick same as #1, so try pushing the volume button to wake it up.
It could be dirty, try a blast of compressed air, like you can buy for cleaning your PC.
