1) It is a well known issue. If you don't want this to happen, leave WiFi turned on before resseting your device.

Regarding not working buttons, that should be a hardware related issue. Check if all cables inside are connected properly.

also found if you use the icon in the bottom right that looks like comm manager icon it's wifi only settings, just tap the turn on wifi link from it's first page and on it goes hehehe

I've not been able to get both profiles working at the same properly. seems the headset profile will connect but not functioning (meaning despite device saying it is connected, communication remains with device). also noticed a SPP Slave prob. my i-blue would connect then disconnect when i opened street atlas. possible street atlas software problem?

I had the same problem with WM5.AKU ROM earlier. I could not solve the problem then. Maybe right now there will be some solution. If the problem was "on" than it could not synchronize with outlook as well.

First of all I would like to say thank you for the stability OS for BA. I didn't have any problem either.

Just only a little suggestion when connecting with Bluetooth headset it should be appear a symbol of Bluetooth headset on the top of the screen.

I never had to tweak anything.

I was also able to pair my wireless stereo headset but the sound was awful like the connection is constantly being interrupted and connected again. Not really useable. I will try my other BT earpiece togteher with BTAUDIO+
I really hope that works because iot means I can use the 9090 as telefoon too, since I am only using BT headsets.
Btw when connected a wireless headset icon is showed in the titlebar like it suppose to be.As you can see in the below screen shot.

Playing a video in landscape isn't good either. The battery gauge is double in landscape.

But in overal I am satisfied and I will wait patiently for an SP1:)

Have a bit of a jurking issue with Audiomanager but not sure if it is the size of the file 12M and the 192 sampel size all of this of the SD card. I will have to move the files to ram to see iif it improves.

Hand no problem with picking up a call and ending it while music was on. Had a bit of an issue with a call and sms at the same time, had to close the Audio manger to get the music working again.

Most painful issue is the setup to stop the buttoms working and keep the screen off while playing music. Does anybody know a trick to lock everthing without turning the BA off. (my seetings are lock all but power, alas power off stops the player).

Never stayed with wm5 so missed all of that and if I do a search on "wm6 phone skn" I get far to many Iphone hits. Wiki does not help me much on the WM5 or WM6 part.

Ok thanks. I meanwhile tried two BT earpieces and they both don't work as they use to with BTAUDIO. I am able to pair, but I don't know if I am connected since I don't see the icon this time. What I hear is noise and crackling, that's basically it.I remove the wireless stereo and the other BT earpiece before pairing the second one.

What version of BT is being used in this ROM?

I know this will work, but most of the time, I have to tap it on it multiple times to get it on. Sometimes it didn't work at all. This issue if i'm not mistaken it's quite common to many people.

when i'm playing music... i lock the device manually from a shorcut... and keep it in my pocket... that way buttons are deactivated. and screen switches off in another minute or so(backlight setting ) .. thus not draining the battery

Is Helmi Touch Dialer_2g for WM6 version only?
I tried installing it on WM5 ROM. It seems to work quite goood tho.
However, the smartdialing function is working only on the fisrt time use. When i finished the first call, i went on and made the second, the function was no longer working - -~

Small problem:

I use a dialer skin from Buzzdev: Virgy DeepOcean Dialer for WM5 QVGA. In WM5, the left softkey used to be contacts, in WM6, it has changed to hide keypad. Has anybody else seen this and does anybody have a fix?

For example is I try to install HTC homeplug and also try to run HTC streaming application I always get an error saying that it's not digitally signed with a trusted certificate. Thank you. The GSM poroblem is solved. I installed WM2003 once agin, after that deleted all possible to delete files and installed WM6. ActiveSync partially works - activesync synchronyzes everything, but I can not access to the mobile device files through explorer. No error messages, just emnpty MobileDevice Folder in My Computer. No files inside. With 2003 and WM 5 everything was fine. The OS is WinXP Pro

HI Yael. Is it still funcioning good? I upgraded to WM6, but GSM is always SEARCHING... or NO SERVICE. in 10 softresets, maybe 1 get connected. I'm having this problem sinc WM5, So I was back to WM3. Tried again in WM6, but no luck. I'm using SX66, and the Carrier is TIM wich is 1800 mhz (or 1900, not shure). Read in other forum something issued to the 850 mhz carrier intalled in Brazil. It looks that the sx66 hangs in the 850 mhz and can't get connected in the proper GSM carrier. Wish WM6 and WM5 could have the BAND SELECTION option that WM3 have. This way, I could avoid the other lower mhz signal from been cautch.

I installed emunut's 'HTC Home Customizer' I found here but this customizes 'other' things not found on 'original' customizer. I want to customize profiles, speed dial and other stuff that I can probably find on this 'original' tool.

I have Blueangel with helmi's WM6 (working great, thanks helmi!) and Helmi_HtcHome6_WM5_comp_sdkcert.cab installed. I tried also some other HTC Home plugins I found in this forum, but also no options for customizing.

1. you don't need it anymore. Use the cabs in cab2.rar

2. in cabs.rar there is a cab called Helmi_Touch_Dialer_2G.CAB. which should give you the dialer skin.

With HTC Home installed, while syncing via ActiveSync with Exchange server, device becomes rrrrealllyyy slow. Sync never finishes. Disconnecting from cradle and resetting causes device never to boot up (hangs at WindowsMobile picture). Only HardReset helps - tried this two times.

The Emunutz stuff is to customize the plugin, like the Envius Home Configurator too.I use them. Dunno how to customize the speeddial and profiles yet.

Now some problems I experienced

1. switching BT off via the connection Manager doesn't mean it is off. I have experienced it was On while the BT icon in the manager was gray!

2. Sometimes I can't switch wifi on/off in the connection manager so I have to go the other way "settings","connections","wireless lan","Turn wifi On"(or Off)

That's it basically for now. I did reset the device and after the reset it worked normal again.

No really , but nobody noticed the missing TALK icon ? I know it's nothing serious , but maybe there is a way to dial the number without touching the keys by pressing on the screen somewhere ??

Of course I noticed the missing talk and end buttons. But if you think about it, it makes sense to use the hard buttons and not waste screen space for buttons that are already there.

Not the same :) KB is inside and keys are tiny. This skin has HUGE buttons and the talk/end keys are outside and always available( and also BIG) This whole arrangement makes it very easy to use the phone funtions without a stylus, which is the whole purpose of this skin, no?

Nope! I seem to be having the same issues, a bit of a bummer as I used to sync a shed load of RSS feeds by cradling

Last (10th) button - little cross - can be used to remove speed dial button assignment and later you can assign it again to new contact. About profiles I wonder also. Anyone?

Since my travel charger don't work anymore I noticed, that one of WM2003SE setting is missing - keep contacts, calendar and some other stuff in permanent memory. This can be painfull if you have restore nearby. Is this 'by desing' in WM6? Or just forgotten...

Hi, this is worthless question - in WM5/6 you are not using your RAM as a storage anymore (except RAMDisk) thus can't lose contacts/data when battery goes off.
Read about WM5 or WM6 before you want to USE IT! :(

Its up to you - there's no "technical" difference. (Some cabs require specif install order)

Did anyone notice lack of Backup/Restore in ActiveSync? Since I upgraded to WM6 I don't see it anymore. Recently my phone expirienced some hard resets so backup would be appriciated. Why is this so? I have latest ActiveSync and XPSP2 installed.

Any other software available that can do this job?

I installed this rom, and all worked perfectly, now ive put my simcard in the device (9090), and it asks me for a password, so i put in my pin nr. but it isnt correct according to the device. So i take my card out, reset the device, and it still asks me for a password?

What do i need to put there :S, ive only used 2 passwords on the device so far, never put in any more since ive got it, and those 2 passwords also dont work.

Yes, I agree with you.

with the entering password thing, I stop using that and start using slide2unlock which is more convenient for me. - and I have to use this due to the random wake up thing, so that I dont accidentally delete/press anything when BA wakes up... if this problem is solved, then I wouldnt need to lock up my BA

apart from minor issues (according to my everyday useage - with the most annoying thing is still the random wake up issue when bluetooth is on), this rom is very usable and i really have no major headache using it.

I also notice that occasionally BA sort of lags for a few seconds before continuing - but nothing major... it would continue after 2-3 seconds as normal.

Helmi and the boys have made most, if not all, users to fall in love with BA again... cheers...

This is called , the Damn Wm6 bug . Im sorry to tell you but u gotta HARD RESET your device. There's a forward option mate! just click menu then reply in the message. you'll see the forward option.

Perfect for my xda iis. one problem is battery last less than 8hours. standby. just my observation.

this is actually normal, and would require modification to the rom i believe to change it, personally i alraedy found boot up a bit slow, and occasionally a slow down but i think that maybe how the BA is handling the rom and will be ironed out in future versions and tweaks hehehe

Good job to the team members involved. Finally we made the first step into WM6. Well, just some generous feedback after upgraded to WM6. Experiencing hang once a while. Phone app does not work too well, occasionally failed to make calls and receive calls. I will wait for the next more stable version of WM6...revert back to WM5. I'm still having the problem connecting to my GSM carrier TIM (1800 mhz) in Brazil. I'm always getting NO SERVICE or SEARCHING...... I think it's because Vivo's network under 850 mhz. Is there any way to Select the Band, or simply disable 850 mhz band? Trying it since WM5 release, but with the same problem. I think if I can disable 850 mhz, It will work fine... Maybe a registry tweak?

I really want know is it possible to change band in BA, i have done it in old aku 2.3 of WM5 but since then .. i haven't any success

Well, it has been fun so far. The Rom is incredibly stable, fast, and reliable to say the least. I did report a problem with the battery being drained, but I found out that it was not the rom itself. I had an application called Slide2Unlock installed and it was draining my device like crazy (I figured this out after reading the posts, which I would recommend anyone before posting questions such as "what is the password for the rom?")
In any way, my battery consumption went back to normal (WM5 consumption level)
All in all, way to go Helmi!!!!

Oh, before I forget (and this is a little off-topic), but several of us were looking into installing the cube into our devices. Someone came up with a flash that simulates the cube fairly accurately. However, I would recommend that no one installs this (unless you want to become a tester) since this application makes the device very unstable. Especially, the config page has crashed my device virtually every time I run it

Anyway, my two cents up to this point...

Can't wait for the next release ;)

the only way to get the led back to green is by a soft reset!

nd....can any1 post the 10 button comm manager somewhere other than rapidshare? cz its blocked at my connection

Whenever i get a missed call, or something similar i get the red LED, after a few mins though, mine just changes back to green.

It's designed to alert you to a missed call, without even having to take the PDA off standby.

I see some MMS related files in the RAR file, but what do I do with the "MMS_Account.xml and MMS_Folder.xml files?

2 - I would like to have the clock show in a 24hr format.
I've changed the "settings > Regional Settings > Time" to hh:mm:ss tt, and this did change the clock format, but not to the 24hr system :/
Also, I'm not able to set the "Measurement system" to what I would like.. The only option is US (it's under "settings > Regional Settings > Number)

Read all the thread you post to me and installed the 1.0 version.
It enables the "Select you GSM/UMTS band" tab under Phone settings, but all options are BLANK. I think it's because BA doesn't have UMTS.

It enables the same thing as the "showUMTSband.cab" I found in another thread, but it doesn't make GSM Frequency BRAND selectable.
I also tried Band_tool.cab and BandSelect.CAB, but this cabs disables the phone driver. (It's for WM2003, I think).


I have read in another thread this setting:

GSM900 has a value of 1
GSM1800 has a value of 2
GSM900/1800 has a value of 3
GSM1900 has a value of 4
Automatic has a value of 7
gsm850 has a value of 8

The value is a bitmask:
bit 1: 900
bit 2: 1800
bit 3: 1900
bit 4: 850

so 5 means 101b - 1900+900
6 means 110b - 1900+1800
Setting 7 would make GSM to use 900, 1800, 1900
Probably the GSM part also tries to register on 850Mhz when 1900 is selected.

Where could I place this settings in registry? I think If I could just avoid the 850 mhz, All my problems would be solved.

Thanks for your interest in trying to help me.... The registry hack you're talking about is the "showUMTSband.cab"? It enables the tab, but it's empty.
It enables the same tab as the AdvancedConfig_v1.0.CAB enables. DANDANA's posted to me and I tried, without success.

An interesting thing is happening..... When the phone is in "NO SERVICE" and I place it in the cradle, It finds the GSM SIGNAL (in around 1 or 2 minutes). Soft-Resetted many times to make sure.... When the phone was in "SEARCHING" status, it didn't find the GSM provider when I placed phone in the cradle. When I soft-reset the phone without placing in the cradle, It keeps searching..... the GSM SIGNAL.
Just soft-resetted my BA now and placed in the cradle. It booted and quickly found the GSM signal. It first shows the "G" signal and then show the strenght of the GSM signal. Hope it can help you guys to find out the problem.....

Another annoying thing is that when it finds the GSM signal, it doesn't show the operator's Name "TIM", but only the operator's code "72403". Is it normal in other countries?

I jus reliase that i not able to change theme (tsk format) after few day of testing n testing software on my new WM6 on xda2s, i know the top-bottom bar issue but what i mean is the background image also not changing.

I had a similar problem on WM5, there was something funky going on with the SIM card. A replacement one fixed it. Try another card if you have one available.

I have made some other testing and it looks to be a battery (energy) issue.... When I soft-reset the phone and place it in the cradle, it finds the GSM signal.
So I have disconnected the USB cable from my computer and just let the cradle in the wall charger. If I soft-reset the BA and place it in the cradle, it finds the GSM signal (cradle in the wall charger, and cradle in the USB cable). If I soft-reset and let it boot just in the battery (not in the cradle), it hardly finds the GSM signal.

maybe a registry hack to increase power for RADIO?

At first I want to thank all the poeple which where involved into the WM6 project for our BA.

Now I want to thank Helmi for making the ROM and give it to us. (Missing a mysterious Sound in the Background here .. Voodoo)

I never thought I would change my signature again because of a new BA ROM. After reading the "bad news" for a while I got an Neo and went to the Prophet Forums. Now after a few month I came back, seeing the WM6 release.

I installed it today without any trouble.
I hope that some of the remaining problems can be ironed out soon so that our BA is back in business for a while. Let me know if I can do something for that, since I don't use my BA as all day phone atm.

I think your issue IS the battery... try another one. Search for the password problem in the forum, we're not the only one.

regarding my question about the differences of the two different cabs, i still want to know, what those differences are... i can read myself, but even the filename doesn't tell me excactly what difference is .... so it's compatible with WM2005... or what?

Which programs have you installed in your device? The reason I am asking is because there are some applications such as Slide2Unlock that will drain your battery. It is possible that there are more apps that have this problem as well. Just a thought...

Two more small things -
1 - I would love to get MMS going again.
I've downloaded the "missing" stuff cab files (and un-rared the files), but that's about it.
I see some MMS related files in the RAR file, but what do I do with the "MMS_Account.xml and MMS_Folder.xml files?

2 - I would like to have the clock show in a 24hr format.
I've changed the "settings > Regional Settings > Time" to hh:mm:ss tt, and this did change the clock format, but not to the 24hr system :/
Also, I'm not able to set the "Measurement system" to what I would like.. The only option is US (it's under "settings > Regional Settings > Number)

Yes I've got it going some days ago.
Problem was that I selected HH:mm:ss tt (note the tt)
When I selected HH:mm:ss all was fine.

I have a small bug to report, it is relatively minor but worth noting anyhow. Sometimes when I cradle my device, it automatically switches to vibrate mode. I don't think I am touching the volume slider since it has happened rather randomly and most times, I see it after it has synced with AS.
Anyone else with this bug?

i have all the cabs for explode that posted on this thread installed including the HTC home cab.
no more applications other than TCPMP player and Arabizer v2

the thing is i tried installing battery pack Pro v2 and removed HTC home and somehow the draining kept going but in a less rate.
donnu why but at the end both still drain the battery at a very high rate, imagine in a 1 hour drive with no calls made battery gets to zero.
i know it's not a battery problem cause i have also another battery with same behaviour.
in my view i think it's related to the HTX plugins like audi manager and home but still not sure cause i cannot hard reset like u guys too many times as my card reader slot is not functioning and needs to be replaced so no memory cards for me >.<

2. you should install aditional codecs for Wmv support in TCPMP, about the media player fullscreen to landscape there was a registry tweak that does it but i do not remember it

Thought I can help out a little here.... If you want to play video in landscape in WMP, do the following:

1. goto HKLM/System/GDI/Rotation
2. Change the value of "LandscapeMode" to 1

That will do it! However, whenever u do a soft reset, u will have to set the value again as it will e reset to zero after the reset. Have FUN!

Ok, I flashed the rom from get device id:

I bought a used blue angel that had no upgrades done to it.

So, I follow the steps to flash it (btw only issue was I couldn't get the extended rom step to work - did the whole no yes yes and followed step by step but it errored off - can't remember it, so I skipped it.

Anyway it's stable, everything works ok except for the music - so I installed audioplayer and tried w/ it - still very skippy / jerky settles down after about 2 minues. So I did the registry tweak:

Look for PHM RegEdit. It's a free editor. Works a treat as well.

It's set to 64 - music still stutters in wm but not audioplayer - yeah!

But, now I had a bluetooth headphone / headset (works for steror and phone) and it's hugely magnified - cuts in and out, and out and out and then back - the little timer thing on the bottom is totally not counting the time correctly.

2. You need to install unsigned drivers how to do it - USE GOOGLE

A complete reset will need the no/yes/yes options.You will lost everything.

My experiences:
1. The registry hack for landscape mode WMP works, but as soon as I switch to fullscreen playback, the picture goes fuulscreen but without rotating, so only part of the video is visible (magnified).
2. @xlode: In WM5 I didn't install any plug-in, extension or whatsoever for TCPMP 0.66. And I think it could use the same DLLs WMP does.
3. PPCContactsMgr looks great, but the thing I'm missing is the original (OS) functions for sending (just one!) contact. I'll try to fix this (reinstall), so if there are missing reg entries, it will be solved. If not...

Conclusion: I think I go back to WM5. I am sure you guys working hard on this shiny new WM6 ROM and that it will work even better. So if a new release come out, I'll try that immediately. Until that, I try reinstalling, and than reverting.

You can't flash holding it in your hand. If you put it in the cradle the serial will change to USB which is correct:D Or are you stuck in the boot screen?

NO It is not just Brazil, same problem exists here in Poland.. I can not seem to make gsm signal work."no service" Tried everything .. Went through settings tried to configure manually and so on , no luck... Can someone please post a fix for that...

Did a hard rest, formated the whole thing, I also get the screen with the colors but no options !!

Why you want this rom? The present WM6 rom is also from helmi_c.

You can hardly call the MS explorer and filemanager. Greensoft's is much better!

About the missing beam option in Contacts and Calendar, it was because of a faulty localization (although it said it was for WM6!), so xplode was right about the reg entries. This problem had gone with a new install.

But by TCPMP, after I installed 0.72 on a fresh WM5 and it plays WMVs like natural. In WM6, I only got the error message.

So finally I'm back to 5.0. Another 2 minor problem I noticed using WM6:
1. While reading an SMS (or text message) the letters appear to be larger than the set text size. The program scrolls down too, so that the sender is not visible.
2. The sounds & notification settings loads awfully slow. Maybe it's because some file searching?

(PS: I'm moving on to Universal... so long Blue Angel... I had great time with it :) )

If i use mp3 or any ringtone from SD card, BA will ring only after about 6-7 rings on the caller phone... And only if BA is in standby. If i use BA and have a call, it immediatelly rings.
If i copy the file to Windows\Rings, it works ok.

Is it an SD card manager bug, or sg else?

the original file manager is inside the rom already but you have to change some registryes to enable it

Hi there

I've tried to upgrade to the WM6 Rom but it gives me an error 120: Country ID Error and says that the ROM was not made for my region, Can somebody please assist on how to resolve this problem.

Anybody can solved this.
1. Cannot use STK Service. It cannot get information from operator.
2. On Wirelss Manager. I cannot turn on the mobile phone after turnit it off.

When trying to beam outlook contacts to my WM6 PDA2K I get the error the PIM Item Service cannot be found on the device. It seems that the services offered by the BA are not loaded into the bluetooth profile or something to that effect.

Anyone with any help, suggestions, solutions?
