Backlight turning on during alarms and new push mail regarless of settings

Hello,

I've searched exhaustively to no avail.

Currently using WM6 ROM 3.57.502.1 Radio 1.48.00.00
and PhoneAlarm 1.61.1 build#176

The device is behaving properly when notifying me of missed calls/text/v.mail (as in NOT turning on the backlight, just notify), but IS turning on for the following two situations:

1. When a new email is received. I'm using direct push. It is set NOT to notify me at all, both in PhoneAlarm and Sounds/Notifications. As such I get no audible notification, but the backlight still turns on.

2. When a reminder comes on, the backlight activates as well.

Of course in PhoneAlarm, I have "Don't activate backlight on alarm" checked, but it is ineffective with the above two.

The annoyance is that it turns on in my pocket and a bunch of buttons start getting pressed (by walking, etc) and when I finally look at the device all hell has broken loose.

Exact similar problem with me. In my case the backlight turns on for reminders. One thing is strange. When I have a reminder the backlight turns on. I have set the reminder frequency as 5 minutes and the backlight to turn off in 3 minutes. So what happens is that for the first three times the backlight would come on but not for subsequent times.

I had also discussed this with Bruce on the phonealarm forum but to no avail. He believes that phonealarm has nothing to do with this and there is something in the device which is causing this.

Can somebody please check if your backlight also comes on only for the first three times.
