I tried to disable BatteryStatus(from today), and after some SR its still GOOD!!!
PROBLEM SOLVED
"Hello,
I have a lot of hours behind me, because of working on my problem.
I did not found any solution, but i would like to share my experiences...
Symptom:
After some soft reset the pda can't boot. B&B v4.0 os loader image could be seen...
I tried install my programs in a lot of variation, but after some soft reset, the system fails while booting...
I dont know what is the cause of the problem.
Tried flash with art_htcwwe_11240501_026790_wwe_ship, after uspl, flash with 4.0. Same.
Tried to take the device into boot loader, change the splash screen, it hepled once. After the next SR same problem.
I have HTC Artemis (from HTC, not from any distributor)
Some ppl have written for me, they are fighting with our problem, please write here...
thx;)"

I don't know if it can help, but I flashed B&B 4.0 after B&B 3.7 and I still don't have those problems. I've done about 5-10 soft resets. Sometimes it seems that it takes longer to boot, but never locked.

Hi
Did you overclock your device by any chance? I overclocked to 247 using batterystatus in the B&B4 rom and i ticked add boost. Then when i opened up file explorer, it crashed, then started to load - then kept crashing while it was booting up, kepy going around in circles, load, boot up, crash, boot up, crash.
Hard rest solved the problem, i now overclock without the new "boost" feature. Maybe this helps?

Did you try to download again (or from any of the mirrors) the original ROM file, and reflash? Isn't it possible it damaged during the download process and it makes this fault in your device?
Some people said that who can't install B&B 3.7, it solved out their problem.
Bár lehet magyarul egyszerűbben kommunikálnánk? :)

Downloaded again. The size of the file from an other mirror is the same.

Jah, lehet ezt nem töröm annyira :), Bájtra pontosan ugyanakkora, de az önkitömörítős exe amúgy sem indulna, ha hibás lenne a mérete.

sorry, it actually sticks when first rebooting regardless of any sync ((
so the problem is identical

I have the same problem.
First time was after plugging in my SD card to install tom tom.
2nd time was after uninstalling the 3.7 boot dialer.
A reflash fixes this but obviously it would be better if there was a proper fix which did not brick my phone each time I add an app!

Yesterday, it happens to me too.
But with a hard-reset I've solved the problem. :D
I think I've got the cpu scaler with the turbo boost on.

Same here...
Hard reset brings the phone back to life. But when doing a install of an app and doing a Soft Reset he dies again...
Makes the ROM as good as useless for me.
I'll try a reflash and see what happens.

Today another time.
I've ran sprite backup and when the artemis reboots to make the backup the tomtom installer has beguin to reinstall itself. The backup has been interrupted and has made a soft-reseft. Them I sohuold to hard reset.
today I hanvent the boost option, only cpuscaler was on.

This is mostly due to the kaiser home plugin - it does not like to be hurried on boot. So no overclocking on boot - so untick remember last cpuspeed and overclock after reboot and do not use traylaunch part of bs - also causes lockup. Works on my rom.

But I've reporduced the problem without overclocking...
I think it's not an overclock problem. :(

Mmmm,
I think I fixed it!
I re-flashed my device and this time I did not modify the boot screen (World with sunrise HTC). So O2 is displayed but that's ok as I do not have any problems anymore!
Tengo, TomTom, SKTools, SPB Diary, MoDaCo Nodata and WM5torage installed and still a Soft Reset is no problem!
I'm a happy man!
ps. I also use an Exchange server (via gprs) for my mail.

I have also over clock, pc synch and exchange synch. I also had to re-flash. however, seems that it works very well if I flash HTC boot image after B&B4 before any other apps. now,I have BB4, HTC boot screen and all apps I like, and ... have SRed many times

The splash screen couldnt be the reason for crashing.
(i think there is a chance to brick again after some soft reset)

Same thing happen to me, after instal everything on my device, after couple of softresets (becouse of installs) i though that eyerything is ok. But when i was trying to change biotouch setting, and then soft reset the device it didn't boot enymore. That's one bug in tom's rom that i have found, only one, but irritating. I think that biotouch setting was the reason of lockup aftersoft reset, hopefully i have full backup before this change, so i make hardreset and restore everything

I don't think its HTCHome or batterystatus - i soft resetted after installing a newer version of pocketcm, and i got the dreaded hang at the pdaviet screen.
BUT, I had safe mode installed.
Removed the new version of pocketCM - still hung
Disabled HTCHome plugin - still hung
Disabled batterystatus plugin - still hung.
Ended up doing a hard reset, good job i had a backup made :)

i had lots of crash at startup (and needed to re-flash) then i understoon that the problem is in batterystatus inside the rom...not only for overclock but i think is a problem with the new feature like cpu usage or some records for calls\sms... just because if i only keep battery charge % its all ok..if i switch on other options...when i reset im stuck on startup screen (win mobile black one)
my solution is remove batterystatus from today...and install the old one

Hello question to every one who's suffering from either:
hanging on second boot screen
and/or
screen staying black after coming out of standby
was wondering is these problems are only happening on the t-mobile (mda compact iii) version of the artimis or are all versions effected?
Thanks

I have an T-mobile version with the same problem. I tried different things. It's occurred two times (with the 3.7 Rom i had the sam problem). I have Tom Tom (SD installation) and further the "Wizard Retouched phonepad".
I'm removing the Tom Tom install files in de root directory of mine sd card. Did somebody els tried this? Maybe it's a problem that TomTom wants to install it twice, with the result that the phone hangs???....

 I have the same problems guys.
I am using Artemis P800W. I think the same as mechle idea. I test many way, much time, and I think that main problems of hang on 2 screen from setting of batterystatus.
so I disable b/s by nothing setting b/s and untab b/s at today setting, then install many programs and everythings seems running stable and SR is woink, non hang.:)

Wel i have the same problem. This problem started with the old 3.7 rom. This rom stucked in de bootloadeder a lot of times when i performed a soft reset. So i went back to the 3.4 rom, and everything worked perfectly.
2 day's ago i installed the B&B 4.0. I had a stuck bootloader 2 times. I soft resetted a lot of times, and for about ten ten times, there was no problem, the last time it went wrong.
I had nothing installed, accept for tom tom. And i synced all my contacts.
I think there is a small change between the 3.4 and 3.7. Because the 3.4 rom works perfectly and the 3.7 stucks in the boot screen.
Since there is no fix at this point, and no solution, i will go back to the 3.4 rom. Touch flo is nice but a little useless anyway at this point

I havent been any problems with 3.7 while booting (the rom was more instable then the 3.0, but its an other thing), now with disabled BatteryStatus, after one day and a couple of SRs, everything is ok!

a precisation about my before test...
pda stuck for me when i add some program in traylunch of BS inside the rom...
when i installed the older version it overwrite the default one removing it...
so..
i tested with 5 soft reset without adding anything in tray...switching on all other options... (omap scaler too) and all was ok...
at first soft reset with "hybernate" in traylunch my phone bricked up...
so i think that is the problem...when phone try to load programs for traybar have a sort of error with different programs...maybe is only for hybernate but i dont think so

Hi guys, i noticed this problem when i upgraded from WM5 to b&b 3.7
First time it happened i was syncing and installing onenotes, it got to the point where it restarts its self then failed to load, i assumed it was batterystatus overclocking at the time, reinstalled from bootloader (hard reset didnt work) and all was well without batterystatus,
Just yesterday, 3.7 had one of those hissy fits where it keeps trying to connect to GPRS, my radio was on the device was getting real slow so i just softreseted it, an bam, stopped.
So, im thinking that its perhaps something to do with an active process that doesnt dump its self on powerloss an instead corrupts some boot files.
anyone have any thoughts on that?

finally Got my first brick phone. I shutdown the phone using the power button to remove the SYM card. Turned the phone back on after I put back the SYM card. After a while I relized it hung on the second boot screen .... Soft reset didn't solve the issue. Hard reset solved the issue ...:) I am glad it's fine now.

Not sure whats going on, but something major seems to corrupt or whatever and causes the hang at soft reset. Yesterday, I had to soft reset again (couldn't send/receive mail anymore), and it wouldn't even start the safe mode application. This is a bit worrying, as this is one of the first apps that's started on reset, just after it changes to the pdaviet splash screen.
Like others, i decided to disable traylaunch completely to see if its something in that plugin causing the problem. If nothing happens for a week, then i suppose it could be a possible fix.

how do you disable traylaunch ? I tried to quit batterystatus (from the todayscreen, quit BS) but I still had the crash problem while booting... anything else to do to really DISABLE BS / traylaunch ?

Same here, it seems that enabling BS traylaunch makes artemis stop loading after soft reset, had to hard reset to get everything back to normal.
