Chinese developers have successfully ported WM6 AKU 0.4.2 ROM to Atom Exec and they are fixing minor bugs. Just wait for some days before the final release:)

And there is a piece of bad news - the leading developer charged approx. 17 dollars for his ROM and his ROM will be encrypted:mad:

But don't worry - another developer's Dopod 838, or say HTC Wizard, had been stolen some days ago and he got an Atom Exec after that. He is also porting WM6 and his work is nearly successful. He said that his ROM will be released for free:D

And the commercial version is just WM6 AKU 0.4.2, and people are disappointed of THEIR - that is to say, all the commercial ROMs are produced by a group of ROM makers that people know a little about them and dislike them - previous ROMs, and users who purchased their previous releases now feel cheated and very angry. For example, they charged something like $12 for the so-called AKU 3.5.2 ROM for Atom Exec, but the ROM proved to be AKU 3.5, not AKU 3.5.2, and they changed version info to cheat users. Another example is a man promised to port new ROMs to Atom devices and charged people for $4 each, but after he released a few ROMs, he "vaporized" and we can never find him. Note that this man is a member of this commercial ROM group.

Actually, they shouldn't feel bad about the difference between aku 3.5 and 3.5.2. If you run a file comparison routine between the two ROMS, there isn't much difference between the two version.

It's not difficult to port an ATOM exec rom to run in std ATOM, so don't worry too much about it.

Since the author keeps his ROM as a commercial secret, we don't know from which device WM6 was ported. There are only a few screenshots available at http://www.5shang.com/thread-525-1-1.html, and we are preparing to provide the commercial ROM for free as soon as it is released.:p

It was available when I posted this link... Now everything has been deleted, and we can get a conclusion that nobody can port a bug-free WM6 to Atom or Atom Exec devices.

Porting without the proper tools is really a difficult task... It is something you can't accomplish overnight. Aslo because all the necessary information we need to port is not available in one place. So, just give the porter some time and space... eventually he'll get to it.:D

It is too early to draw some conclusions... the fact that someone was able to boot WM6 into Atom Exec is a promising one. Unlike other devices which have tried to port WM6 into their device, but failed even to boot - not to mention, these devices has a lot of brilliant programmers working on it.

Sometimes, the latest OS, does not necessarily mean the best performing one. Take the Atom Life for example, 3 out of 10 users go back to WM5 for stability and performance.

it not matter is it expensive.. but whether is true is it Mobile 6. Nowsaday, WM6 skin and bootup can be change easily, including the ROM edition. For example, many chinese website put Atom aku 3.5.2 but actually it is aku 3.5 . They amend the version. I might want to try to port WM5 AKU 3.3.3 with WM6 wallpaper and edit the Rom version to WM6 and rearrange the icons (repack o2 structure and reorganize the program files with beautiful Comm Manager and HTC Audio plugin) :P Just kidding

I really like wm6 because of it's necessary bundled programs and the very pristine layout. But if i lose my patience decrypting that freakin encrypted Chinese WM6 Rom, maybe it's time to move on and get an Atom Life. Eh?... :D

Its not worth the money without support for bug fixes and the Chinese to English translation is illegible, Im sure ppl have spent many days putting it together, but the only way I'd pay for it is if master jiggs or similar guru provides bug fixes...that would make it worth the money!

3) MMS cannot send out message
4) O2 Media cannot be use (Radio)
5) O2 plus cannot be use

Alot of complain from many users who update his rom. They lose confidently on him.

MMS and a2dp - now, that's a major bug! It is expected that O2 apps will not work because they are signed apps. How about camera? :D

This will not work with HP6828/18 because HP ROM is signed. It needs to be parsed before this tool can be used on it. There is nothing special about this tool, except that it has integrated into one all tools necessary to edit the ROM. it does not provide info on PORTING.

The big issue here is PORTING: translating WM6 into WM5. Now, someone has done it, but he's not willing to share it for obvious reasons. But, he forgot one thing though... the statistics of XDA Atom users available willing to upgrade their device using non-official ROMs. :D

Thanks for your efforts! Jeffkewin... My present tools are far easier to use than this tool. This tool is useful if you just want to add or delete a couple of things. A ROM construction using this tool would take you ages to complete it :D

You are better off using Scoter Kitchen than this. It is more comprehensive.
