Hi. The program isn't artificially limited to WWE but I can't rule it out as the source of this error. Could you send me a reg dump of your dutch cruise? Then I can try to replicate the error. (PM me for an email address)

I can choose the icons I want for the App Launcher and the preview works good. I can even generate the anim and the preview works good.

but when I rest the PPC and try to use the cube all the icons I added return into black boxes and there is no anim anymore...
I tried with brn pics and with png pics but nothing works...

Any help from any one would be great.

I'm having this too! Although I cant get the program to run, the target path should be TomTom on my storage card. Yet touchsettings keeps changing it.

I've had a read through, tried to put back the defaults by using the "about" tab. This wont work. I've also tried to copy over the old exe of the ApLauncher but my phone wont let me overwrite the current one. I'm a little stuck and a little bummed I've managed to break to phone for its just over 24 hours old!

Who gets the village idiot award?! :P

Problem aside, this is a really cool program. I'm sure I've done something stupid so if anyone has the answer could they let me know or PM me?

I have installed the 2.25 version on my dutch Touch Cruise and i get this message. Can't open because its an old version. Download a more resent version and i have to press cansel or continue and what ever i choose it shuts down and thats it. I really would love to use this program and hope there will be a solution for this problem. Keep up the good work. :)

did you install a cooked version of the cube? i have impression that Touch (Elf) are using .png instead of .brn for aplauncher program icons. :confused:

if you're familiar with registry editing, you can still "fix" the problems manually (it can take time). details of the right expected values for each key can be found here:

as carlos has warned before, v2.25 is still a beta. trial should be done only after a full device backup, so as to allow restore in case of problems.

The CAB installs fine but starting the program results in an access problem dialog about Mediahubmini.exe.

I've found same symptoms as some others stated in previous messages.

Just to answer them, i think there is no easy way to use this nice app as long as you have MEDIAHUBMINI.EXE stored in ROM. The installer can not patch it, naturally. You cannot rename it manually neither.

I believe the working installations of many of us are related to files like mediahubmini.exe installed through extended_rom's, not the ROM itself. So, they can be overwritten.

I wish i am wrong above. Therefore, any counter-reply to let me get Touchsettings work fine will be highly appreciated.

Does it work? As long as it works, don't worry about it. This is beta software, and there will always be a glitch here or there.

Mine has been running in Debug mode forever. I can still make any of the changes I need, and it has no effect on the phone.

Does anyone know what I've managed to do to mine? I've just got question marks instead of letters. If I change the names using Touch Settings then the amount of question marks change to correspond to the amount of letters in the name.
Also, when I open an app from here, it opens both the default app as well as the one I've tried to change it to?

this is answered in older pages in this thread. It's a problem with fonts, and you have to put again Tahoma.tff o similar to windows directory (search for it, i'm not sure)

After read this thread, I have some questions.
I have the original ROM on my Sprint Touch/Vogue(CDMA).
I tried to load ver 1.29 as the DL site stated it wasThe latest stable beta with support for the Sprint Touch.
But when I tried to load it, I get a message about "does not have sufficient system permission".
I read that I need to delete MediaHubMini.ink but I see that I have MediaHubMini.exe. I read that others are having problems deleting the exe file just like I am having problems deleting it or renaming it.

I loaded 2.25 on my Alltel Touch which is also CDMA. I did not have to delete any files, however I made sure I had all apps stopped and not running. Been working great so far.

Version 2.25 is still in beta stage, and of course, there for several bugs that they are still trying to iron it out.
Best is to get the stable version, which would be 1.29

I was able to loaded the 2.25 version.
It's working but in debug mode.
Very thing seems to be working fine in debug mode.
Everything is working except the modifying of Quickdials.
Maybe it's because the pictures are jpg file?
Otherwise this app is great.

It's not so much that you change the colour of your cube.

When you create custom icons, you can use whatever background you like. Each icon is actually part of the picture. The icon itself, and the picture around the icon.

Here's an example, then you just "cut" out the icons before converting them to a .brn file.

Great program! I'm running the latest beta on my Vogue (Sprint Touch) but for whatever reason my 6-app side doesn't want to display right -- the bottom row keeps reverting to 3 apps instead of 2, overwriting the links I have continually told it to apply to the bottom row. @first, congraz for this app, I belive its great, but it does not work with my HTC/MDA Touch

After reading all this postings in this threat, i have still some problems with this software

I have downloaded and installed V1.29
The tab "about" told me that i have a Spring
The Version 2.25a-pre told me that i have a Dual (so... what do i have ?)

I tried to use the brn files out of this threat (icon.zip) to change the icons for this 2x3 side (email, SMS/MMS, Browser,...)
I unzipped it to \icon\*.* (on the phone, not on the card)
After save and soft-reboot, the Icons are gone :-( only a black square @ the possition where the icon should be. The apps behind this icons could not be loaded. There is a error message (Warning, try to translate this message from german to english)
The file "" could not be opend. It has no cert or a component could not be found. If the problem appears, try to reinstall)
When i try to set back the original and ubgly icons from T-mobile the icons are not comming back and the apps dont wonna start.
The other Icons/Animations are working (i copied the files into \Windows)
So i have only problems with this AL_0x(_HL).brn files

think i am going to Hard-reset my phone (again..)

I found and read about the trouble with Cruise / Polaris with the animation.

It's only because the Windows folder is write in uppercase in the registry.

Apply the reg after activate the animation and that's work.

I D/L'ed this cab...Cube touch settings v2.25a-pre.cab from http://ww2.fatattitude.com It has an error after install and soft reset that says "Touch Settings An Error occurred: This beta has expired - please download a new copy from www.fatattitude.com" tried the other zip got errors. I wanted to change the appearance of the HTC Touch Cube to look as though it was clear and see the today screen image while in use. SEE>>

the image was missing from the page so do a Google image search for "Prophet Touch VII" it has an example from this GENIUS Gullum who somehow made this actually semi/transparent or with a different semi/transparent appearance.
Any help to make the cube look transparent as though u were seeing my today screen through it would be great. Hoping theres a senior member to help us with this.

Just got me a brand new htc touch dual..wanted to change the cube stuff so downloaded the touch settings program.....the newest beta does not work and tells me that the demo period has expired so took that off and put on the older version - this works---except---- first of all it says ' cannot read existing quickdial contacts' then launches the program..changed the music to point to a different music program and now that particular cube screen is black except for the words ( no nifty icons ) anyway back to the touch program --when I try the cube tab it kicks up an error and disappears fast ( too fast to read masses of errors ) then closes touch settings.
has anyone else suffered from this ? as the program itself looks ideal but not yet good for me.

downloaded and installed the exe you pointed me at...... however still got a strange problem going on.
I can now get in and make changes however when I make the changes the following happens.
change the task app in applauncher to flexwallet pointing it at \program files\flexwallet\flexwallet.exe then saved it...but the system keeps reverting to \windows\blueflexwallet.exe
all the apps have stopped working because they all seem to point to \windows\blue<appname>.exe

any ideas ?

I've just installed your app and seems to be quiet good. I can change the name of the single parts of the mediahub. But there is one problem I can't solve - even after searching a lot in the forum:

If I click on Photos there is always this ugly Windows Photo and Video started... If I change the path with your app to the HTCAlbum, it opens HTCAlbum, but the Windows-version is still being loaded, so 1 click - two applications open. Can somebody help me with this problem?

I have the same problem as the squirrel - I have linked the photos part of the media hub to s2v photo viewer, but still get the old Pictures and video default program opening and coming to the front when I click the link. In touch settings itself, the selection drop down which gives a choice of default, media player or custom in the case of the music link is greyed out in the case of pictures and videos - I don't know if this has any significance!

Again, any help would be much appreciated.

This is just a fantastic application!
I have some probs on my HTC Touch. I would like to make a 3x4 App launcher or/and 4-sided cube but I can't get these options to work.
When I tap "add/remove" In the App Launcher tab nothing happens.
When I tap "layout" I receive a warning saying that my HTC Touch Software is not recent enough. I can make the the changes I wan't but they are not saved.
I know others have had similar problems but I can't find a solution anyware.

Comments or solutions?

I'm going crazy here guys! I've tried overwriting the .png files , i've tried relinking to another .png in Registry I've done soft reset after soft reset. I've hard reset and reinstalled i've used Touch Settings and uninstalled and reinstalled i've used task manager to close everything tflo related and powered off i've done everything except take finger paint to the screen to change the icons on the 3x2 ap launcher and have gotten NOWHERE!!!

Dear All Users of 'Touch Settings',

As many of you have noticed, I have been absent from the board for a while now and the beta of Touch Settings has expired. This is because of the following:

- Time: With a full-time day job and other web/mobile app projects that I want to pursue, there is simply not time to put in the required hours to continue development of this application. In particular, taking it the next stage to create multi-sided cubes whilst maintaining backward-compatability with older software would have required a 20-50 hour push.

- Complexity: With HTC releasing ever-newer versions of TouchFlo and ever-more-complex devices, it became an impossible task to continue to support configuration of all these devices with one application.

Consequently, I have decided to cease development of the application with immediate effect.

I will be posting a final non-expiring beta version on the FatAttitude Site later this week, and on this forum. I am unlikely to release any source code due to several incidents of plagiarism on this site. If anybody wishes to formally take over the project and has genuine coding experience and the intention of working hard at it, please contact me to discuss this.

The current state of development is that the software works perfectly with some devices and less so with others. I can confirm it works perfectly on a UK GSM Touch (Elf) with the iCube CABs installed. It remains (and always will <sniff> ) a beta and therefore you should never use it without backing up your registry first, as some users here have found to their cost.

Finally, a note to some certain forum users out there (you know who you are)... ...please remember to have some patience when you visit sites such as these. They aren't here to provide you with endless free software, this is a community of people who exist to help each other develop for mobile devices and exchange ideas. Comments such as 'this is crap', 'why doesn't this work?' etc are not only unhelpful, they're downright rude. If you feel that way, go and code it yourself!

And to the rest of you... many MANY thanks to all the people who have supported this software - in all, over 30,000 downloads from the site! And many more due to the inclusion of Touch Settings in countless custom ROMs.

For those interested, my new application is a WinMobile puzzle game which is multi-platform between Windows Mobile .NET and Silverlight. It is called SquarePeg. (www.squarepeggame.com) (Yes, that's why I've been so quiet - I've been busy learning how Silverlight, C#, WCF and WF!) I'd love some help with testing and level design and will post separately over the coming weeks.

Hello Carlos - I have only just bought a HTC Touch to repalace my dead SPVM600 and found this amazing work you have done. Its a great shame you cant continue as it looks superb. This is my first post but I am amazed given the amount of other posts in this thread no one seems to have thanked you or even commented on your decision. Still I spent months making custom icon sets for SPB Pocket + ( http://www.spbclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17148) and see 100's of downloads but very little thanks so I know how you feel.

I am waiting for you to post the final non expiring set before I make an attempt to install it and keep checking everyday. Hopefully you will do this final post soon so I can see for myself how good it is:).

Does anyone have this working on their Vogue? I had previous versions working and it worked flawlessly then in one of the last upgrades it didnt work right with my phone. I would get these black lines between the icons when the cube was spinning and then some of the icons werent placed properly. When I would change the icon position in the customization part these black icon things would show up OVER top of the actual icons so I just stopped using it. But if another Vogue user is using this with success I would give it a try again. It was/IS a great program!

I don't think we were suppose to ever upgrade; use the (E) version for the Sprint Vogue.

I've just stuck with that one. 'cause like you said, that ones always worked. I just DON'T want to have to go in and change all the REGEDIT's, this little GUI app. rocks for eliminating that...

Well I waited to try the final version 2.4 that Carlos has just posted on Fat Attitude and the result was not too good. I did a manual install and the nice interface came up and I selected my changes but when i press on the icon 2 apps load - the default and the one i want eg: Video loads up original plus TCMP, music loads up Touch Audio plus WMP. I have read the thread but cant see a cure so I have done a hard reset (backed up with SPB Backup so no big deal).

Still my thanks to Carlos as it seems to work for most people and the interface is very nice - I am just unlucky as its not working for me. And as Carlos has stopped dev I will need to look for something else.

:confused:Anyone have something simular to recommend that mods the cube (I am not into ROM updates so just software please)

I installed the touch settings on my HTC TOUCH DUAL, i changed some icons of the application launcher. This worked not correct.

So i decided to uninstall it.

But after uninstall the cube application launcher buttons is not working correct.

So when i press on email or sms/mms or ie or calendar or commmng etc.
i get an error message, that de file " cannot opened. etc.

How can i resolve this. Do i need to change the registry settings.

I tried installing Touch Settings too. Installation went fine, but when I try to run the program, it crashes with a TypeLoadException.

I found out that MeidaHubMini.exe is loaded in ROM, but I managed to copy the one from Touch Settings over it. After rebooting my phone, I found out it didn't make any difference.

Does anyone know if it's possible to use this applicatie if MediaHubMini.exe is in ROM and, if so, how to fix this?

I have the same issues, though my cube will work. The animations no longer are 3D, always the 2D slide. Replacing the MediaHubMini.exe with the unpatched does not rectify this, and the Reset defaults is greyed out.

Does this have to do with the registry settings? What would be required to restore the default, besides a hard reset?

Sorry to mention this, the development may have been ceased, but it also seems that no support at all from the developer is available, and if someone like me had some problems and wants to get back to the original cube...there is no other way as hard reset.... pity

I've installed the program on my Touch Dual. I just wanted to change the browser on the quick launch site. After closing and resetting the cube dosn't work properly. The quick launch site opens, but if I press any application button I get an error message. How can I restore the original cube? Unfortunately the program does't have a "restore defaults" function.

I'd love to get it working but I'd be happy getting the device back to the original setup, which I have also been unable to do. If you are having problems with your Photo, and Video buttons activating the default and the modified application, you need to use the old version 1.22.
I wasnt able to get anything to work 100% properly with the 2.40 on my unlocked HTC Touch Elfin WinMo 6.0 from factory. After uninstalling and restoring the MediahubMini.exe I was able to install 1.22 and now my buttons only boot the modified application upon clicking.

Hello to all, pretty new to this great forum, so gia hi to all.

I have installed the touch setting and tryed to change the music played from on the cube from the audio manager (as defoult) to "core player", I have simply chosen "custom" and looked up in the folders the core player.exe, now this is not working, I read in at the beginning of the post thet the original ROM dos not accept any other media player (I have a Touch dual). At this stage I wanted to convert back to defoult so using the audio manager when pressing on the "music" of the cube bit I stil get the same message error message..... how can I put the core player or go back to the defoult audio manager????
