no need to hard reset or install new Rom, just soft rest

I tryed first 12 MB and blicked my eyse 2 time and did a SR and my 8MB version was 12 MB Page pool ( not verry good for My Prophet Touch) to litle free memory
then tried the 6MB and blinked agen 2 times and SR now my 12 MB version was 6MB ..... I'm amazed this is pure rocket sience

it is realy eacy to use

copy cab (EnableRapi.cab)to the phone or use some app that can install cab trough active sync
install it on phone
then extract the other rar into some folder on pc
then sync your phone with .... run the mb pool.bat that you want ...
wait 2 seconds and do a softrest now you have the page pool you want

as usual these command line flash tools are not compatible with vista 64bit (16bit software?) but with the use of vmware and a xp running within it, it worked without any problems :)

I should warn to backup data using spd backup plus or any software so if failed you can reinstall the ROm and restore your old settings

ok here my experience with this:

first i made a 4mb pagepool on my prophet with pdaviet 4.0.0.0.6 (8mb default).
after some time the device crashed and i tried it with 6mb. on the street i listened music and suddenly the sound was gone: crash!
i checked, if the 299mhz aren't too much. so i decreased the frequency to 286mhz which was stable for several month: again a crash. so it wan't 299's fault.
at home i applied 8mb back and it was still not stable.
i did a hardreset and restored monday's backup: still unstable.
then i plugged the prophet to my xp laptop, flashed the nvid rom, flashed the pdaviet rom and flashed the older radio rom. then i restored monday's backup and now it is stable again.
conclusion: guys, USE THE BACKUP.bat :)
somehow the 8mb pagepool from this tool was not the same default 8mb pagepool from my rom. i don't know why, but there was this difference.

i am not a coder or somthing like that but i can tell you i guess what you told us has nothing to do with that change-pool stuff. i got the same problem many times before, with asergs wm5 rom and with pdaviet rom 4.0.0.0.6. i only had this crash with the white screen, if i overclock my device to 276 with batterystatus plugin and click too many times and too fast on different apps on my device.

after deinstalling battery-status or switchin to a lower cpu-rate, around 221 f. e., everything works fine again.

More than memorizing offsets it's important to understand the data zone where the page pool value is changed.
In the Wizard flashes (cooked or official) there are always two identical data patterns, one of which is for the page pool value. Although the one to change is always the second pattern it would be important to understand the differences.

most probably because that ROM you're using has that value at another location.

If paradis_pal would tell us more about how he got to the location where the page pool value is stored then writing a routine to find the location and write the new value would be an easy task to achieve ;)

ok. How did you find the pool page value? By a simple ROM comparison?

With the zone i'm referring to the area (data) where the page pool values are stored. The data must have some meaning, i think.

It all depends on the ROM having the PagePool value at 0x37855A. Official WM6 have it there, WM5 have it at 0x3EC8AE but with cooked ROMs one never knows :p

I'm about to release a new version of my tool that will do it automatically without considering a fixed location, i.e., it searches for the pattern :D

OK lets just say that somebody bumped his PP to 12mb and had problems installing a bunch of CABs (Live search, Opera Mobile to name a few) and then this guy thought he'd change his PP back to 4mb (which is what teh NBD 9.1 supposedly is) to see if that made a difference. But now when he tries to do that and he runs the 4mb bat file...it just sits and copied the dll and sits...and sits...and sits.

Then in a panic the guy hard reset his phone thinking that would save him...and now he can't install enablerapi either.

What would you suggest that guy does? Oh no its not me...I would have used the backup. But lets just say someone did that what should he do? ;)

All I had to do was tear my house apart to find it and I'm all set. Got it installed and am now installing x's 2.26 as a base for wm6. Whopeee!! Good thing I have a dash as a spare (See honey I told you I needed it!!)

check your total program momery, and compare it with the first post, I tried to make it easy for bignners, that only what I did

by the way the page pool size is taken from the program memory so that why it affects the total momery

but it will be slower to read the ROM in low page pool size, I recomend 6 or 8 mb, it kind of caching rom into ram

I currently have TNT5.0 installed and every time I try to change the page pool, it seems to create more problems with the phone then anything else and just slows down the performance, even with higher page pools.

0x36855A is the correct page pool for OS 5.2.1620. Just change the bat like this:
pdocwrite 12.nb 0x36855A

I have the same problem, cabs do not install. The problem is that i cannot set it back either. It is also not possible to re flash the phone.

what ROM do you use? did your page pool changed? if not then restor.bat but did you backup.bat first

I use the TNT 5 rom and unfortunately no backup :-(. although phone is connected with activesync and it actually syncs I get an error that no communication can be established with the phone. :-(

fixed it re flashing in bootloader mode. WST 4 does the job without the need to change the .bat files.

But out of curiosity, I am experiencing some memory leaks.. memory tends to be depleted after opening and closing the applications. Anyone has this problem?

this is normal, there is free program to compress the memory after this, I think it is called hypernate I think
but if you need the best way to have it again, soft rest

Okay I admit I am a newbie here, or let's say PagePool is a new vocabulary for me. I have some questions here because I am so confused in looking for the answers.
1. How can I know if I will be using the PP ROM 4.0.0.0 or 6.0.0.0? I am using Prophet Touch X by Gullum and my device is i-mate JAMin.
2. Do I really have to install the EnableRapi.cab because some posts in this thread says that if WM6, do not install?

I have read this is for ROM 4 & 5, but in my HTC touch shown ROM 1.11.707.1B WWE; Protocol Ver: 4.1.13.42; ext ROM: 1.11.707.101. Does it save to my Touch?

This will work only on m-system DOC, what is your DOC type? Read it on the system information > hardware > flash chip type

im in the same boat as this guy. i would really like to change the pagepool of my device, but i really dont know how to get started.

it says my ROM version is: 1.12.651.1 its of course using wm6 (CE OS 5.2.1620 Build 18125.0.4.2) <--is that what im supposed to go off? what rom does this mean i have? 4.0.0.0 or 6.0.0.0??
im using a CDMA Sprint HTC Touch (Vogue)

When I ran this tool it seems to be fine but there is no change in memory storage. I still have 50mb available.
I have tried few other tools including this russian smart pagepool changer and it said that my device may be CID locked ?
I have a prophet, G4 with SPL 2.20, and shadow wm6.1 rom.
I cannot run polish application called automapa with the europe map because it says that I have out of memory. Polish map is smaller and works fine. The strangest thing is that it needs only 15 mb of RAM to run properly and I have 27 mb FREE all the time :( When running automapa I have 16 mb left and it gives me an error then.
I don't know why I can't change this pool size and I think that this application need more of this shared memory. I have been trying for all day so far...2 times cleared storage, "changed poolsize" about 15 times trying every option provided so 4, 6 ,8 and 10, still no results.What is wrong ?

sorry to disappoint, but im not entirely sure this program/app is for real. it seems as no one has ever really gotten it to work, and NO ONE EVER offers ever any support for it..

If you can find the start address for the PP, it should be relatively easy to find.

I was using Shadow 2.0 wm 6.1 TE and now I swiched to EVO8en and when I try to change my pool size my device hangs...I wait up to 5 minutes, still no confirmation on the screen, soft reset, my m600 works fine and page pools still the same :) I installed Enablerapi.

Maybe there is something wrong with my device ;/

I think the address I have set it to write the page pool to is wrong. I shall try to implement a detection feature so that it will work on any device although this may take some time.

I think there may be an equivalent for the Elf, but this will probably do nothing due to the aforementioned different addresses.

I don't think there is one...

I think you have to edit the pagepool when it's a ROM image rather than on device.
