Can´t Update!!! Help me, please!!!!

Hello, guys!!
I'm from Portugal, and i have a Qtek S200 G4 that i'm trying to update to WM6, but i can´t!!!
On my desktop i'm running Windows Vista, so i don't know if that is the problem!!!
To begin, i tryed to make a dump of my Actual ROM with the software posted on the WIKI, and followed every single step, but when i can´t make a connection with the PDA, it always fail (CID lock???)!!!!
But so on!!
I started trying to upgrade to WM6 (Gollum's Rom), following the instructions on the first post. Downloaded every file, and let's do it!!
Wrong!!
I start with the upgrade to the WM5 NVID ROM posted there, i connect the phone to the desktop, syncronize (with Windows Mobile Device Center) and start the update utility. Follow every single step, the phone automaticly starts in bootloader mode and ERROR (comunication with device failed)!! It forces me to recover to original rom!!
I thought trying direct update to WM6, but i'm affraid, because every single post recommends upgrade to this rom first!!
Now i'm lost, i don't know what else to do!!!
Can, please, somebody help me dump my original rom an update my phone??
Must i remind that i'm using windows vista!!!

Boas,

O Windows Vista não gosta do ActiveSync.

Utiliza uma instalação do Windows XP e creio que resolves o problema.

I did use the original NVID WM5 ROM that I downloaded from this site (FTPsection) that one works oke for me with Vista, instead of the suggested Step 1 Rom.
After that the Update.bat from the cooked ROM works just the way it's described.

Yeah everyone ;)
We consider this not work from Vista without risk and tricks, so many use a XP machine or a virtual XMP machine etc.

If above works, please let us know, would be nice to use Vista to flash for a change, the problem lies with the RUU utils, most of them just are nut Vista compatible. It all comes down to finding the right RUU util for each flash job.

Well you can use Microsoft Virtual PC to create a virtual PC running XP. I believe it is possible from there, another option is using VMC for doing the same, I know it works there (has been mentioned here before).

Or create a dual boot pc so you can boot into XP when needed ;)

Hello!!

I've finnaly made ir, i've already upgraded my Prophet to WM6 (PDAVIET Touch ROM)!!
Now i have another proble, i hope you can help me with!!!
I'm installing some software i need, but i would like ti install it on my storage card, but during the installation i dont get the prompt to choose where to install!!!!
How can i make installations on my storage card???
