Yes it can, I had it two days ago. Just run the WM6 RUU of your native Herald language. then upgrade to the OS you wanted to flash, remember, always flash the official WM6 first before you flash an OS the ASerg way!

You have to put your device in bootloader mode, do this by pressing and HOLDING
the camera button, then press soft-reset key.
Then connect to PC via USB cable, no need for ActiveSync connection.
Then just run nthe RUU upgrade. happy flashing

Mine won't boot too. :( Please help.
Try a soft reset first, press the soft reset button under the volume slider, if this does not work, try a hard reset (remember you will lose all data!)
to hard reset press and HOLD the camera button, and press soft-reset once.
If this still did not work, then just flash to your native language ROM

I understand it perfectly, you don't have to have an OS that boots, just follow my instructions!

I think your device battery must be charged again, after some hours charging you can do following instruction above.
Good luck!

That's totally bs, you can enter the bootloader! if you really really can't, then your device has a hardware failure. just press the camera button (and hold it) and then press soft reset, keep holding the camera button!

If its was BS, i wouldn't be coming here in the first place. And i know how to hard reset, soft reset, and getting into boot loader. i know the soft keys - - and the camera button. and i know how to pole the stylus :P
well i think it is a hardware failure it happened before but during a meeting i had at the office my hands was pressing all the buttons, and i can't remember which and it turned on. but it turned dead again and it wouldn't even turn on.
thanks anyways

I'm sorry, to tell but....
After reading all your posts to me it looks like your device is bricked forever due to corruption of the bootloader.
The bootloader ist the most essential part of your device. It is the softwarepart that does the real flashing by reading from USB and transfer the data into memory storage hardware. If this part gets accidently erased, overwritten or elsehow corrupted, there is no software, no button-press-procedure that can bring your device back to live.
The only thing you can do, is bringing your Herald in for service. In such cases, they normaly replace the whole circuitboard that holds the flash memory.

I've seen this problem in my time in service centers. Here's my reason for this. A phone bootloader and ROM will comunicate with the hardware parts and their small firmwares through SEEM's, some small hexazecimal strings responsable with allmost every hardware-software comunication. When you flash a phone's ROM there is one stage when the SEEM code group is rewritten. These SEEM's are very small and this stage is completed fast. If you are unlucky (veeeery unlucky) and the phone is dissconected in this stage the corrupt SEEM's could trigger this problem. Even the bootloader must use SEEM's to acces the flash memory and display controller. If it can't it woun't be able to start.
And yes, if this occurs, they will have to replace the main board because there's no way to hardwire the flash memory to a flash reader to rewrite the bootloader and SEEM table. It's soldered in the board, not using some slots and they would have to remove it from there and try to resolder it to a controll board on the flash writer. Too complicated...it's a very small component. So they simply place a new board.

people still don't have a solution for this rare happening?

There *is* no solution other than sending the Phone in for repair and probably *never* be...
