Fastest phone application?

I've noticed that the phone application is one of the slowest application on my Hermes. Since i'm a heavy professional caller, sometimes it is annoying. Especially the building up of the screen goes sometimes slow, it takes up to 2/3 seconds before the phonepad is there. When things have to go fast, this is too long for me. Is there a 'light' replacement for the phonepad or do i need to switch to a 'light' ROM? Or is this just one of those things i'll have to live with?

I'm currently using Black Satin Normal Edition.

As far as I remember in Satin there's an app called "pimp my black". Search for an entry "Show video dialer" and disable it (unmark it). After a softreset it should be faster.

You can also use schaps configuration tool or other tweak tools.
