Ref my post #248, I seem to have isolated the problem with the MDA's undemanded 'power on'. It only occurs when you use the 'LOCK' feature which prompts for a code if the device is unused for a while. With this disabled the problem goes away...

Hi,

I have downgraded to the shipped wm5 rom.

I then have coppied and ran both Cert_SPCS.cab and EnableRapi.cab on ppc.

I then run upgrade rom.bat from a folder on c:\ however it seems to stop after copying the touchflo rom.

It says

3 partitions, 2 binary partitions
customerid=00000000 uniqueid= 00 00 00 00 72 35 01 07 1d 1c 08 a0 17 01 06 54
copyfiletoTFFS(os.nb:0, 0, 03900000)

And then does nothing.

What am or have i done wrong?

I know this is a Charmer thread, but does anyone know if this cool Rom will work on a Hermes or if it could be made to work on them? I have read almost half of the 250 some odd posts and not found this out yet, so if someone who knows could give me the rundown that would be great. This looks like the most clomplete working rom with the HTC Home, CUBE, & Finger Slider all working in ONE!! Would love to have it on my phone to!

- repeat after using standard htc charger (because it resets)

I have had this same problem.... or so i thought... I reviewed this feature straight away, and found that it only seems to work when sending a sms/mms, not actually in programs, where the phonepad, no matter how much you chose it (within programs) it would always revert to the standard (small) keyboard, as if this was default. I don't know? i am not the creator and cannot comment, if this is how this feature is supposed to be?

If the keyboard you installed doesnt work (after clicking on it from the list, it reverts to standard keyboard) this is what you have to do (not only on charmer).

If you have your keyboard installed, uninstall it. Soft reset. Install it once again. After the installation, soft reset. And now, when the system boots up, enter the PIN. Go to Start->Settings. And know pop up the available keyboards list, choose the one you like. Wait a few seconds and it should be ready.

maybe anyone could help... i have a serious problem with my charmer after updating...

- german model of charmer
- "installed" ruu_compactii_aku3.3_38222_382117_026921_tmo_de_ge r_ship
- "installed" Charmer_Touch_ver._2.1

After full charging the battery it takes the charmer about 6 hours to completely discharge the battery (only Phone, Active Push & Data Connection are active)

All the rest works excellent...

i checked this. When the green lamp is active and the charmer still connected using usb then the + appears/disappears the next hours.
If the charmer is connected the whole day and disconnected throughout the night (only Phone, DirectPush and DataConnection are active) then in the morninig the battey status is 0%.

That's not so easy as you think. I know that Total Commander can enter extended rom and it worked for me but I wanted to unlock extrom and use it to install programs. I tried few extrom unlockers and now my extrom looks like damaged filesystem. Is there any method (without reflashing back to WM5 and again WM6 - reflashing only WM6 doesn't reformat extrom) to fix extrom and unlock it?

Do you mean that in the package there's program for cleaning ext_rom? I didn't find it. So I tried clear and write ext_rom (part of upgrade_rom.bat without flashing OS). Files were copied, unfortunately autorun.exe and finixtouchphonepad.cab have 64kB size. Ext_rom still looks like damaged filesystem (a lot of directories with some strange signs in directory names). Of course it's not possible to delete these directories.

Can you help me any way?

I've written that almost 20 times now. Copy cert_spcs.cab and enable_rapi.cab from the TouchFLO upgrade folder to your charmer. Install it to the main memory. Restart. Run the upgrade again.

Thanks for your attention vlodeck, but I solved the situation myself in the meantime. It seems like the problem was that my charmer was cid-locked. I've used the johnny rom to solve the problem, and unlocked it with lokiwiz3.
Now I'm running TouchFLO Charmer, it's really cool, grats!

But I don't have any file called wceload.exe on my computer.

and there are references to drive e: in some lines. Ist this correct?

1st thanks vlodeck for the beautiful beautiful fast rom. Its lighting fast. As far i found no problems ever, except a tiny lil problem.

I cant charge my charmer anymore. Both Via usb or using SMPS Charger! instead charging its actually discharge my battery. How funny!

I tried battfix cab. No help. Now i will try it removing the sd card.

Any help or tips will be very helpful.

Hi vlodek, or anyone can help... i think my device is G3 (.0000) i was originally on AKU2 and tried lokiwiz02b to cid unlock it gave me an error (cant remember what, something about a dll file, so i tried Lokiwiz03 and it gave me unlock code and i unlocked the sim, and so i thought CID, i tried the Touch2.1 upgrade and it didnt turn green and carried on giving me the ITWrite disk error. and didnt work, i restarted it it didnt get past bootscreen, so i put it into bootloader and get a official rom from t-mobile, it updates to 100% completes and now i'm on AKU3, i probably shouldnt of upgraded it??? now if i cant get either lokiwiz to work and i have tried the wizard No ID RUU with your vlodeck004.4 nk.nbf but it loads fully and wm5 just loads again. help please

I have a g3, spl 2.06.0000 Charmer. So as far as I understood the forum, I cannot do CID unlock using lokiwiz2.
An usual suggestion is to use NO_ID RUU for flashing the firmware. The problem is that I am getting ERROR [240] FILE OPEN. I guess that the reson is that I need nk.nbf file. The question is where to find it - there is OS.nb file in the Charmer WM6 TouchFLO package. So, what should I do?

i did it!!! just without cid unlocking, i just copy BOTH the rar files from the folder to your device, and run them from your pda, then soft reset with stylus, then run the "ROM Upgrade" it seems like it doesnt do anything on screen after it copies the ext rom, but it is! do not touch your device at all, just wait, wait, wait (up to 30 mins) trust me it will work... (your device just freezes whilst it updates, just leave it alone and go and take your eyes off screen for 30 mins)

But while upgrading to WM6 after some Time Active Sync has lost the connection and the Upragebat sais:

Finally after a struggle of continuous 5-6 Hours. I managed to get rid of that German Rom.. WuhOOoOOOooo!
n CREDITS GOES TO VLODECK. I tried almost each an every ROM related to Charmer without asking any query here in any forum.

Upto Sim unlocking everything went like a charm but then comes the devil part.. Rom upgrade.. Result to my many attempts were:

Again Failed... :D

but never give up..
I tried almost 6-7 Roms including a Prophet one too but never worked.

Any WM5 rom will do. It's the same procedure as you would flash from WM5 to another WM5.

You first have to install EnableRapi.cab and Cert_SPCS.cab. Then the Upgrade should work.

is WM6 not good on the Charmer? I'm trying to upgrade but when i use the cooked ones nothing happens, i just get errors!

The link at the top is a 2007 release of the rom from t-mobile and it's designed for charmer not like the old one that was designed for compact II so this one is newer and faster.

Thanks for that great ROM. I could play with that cube for hours...
But now I got some questions:

1)How can I add Contacts to that Favourite People Menu
when I push "+" the charmer shows no contacts(perhaps because they're saved on my sim, but how can i change that?)

2)I got it running with a Vodafone Card but my GPRS settings don't work. I always get the message that the modem has disconnected. I tried many different settings but it won't work.

3)Can I install programms on it just like on other WM5/6 ROMs because I tried it with Poket Quake but it doesn't work

4)Where should I put my music files, that I can listen to them with the "built in" Player?
