CID Unlock not working

Hi All,
I have not been able to unlock my Cingular 8125... to upgrade the thing to WM6.
Yip ran the lockwiz a few times... it did give me some write error though.

My phone is a G3. I can use different sims. But I cannot CID unlock? I have used lokiwiz and awizard... what else can I do to CID unlock?
I am currently downloading your rom.I have not tried any roms as I am quite new to this. I have flashed my 8125 to - IPL1.01 SPL 3.08 gsm 01.12.10 os1.5.4.2.
I have also tried several time to downgrade to button... no joy, the spl wont go. I have upgraded to both ipl/spl3.08 and still cannot upgrade the rom.

Did you read the sticky with the guide to an easy and safe unlocking by Dr. Puttingham? If you did then you should have read with more attention.

You've messed up your phone's bootloader. It's not supposed to have such different values. If you didn't unlock it before moving to SPL 3.08 you won't be doing it now as it must be 1.xx for lokiwiz and other tools to work.

Go READ threads of others in same situation as you and be sure to have a FULL battery before starting the flashing process.

great thanks for that... so since my spl and ipl are not the same I need to try to downgrade my spl to the same version of button?
Bud I have read and read and read... and now I have only posted. I see that people in my predicament look for a rom called 1.18 from cingular and apparantly that fixes the problem so I can downgrade and re-run my cid unlock. I will read through all of Dr Putting threads where I have also posted to try to resolve this. Thanks for you constructive assistance.

well the only one I have been able to get is this one, from Dr putting

I cannot find the 1.xx cingular rom which apparantly you need if you dont follow dr p, goodies properly.

Apparantly if you goto http://www.htcwizardweb.net/node/161 and register there is a pathetically slow download link for 1.8x... which should be able to change the ipl and spl to the same thing.

hope this helps you. Please dont run or upgrade anything on ure phone till both the ipl and spl are 1.x that where I made my mistake.
Being a techie I guess thats our problem always wanting to upgrade with out rtfm.

Downloading, then downgrade to ipl/spl 1.xx, then cidunlock then uprade to ipl/spl 2.xx then update to wm6.
Am i correct??

yip thats exactly what I am doing, hopefully it will work, please could you post ure results. Pity bandwidth here in South Africa is so terrible else i would be able to download at home.

Maybe try to flash with button from dr p sticky... but remember before you can do anything else the like run lokiwiz, the ipl and spl need to be 1.xx

wow, i'm impressed :eek:. You passed from asking for tutoring to giving good tips in no time. well done m8 :) . All you need now is to manage the successful downgrade.
Are you sure your phone is still locked? Check CID status with mtty.

How many times did you have to flash with 1.8.11
I have tried twice already and my spl is still 3.08...
Maybe downgrade to Wizard_Love 2.26? The rey the other way?
Any input is kewl...

All fixed on WM6 :)
Note to all good people, once you have flashed with 1.8.11 <-- this is only on a cingular 8125, even though the spl is 3.08, you can run your lokiwiz to CID unlock and then flash.

hmm :rolleyes: not sure if the SPL is really 3.08 although it shows that.
The CID block protection is applied by SPL so if lokiwiz worked it means that the SPL did downgrade ;)

Glad you fixed it though.
