THSNKS
EDWARD

Why do you need a old office when you can do the same and more with a newer version. You can save your files to office 97 or 2003 with the office 2007.

I have uploade the cab package with the office 2007 if you still want to give it a try;)

Hi,
Thanks I also wanted a lite t-mobile rom. Just wanted to ask, since u said it's based on the latest official t-mobile rom, is it exactly the same with just those apps removed? No special tweaking, interpollating of other devices' roms, other imgfs, etc? (like what the other chefs are doing).Just the official t-mobile rom itself? or did u do some "other" stuff to it to make it faster/stable/etc?

dutty,
thanx for the newly released ROM. By the way, I'm still using your WM6 premium V2 ROM since April. Wonderful, stable and meet my needs.
I am about to download your new package and have a few questions;
1) Can i use HTCustom or HTweakC to change the dialer from 3G to 2G and vice versa?
2) Does the new MMS App split the account? I mean sms & mms into different account like in your previous ROM.
3) Can you post a screencapture of the programs available just by the installing the ROM?

Regards and thanx a million to you for your wonder V2 ROM before.

As you have gone for the cab approach to applications, which I fully support, would you mind uploading a cab for the splash screens that you are using please, on their own.

I change my splash screens on a regular basis (just for the hell of it) hence the request.

Many thanks

Ok.. first impressions are wonderful.. Just a few small issues like:

1.) Dialer doesn`t have sound when you press numbers, it vibrates when you press and hold the number buttons..

2.) There is no Windows Media Player shortcut in programs folder

Thats what I noticed so far..

About the SIM Manager.. there is one but version 5.36

I added some apps from your add-ons did some tweaks with htc custom did a soft reset now phone doesnt ring/vibrate or show incoming call when someone calls. i can just see the phone signal strength icon show a phone and the left soft button changes to call status. i have to push the phone button twice to answer the call. I have hard reset the phone and it still does the same with nothing installed. i also reflashed the rom and still the same. i am using radio 1.51. downgrading to 1.50 now. any ideas?

Hi duttythroy, I'm currently using TNT2 by its right. I know your ROM is much much lighter and probably even faster but everything works well for me now and I don't really wanna go thru reflashing and reinstalling/reconfiguring apps again. But you mentioned that you fixed PIE. Fixed internet explorer slow page Scrolling which was one I couldnt deal with which is now super fast.

Would you mind sharing how you did this? This would be the only thing I want fixed on my current ROM. Thanks.

Therefore by installing mine you save ~3Mb ;)

This one seems better so far.. I am in the process of installing applications and will test it some more...

So far I have noticed that there is a problem with themes - bottom bar sometimes doesn`t change the way it should change, it gets kinda messy..

I recon this is happening because it is T-Mobile base and it uses stupid unbalanced colors..

Here is the screenshot so you get the full picture ;)

just tried the new update. and here a new bug report: after i turned off screen back light(taped the icon in HTC home), it cant be turned on eighter by hiting any key/button or soft reset, meaned i can seen nothing on the screen, and what i can do is to make hard reset.
and i wondering if this rom is based TNT2. when i restart the device, one of the starup screen pictures is just that of TNT2(previous rom on my device). is anything TNT2 left in my storage?

You can change it by overwriting the current one.. Just the current one is copy-protected so it can`t be changed..

Start-up picture is "welcomehead.96.png"

This is not a rom problem but because of the x-button on the right corner it causes problems when changing the theme, just do a soft reset and the new theme will be ok.

It wont turned on by just clicking or tapping a button unless using the sth button htc homeplugin which im guessing your using. I am not running htc home at the moment but i will give it a try.

2nd splash is not compiled into the package, so thats why you still have that TNT2 picture.

You can fix it by flashing just splash screens after ROM flashing..

I just upgraded from the Dopod lite rom - everyone agreed that it was fast, but i wasn't getting the same results. I did enjoy the 3G .3 very much, the 3G .36 people weren't too satisfied, so i didn't bother.

This ROM was perfect so far. Except one thing, it only happened once, but i'll confirm it after further use.

I recieved a call while i was on the phone, i clicked on the option to answer, but it would not. So i had to end the conversation first, and then call back to the person calling.

Usually in my other ROM's it would allow me to answer the call, place the current call on hold, and then i can even conference. But i didn't have a chance to do that.

I'm thinking it's the ROM, but then again it's w/ phone call, so what say you?

Thanks again for the great ROM.

ALso any links for thems, and dial pad themes etc.

ps.

the complete.zip file for the fixing of that start up photo, how do we use it. Just copy the file onto windows folder?

Will I be able to sync my contacts / tasks / notes from my outlook without installing any of the CABS? I always assumed Office 2007 must be installed but thinking about it, I don't remember seeing an Outlook icon or anything so is it just something that is built into WM6? Sorry this would be the first ROM I would want to use that didn't have Office already in it.

First I would like to say that this ROM is fast, just as advertised. I ran into a few other problems today though, if anyone else can confirm please let me know, maybe I'm doing something wrong. Been using it all day and I've had to hard reset four times now.

Hard Resets

1.) Was on a call and when finished I could not end the call. I used the touch screen "End" and it did nothing. I used the Red button to hang up and nothing. It still said connected and kept running. I then closed it but of course it stayed running and I closed it through the running apps. Did a soft reset and it did the same thing. So I just hard reset the phone because of the locking up.

2.) Same problem as #1 but this time I could not close it using the "X button" app. The phone stayed connected the whole time until I finally gave up at about 20 minutes in and just did another hard reset.

3.) These two times were strange. My numeric password was not working. I know I set it at a particular number the first time but of course I went through all three trys and it deleted everything on my phone and did a hard reset.

4.) Set up device and made sure what the number was. I used the touchscreen keyboard again low and behold not fifteen minutes later when it asked for my password, the password was not working again. Again I did it up to 8 times very frustrated and it did a hard reset.

This last hard reset I typed in my password using the slide out QWERTY board and so far so good after it asked for my password again. I don't know why the board worked over the touchscreen input but I really don't want to do a hard reset again to check because I don't have time right now. Right now I'm syncing which is working still, fingers crossed for now.

Other then the above I like the fact of how fast it has been and the fact that the programs are very limited.

Now my hermes is stuck on the multicoloured bootloader screen?!?!?!? I have SPL 2.10. I have read the WIKI on repairing bricks but for my problem it says to reflash any nbh without radio. How is this possible if i cant get my pc to connect to my hermes???

Tried the method of turning off usb connection in active sync, removing battery, reconnecting to usb and running mitty (command SET 14 0) but nothing happens. Mitty says CMD error and active sync doesnt reopen the connection like the guide says! Man i hate this cuz i have now become one of those annoying noobs who has bricked their phone and hassles everyone for help!!!!

Try to flash another working rom via sd card:

Hello,

I had updated to this ROM yesterday, played around with it but i didn't see the speeds that other saw.

Then i came across other ROM's so i tried those out as well.

Currently i'm liking the TNT 2.0 ROM but i would like this ROM better if i could replace some of the themes for Dial pad and the Com manager etc.

I don't know if i'm making myself clear.

I like the ROM but i just don't like the way some things look. what do you recommend.

Currently i'm liking the TNT but i had felt comfortable using this ROM the Ultra lite version.

I guess i'll switch back for sure if the TNT gives me trouble.

Thanks for input.

Just one query, on other WM6 ROMs i have used, on the date today plug in you can have the time as well as date ie Monday 12th April 2007 16:49
but on your ROM i only get date? Is there a reg hack for this?? Many thanks. It must be a good ROM if this is the only moan i have!!! :p

i forgot to put that in th registry but if you search or try the wiki you will find it, just checked you can get the date and time if u select united states in regional settings but united kingdom only gives you date

The image that is extracted is a .gif...

On the first post on the buttom there is a file that you need to flash to get the original wm6 splash sxcreens and the complete file which consist of a file in .gif format need to go in your windows by using total commander to overite the existing one:rolleyes:

Ooooooooooooook I got it:) I flashed the WM6 splash screens but somehow didn't see the welcomehead.96.png file.

All is well now.

And at least from my initial use with all my add-ons it seems your ROM has a bit longer boot than Dopod Lite but after it is up and running is faster, especially in the windows folder.

Good work. :)

Not sure what I did wrong. When I open the phone application, no dial pad is there (all blank). I can guess the numbers by their position.

The upgrade was done using SD card method (RUU.exe keeps giving me error message, sth like can not initialize or so). I am using the WinMo default theme, with no application installed.

I think there is a bug. If I go into HTCustom -> Phone, check "disable change in-call volume beep" and uncheck "3G video dialer", the keypad in phone turns blank.

Anyone wanna try this? :)

Only the touch dialer is associated with the rom so if you unselect it in htcustom you will have a white screen. if you want to change your dial pad you can find it all over xda:)

A quick question for you. Why when i dump this rom is every *.rgu file missing? Doesnt help us other cookers who make their own variants for themselves (like I do).

duttythroy,

I believe there are 2 effects of deleting these files...

The removal of the .rgu files speeds up the ROM a bit and slims down the windows folder slightly, but also makes using it as a base ROM not doable.

It is similar to what Edhaas did in his Dopod Lite v1.2. Its not meant to be dumped, simply used as is.

Tho if im off here im sure Dutty will correct me...:)

 Ok question for everyone...has anyone else experienced/noticed that when you do anything messaging the phone slows down, i.e. redrawing the screen when you slide out qwerty or how it stutters the first handful of letter of a message?

I typically have 20-24 mb program memory free when just using the inbox, so its not that...

Ok this one is for Dutty...did u change something so that the phone doesn't save recently used programs to the start menu? (btw this is not a complaint, i actually prefer it :) )

EDIT: I'm now using Shogunmark's threaded sms (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319899), and it doesn't have this lag. (I've actually had it happen on a few ROMs. Its nothin on you Dutty.) However I'd still like to here what others have to say.

Hi Dutty

When I try and play my videos in WMP I get the following error: "There is no application assoicated with "Video_01". Run the application first, then open this file from within the application"

When I update my library it finds nothing accept my mp3.

I have hard resetted the device and left it clean and still have the same problem

Any ideas?

Love the memory. Again there is just something there that puts a very not so responsive feel to it. I can only compare to TNT 2.0. So i don't know exaclty how the cooks cook, but as far as flavor, i can't seem to get it w/ the supa dupa.

I also noticed some problems w/ calls. After installation today, i missed two calls which i was suprised to find, but just general manipulation is slow .. i can't say really slow.. but not like the TNT.

any help here will be appreciated.

I have flashed it and so far, it seems like any ROM out there, no slow downs at all..

I`d like to give some thoughts on the setup.. I normally install PocketRAR on storage card, it works great from there so removing it can save some extra storage on device, also removing x-button ( there are better 3rd party task managers like iLaunchers ) and my country is not present in network wizard so it only takes storage on my device.

It would be great if those could be removed and provided as CABs, we could save around 1.5Mb extra.. :D

No hard feelings, it was just a suggestion ;)

About the Advanced config/HTcustom/pimp my black error.. I think it is related to Comm Manager ( or dialer ), I used to get errors with kaiser comm manager before..

Congrats on your great roms, especially on the latest which has to have set some kind of record for available storage.

I have one, very humble, suggestion. So that everyone will be clear about which problems and which fixes apply to which rom, perhaps you could separate out the new Supa dupa Lite into its own thread?

IT IS NOT THE ROM... Try flashing any other ROM now, and it will happen again...

There is a folder on your SDcard that the HTCustom CANNOT read and that is the issue. I had this happen after flashing Schap's. Explore your "Storage Card" folder (make sure to "show all files"), and delete any folder that you did not put there yourself... I only kept "My Documents" and "Program files"... delete all of the others... then soft reset. That's it :)

I have written this once here... if someone else asks the question later, please direct them to the answer.

Hi Dutty,

Thanks for the great work especially putting in the Kaiser stuffs 10 buttons and Video Dialer..

Anyway I got some recommendations:

1) MMS Email account (Can this be removed?)
2) PocketRAR (Can this be Removed too?)
It may be causing ZIP files not be associated with any applications now..
When I open an attachment in the email it no longer recognizes zip files
3) SMS Backup.... (Can this be removed?)
There are other choises out there e.g. PIMBackup
4) Kaiser 10btns with 3G toggle.
It would be excellent if you could have the Kaiser btn with 3G toggle.

With the above.... I feel your ROM shall be flawless.... hehe

Does anyone know if duttythroy's Supa dupa Lite ROM uses the the battery icons created by bennec?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321733

I tried to get them working in the Ultra Ultra Lite ROM but with no success. Everything seemed to install fine but I didn't get a battery icon in the top bar.

Does it need to be enabled somewhere?

I havent tried it with bennec cab but you could try this

if you used htcustom and selectbattery on top bar, and although there is a problem at the moment but just save and then power down your device it will give you a battery icon like shaps but with the white icon

Unfortunately I don't have the htcustom theme, only the default one and there's no select battery option anywhere. No matter - your ROM is very fast (although not as fast as 20070519_LVSW_Hermes_WWE_3.30.2.1 - perhaps there's something that LVSW could help optimise?) so I can live without the battery indicator.

One thing I've noticed with all ROMs other than LVSW's is that batter life is a little shorter (about a day shorter). I'm wondering if LVSW's ROM is faster because some process isn't running, thereby saving power too?

Anyway, before I start rambling I'd like to thank-you for all the hard work you've put into this ROM and for all the support you give us in these forums.

I hope you don't get fed up of us too soon and continue to release your great ROMs!

I`ve noticed you have removed customer feedback from the ROM, but there is still "dead" ( not functional ) link in Settings -> System

It would be nice if you could remove the shortcut too ;)
