Hi there, I am not sure this is the right section to ask this,so please excuse me..
I have a folder in my XDA orbit sd card which is called "DE_AT_and_CH_plus_major_roads_of_WE" and contains some files that take up more than 300MB of my card. Can I delete them? Also Is the information in the SD card in the phone essential for the device?
Thanks

The information on the SD is not critical for the phone to operate, however there may be applications installed on the SD card, so ensure before you remove it that there aren't any app on it you require.

if you need more space, buy a card with more memory and then copy all files to this new card. deleting the "DE_AT_and_CH_plus_major_roads_of_WE" folder will remove all of your tomtom maps.

The tomtom navigator doesn't have maps for my city, so I don't really need it... Is there another GPS software I can use?

I like to use Smart2Go, it has tons of maps and is freeware if you don't use it for navigation. Use the maploader to load maps to your SD card. I used WM5 Storage so I didn't need to take out my card. The maploader copied the maps to the main folder, you manually need to move the folder to the Smart2Go folder.
It's freeware, you can use it for viewing your current location, for navigation you need to buy a license. I use it mainly as a map when I'm abroad, I didn't want to buy a software with maps for the entire world, that's very expensive and I don't drive a car everywhere.
