02 XDA Trion Upgrade to WM6

O2 have a free upgrade from WM5 to WM6 on there website for the XDA Trion.

I have just upgraded my phone and it didn't brick it - Which is always nice (I have had 3 phones off my insurance that I have "lost" due to bricking... they make nice paper weights :-)

The install is simple it also customises your phone with O2 branding stuff.

Well my serial number is apparently not a Trion.

{Edit} Seems something broke. The URL it should load is

http://member.htc.com/ruudownload/O2UKRuuDownload.aspx?sn={YourSerialHere}&refer=http://member.htc.com/index.html

but put your serial where the {} are. Looks like there might be a convoluted system to make sure you can't bypass the damn serial checking system....

Quick question -

Did this just upgrade your device or actually flash it? ie am I going to have to re-install everything afterwards or will it mostly keep the stuff on the phone?

They don't seem to mention taking backups, but I take them regularly (obviously) and am wondering if I ought to wait until I have the installers with me.

Hey how can I install the upgrade if I only use a mac??? I use missinc sync to sync my data etc but how about installing apps?

Dont tell me I cant do it?
