Bluetooth headset not recognized with new ROM?

I have now exchanged two 8525s. My first one had white screen issue but worked great with my BT Plantronics 510. Got a replacement. No white screen, but does not detect BT headset. Got ANOTHER replacement. STILL does not detect BT headset. Is the new ROM flawed, or is it just not compatible with BT Plantronics 510?

Just to be sure (as someone will ask) you are putting the headset into discoverable mode?

Does the new 8525s detect other BT devices?
