Ok, I have seen many people still don't understand how to flash to WM6, so here is step by step guide with pictures

Karhoe,

Let me congratulate you on this fine guide. However, you might want to put in some edits (since this guide is focussed more towards noobs):

The process is entirely possible in Windows Vista as well. I upgraded my phone multiple times to different builds on a Vista system without any problems. You need to follow this guide (http://www.modaco.com/RUU-Vista-done-u-t252977.html)

Step 1) Please add QTEK 8300 and Imate SP5m to the list of Torando devices.

Step 2) Please add WMDC for Windows Vista users so that some noob user doesnt try to install AS 4.5 on Windows Vista.

I agree though that SPV-services wont run on Windows Vista. Overall, a fantastic guide ! Great job !:D

It runs perfectly on XP, you will have difficulty using Vista, first of all, Super CID can only be performed on an XP system

Seems I have problems on step 9. I see bootloader skin and activate usb connection but it doesn't sync! the phone is not visible. help

Hi,

I get that Tera Term error msg as well. "Cannot open @£$€" (USB). Running Vista. My phone is already SuperCID.
When connecting the USB (and entering bootloader-mode), Vista tries to install drivers for the device but cannot find them, maybe that's the problem?

Any clues?

Maybe it doesn't work that well in Vista as I have said.

Try to do it on an XP system

I've passed 8 steps without a single error, enabled ActiveSync USB connection, but ActiveSync doesn't recognize my device whatever I do, unlike Katik wrote 2 posts above!!!

Now I just see the boot screen, with "USB" letters on the bottom if I plug in the USB cable.

Several times I tried to disable ActiveSync USB and run ttermpro.exe -- "info 2" works OK, but no luck after I enable it again.

Please tell me how can I establish ActiveSync connection??

karhoe
2nd September 2007, 02:17 PM
The reverse process of disabling the USB connection

avs333
2nd September 2007, 02:34 PM
What process? I just check/uncheck "allow USB connection" in ActiveSync, do I have to do something else after I made "format BINFS", typed "ResetDevice" and enabled USB in ActiveSync??

I tried to connect/disconnect the cable, turn the defice on/off (pressing the Camera key or not), nothing helps so far...

avs333
2nd September 2007, 03:46 PM
Had no luck under XP after some tussle and reinstallation of ActiveSync, but finally succeeded under Vista...
Kinda exciting experience I must say.

The ROM is cool!

I can not for the life of me get this working!

Tried unlocking the C600 I bought off eBay both via the official Orange Developers thing (My IMEI is not recognised) and using the SDA Unlocker tool.
This says that my phone is not unlockable.

Anyone got any ideas?

Help! Please?!

While not a computer noob, I am hardly an expert with the ins and outs of my SDA.

Your guide was exactly what was needed to make the move to WM6. I ran into the same problems listed here - stuck in bootloader after the ResetDevice, but managed to get past it.

Thanks for taking the time.

I wanted to thank you for the guide. I've been waiting for a WM6 update since it was announced. I finally did it yesterday, and got it running on my SDA.

Right click and save target as

Then it is a html file, which just opens in IE on the phone.

Is it correct that this should be xml? That if you rename to xml and then execute that it works?

The manual is GREAT. I did NOT format BINFS while I was afraid that this would make me loose the OS and without OS it becomes difficult to connect to AS to use the RomUpdate utility.
It worked perfectly fine without formatting.

Thanks! Robin

You need to format BINFS as it will clear more space. Save as .cab

karhoe,

Thanks for the thread. I have had to go back to my Tornado (TMobile USA SDA) from my Wizard (TMobile USA MDA) because the USB port on the Wizard busted. I had fixed it up with WM6 and all the extras so this thread for me wasn't so much about "how" to get WM6 on the SDA as it was getting the induvidual files for T9, GSM, Office, etc. I did read the entire thread however and I must say it is one of the better, if not best, tutorials I have seen. Very easy to read but technical at the same time.

Great work.

If you format BINFS, is it correct that the phone then does NOT boot the OS anymore (boots into bootloader only)?

Thanks!

Robin

karhoe
20th September 2007, 07:15 AM
Yes, exactly

robincop deel 2
21st September 2007, 01:35 AM
Ok, that is clear also.

Then now the question, to which I did not know the answer and therefore did not format BINFS;
How, if your phone does not boot into the OS after format BINFS, can you connect to the phone using active sync? Active sync does not connect to a phone in bootloader status does it?

Thanks again, your answers are much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Robin

"Step 10 - Now extract WM6GSMUpdate which you have downloaded earlier on and run RomUpgradeUtility, you should see this

Click "I understand . . ." and then click next, then click "I completed the steps. . .". Hit next and it will verify your information. Then click Update and then watch as the meter moves on your device and your screen. Do not do anything silly now as your IPL, SPL and Radio are being patched now. Anything unexpected which happen could render your device useless. This process will be quite fast, around 1-2 minutes. Once it is done, it will reboot by itself and you will be returned to the bootloader."

hello i have by mistake bypass the above step and flash only the new greek rom. Is ok to keep the old radio? can i flash the new radio as describe in step 10 now?

Save the file as .cab

The 'save link as' or 'save target as' options are disabled (greyed) when I try. But cant we do this: The link 'Extras' is fine. Also the Extras.zip contain button fix, T9English etc along with several other utils. Cant we use these cabs instead? Thanks for your time!

Hey, Many thanks to the creators of this ROM and guide, I have managed to get my o2 XDA-IQ upgraded. :D

To try and help the people with ActiveSync problems, I never actually got active sync to fully work at stage 9. I removed the battery from the phone for a few seconds, got the bootloader back, hooked up the USB (enabled it in activesync) and moved onto step 10. The update still goes on dispite activesync not making an obvious connection (well it did for me), windows just finds it as a Smartphone USB Sync.

Hello! Currently testing the WM6 rom and it sure works pretty good on my Cingular 2125:D . One question though. On the home screen (after pressing the House button on the phone), the clock is set to show 12hr time not 24hr time but when you go and click start, the time or clock goes to the upper right hand corner of the screen. It is cool and all but when it passes 1pm noon, the time on the upper right hand corner of the screen becomes set to 24hr settings:confused: . I tried checkig the clock settings and verified it to be set to the 12hr not 24hr.

Any one know the reason why that is?

Thanks!

karhoe
13th November 2007, 11:34 AM
Yes, the clock on the bar is a software actually, not a component of the WM6, there is a reason for this, if you have another PM word there, it would take up alot of space, and you wont have enough space there

I had no problem upgrading my 2125 to WM6 under WinXP, however, when I try entering a new contact, or any other type of text, it only enters numbers. I have no alpha-numeric, just numbers. No T9 or Symbols and no option to change anything - even in text messaging.

Hey. I was wondering if the "svpservices.exe" part is working for anyone else at the moment? I've installed the Cert.cab, worked like a charm. But when I start the spvservices.exe I get what seems as a IE web page timeout. Nothing happens. Would apprectiate some help :)

edit: Never mind. It suddenly started working after several hours of doing exactly the same. By the way, using a Virtualbox virtual machine with XP SP2 and IE6 works like a charm if you are having trouble with Vista. It took me 20 minutes to do this after the spv problems, and that includes settings on the new device and contact synchronization.

The only things I want/need now are:
* A way to format the numbers displayed on incomming and outgoing calls. We don't use the writing (xxx) xxxxx-x format in norway.
* A Norwegian localization of currency and dates (Norwegian UI language not bad either)

karhoe
19th November 2007, 03:23 PM
To format your incoming numbers, it depends on your regional settings

To SUPERCID, make sure you are using IE6 and XP, if it still fails, means the server is down. SUPERCID is an online based application

Hope that helps

henrik.gundersen
19th November 2007, 06:27 PM
To be honest, I looked on some topics here on localization, and they were a bit cryptic. Maybe I should just live with the number format :) If you have some brilliant way of fixing the numbers, I'm all ears.

this tutorial is relevant to upgrading from WM5 to WM6

but what is the way of conduct if one wants to upgrade, for instance, from "[[V6]] Windows Mobile 6 for Tornado Perfect English Edition"
to the "WM6 English 5.2.116.18120 Standard v3.2" ??

especially when the SPL and radio also should be upgraded...

i do not want to experiment too much not to brick the phone
so please put here some step by step procedure

NiTroGenious

"Upgrading" from one WM6 ROM to another:
Step 1 - Upgrading the SPL/GSM (optional):
Download the upgrade (http://rapidshare.com/files/66560820/Tornado_GSM.02.61.01_SPL.2.00.0014.rar), extract the files and run the ROMUpdateUtility.
Step 2 - "Upgrading" the ROM:
Download the "upgrade" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=343358), extract the files and run the ROMUpdateUtility.:p

I've been cruising with WM6 Perfect Edition for about a week now after following your guide. My phone is an i-mate SP5m. Unlike the previous WM5 AKU2 ROM (don't know the version number, sorry), WM6 is stable and fast. I would recommend the upgrade to anyone willing to take the risk of bricking the phone/voiding the warranty. Especially if you have been having stability issues. Many thanks to the people who saved my phone from an early retirement.

edit: Forgot to mention that my camera really improved also. I used to get really blurry pictures with any lighting, and over exposed or saturated images with good lighting. I'm getting crisp and nice images now. Thanks!

wicked OS, much slicker than wm5, update went smooth, them extras, some are already installed via the rom upgrade if am correct, still quicker than wm5, installed it on Imate SP-5.

update:

after a successful upgrade, i am experiencing slight problems, the device auto turns off the phone feature after being idle for a while, and it kinda hangs there on home screen, i have to press the power button and select the 2nd option to reboot then everything gets bck to normal, other that its workin perfect.

hoping som1 looks into this, or has som1 else had this problem

There's been reports lately that the website is down (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=350650). Maybe that's your problem. I've used the tool with IE7.

problem again. im using the rom posted on this forum. was working fine for around 3 weeks. now i have a new problem with the battery. it dies very quickly. if i had charged it 100% at 8am ; by 6pm the phone battery is over. even if id just keep it in my pocket most of the time.

i tried a hard reset. and now the screens blackens in 5 secs.

is it a problem with the rom?

my fone is imate sp5

i tried installed the new rom given in karhoe's website. everything was done.
but the problem with the battery still exist.

i had to start the fone more than ten times in order to get windows started. the fone switches off as soon the imate logo or win logo comes due to lack of battery.. the battery wen i installed the rom was around 75%.

after around ten tries with a time span of 20 minutes the fone entered win and has a batt power of around 75%.

is by battery screwed or worse or less?

OK, I upgraded and it is a very nice upgrade, indeed.

But one thing; the camera seems to be worse then before! Anyone else notice this? THe lightness/darkness adjustment has no effect. Even putting it in night time mode, I can't get it to lighten up enough to take a halfway decent pic of something indoors to sell something on craigslist, which is something I really need to do!

Any better camera options out there?

Folks, I followed all the steps, all the way upto the RomUpdateUtility.
The rom update was very quick in my case about a minute or so. The progress bar went to 100% quickly both on the PC and on the phone. After that whenever I boot, the phone gets into the boot loader. Also, the T-mobile splashscreen still shows up before it gets into the boot loader. (Btw, I am talking about the TMobile SDA and an attempt to flash wm6).
How can I resolve this ? Thanks for your help.

No Karhoe, I am just trying to sync my Outlook contacts/calendar to the phone. I bought the SDA because it promptly synced with my outlooks. Unfortunately, the honeymoon lasted only for 2 or 3 months. Later, they updated the Exchange software in my company and I could not sync anymore.
I was hoping the move to WM6 would solve this. So far it looks not possible.

Ok Progress. I deleted the server entry in ActiveSync and newly created one. It now syncs with my Exchange server. After a year or so of disconnect, i am happy to be synced up again. Well worth the effort.
Also, I installed Yahoo Go on the phone and now my Yahoo contacts and Outlook contacts are synced up as well. Thanks Karhoe and all.

I don't think he meant flash using WiFi, I think he meant to ask if WiFi functionality will work after the flash, if that's the question, yes, WiFi will work after the flash.

I'm stuck on bootloader screen, after step 8. I did everything in Tera Term and it worked just like the guide. But when I typed ResetDevice, it shut down and then loaded back into the bootloader screen. Now I have no way of connecting with activesync, like it says I should in step 9. What's worse, when I go to Tera Term now, and select "USB", it says error, cannot open.

I'm sure there is a simple step I'm missing here, but I'm at a loss. I've flashed many phones before, including my Wizard, without a problem. Any help please?

Yes, because if you format BINFS, there is nothing else to boot to. When I'm in bootloader mode, and have ActiveSync USB enabled, it does NOT say it's connected for me, but it just detects in the Hardware Manager, and I just go ahead with RUU and it works just fine.

I'm attempting to apply wm6 upgrade to my cingular 2125 per your guide. All went well until step 8.

When I run ttermpro.exe I click the "Serial" button, then select USB from the list in the "Port:" field, then hit the "OK" button...

This is where I get the "Tera Term: Error" window with the following comment: "Cannot open xxx" (where "xxx" always seems to be a bunch of different symbols).

If I hit the "OK" button in the error window I move onto the terminal window with the flashing cursor, but I can't type anything?? (The title box of the terminal window says "Tera Term -[disconnected] VT"

I would like to know how to move on from this point, please help.

Ok, I have seen many people still don't understand how to flash to WM6, so here is step by step guide with pictures

I have run out of free bandwidth to host my guides because many people are using the guides to upgrade their phones, the guides would not be available anymore till next month. Please donate if you can via paypal to karhoe at msn.com for paid hosting. The free bandwidth utilization are getting more and more, soon the host would not be able to sustain the free hosting anymore (http://karhoe.byethost33.com/content/view/72/56/)

http://karhoe.byethost33.com/component/option,com_weblinks/task,view/catid,20/id,29/

Below is the text only guide, go to the website above for pictures, I cannot attach all here as the forum only limits 4 images.

The guide here is a little outdated, please proceed to my blog for latest update, ill update this post later

Download these files first
WM6GSMUpdate (http://rapidshare.com/files/50384600/WM6GSMUPDATE.zip)
LATEST! WM6 OS 5.2 by Nitro very stable and fast, Feb 3, 2008 (http://rapidshare.com/files/88742283/Tornado_WM6_Platinum_Edition.rar)
Extras (http://rapidshare.com/files/50531264/Extras.zip) - contain free softwares such as office mobile, windows live messenger, etc

Step 1 - Make sure you are using a HTC Tornado device, it is also known as Dopod 577w, Qtek 8310, Imate SP5 and Orange SPV C600. Ensure that your battery is charged up to at least 50% (80% recommended). A typical HTC Tornado Noble looks like this:-

Step 2 - Ensure you are using Microsoft Active Sync 4.5 (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/activesync/activesync45.mspx) or later. Connect your device via USB. If you are using Windows Vista, you do not need to install Active Sync, instead your PC comes with Windows Mobile Device Centre, if you are using Windows Vista, follow the guide here . However, your device must be SuperCID first (step 4), and SuperCID process must be done in Windows XP.

Step 3 - Ensure that your device is application unlocked, if you are unsure whether it is application unlocked or not, it does not harm to unlock it once again. Download SDA_ApplicationUnlock.zip (http://karhoe.byethost33.com/myfiles/SDA_ApplicationUnlock.zip). Then execute the exe file in it. You should see something like this. The purpose of running this application is to ensure that you can install any unsigned 3rd party application (which is the tool needed to SuperCID in the next step) . If your device is already application unlock, you can skip this step.

Step 4 - If your device is SuperCID, you can skip this step and proceed to Step 4, if you have no idea what is SuperCID, chances are your device are not. First, download SPV-Services (http://karhoe.byethost33.com/myfiles/SPV-Services.zip) which is the software you need to use to SuperCID. Extract it to a folder, let's say on a desktop. You will see three files in it. Cert.cab , TyphoonNBFTools.dll and SPV-services.exe. Copy cert.cab to any location on your smartphone and install it.

Step 5 - Now run SPVServices.exe which was extracted in Step 3, you should see this. RAPI Init was successful means that your ROM is ready to be patched with 16 bytes of data to allow it to be flashed with any ROM, by clicking on Set CID, your warranty is void.

Step 6 - Ok, now turn off your phone, remove the USB cable, and disable Active Sync USB connection. Open Microsoft Active Sync, click File -> Connection Settings -> Untick allow USB connection

So now that you got your device turned off, remove the USB cable.

Step 7 - Access the bootloader. Once the phone is turned off, hold the camera button and insert the USB cable after that. Wait till a 3 colour screen appears, this is your bootloader.

Altenatively, you can access the bootloader by holding the camera button and the communication manager and then turn on the phone.

After a second, comes the bootloader

Step 8- Download TeraTermPro (http://karhoe.byethost33.com/myfiles/TeraTermPro.zip), extract it to your desktop and run ttermpro.exe. Select USB

Then, type 'info 2' without the quotes. Then, hit Enter, this is what you will see

Notice the word HTCSuperCID, it means that your device is SuperCID and you can flash any ROM, even if its not meant for your device which could destroy your device. Next step is to type 'Format BINFS' without the quotes, this will format the OS in your phone. Remmember to type Format BINFS and not Format only as that would wipe out your IPL and SPL which is your bootloader as well. If you do not see HTCSuperCID, it means that you did not SuperCID properly, repeat step 5

Step 9 - Now you are ready to flash your device. Enable back ActiveSync USB connection, refer to Step 5.

Step 10 - Now extract WM6GSMUpdate (http://rapidshare.com/files/50384600/WM6GSMUPDATE.zip) which you have downloaded earlier on and run RomUpgradeUtility, you should see this

Once it is done, it will reboot by itself and you will be returned to the bootloader.

Step 11 - Once you are back into the bootloader, extract Andot's V6 Perfect English Edition Windows Mobile 6 for HTC Tornado and the rest is pretty the same as step 9. Run ROMUpgradeUtility, you will see the same thing, click the same buttons and upgrade. But this time ,you are installing Windows Mobie 6. This process takes time, around 10 minutes will pause at 99%, just be patient. Once you are done, your device will reboot once again but this time, your device will be loading Windows Mobile 6.

Step 12 - Almost done, follow the setup instructions on your device, then install T9 English.cab (http://karhoe.byethost33.com/myfiles/t9%20English.cab) for english input, you can install other language, find them here (http://melgurth.ovh.org/) .

Step 13 - If you are using Dopod 577w, Qtek 8310, Orange SPV C600, I-mate SP5, you need to install this file (http://karhoe.byethost33.com/myfiles/SP5%20Button%20Fix.cab) to enable Contacts and Messaging button. If you are using Dopod 586w or Imate SP5M, you need to install this file (http://karhoe.byethost33.com/myfiles/SP5m%20Button%20Fix.cab)
Then extract the content of this zip file into your /Windows folder in your smartphone
http://karhoe.byethost33.com/myfiles/Shortcut%20links.zip

Enjoy Windows Mobile 6

Note - Typhoon is not Tornado, don't flash Typhoon into Tornado or vice versa, around 5-6 had done so and ended up with an expensive paper weight

You have to open active sync when the device is connected, right click on active sync in the tool bar,Click open active sync, click File, click connection settings, takes a few, then untick, allow USB Connections.clik OK and then restart tera term.

Doesn't seem to help. no response from Tera Term. I read on in the walkhtrough and tried the "Lokiwiz.exe" alternate SuperCID tool. This seemed to work as described, reboot and all.

Next I went to the WM6GSMUpdate ran started to run the upgrade utility. Again all as descibed until th eprogress meter screen. The phone turns off, bootloader comes on, and then a pop-up warning on the desktop "ROMUpdateUtility has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Now what?

Did you extract the ROM first or did you just run it in the archive?

Yes, I extracted the ROM and ran it from the new folder. I thought I had realized my mistake when re-reading the guide. I thought I had sucessfully completed step 10 and simply hadn't realized I needed to start step 10 by resetting the phone and running the wm6 update. Same result. Phone shuts off > Active Sync shuts down > Bootloader screen comes on > but the progress bar on the desktop doesn't move and after about 20 - 30 sec. the windows pop-up error window telling me "ROMUpgradeUtility has encountered a problem..." If I sellect the "Don't Send" button on th error window the ROMUpgradeUtility closes. I did check the windows task manager to see the status of the ROMUpgradeUtility and it says it's "Running" as long as I don't hit any button in the error pop-up window. As soon as I do hit one of the buttons the ROMUpgradeUtility closes.

I tried this, hard reset the device to factory setting and then ran the official upgrade utility available from Cingular (just as it comes, not all the utilities in your guide) and it behaves exactly with all the same problems I'm experiencing! I can't understand what's wrong. Is my device unflashable?

I think I mentioned before, I could not get TeraTermPro to work (step 8) so I used the alternate method running the Lokiwiz MS-DOS Batch File. It seemsed to work exactly as described so I assume it coverred everthing that is supposed to happen with TeraTerm Pro in step 8? TeraTerm didn't work with Active Sync connection "on" or "off" - I tried both.

Is it normal when running the ROMUpgradeUtility that Active Sync shuts off?
None of this seems to make sense to me, this is not as straight forward as I thought it would be, but I'm not ready to give up. I'd really like to complete this upgrade now more than ever, just so I don't end up "defeated".

Any thoughths?

Try to ugprade at other PC

Success! Tried it on my old crappy computer at home, updated active sync, etc... Ran through the entire tutorial again, TerraTermPro worked this time around, had an error first time around with wm6gsmupdate (step 10); tried again and it worked! Alright! I get to play around with a new phone (wm6.1 even!) this weekend.

Thanks for your help! Take care...

You can find TMO WM5 on FTP here on XDA. File name is: Tor_TMOUS_10140_191916_10900_SHIP.exe or google for it.

@Karhoe: Does Typhoon show on Bootloader "TYPHOON" same as tornado does? If so, would you mind a suggestion? On oth Typhoon and Tornado Guides, could you include a notice saying...
"Before using this guide, go to Bootloader and confirm your phone says ______. If not, Do NOT follow this guide as you will end up bricking your phone." or something of that nature. I recently helped someone who bricked a tornado by accidentally following typhoon instructions. This might be a way to avoid such accidents. :) Oh, btw, no matter how many times I've flashed, I always end up reviewing your guide ;)

Step 6 - Ok, now turn off your phone, remove the USB cable, and disable Active Sync USB connection. Open Microsoft Active Sync, click File -> Connection Settings -> Untick allow USB connection

So now that you got your device turned off, remove the USB cable.

I did something wrong. I guess I unplugged the usb cable before unticking the USB connection on Activesync. The thing is that after the format, the phone just starts in bootload mode. The activesync does not recognize the mobile, so I can not flash it with the ROM Update Utility.

Thanks for helping!

Hi
Fantastic instruction set. Ran perfectly with no hiccups. I tested all I could. There are two things I can no longer do, voice tags and infra red. I have heard that voice tags are missing from WM6 and wonder if anyone has fixed that. The Infra Red is, I think, a bug. My phone says it is there and I can turn it on and off in settings but I have tested with other IR devices and it is definitely not issuing or receiving.

My phone is a Tornado(DVT) with TI OMAP950 cpu.

The free bandwidth utilization are getting more and more, soon the host would not be able to sustain the free hosting anymore (http://karhoe.net/htctornado)

https://www.paypal.com/row/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_flow&SESSION=NxAGizPUqs5JvzmgEnttvY4_LbGsU98bE17uvW5joo LDPRk3R09z0Pheezy&dispatch=5885d80a13c0db1f1ff80d546411d7f823b5265b6 559fc2a7aad94320363ab57/

Why I can't download teratermpro, t9 english it keeps on redirecting the sites what could be the problem. Where could I find the direcft link to it with no redirecting? I have dopod577w and want to try wm6.

It worked fine for me and I voluntarily downgraded from my TyTN II to this fine little phone.. No more greasy touchscreen, I love it!! Get rid of the TyTN and buy a separate TomTom.

One remark: I got the message in step 3 that the phone was unlockable.

I first had to change 2 settings in the register as described here: http://amitranjan.wordpress.com/2006/04/28/unlocking-imate-sp5/#comment-885

After that, it all went fine. You may want to add this to the preparations you mention in your guide?

I have no Simlock.
SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe is not working for IMATE SP5 or QTEK 8310. I finally got it unlocked using the following files.

see attached files, and follow the steps below to get it unlocked.

step1: copy the SP_AllowCertificateInstall.cab to the phone and run it via file explorer, it should say (succesfully installed) after you run it

step2: run the HTCUnlock-CVS application, keep clicking next until its finished.

step3: Now run SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe and I promise you IT WILL WORK, and it will NO LONGER says (this phone is unlockable). It will UNLOCK IT!!!!

Karhoe please please change ur guide's application unlocking step, SDA application unlock always fails on mobiles with official WM5/2003 roms, I had typhoon before and I already had pointed this out to you that SDA Application unlock doesnt work.

To all other guyz just install HTC_application unlock and run it, dont press any key when it is unlocking, then run SDA_unlock on your pc. HTC_application unlock worked for me on my old typhoon and worked on my Tornado too

this is perhaps 4th time I am correcting you, please correct your guide

Hi,
it has been a while I hadn't used my Tornado... Mainly because WM5 was only able to freeze, the radio was crashing (letting me without phone until someone gone mad because of the fact I wasn't answering my cell, ...)

At the time, it was impossible to flash my tornado. BUT, thanks to you guide, and your patience for having written it, I'm back on WM6 this time, and definitly, the phone is more reactive (really less laggy than on WM5) and, for the moment (hope it will continue ;) ) working really well....

In other words, Thank you very much dude....
