Did you flash USPL? If you did, you can get into bootloader and flash another rom.

but I get an error all the time !!!

What error? Did you flash USPL before you flashed the wrong rom? If so and if the rom doesn't contain IPL or SPL you should be able to just flash from bootloader (try big storage and pdaviet). USPL can't be flashed from bootloader.

Never heard of error 207, but did hear of "270 Update Error". Remove micro SD card and SIM and try again! Does it start flashing at all and then gives an error or is it at 0%? What's the error message? Be specific!

and the USPL DOS program cannot see the phone in boot mode
True, you can't flash USPL anymore (like said before), that's why I ask if you succesfully flashed in the past.... still waiting for an answer tho

linterna
29th August 2007, 09:23 PM

This is reported to solve the error 270 problem for other people.

linterna, Have you tried to flash one of these ROM's but first remove you micro SD card? It is hard to follow what you said you did to get into this problem. Perhaps you could repost with specifics of every step you made starting with the OEM ROM.

(sorry vippie, looks like we posted the same advice at nearly the same time!)

thank you guy for your answers
ok let's start from the beginning
I flashed the phone with the wrong ROM so the phone now is freezes in the first screen with OS 4.0.0.0 and then I have this problems the phone power up and freezes in the first screen and it doesn't connect thru usb .but when I put it in boot mode the usb can detect it ( there is no sim or memory card on the phone) and I can run the ROM updater but I have the 270 error all the time and then I try to run the USPL but I cannot do it because the usb doesn't detect the phone!!!!!
so it's like I'm stack!!!!!
what should I do??
any help will be appreciated

literna,
Did you run the CID unlock patch prior to flashing the wrong ROM? What ROM did you try to flash and why? What were you trying to accomplish? Have you tried to hard reset you phone? If so what happened? If you did not CID patch your phone, then it may not be over written and a hard reset may recover it.

General advice: In your last post, you only stated the same things from your earlier posts which were somewhat lacking. If you are newer to this forum or to this type of phone, it will help you greatly to read everything two or three times before flashing, write or print out a step by step script of what you need to do to flash it, then re-read and compare your script against the posted instructions to make sure they agree. Then think about flashing your phone.

p.s. - The very fist post by the moderator on the Elf Upgrading page is a step by step script for flashing any (ELF) ROM to the ELF. Compare what it says and report what your did relative to that post so we can fully understand how to help you further. You may need to run the enable RAPI script to re-establsih communication, but this depends on what you may have already done.

Did you run the CID unlock patch prior to flashing the wrong ROM?well I didn't flash it with the wrong ROM but I flashed a couple of times before the wrong one!! What ROM did you try to flash and why?I tryed to put spanish on my ELF and I don't know what ROM I flashed it aparently a bad one!!! What were you trying to accomplish? spanish Have you tried to hard reset you phone?yes I already try (if you talking about the reset boton near to the mic on the bottom of my device) If so what happened? If you did not CID patch your phone, then it may not be over written and a hard reset may recover it.

From the XDA Elf Wiki:

"To hard reset: hold down send/reject buttons (green/red at the front) and reset with the stylus; keep holding the buttons till you get 'this will erase all your personal data' message, then press 'action' (big front button) to hard reset."

If you tried to flash more than once and it did not take on the first try, odds are that you've only corrupted the active software in the phone's memory. You may not have affected the ROM image which is protected. Hard resetting is more than just pressing the reset button in the little hole on the bottom.

It's time to try a real hard reset and see what happens. Let me know. Sounds like you are going nowhere otherwise. Good Luck.

ELF0IMG.nbh on a FAT32 filesystem

Empty (erase the contents) of your microSD card from the Windows Mobile file explorer or format it from your computer using a card reader (in some cases format doesn't work).

Extract the .NBH file from your prefered ROM upgrade: In windows use winrar (right click) to extract the contents of the exe file. In Linux / MacOS use cabextract.

Rename the .NBH file to ELF0IMG.nbh and copy it to the root folder of your microSD card.

With microSD card inserted on the phone, start the bootloader (The bootloader is invoked by hold down the camera button and reset device with the stylus).

confirm flashing on screen by pressing the volume slider down.
Flashing might hang after some time but this is normal. Just wait. Complete flash takes about 30 minutes, so check your battery or connect to charger before the flashing process starts.

SuperCID devices are able to flash any NBH image using this method.

If we get really desperate, you can try the SD procedure, but using the USPL nbh file from POF, the moderator's first post on the Elf Upgrading page. In theory, this may work, but I know of no one who has tried.

ELF_USPL_v1.nbh would need to be renamed ELF0IMG.nbh on the SD card and enter bootloader as per the previous post. If this does anyting, you would need to immediately flash the OEM ROM image using the same method. This must take on the first attempt after running the USPL as this is only a patch for the CID unlock which goes away after any hard reset. It allows you one flash.

If you bootloader is corrupt though, I don't think you are going anywhere :(

Linterna,
If you don't have the USB connection, Enter bootloader as before and connect the phone to the USB Cable. I believe if you download, unzip and run the Enable-RAPI this may (should) load the drivers to communicate with the USB mobile device. You would be advised also to remove any sign of a windows mobile device in windows device manager on your PC. This will permit a fresh connection when your run the enable-rapi program. Again Good luck, let's see this thing through .:)

From POF's sticky page:

"Update:
Some ROMs (specially O2 Nova) don't allow to run unsigned applications by default and some people have reported difficulties installing USPL. If you see a popup asking to run unsigned code, you need to rapi-unlock your phone manually, to do this download enable-rapi.zip and follow the instructions inside the file prior to installing USPL."

Found the OEM ROM on another forum post. It appears that since the device was not in the USPL patched state, the only flash it would accept was the OEM. USB communication was toasted so finding the OEM ROM and using the SD Flashing info from the Wiki did the deed. :):D

Hey ppl i have solved the problem...
to help others facing the same problem this is what i did :

1. Boot by pressing camera+power.
2. Connect USB and check if the usb text comes on the left bottom or else your pda is not connected
3. Download the original ROM from http://www.dopodasia.com/download/RU...ip_Reduced.exe
4. Update using this Original ROM file.
5. Once complete the Phone boots.
6. The original ROM looks very sad.
7. So now you repeat the process of flashing the ROM :
8. Copy the two files Cert_SPCS.cab and EnableRapi.cab install in the same order
9. Run elf-uspl.exe
10. Update any ROM you want.

IF EVER YOU GET STUCK KEEP THE ORIGINAL ROM IN HANDY. THE LINK IS FOR HTC TOUCH ELF.

PLEASE REMOVE MEMORY CARD & SIM CARD WHILE DOING THIS.

Nice to hear that, but the reason because it works for you it's that you actually find and flash your device with your original rom. It only works if you find a rom that match your original DEVICE and CID ID.
