Guys, I know there are alot of questions pertaining to this RUU but it is the T-Mobile OEM Rom that comes on every T-Mobile Wing. This just helps if you brick it; you will be able to recover from a brick in most cases. I had a problem with my usb connection on my device after I reflashed it. For some reason I was getting "usb not found" errors. I cleared storage and it works fine now.

I've been after this file since about mid July and noone seems to have it. As a matter of fact, it seems like people have been waiting for this to release to show up. I've looked all over for this file. I'll give it a try tonight on my bricked Wing. I just don't know how you have this file and everyone else is scrambling for it.

Okay, so apparently the Wing is supposed to reboot itself at around 1% and 30% in the update process. I thought the reboot was the RUU failing, so I disconnected my Wing and got a connection error message. Whoops. In other words, keep your Wing plugged in during the update process even if it reboots.

Just figured I'd post that in case anyone else runs into the same "problem" I did.

I've been waiting for this so that I can unbrick my 1st Wing and I can use that one as a testbed for ROMS, etc. I'm not sure if it'll work on my newer (x.2) Wing, but since there's no reason to try, I doubt I'm going to ;)

I have a PTC P4350 that I bought in France. It has nothing to do with T-mobile. Can I still use this ROM?

Further info about my problem. help if you can:

I have a HTC P4350. After installing a program too many from the internet it stopped turning on. Every time I try and turn it on I get the white screen of death and then nothing else.

I now have a useless brick instead of a much needed device that allows me to translate the crazy world of Russian language on the move.

As I bought it in France but am now living in Russia, I can't get it prepared so think I need to flash it.

Questions:

1. Can I have your Rom that you were talking about?
2. How exactly do I use this ROM to flash my knackered device? Do I need a special cable or software?
3. Is it possible to use an English ROM in my French device or do I HAVE to get a French ROM? (I'd prefer an English ROM)

I'm desperately struggling without my device so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just reflashed my wing with this rom and i have same problem where it stays on .2 and doesn't upgrade to .3. I was hoping this would solve some problems. i have with the phone like sometimes i am unable to make phone calls cause it keeps saying please try later data session active but data session doesn't work either and i have to either wait it out or reset the phone for it work again.

Technically I can't guarantee you that :) . But suceess rate is 100% for me. Ie bricked 4 times and restored 4 times.Hope you won't even get into that situation

Do I copy it onto the wing first in a specific folder and then reset to have it boot? or do I run it like a cab first? If your wing is bricked, meaning it doesnt fully boot, then turn the phone off. Once the phone is off, press and hold the camera button and the comm button (looks like a dialog cloud). Turn the phone on while continuing to hold the two buttons. You should see the boot load screen with three colored bands. Once you see this, conenct your phone to your pc via usb. Double click the RUU and then follow the directions. It may not seem that your phone is connected but it will work.

The T-MO Wing RUU is the same exact version that comes preinstalled on the Wing... so it isn't exactly "upgrading"... you would just be reformatting your phone and reinstalling/reloading the current software again.

Solved this... but here was the problem:
ok my phone just sits at the tmo screen...
I've reset it, holding the camera button down and I get the multi-colored bar screen showing IPL 4.10.0002 and SPL 4.10.0000 and at the bottom "usb".
When trying to run this PDA Phone ROM Update I get ERROR [274]: CONNECTION.



My solution, plugged into a real Windows PC and tried it.. worked fine. - I was using a VirtualBox Windows XP installation running on a Linux OS. It looks like something was up with the virtual USB so I rebooted the VirtualBox... anyway. I guess sometimes you DO need a real windows computer sitting around.

Just bricked my phone right out of the box lol.

Put phone in bootloader (Hold the Soft Reset Button & Camera Button)
You will get a rainbow colored screen
Connect Phone via USB
Run the RUU installer from your computer
Let it do its thing until you are fully booted into WM6

hey i just recently purchased the tmobile wing and was showing it off to a friend of mine who has the at&t hermes. and he had actually referred me to this site. and some what showed me how to flash my phone and put these new programs on my phone, my question is what is the puu is that like a hard spl...he told me that i can brick my phone if i dont know what im doing. so im tryin to do all the research i can, beings this phone is relatively expensive. i am unsure as to a safegaurding method for not bricking my phone. i read the nebs guide to flashing i believe what the forum was called and am still unsure as to step for step what i need to do before i try to put new roms on the phone...any help would be much appreciated. thanx :)

try this. try bootloading your phone again then try to use the RUU of this wing. while doing the upgrade disconnect, reconnect your phone. wait for it and its going to tell you that its going to tell you to recover. It will flash the original SPL

I've been thinking about tinkering with my Wing ever since I got it nearly 8 months ago (around July of '07 when they first came out is when I got mine). and I have a few questions:
(1) *** answered myself and deleted ***
and (2) where did the T-Mobile RUU come from? I'm a bit paranoid about security and was thinking about just backing with my ROM, versus one downloaded from the internet. Figured I'd have to find a utility that could reflash my personal OEM ROM.

The skittles bootloader shows: (yes the rainbow colors remind me of skittles)
IPL 4.10.0002 and SPL 4.10.0000
what are these numbers? My rom version is 4.10.531.3 WWE, are the IPL and SPL numbers just some bootloader versions?

P.S. has T-mobile ever fixed the blasted memory leak on this thing or even the battery life bug when you turn all the radios off?

EDIT: Figured out the answers to some of my questions on my own.
EDIT#2: fixed grammar and made my point clearer, I think.

I was absolutely certain my Wing was permanently bricked but I just got the official rom to load. If anyone has a problem where you get into the bootloader and start the RUU update process but the status bar only gets to 1% and then the Wing reboots this is what you should try:
when the device reboots to the splash screen and you hear the USB disconnect sound on your PC (looking as if the load failed) quickly press the camera button and the soft reset to enter the bootloader again before the RUU app on your PC displays a connection error. The load finished when I did this.

I must have tried to reload 8-9 times before I thought this was worth a shot.

I suggest you follow all of the instructions given by the experts here in the forums first but if you have the problem where:
1. the RUU load gets to ~1%
2. you then hear the USB disconnect sound on your PC
3. the Wing hangs on the splash screen
4. the RUU displays a connection error message and asks you to recover.
Then I would try this - otherwise be patient and wait for the rom to load.

So I'm using Touch-IT v7.1 beta... looks like. And for some reason... whenever I get to my bootloader and start the TMo ruu... it stops at 1%, then the phone resets itself and goes back to Touch-IT start up.

What's goin on here?

Hi Guys,
I was able to use the aserg method and eventually used the hard spl method and loaded my different roms, I can load any nbh file this way but can't get back to my OEM T-Mobile rom with the exe file.
After about 1 % it reboots the phone and then errors with a connection error.
I tried hard restore, updating from spl screen, always an error.

Any advice for me, on how to get back to OEM?

I thought of deliberatly messing up a rom update so it can't reboot and trying from the spl screen (tri colored screen) but am afraid if I can't I might be stuck with a brick.

Question: the TMobile site has an update to 4.26.531.1 WWE. Can you use this same bootload method and go straight to the updated ROM from their site? I hope that wasn't a dumb question, but to me, I would think you would be able to. If so, Couldn't everyone go and Get that as a "new" original ROM? If so, no one would have any problems with different download links and still have an original TMobile ROM.

I have a Tmobile Wing and my speaker died, I'll request a replacement with the Asurion insurance.

I know I better return the phone with the stock ROM or they are going to have an excuse to charge me for a new phone.

I have IT Touch I don't know which version, my bootloader screen says
IPL 4.10.0002 SPL 4.70.Yang

I downloaded a Tmobile Stock ROM but when applying it quits at 1% with the error 260. wich means
"This error occurs when there is an “open port error” before upgrading the CE ROM image.
Solution: You can reset the device and run RUU again. If you still encounter an “OPEN PORT ERROR” again, reset your computer and try again. "

This stock ROM is just an executable which guides me step by step

Which is the right way to do it.

How long does the battery last?
I doubt that the ROM can make a HUGE difference in the battery. (Well, unless you have a program running a mock in the background.)

i got a hera 110 some programs i put on it must have put the framwork cap on it i have framwork 1.0 + 2.0 +3.5 installed and one thing says i have a framwork string,my question is which one can i take out for space the ms site says 1.0 will work for any program,,but most want us to use 2.0

If you're trying to install a third part ROM, you need to HardSPL your phone.

but like ivan said take and hardspl your cell. then you should be fine.
mine was unlocked before i did anything if that matters i dont know.
t-mobile wing on att....
still dont know which rom i like best yet. tried 4 sofar.

You can't flash back to a stock ROM after flashing a third party ROM through the normal means.
As far as your lock issue, if your phone isn't SIM unlocked, you'll get that problem. CID unlocking doesn't affect SIM unlocking.

It sounds like you're NOT hardSPL'd and you don't have a Tmobile Wing (since your SPL doesn't match either scenario.)
To flash a company's RUU you have to have the same phone as the company. You'll have to find the RUU for YOUR phone's company.

If your phone isn't a tmobile wing, you can't flash a tmobile wing RUU.
Your vendor is your phone's brand. Does it say HTC on it? If so, then it's an HTC.

I just saw original ROM updates from tmobile . com at

www . t-mobile.com / wmupgrade /

for almost all HTC phones you just need a valid t mobile pphone number and the IM number of the phone

I was absolutely certain my Wing was permanently bricked but I just got the official rom to load. If anyone has a problem where you get into the bootloader and start the RUU update process but the status bar only gets to 1% and then the Wing reboots this is what you should try:
when the device reboots to the splash screen and you hear the USB disconnect sound on your PC (looking as if the load failed) quickly press the camera button and the soft reset to enter the bootloader again before the RUU app on your PC displays a connection error. The load finished when I did this.

I must have tried to reload 8-9 times before I thought this was worth a shot.

I suggest you follow all of the instructions given by the experts here in the forums first but if you have the problem where:
1. the RUU load gets to ~1%
2. you then hear the USB disconnect sound on your PC
3. the Wing hangs on the splash screen
4. the RUU displays a connection error message and asks you to recover.
Then I would try this - otherwise be patient and wait for the rom to load.
