helmi_c: maybe you will share some tech. info about your process of creation this working rom?
(yes, I haven't hima, mine is hx4700 and there is wm6 already for mine pda, just I'm curious about some things...)

1) XIP creation:
Did you copied all msxipkernel package modules from wm6? If so - where you've placed region_1 for two modules that wasn't in wm5 (encfilt and cachefilt you've moved above of ceddk? or different modules instead of them? or just removed them? (btw, you can simple remove encfilt and even cachefilt, at least for my hx i can do so)

2) .ROM and .VM ... didn't you modified their values?
I noticed (from two wm6's, universal's and m$ emulator's) that e32_vbase from .VM is set equal to ulRAMEnd from XIP's ROMHDR (and that wasn't so for wm5). Also one thought ... e32_entryrva ... isn't it pointing to highest vbase+vsize of imgfs modules (but not xip's modules)...

3) did you checked for a crossmapping between imgfs and xip modules?
(I noticed that wm6 modules vbase+vsize became more higher than wm5 ones)

3) more important - registry creation
How you've created a registry? Registry is really a thing from where bugs are coming... Did you created registry from .rgu's from packages? If so - in what order they was parsed?
(For my hx wm6's registry can be created just from rgu's but need to put them in a right order when parsing.)

well... WM6 upgrade is not like a CAB install..lol, it takes a LOT OF HARD WORK, and for some its impossible, if I tell them to wait for a phenomenal upgrade, let them wait, they should wait or create their own upgrade, feel free, I got nothing to loose anyway..., its its worth every second of waitin crap.

Oh btw, here's a screenshoots on apache device that I hv, I've already port to WM6 AKU.0.7.0, its simple for me cos I'm familiar with it..:)

Images removes

or this?

EDIT:
Images removes... It wont happen from me at least...:)

nice isnt, old device hv the newest WM6 that only Universal device hv it for now..

If you hv problem with that? I will send you the beta rom and you make it work? its only a battery stuff, not much, cos I've done the impossible stuff with porting wm6 on hima, how about that? and you do the release stuff, I only hv 1 single request, put TofClock name on it, deal?

It just battery status crap thing...and it also will shut gprs...
What do you mean by that?
Is there a way a phonecall won't break a gprs session? Is it a matter of system settings, or radio? (As for now I'm using radio 1.17).

And as of release dates... well, I'm a developer, too... and I'll tell you all the only effect of keeping strict release dates is a bunch of s*** broken software crap. Even if you're sure you will end with something tomorrow... well, it could go as bad, as another two weeks of work ;)

Rudegar

"What do you mean by that?"

i believe he mean that if the batt meter dont work correctly
the pda will act as if it's running out of power and take actions
to avoid it like disabling the batt hungry tasks like gprs
and the likes

"Is there a way a phonecall won't break a gprs session? Is it a matter of system settings, or radio?"

i think it's a isp issue and not a setting or radio one
but i could be wrong

Yeap.. Maybe he's right...

If the windows's battery reader doesn't work, why don't get ride of it?
Then we could try to use any other program to read the battery status.

Obaz is saying he could make wm "blind" disabling the dll that read the battery status on the wm registrity, would be that possible in hyma?

I doubted about this since yesterday when the Rom available for download. I don't know much about him but this is a stupid move and he must know what he has to do now to the developer. He really destroyed the good will of Helmi and the hope of Hima lovers. First, I know nothing about this when I downloaded the Rom from C_Shekhar. But now, I things are clear, I decided to use the WM5 instead...Sorry Helmi, that's what I think I should do. Now, I'm gonna return to Buzz 3.33a. However, your Rom is superb Helmi...Now, are you gonna leave us as Buzz did, really sorry to hear that.

I agree with you, don't think the job is done.

Helmi_C done a great job, and the idea of giving the first Hima VM6 ROM to Tofclock memory is wondefull, don't think c_shekhar got the point, maybe becouse we have been sharing ROMs all the time to improve them quicker.

But in this special case we all should make an effort an finish the ROM as Helmi_C wish and be named by Tofclock.

It is not the default dialer of WM6. When u flash the rom you will get the default one of WM6. But the the zip folder does contain an optional installer for HTC Dialer. The screenshot is with HTC Dialer installed.

thanks my friend, and all who support me, but now everything I planned for the big memorize of our beloved friend, is ruined by that sick person... Nothing special now...:)

I will never support this Himalaya crap no more...I just lost my goal with this hima crap now... for me its useless and pointless, what the hell am I doin messin around with device OS that I dont even hv or even like it?? hell no!

you guys go figure out you self or ask that smart thief to help you...

best regard all,

helmi_c

Helmi_C how many people are there in this world with sick mind and stupid attitude problems. If you going to stop the work just because of them then you won't be able to do anything because you fill find these type of people everywhere and anytime. We have to be strong minded and we have to complete the mission we have take upon. I am 100% sure Tufflock wouldn't like you to give up so easily? would he?
All I want to say is that because of two or three people we cannot loose our destination/mission.

I would encourage you to keep on working with what you are doing and not to putoff by some stupid comments people made.

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT and this Forum started for some reason, if someone makes wrong or invalid comments we should block him instead of stopping our work!!

Kind Regards

Jay

Ever since people started trying to upgrade their Hima's, some of these hero's even bricked theirs, people have been releasing work that at least was not entirely their work. Some do have the courtesy to thank those who've helped them directly, some don't. Some released their home-cooked ROMs based on Helmi's work (for example) using Helmi's name in the file name, some put their own name in this place. It all happened before and not just with Helmi's work.

OTOH so many people have contributed till now that we can't expect them to mention all in the name of the release file:
the "Microsoft HTC Himalaya Buzz Lightyear TofClock Helmi C_Shecklar and so on and so forth WM5 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ROM?"

I don't like the way this release came to us. But C_Shecklar does credit Helmi and TofClock in his release message (perhaps a later edit, but it is there for all eternity now.)

The worst thing about his release by my opinion is the boot screen with his name and no credits, but that's easy to replace. He should have at least have changed that the moment Helmi protested.

And the good news is that the memory bug indeed got solved very soon after his release.

I hope Helmi will one day find his peace in this situation and will shake hands with c_shecklar or at least with the rest of this community.

Anyhow, he wanted to dedicate this release to TofClock, I guess we all agree on that and this fact came probably even more in the spotlight than if Helmi would have come with the first release.

i agree with maggy and i share helmi's sentiments. the dedication and will that helmi gave toward a [planned] release of a stable wm6 for himalaya in Tofclocks name is worthy of praise. a decent and humble intention from a true friend tainted by another with a flashy boot screen release and a name all over it. the release may have solved some bugs and it did benefit the community but it does not defeat the fact that the legacy will no longer be Tofclocks.
the damage is done and there is nothing more to do than correct it. therefore i suggest to make a collective compilation of fixes that would make himalaya wm6 as stable as it can be. sharing a single release that would continously be improved( like linux )and have the final release hard coded in Tofclocks name. i'm sure if tofclock see this happen it would give him smile in his face!

Hi Helmy,

It's great to hear that finally have chance to taste the WM6 version but lately your great job has broke your friendship with C_Shekar, I don't what happened with two of you but let's us together side by side fix all the problems and build a great rom which will dedicated to Tofclock. Maybe it would be a good idea if all of you will name that perfect rom with WM6 Tofclock. All of you are the best who have made anything possible with our himalaya devices. Don't put this argue or quarell spreading wide and finally make microsoft or htc laughing.

Cheers from Jakarta

But I'm so sorry to inform you guys, the release of this rom will be delayed for trouble I hv with battery (charging is ok) and gprs stuff (data will check battery status to work..crap!)... everything else seems to be working good like sms/call/activesync, etc, So I'm calling Himalaya developers to work with it battery and gprs stuff, cos I'm not familiar with this himalaya device, and I dont hv many driver set for it, and also I just borrow this himalaya from friend...

Currently c_shekhar (the man who betrayin me) help nothing with this himalaya wm6 battery and gprs stuff. And I would like to invite more dev to work on this also, more head is better...lets work together on this to keep things faster for users benefit...

I dedicated This Himalaya WM6 For my dear friend TofClock, rest in peace my friend. My deepest condolences to his family and friends... You will always be remembered In our heart...

Dear Helmi,

I have downloaded your rom abd tried to flash into my himalaya device, but after flashed and put back the device into cradle it seemed it couldn't connect through activesync. there's an error message displayed at the device screen about activesync problem. could you let me know how to solve it?

helmi_c: maybe you will share some tech. info about your process of creation this working rom?

(For my hx wm6's registry can be created just from rgu's but need to put them in a right order when parsing.)

i didnt look at himalaya but then other ppcs are the same so i can try answering.

1) encfilt can be removed fine. but if you are lucky they will fit in the xip.. for example i removed the bootscreen from nk on one device, then edited PE info for nk so nk became smaller and then encfilt fit in :) (i meant fitting it physically. virtual memory for their .data sections shouldnt be a limitation usually)

2) yes, you are correct noticing those.. but it (ulramend) didnt seem relevant in .VM (using another value introduced no problems)
