Touch Themed Calculator

Hey guys,

Was wondering if anyone knew of a big button calculator that's skinnable, preferrably one that's already touch themed? I've tried gcalc but I'd prefer something more finger friendly and doesn't require me to switch views to do % or clear.

i just found out that you can actually skin the default calculator that came with windows mobile... there is a black skin that looks nice for touch

that is because the display/WM6 only has 16 bit color depth, which makes the shading effect look awful.
Try to save it as dithered gif. Although it is only 8 bit color it should look much better.
Maybe you can use Adobe Photoshop to save it as dithered 16bit .bmp
Or simply take the (dithered) background from the Touch Home plugin. You find that as .png in the \windows folder

If you installed the Spb skin first and replaced the gif file in the windows directory ... nope ... nothing else to do ... just launch calc .exe

Hey nice going there Jayz2K. I acutually liked this one so good that I shaved down the original SPB Black Skin (from 372kb to 57kb) and created a cab for your image. Thumbs Up

The ELF Calculator Skin is now perfected.

I have redone all the graphics from scratch and polished off the design.
This in my opinion has led to a more clean and true ELF like look.
A big thanks still goes out to Jayz2K for the inspiration.

The file size have increased a bit but I'm sure you will agree that it is worth it.

It you downloaded Touch Calc skin.cab. You need to redownload it. The Landscape skin needed to be fixed.

Just Transfer the Cab file from you ppc to your phone. And then click it. Cabs are like exe's for you pc but on you ppc.

The text proportions will get messed, the graphics will become fuzzy and the color mask that is controlling the keys will get messed up - this will simply not work.

As I see a few people around asking for Landscape support I have rebuild the Skin and this is now included.
The graphics quality is equivalent to what I created for my first cab.
Everything is based on the Touch default grey theme dialpad, making this is a Touchy as it's ever going to get - Enjoy :)

Attached file: SpbELF_CalculatorSkin_PL.cab (122.9 KB, 47 views) - Removed due to a file format bug.
The bug is now fixed and the cab is flawless

To KidGixxer. I copied unzipped files to my windows folder. Than in file explorer i tried to execute files one by one and nither worked. The error message says that there is no application associated with ... . Please help

Copy the file .cab in your PDA with ActiveSync where you want (Documents folder). Then from your PDA with explorer go in your folder (where you put the file) and click (tap) the file .cab, now your PDA will install the program. Take last nanoflower version is better. :D

In nanoflower's cab there is a little problem on installing landscape file. After installation you have just to rename \windows\SpbCalc_L.gif in \windows\SpbCalc_L.png on your PDA. Please Nanoflower can I ask you for a green version of your files (I have only MS Paint on my PC :D )? Thank's

Any1 volunteering to do a Luis vouiton Skin for Ms Calc?

I have an Artemis, with everything skinned black a "la'touch", so i´ve incorporated this thread skins (THANK YOU!!) to my device, but my wife, who owns an ELF/TOUCH, likes the vouiton look in S2U2,today, comm manager,cube....but lacks the calculator!

Hi bnjie, if you have installed any of my caps, then simply install the new one on top of that, there is no reason to do an uninstall

If you open my cab you will see it is not stretched. I remade it from scratch with images from other htc programs. The green is stretched. But that because i don't use that color and didn't bother fixing it.

just replace the original graphics in \windows folder with those ones, Im not sure if the original are .png or .gif, if its a .gif then just rename the files manually from .png to .gif

I noticed that if we uninstall the skin, the calc stops working. Why is this happening?

I had the same problem as well.
The calc.exe was removed.

Calc.exe wasn't removed the original program in WM6 is MobileCalculator.exe so just change the link (calc.lnk) or the Alias :MSCALC with a program like SKTools. :)

I am a Trinity user and have very much facelifted it to match the Elf Dialer, Call history, etc. and I would like to install the calculator elf skin also.
I have downloaded the latest cab file from nanoflower but I am a bit confused by the name, it sais spb. I don't have any SPB software installed. Do I need to or does this cab skin the default WM6 calculator?

-the skin is based on a free calculator skin from SPB (its in one of the first posts of this thread)...just though I'd pay my respects by keeping the name.

Simply install the cab and you should be good to go!

On a side note, I just wanted to ask if anyone has seen a calculator in which you can see the equations/numbers as you type them (like on a scientific calculator).

For example if I want to calculate:

(1.14)*(7.53+8.45+3.2+9.99)
Or ((4.5*.98)+(11*.89)+(11*.96))/26.5

Doing this ^ is hard with a normal calculator...I know some of you will probably tell me to use excel but I usually do these calculations for quick things while I'm outside and would occasionally like to go back and change a number without having to type the whole thing again. Anyone know of anything like this?

I can't agree more!!! This skin nicely complements my dialer and is a huge improvement over the default version! Pretty sure the calc has been unchanged since at least WM2003SE... :p Would it be too much to provide a decent looking scientific calculator given how much we pay for these devices???
