i loaded it.. and so far i'm pretty happy except for one thing.

the fonts are not optimal for landscape operation (most of the control panel menus are cropped and don't fit in the screen)
i used the Pocket Tweak app to change the fonts back but still some of the menus don't fit nicely.

would you happen to have the default font family, height and weight for the System, Menubar and Pop-up font settings?

i was about to post saying the exact opposite :(
i just realized how slow it is.. trying to turn up the volume of the ringer, i click the volume icon, it takes like 3 seconds for the volume popup to show..
i drag the volume up.. it takes like 2 seconds to get the click sound

same thing applies to opening start menu.. making calls, etc :(

I have to say that I didn't upgrade to radio 1.18
I remained to radio1.15
Can this be the cause of 3G-GPRS not working?

I cannot connect to my D-Link WIFI router using WPA-PSK either. It says connecting but it doesn't connect.

When tapping on the Connectivity it still shows "Turn on Wi-Fi" even when WIFI is already turned on, same like last ROM.

Here is one for the clever guys. I like to store all my email attatchments on my sd card, as I get a lot. im trying to do this on this rom but it only see's the internal storage 9.93mb dispite the card being seen by file explorer and programs.

Everything is working OK for me. Everything!!!! Some slight font issues in landscape but can easily be fixed (I will leave as is since I love the new font choice), and preference changes but of that can be easily tweaked.

The problems I’ve come across are that Voice Command does not seem to be announcing my incoming calls. Does anyone else have this problem? I changed the settings in voice command and everything looks to be ok. I even tried changing my ring tone… no luck.
Also, redial is killing me. Is there a hack we can do?
Can someone explain how to use the Internet calling to me? I have wi-fi connection but it says Internet calling is not available.
Is there really any harm that can come to my phone from overclocking to 624?

I flashed using default rom. I've tried everything to connect to my D-Link DGL-4300 WIFI router using WPA-PSK without any success. I even upgraded the WIFI router to the latest firmware.

GPRS/UMTS seems to be working fine.

I seem to have a new problem now, the screen is flickering. I never had this before.

Sorry, though this is a very useful ROM, I have to tell some problem I found:

- X-button exclusive is not working: I cant add programs to the list with the single click - menu is not appears.
- My contacts are on my SIM. I cant see them, I have to copy it to Contacts.
- Where is the MMS settings page?
- After soft-reset the recent programs list is empty.
- I have an open wifi at home. After installing everything (UNIBT?) I cant connect. Every settings is OK, I can ping my router, but nothing more.
- I got this message: radio rom is crashed, after 30 seconds the system will reboot. I got it 3 times in ten minutes.
- I tried the network wizard. It made an MMS and a DATA connection. Booth are wrong. I have to set it by hand. Is it OK? (T-Mobile, Hungary)
- Yes, a bit slower.

I hope I can help for the future release.

i'm using WPA auth to connect to my company cisco router. This driver supports wep104+tkip and after installing latest odyssey client LEAP auth works fine. Never tried WPA-PSK. As far as I see it is supported by ACX100 driver in out ROM. You should try Funk Odyssey client, maybe it would allow you to connect.

3. Voice Commander does not work

6. If you dial 085 and hit the Video Call button continously for few seconds, a phone will dial itself and stay connected even you hang up that call.
7. Can not close a program from the Task manager shortcut.
8. A phone reset a brightness for LCD by itself.
9. After a soft reset, a Battery icon is removed unexpectedly.
10. A ROM performs slower than previous ROM (WM6 Pro Business V7).


Anyone else are welcome to add more bugs into this list.

I wouldn't quite call that 'unusable' - and I suspect the slowness is due to any extra programs you are running, rather than the ROM

I have yet installed any extra applications after completing my upgrade and only run one application at the time.

I also encountered a crash and hang when running this ROM.

In my case, it is unusable as it did not perform a basic task that I require.

I'll wait until the version 2 comes out.

Overall, I do love this ROM and wait for its update.

How to Setup MMS

Open Messaging
Select the SMS/MMS account
Create a new MMS (tap Menu->New->MMS)
Once in the new message, tap Menu->Options->Message Options...
From here, you can do the rest...

sorry leo ,but i should say this rom is not proposable too many bugs soft resets ,and more than all office dosen't work properly good (if i chang some thing in some document he save every thing without asking nothig ),bandswith is noy compatible with this rom and cause crashs , and i'm asking why you have installed in rom some free and (imho stupid game , the memory is precious
) so i think will retorn to my previous rom immadiatly :(

Yes, dedicated messaging and PIE buttons don't work. And the contact's picture on an incoming call is really not fully showed. Besides, WiFi disconnects itself after a couple of minutes with my Exec docked, although the box for auto diconnection (after X minutes) is unchecked. Other than that, this ROM is really fast!

the record button between the camera button and the Ir .. there used to be a funtion when if you press it it performs one thing and if you press and hold it for a couple of senconds , it would do something else.. any solution other than installing a 3rd party software ?

Ok dokie, WPA-PSK TKIP doesnt work for me, IE button on keyboard doesnt work at all. Changed the font back to tahoma :P yet to try a 8gb SDHC on it, but will soon.
Internet Sharing works fine and so happy with that.

All builds after that one, i.e. 17745.0.3.0, 17913.0.3.0 and, unfortunately, now this one, 18159.0.5.0, have a buggy HFP.

I measure how buggy a BT implementation is, with my Lubix NC1 stereo headsets. Although their A2DP and AVRCP work fine with all WM6 builds, I'm unable to use them for phone calls at all, in any of the newer builds. Not a single HFP function works as it would be supposed to: no voice dialling application is launched when I press the corresponding button on the HS; when I receive an incoming call and press the answer button on the HS, the BT link is disconnected, and I have to press it again to restore the BT link. Truly annoying! I've been reporting such bugs for months now, in Ivan's, Kamal and others' threads. I have other monaural BT headsets, though, and they do work with all newer builds. Otherwise I would have returned to Jason's old build by now, because the Uni is too bulky to be taken to anyone's ear...

SDHC does NOT require hardware upgrade to any of the existing devices. It is just a minor software change in sd host driver, and an updated SDMemory.dll that is provided by MS since WM6 aku 0.2 .

I got the same problem. Phone calls are no ok... but can't get GPRS/3G data going.

Wifi via WEP is ok for me, can't get it working with WPA-PSK on my 2wire router.

Everything else seems great! Unfortunately, the lack of GPRS/3G will be a showstopper for me ....

I would like to report the following bugs:

- New Mail Account bug: Now, after a short period of use, I could not set up the new mail account anymore. Also, accessing the mail account option is no longer possible.

- GSM Crash: This occurs after switching back from flight mode. I have not been in the poor signal area where the phone loses the network and needs to search for the network yet. --> It was said that disabling all the voice commands would fix this. However, in my case of getting back from the flight mode, this does not fix.

- Windows Live Mail and Syncing keeps attempting at the GPRS connection when trying to connect, though the WiFi connection is present and working --> Solution: connecting the the Messenger on the WiFi first then checking for Windows Live Mail or Syncing on the WiFi connection becomes ok.

- Camera version 3 build 21424: I believe that the latest version is build 22844. Is it possible merely just to install the camera .cab file of the latest version?

- SIP Change at start up: The softkey Select|Exit after soft-reset doesn't automatically disappear. Unless I push Exit as soon as it shows up, sometimes the device freezes.

I had gone into flight mode last night (through PocketZenPhone), and was unable to start the radio again this morning. A "GSM Crash" application issuing that message, followed by a soft reset, came up every time I tried to start it. Then I decided to remove "StkStarter.exe" from "\Windows\StartUp". The phone has worked again then. Don't know if that was the correct action, though...

- New Mail Account bug: Will try reflashing (any easier way to fix it?), and use camera build 22844, and see what happens. (The previous v7 Videocall uses this build and without NewMailAccount bug.)

- GSM crash: Having been to the no-signal area, the first time the phone stopped working (can't receive any more signal even back in the available area, but no freeze, message box, or restart). Then soft-reset and there has been no problem so far (phone receiving signal normally even in and out of no-signal area).

I'd like to give my outlook on this rom so far...

1. The Broadcom BT stack is wonderful - except that I couldn't get phone functionality with it (HBH-DS970). Normal BT stack works fine.
2. Wifi w/ WEP works good.
3. Speed is faster in this rom. Haven't tried to overclock above 520.
4. It seems everytime something is done the first time in this rom it takes time. afterwards it runs quickly :) maybe it's just me, but that's how I feel!
5. iGo 2006 works fast and well.

My uni still crashes on incoming calls.:( It remains frozen on vibration when I receve a very short call from someone...very short means that my phone rings once to the person who in calling me before he hangs up and I don't get to ancer. Make a test: make a short phone call to the uni and hang up when the phone starts to ring. (the uni will not ring at the same time as the caller's headset but will have a short delay of 2-3 seconds)
If the other person hangs up before the uni starts ringing, the uni will crash.
Note that the Uni has to be in stand-by and with the lid closed.
Hapends even if I remove the vibration and I noticed that the signal indicator still works. I wonder if this in hapends in WM05...
Leo, please investigate this, I hope i gave you enought informatoins for you to replicate the crash.
This hapend on your previous rom and on INDRA's rom and was reported by sevaral users.

yup same here... still with lag... i thought it was mentioned that it was fixed.... although at times, the answer key kicks in as soon as you press it... i dont understand why at times it doesnt... i havent installed any apps as of the moment... and no floating background apps running that may cause the delay.

Redial via long press of green talk button or Motorola H500 headset is possible in WM6. Haven't tested in this ROM yet but I can assure you it works on other WM6 ROMs as well.

Lots of new software and a strange Vista boot up screen (because this is not Vista).

1hr into use & browsing in Opera the Uni locked completely. 5 attempts to soft reset & it still won't get past the initial boot up screen, I could hard reset or reflash but I suspect it isn't reliable enough.

I will go back to the previous version which was a lot more stable.

You can get the chinese back by following ways after installed Monster V6.(Ce-star is not work)

Go Start-->Settings-->System-->Pocket Tweak-->Font
Then change the system font, Menubar font and Pop-up menu font from Palatino Linotype to Stone_song and click OK, after that ,do a soft-rest

YooHoo! I've just put my "faulty" 4GB SDHC card to work!!! Just to let you know, before throwing it to the trash can, an idea came to my mind: I've started USB HDD on my Uni and connected it to my lappy. Then a new removable disk was shown in My Computer, but, surprisingly, it was NOT FORMATTED. That was the "fault". WinXP then prompted me to format it to 3,74GB FAT32. Once finished, I've disabled USB HDD and Total Commander has detected it! Great! I'm stuffing it with data right now!:D

Anyone experiencing memory leak and occassional slowdown?

I've come to the point where I have around 11MB of programme memory left. I don't keep applications running in the background. Usually, I would switch among Opera 8.60, Outlook Mail, Pocket Informant, Windows Live Messenger, Resco Explorer 2005, Windows Media Player and use the Camera (v3 build22844). I close (not minimise) everything after finishing using.

Sometimes switching the device on whilst it's charging (wall charger), the screen appears a bit shaky, and device running slow. Turn it off, and then on again solve the problem.

when is the incoming call lag going to be fixed, in this rom incoming call sometimes has the lag sometimes it doesn't, but most of the time it does and it's exactly 4 seconds. and also the wifi on fix with the new button is not working either, it's probably best just to have comm. manager in that bubble instead of wifi on/off buttons that doesn't work. Btw rom works faster than the old one. Cheerz

For most of the ROM, I can say it is not a bad attempt at all with V1. I would like VC functionality, but can live without it. I do however have the same GSM Radio Crashed error. I will be downgrading to Radio 1.15 (Current 1.18) to see if the problem persists and then report back.

love the rom so far, except for a few things that were already mentioned.. one is the font in landscape, incomming call doesnt show the picture of the contact fully. and for those of you experiencing the gsm hanging and restarting after 30 seconds.. please disable the voice command announce caller feature and you will be fine..
ive also noticed that pie and mail shortcut buttons on the keyboard are not working so anyone else confirms that or shall i reflash?
i also have a question regarding the sdhc what card is supported (brand) anyone tried any 8gb cards and they worked?

i have spb phonesuit installed and i noticed that the profile selector icon on the today screen doesnt have any icons you can click and a menu with writing shows up but no pictures (for eg silent would show but not the speaker with a slash through it)
please let me know if its just me and if i should try reflashing.. oh and i had 1.18 radio installed previously so i actually deleted the file (radio.nbf) and flashed without it .

I must say one thing all the problems mentioned by other users i came across only two and rest of them work fine, MMS, GPRS, Wifi etc... two small problems are few buttons are not mapped and fonts(which i managed to configured)
You can use any HCSD card, no particular brand required,
i am using phone suit and it works fine with all working icons.i am sure in release 2 every thing will be fixed even if not i am happy with this one, Thanks guys for your hard work

You can get the chinese back by following ways after installed Monster V6.(Ce-star is not work)

Go Start-->Settings-->System-->Pocket Tweak-->Font
Then change the system font, Menubar font and Pop-up menu font from Palatino Linotype to Stone_song and click OK, after that ,do a soft-rest

My uni still crashes on incoming calls.:( It remains frozen on vibration when I receve a very short call from someone...very short means that my phone rings once to the person who in calling me before he hangs up and I don't get to ancer. Make a test: make a short phone call to the uni and hang up when the phone starts to ring. (the uni will not ring at the same time as the caller's headset but will have a short delay of 2-3 seconds)
If the other person hangs up before the uni starts ringing, the uni will crash.
Note that the Uni has to be in stand-by and with the lid closed.
Hapends even if I remove the vibration and I noticed that the signal indicator still works. I wonder if this in hapends in WM05...
Leo, please investigate this, I hope i gave you enought informatoins for you to replicate the crash.
This hapend on your previous rom and on INDRA's rom and was reported by sevaral users.

ok, so I downloaded the "Sip Conf Tool" version 2.0.1 by shaun33 from one of the forums and registered an account with voicecheap.com and set up the setting for it in the sip conf. tool. It changed the name from "Internet calling" to my settings on the today screen but it still does not connect to the service with wifi on or with anything else. It says "No Service." I have been searching this site for 3 days. Can someone please help me. Has anyone got this to work? Does "Sip Conf Tool" not work for this ROM? Sorry if I am a complete moron. :-(

Well done. Quite stable ROM & fast after a applying a few tweaking.

Bugs detected:
1. Message & IE keyboard quick button not functioning. (but could remap it by using 3rd party software AEBplus)
2. Redial last call still not functioning-pressing the phone key to the last call number called should usually redial back the number (but could repair it by unable the phonepad skin as mention in previous post, the drawback is you shall not be able to make videocall)
3. Task Manager version 2.XX not stable & causes slowing down or crash your system. (by disable the task manager or reinstalling Task manager version 1.5 shall solve the problem)
4. Font Palatino makes a few view hidden especially in landscape view. (changing the font to tahoma shall solve the problem-I'm using Times New Roman font 8 & looks wonderful :) )
5. A few memory leaks but it depends what software you install & set it to autostart after reboot, number of today plug in (what i did was using memmaid, i deleted a few a startup items such as SIP, startclean.exe, STk. create a few folder using resco explorer in start/programs & rearrange/deleted the unused shortcut .lnk)
6. last but not least still waiting for your perfect videocall function version 2 :D

at 1st i just log in to live messenger, and it works fine...
but when i open the IE, its pop up said that the GSM crashed with system, the device will be reboot in 30 seconds.

you try to downgrade back to the original rom.
cause i tried before that i cant hard reset because the "0" key is not functioning. so i have to flash back to the orinal o2 rom then flash back to wm6.

I noticed this too. I was wondering it you are using an aftermarket battery. I have found these to produce slightly lower voltage output the the originals. You can actually feel the weight difference.

i have the standard batteries and an aftermarket long life battery but i only saw this problem with the GSM crash on the standard battery...i will try the aftermarket battery for a few days and see if i can replicate the problem...

i also cant get the voice announcement working either, but i may try another companies software to see if its a software conflict or not..

I made a hard-reset to your rom and it did the same, it crashed! So it's not third party apps responsable, it's the rom.
Furthermore i installed two wm05 roms and they all perform ok. with and without third party apps the wm05 did not crash...
What do you think? Maby you can talk with the others who had the same problem.

anybody had random gprs connections? i mean, my uni connect to gprs whenever he wants to, i've checked all 3rd party apps and none of them uses gprs connection on its own, mail is not set to auto check messages and still gprs connects from time to time, never did that with any previous wm6 or wm5 rom, just with this one.

For those with stability issues, have you tried disabling Voice Command?

For some reason my Exec does not work with VC, have tried pretty much every ROM on the site, both WM5 and 6 and my device locks up usually within a few mins of booting if I have VC on. Disable it and no lockups. Had given up trying to get VC to work as all I wanted it for was the call announcement, so instead was going to get a BT headset with caller display.

I hoped with this ROM having VC built in may make a difference, but I had still had lockups until I disabled VC. Not seen anyone posting having the same issue, but with a lot of folks using this ROM claiming stability issues, thought it worth mentioning.

Great ROM so far though! Will have to leave it a bit before getting a valid comparison between that and my previous fave, Laurentius V7.

First of all let me congratulate u on ur new creation it is fabulous........i like the features embeded in it very much...but there are certain peculair problems with the rom , I tried this for two days even after reflashing it again and again..........I have just noted down some of the problems mentioned below....:
1. Battery icon vanishes from today screen after 1st reset.
2. no compatability with 3 rd. party applications (like spb GPRS monitor)
3. The set goes dam slow.
3. It takes more time for call response.
4. Devise hangs frequently.
5. MMS settings cannot be configured.
some other problems are also there.
I hope you are looking into them and comming with some good solution......
I am waiting for ur next bug free release...till then i will manage with the old ver.

This bug was the main reason I uninstalled this ROM :( Unfortunately it's very annoying. I don't use video call, and other stuff, but this WM6 build constantly screws up something with the MMC card for me unfortunately.
I'll wait for another release, but we're definitely on the right track! :) Thanks indeed.

The problems we experience with OzVGA and other Real VGA apps can be solved with athena's Real VGA 128dpi .cab!

Subsists some incompatibilities with 3rd part apps as SPB Shell, but the images and keyboard problems can be solved with this. ;)
It doesn´t have a menu or something similar to quit Real VGA mode, so we have to uninstall the app to return to VGA.

I formatted my SD Card, and also disabled the "Performance" applet - this fixed a lot of things (the SD card problem, some hang ups).

I might try xscaler and see if these problems come back. maybe performance did something with the memory timings...?

Can't connect to wifi
Font issues (don't like it, missing screens because of it)
Flight mode restarting in 30 secs issue (has been reported before)

You can change font going in to settings - System - PocketTweak - Font.

Try setting height=800 and Weight=300, this will allow you to see everything on the display.

Thanks for the ROM it's really fast, it's GREAT ! But i have some problems..
My mobile keeps freezing from time to time, especially when i soft reset my mobile and the Phone PIN code appears, here IT FREEZES there's nothing i can do except soft resetting it once again until it works.. Please someone help me cause i feel like throwing it out of the window !! lol

I contacted Jwrightmcps last April about this subject, while running his ROM, but I couldn't go any further into it.

Would you have any ideas on how to make a data call (i.e. a terminal client software running on my PC sending AT commands to my device acting as a modem, while connected to a remote analog modem at a mere 9600bps) be routed through my device's embedded Voip feature?

I have tried both Wmodem via USB and BT-DUN. Behaviour is the same: data calls are correctly routed through my GSM carrier's network, but they simply refuse to go through my provisioned VoipBusterPro account. My ipdialplan.xml file is correct, because I can make voice calls through Voip. Why not data calls?

Any clues anyone?

Thanks for that nice work.
It is the best Rom I ever used. I have made some changed as I am using Radio Version 1.15 rather then 1.18 where crashing message appeared. I also deleted too many useless start up applications which cause to slow down the device as well use a lot of memory. changed font size to 800 and 300.

This is looking very good. I have 2 problems, but the first is the one that annoys me the most:

1) I have no device lock on my Today screen. This doesn't appear as an option under the Today app in Settings, so it's not just a case of enabling it from there. When the device is powered off, it's locked - but if I receive a call or message, the device is unlocked until it next goes back to sleep.
I notice the device lock shows on the Today screen on the screenshot on the first post. =/

2) I can't connect to a WPA-PSK encrypted network. (under Configure wireless networks, it shows Available, then Connecting, then Available again)

Try pressing and holding the phone end (red) button for a couple of seconds. It works for me, although I use to disconnect GPRS via Spb GPRS Monitor.

in the new version V2 you may incorporate the extended rom as addictional RAM to prevent memory leaks and to add some memory to programs...
In fact 10-15Mb are useless (I think everyone with uni has got a SD...), bou it's only my comment.

If this would be possible I REALLY would appreciate it :-) The main Problem with Uni is the lack of Memory. Else I wouldn't even want to switch to kaiser....

used this rom for a while now but everyso often it fades to a white screen and then this moring was using it and it just turned its self off it wont turn back on properally had to restore default settings then flash with a different rom

as far is I know, this is still impossible
and will never be possible
I think even Mamaich and Buzz have tried.
but they could not merge the memory.

1. Remove the extra services (for example ussd service weighs 1 megabyte voice commander ... 1 megabyte connection sharing .... 200 kilobytes .. on screen keyboard 1.5 megabytes)
2. Remove the extra devices from the list

and 35 and more megabytes of free memory after softreset become a reality ... to the same speed you add your uni

No. This can only be used on a HTC Universal (which is a particular model) rather than "Universal" as in one size fits all.

I think it is a great job a truly compilation from the best apps and tweaks we can found for the Uni but on my Xda Exec caused a lot of trouble with the GSM Radio, keep on crashing and rebooting my device, some times it didn't turn on i dont know why of this problem, apart from that it is one of the best roms i ever tested
