Im moving to Shanghai next week and Im aware that some radio versions work best or worse depending of the region you're in.
So the question goes to Chinese residents.
Which radio version is more reliable to you?
And as a bonus question : Do you have any dictionary software to recommend for English/Simplified Chinese? ;)
Thnx!!!!!!

I am using radio 1.50, quite good.. Likewise, for dictionary, you can consider Jin Shan Ci Ba Dictionary..

I use 1.41...
I have a friend with a hermes who has 1.43 and really likes it.
I dont get great reception with 1.41 so I would suggest 43...
i know that 50 is out but i dont know anyone using it....
also i've heard mixed things about 43....
anyhoo.
i highly suggest plecodict by pleco. you have to pay a little bit for it 50$ (and i'm a huge free-software guy... so it was rough for me to cough up), but if you're interested in really learning the language it absolutely the way to go (just the oxford version will work just fine).
any other questions let me know .

I've used 1.38 with good results in Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen. I had a few reception problems with 1.41.

I guess the radio versions seem to be the same as North America then :p
Cause I did try 1.43 before and had people telling me they tried to call me and got my voicemail when my phone was on.
Or I had dropped calls when attempting to dial out.
1.41 was so-so as well
I guess I'll stick to 1.40.30 ;)
thanks for the dictionaries suggestions. It's not really for LEARNING (as I will be learning in class anyways). It's more for assisting me in everyday life.
