Quick GPS wont download updates

I'm having the same problem and I am connected either by Wifi, Active Sync (WMDC6.1) or GPRS and still get the message "Connection Failed, Please try again later". I know ive got a web connection, cos i can access the web! I've raised call wiv HTC & will post back any reply I get from them but if anyone has any bright ideas. I know there is a manual workaround but would rather get to root cause.

If you're in WM5 you have to deactivate the advanced connexion functionnality (maybe not the exact name, I have a french rom). How to do it: go in settings --> tab "connexions" --> usb to PC --> deactivate the option shown

It worked for me, I couldn't access the net via activesync, now I can.

If WM6 I don't know, maybe the same.

I have the same problem in my office. The web surf works but neither the weather update nor the QuickGPS update. Whereas at home everything is fine. The proxy settings made by the administrator filter the acces to the update. :(

quite some time ago i somewhere found this to help (seems to be win xp prob):
