This is not just good work, it is amazing work

I use this rom from a lil less than 24 hours and even after installing all of the needed software it works incredably fast.

And to answer to some of you:

WIFI=OK - works just as it suppose to (except the known bug for turning it on, but it is nothing)
BT A2DP=OK
BT OBEX=OK - tested sending and recieving files over it
GPRS=OK - same as in WM5 it just works
PHONE=OK - the new smartdialer is great
OUTLOOK=OK - tested with MSN mail and Gmail
Office 2007=OK - the new word and excel works a lot faster than in WM5
IR(Beam)=OK - tryed it only for send/recieve files have not tryed it for example with third party software as a tv remote

Overall this rom is great, and it's worth the waiting

Helmi,

Well done! Last year, around July / Aug, I started out with your WM5 rom and never stopped. Now using xplode's rom, specifically the kitchen. Just only yesterday, I managed to integrate NetCF2SP2 from (Helmi_BA_WM2k5_AKU3.5_v1.4.CF2 R2) baniaczek into xplode's kitchen 2. With affirmation from xplod above, I am eagerly waiting for your WM6, and hopefully, even a kitchen version. Anyway to join your beta now?

Thanks.

Does this comes with the latest verison of Windows Live or is it still the first release of Windows Live that was made public on the forums months ago?

I doubt very much but would this ROM include tcpmp?

How about flash player? I have flash 7 on my device and i am able to watch videos on youtube but the screen size is a very small square and it uses alot of resources when playing the video. It makes the device freeze sometimes.

Is Streaming Player also included in this wonderful package?:)

Thanks for your reply Xplode.

Thanks Helmi for making the imposible dream of BA's user come true.

// xplode:
1. I saw the memory from the screenie was 93.03MB memory. Is it possible to adjust/modify the paging pool size like what we did on our WM5?
2. HTC Audio Manager included with this ROM?
3. Regarding with the BT, is it using MS BT stack or Broadcom BT stack? If its using MS BT stack, does the sound quality imporved from previous version on WM5? or let's say, how is it sound if compared with the Broadcom BT stack?

Btw, thanks for be a beta tester for us.

Anth

xplode
30th August 2007, 01:40 AM
Yes it is possible to control page Pool Size, i am not sure if it is in the same address, we have to ask helmi that

HTC Audio manager is not included into the rom but it can be added as cab into extrom

The BT is with microsoft BT stack, the sound quality can be controled with apps developed by members of these forums (personally i like Advanced Config by Schap) so you can set predefined parameters for BT sound and then try and you will decide which setting suites you

Thanks for the fast reply. Thats really gonna make me more interested with the new WM6's ROM installed on my device.

I'm just curious. I read some posts mentioned before that BA are not capable to play with HTC's Cube (aka TouchFLO) on WM5 due to some hardware/software limitation. How is the result if the Cube installed on BA's with WM6? Can the Cube start spining on BA?

I'm seriously looking at this one as My BA has always synced Avantgo over wireless a bit faster then my Vario II both when it was on WM5 and now WM6 it seems to be sluggish geting the updates. however on my BA even with WM2003 it downloads very fast. almost as fast as my Treo600 over hotsync.
thusly i always wondered if it was operating system or just sheer cpu diffrences. ( i believed the later as the BA has a proper Intel, the Hermes/Vario II is a samsung )

Today Screen
http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/8999/todaygy8.th.png (http://img401.imageshack.us/my.php?image=todaygy8.png)
The theme was created back in the days for WM2003, then it went to WM5 and now to WM6. Home today plugin is customized using HTC Home Customizer (search for it in the forums), I have managed to create a cab to add VoIP support (as you see in the picture)

Windows Update
http://img352.imageshack.us/img352/4070/wukt7.th.png (http://img352.imageshack.us/my.php?image=wukt7.png)
Also i have added WU as cab, and it works fine (but there are no updates for this rom because it is the latest one)

Also i have managed to create a cab for Arcsoft MMS 4.2.8.1, which is working just fine

I have found out that Customer Feedback and marketplace are useless piece of software so i did not continiued to make cabs for them.

The future's great ... it's this "time dilation" thing which I have trouble with.

So, if it's tomorrow here, and yesterday there ... does that mean I can go to tomorrow, grab the work from yesterday which I should have done then, bring it back to today, so that I never had to do it in the first place because it's already done?

Maybe that's how Helmi made the WM6 BA version! :D

Well, that could be a big problem if you travel at speed close to speed of light.

Let's all just relax, enjoy the last moments with our beloved WM5, for which we have fought so hard to improve.
Let's cherish the moments we remember the most, like the time the BA went "magneto" (I have you to thank for that one Tuatara... and of course everyone else like mamaich). Or the time when our BA's jumped to lightspeed by the discovery of the page pool tweak... those were the days.

Now, we are faced with a much more challenging future. They said that it could not be done. They laughed at us just to think we could put WM5 in a BA (an "obsolete" device). Now, thanks to Helmi (and everyone else involved), we are only hours away from being able to take it one step further than what we should not have been able to do. We dare to take it one step too far. just to take it another step even further! Just think about it, no other Pocket PC has been able to go through this many OS' because of a bunch of excuses such as hardware limitations, not enough memory, etc, etc. But now...

Ladies and Gentlemen....

We are going CrossBow!!!!!!!!!!

God Bless all of You!!!!!!

XDA ROCKS!!!!

:) well freakin said there man i can wait this is the new revolution in os history for Pocket PC's. We will now be able to take our devices farther than anyone thought possible. helmi is a GOD in my eyes he worked very hard at this and all where doing is whinning when its a few hours away.

ITS NOT WHAT YOUR POCKET PC CAN DO FOR YOU. ITS WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR POCKET PC.

is the increase in speed attributed to only the 93.09MB memory? mine is currently at 77.14MB with WM5. Will it be roughly 20% faster... or much, much faster?

bt obex is working! i missed this feature.

is there still an issue with saving excel files? i hope this is resolved with WM6.

hello everyone!
now we have a new WM06 forum, a new WM06 Wiki would really be cool!!

maybe the more advanced users (or those having tested the beta) could try to write down new guides and tutorials for the wiki... (eg. installation of the new rom...). i would do it myself, if i could... but my ba skills are pathetic compared to most of the others here... :(
and as the old wiki is sometimes really confusing for noobies like me, a brand new WM06 WIKI could help to avoid that some questions will be aked again and again.... just my 2 cents....

what do you think?

regards,krztf

EDITED TO SAY: okay oaky..... just noticed, that a new wiki has been started already.... cool! i would suggest to avoid to much linking back to old wiki, as i said, i found that rather confusing....
hoping for new guides and tutorials!

I can wait to get it, so i can use my beloved Blue Angel with WM6.

So helmi thanks alot not just for bringing WM6 to the Blue Angel but also (as it seems now) for saving me alot of money, if I get it to work i will surely make a donation, and then just hope you will keep up the good work.

Overall this rom is great, and it's worth the waiting

xplode, i am getting the same a2dp & headset probs i had with wm5, do i have to use the broadcom test stack & patches helmi created prviously or is there a new better stack for WM6.
even with patches i seem to have probs using both profiles simultaneously.
any advice would be appreciated.

PS thanks to everyone who worked on & tested this.

Hello. First of all I'd like to thank helmi and all the people who helped for this ROM.
I have issues though... My main issue is that I can't get the activesync to work. When I run the activesync application in my phone, and I tap connections, there is no option for USB.. There are only various bps speeds...
Is there someone else with the same problem? Anyone can help?? Please..

In my PC I actually have the activesync 4.5.
But the problem I think is the activesync application in my phone.
Like I said before, there is no option for USB connection. There are only various bps speeds.

Dude I don't even have a firewall. I don't need to have a firewall becaude this computer is offline all the time.
I have -except the blueangel- 3 other PPCs that working fine. The blue angel worked fine before the wm6 upgrade (with wm5 xplode).

If anyone knows what's going on please let me know.

Hi There,

I'm new to upgrading my pda so please be a bit patient with me.

I tried upgrading my blue angel (Imate) from WM2003SE to WM6 and followed the wizard on the website. I managed to do everything except when I went to run Helmi_c update utility, it gave me and error - Country ID Error.

Does anyone happened to bump into this error, and if yes, can you suggest a way how to solve it. I search the forum to see whether someone encountered this prob, but seems I found none.

Thanks
MercuryCube

I am currently trying out this wonderful new WM6 port on BA.
But I was utterly disappointed, because during the usual setup rutine I discovered 2 important missing parts:
1: There is no support for Hungarian settings at Regional Settings!!!
2: Where is the familiar WM6 style keyboard? Here this is the plain white keyb again...

If anybody knows the reasons, post.

Make sure that "Enable advanced network functionality" has a checkmark. If that is not checked (or the device thinks that it is not), the USB port is going to act like a standard serial port.

That should fix it up.

Thanks for your help man. unfortunately if I enable this, the activesync on my PC freezes...
But I figured it out by hard reseting the BA. Now, there is the USB option that was missing...

First of all, to helmi_c and all the guys who made this beauty possible: THANK YOU SO MUCH! This is one great piece of software, and besides it made my day when it enabled me to bring my beloved Qtek 9090 back to life. I only have one question: what happened to the option of using the metric units system, instead of the old-fashioned English imperial system?

Again thanks for a super job! - Elezer

How to get Active Sync works with new WM6 for BAFor starters, you need to have activesync 4.5.

Beyond that, you didn't give enough info.

What windows enviroment are you running under (XP, vista, 2000?)
What errors are you getting?
If no errors, what is not happening that you think should?
How are you connecting to the computer, bluetooth, wifi, USB?

You have to be specific

did you reach the stage (after 20 minutes of flashing the rom) where the "congratulations..." dialog came out, and your phone indicated 100%?

2. Microsoft Activesync 4.5 cannot connect my sx66 to PC.

3. Battery is draining like anything.

Has anybody encountered the sme problem.

Detail: I'm using windows vista

there is a method in installing the new rom if you're using wmdc with vista. it took me some moments to comprehend it (i also am using wmdc with vista) but just follow the directions. it's already in the wiki... i think it was kerio who posted the link. if you're not using windows vista, i believe it's better to upgrade via activesync.

edit: it was kerio, here's the thread. it might help you

@xplode!

I just found that the "ROM CrossBow for Prophet" has the Hungarian Regional Settings I need. So (although I don't know how this works) maybe it's possible to extract the necessary files/registry from it. I found this here on the forum, so it's a xda-dev release for sure.

homa

Hmm... A little more browsing over the forums gave the following CAB:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=49027&d=1188765740

I didn't saved the post in which it was, but with this CAB installed (and softreseted obviously) now I have my home regional setting.

So anybody, who search for (lets see) Hungarian, Bulgarian, or Tatar Regional Settings for Windows Mobile 6 (WM6) on Blue Angel, should follow the link above. I hope I gave enough stuff for the search engine ;)

While trying to get A2DP to work by turning on BT and doing the Set to Wireless Stereo thingy, I encountered the following disappearing applets from Start-Settings:

a) Personal - MS VC 1.6
b) Systems - Backlight, Device Information, Keyboard Backlight, Mic AGC, Power, Screen Orientation, Sim Manager and X-button
c) Connections - CSD Line Type, GPRS Setting and Wireless LAN.

If I soft reset, all the icons returns.

Sometimes, I get the above also when I use my GPS (gpsgate) and A2DP running at the same.

It's very strange that the above is happening. I have not encountered the above phenomenon when using WM5 roms. Other than disappearing applets, the rest of WM6 is running fine.

If anyone has experienced this, please highlight it here.
