Also the YOOBAO workshop ,The Chinese manufacturer. They claim this battery will last 90% longer than the original. Oh and the battery is also 90% bigger than the original so they supply the customised back battery cover.

So to sum on, there is a better battery, at least it looks like it has better battery life, so its your choice to get another or to get this one?

:D I'd rather buy another phone with higher cap battery  I bought elf for it's size. If they manage to fit a high cap battery in the same case that would be more attractive to me

Well if it is 90% larger then I expect it to last 90% longer or so.
I think extended batteries are the ugliest add-on to a phone.

Lol... i´ve seen a back-up battery (1100 mAh) from this manufacturer (got the same label) on ebay a couple of days before. Selling price was 1,99 Euro (!!!) without shipping.
And now tell me, what quality you can expect for a price like this? Maybe you should order a fire extinguisher too :).

The new CDMA Touch will have a more powerful battery to handle the 400 mhz and 3G (1150 mAh vs 1100 mAh). If they are the same size then I will buy one of those batteries and stick it in my current Touch.

Yep. Seems to be the better idea, if 50 mAh makes the difference.

Rather buy a spare than have that hump on the back. So far I've been pleasantly surprised with the life I've been getting out of the Touch.

Or you can try this:
http://www.proporta.fr/F02/PPF02P05.php?t_id=2725&t_mode=des
Really cool, and you can charge your device and other like iPhone, etc. it's bigger than a spare battery, but also lasts longer, you can take this and your phone and it'll hold a week maybe

Quality? What quality? Lol... 2400 without extending measurements... sure ;) Please use your common sense and a rudimentarily knowlegde of mobile batteries, which can be found easily by using google for example. Of course, finding common sense this way is a little bit harder :).

As we know, there are many Battery problem nowadays.....
I personally dun feel safe using this 2000mAh battery......
If u look carefully at the label on the Voltage Rating.....
the correct label should be 3.7VDC, but this label is showing 3.7VCD !!!!
How do u think about this battery???

well, i give then kudos for trying at least but that sharp step on the back of my touch to accommodate the bigger battery is not exactly what i would want .
If i am working long periods on my touch i just plug it into the mains and use it while its charging for now until at better battery (with same size) come out on the market, its just a matter of time.

I agree to the fact that larger capacity batts with bigger size look bulky. I personally bought the Touch because of it's size. It was the main reason for sacrificing GPS. If it did not matter why not by a brick from start?
What I did was buy replacement batteries, through ebay. Paid 1c for 2 batts and 12$ for shipping to Europe from the user "lee262online". The only flawd of these batts is that they only charge while the phone is off.
But the first thing I did was buy an akkufresh foil (google it), that expands battery life and performance. I sincerely reccomend it as these japanese really are using outerspace technologies. Not only it rejuvenates your battery to last as it did in the first months of it's use, but if you're an environmentalist, such as me, you can consider even a small contriobution to energy saving and thus reducing global warming. I know it sound silly, but if everyone would have done their best, we would not be in such a big trouble with our planet.

hi all,
regarding high capacity batteries, i found this one on ebay...
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=230247902952&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=013
has anyone bought it? used it? any feedback?
it says it's a 2200mah battery but makes no mention of a modified battery cover like some of the other high capacity batteries around.
so the question - is it the same form factor / physical size as the oem battery? can that be physically possible? and still be 2200mah? or is it a gimmick?
any feedback would be much appreciated

Well... i bought this one on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2200-mAh-Battery-FOR-HTC-Touch-P3450-Elf-O2-Nova-S1_W0QQitemZ220230346025QQihZ012QQcategoryZ75446QQ cmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713.m153.l1262#ebayphotoho sting
It arrived today (after 28 days of waitting - it´s shipped from HK) and i´m, charging it for the 1st time. Specs seem to be correct 3.7VDC.
It worked fine, i just put the battery and turned the device on. It even had a little bit of juice still (4% according to touch´s battery meter). I´m gonna use it for a couple of days and compare battery lifetime to see what happens.
It doesn´t look THAT bulky after all. A bit hard to fit on the original HTC cover but i can live with that. I just hope it doesn´t explode on my pockets lol
----------------------------------
UPDATE:
The battery charged up to 13% and the phone turned itself off. I replaced with the original battery and it turned back on normally. WTF might have happened? In the back of the battery there´s a lot of chinese words and 4.2VDC writen. I find this awkward ´cos in the front part it says 3.7VDC 2200mAh.

Maybe it costs a bit more, but this brand is more reputable in Taiwan and they do use Japanese battery cells. More importantly it uses the original back cover without extra thickness.
The stated capacity is 1350mAh. It's roughly 20% more juice in actual usage comparing to the original one bundled with HTC Touch (1100mAh).
So it's worth a try especially if you can't live with the extra thickness that ruins the Touch design.
