Now i am stuck on the screen with coloured bars.......

i DID NOT run the big storage change before updating.....

any way i can save my device?

Thank you very much Helmi tested working fine. I hope if anyone can help me BT A2DP worked fine on the first day using Itech blueband headset after that it stopped. There is a connection can pause play or forward rewind on the headset controls but no sound. sometimes i hear sound for 1 sec then it stops.Using O2XDA lls Rom version 5.60.00 radio version 1.15.00 protocol version 1337.45. MMS tested not working too.MMS Server has been set as per mobile operator settings. GPRS is working fine. Dont remove battery without disabling the password as WM6 forgets the password.

I'm trying to connect my ba with Helmi's rom to a wpa protected wifi. This wifi is using a certificate and an eap-mschapv2 protocol to authenticate.
After installing the certificate and trying to connect, the connection simply drops without asking for credentials.
Wifi module is actually working, as i've succesfully started a connection over a wpa-psk protected wifi.

Another problem: the screen loses calibration every now and then (once a day). I'd like to know if i'm the only one encountering this strange behaviour.

You are mixing two different things. The radio firmware is something different from radio driver. You are talking about radio firmware. You can flash it independetly of ROM (by ROM I mean the Windows Mobile image) by flashing GSM radio fw to CDMA device (or vice-versa) you will probably destroy the radio part. I know some people who tried this on their Palm Treo 650, which is based on Blue Angel platform, and their radio never worked again. You didn't brick your device only because the WM6 ROM doesn't contain radio part.

...there is, however, one more thing in your device's software which is different for GSM and for CDMA. For talking to radio part in your device (which is driven by radio fw) you also need the radio driver, which is once again different for GSM and for CDMA. You could try extracting that driver from other CDMA device (possibly Apache) but that is beyond my scope of knowledge. I don't know if it is even possible to extract a single driver from driver part of WM ROM image.

It has been some time I was active in this forum because, I had lost the hope that WM6 will ever come to BA. In that confusion I bought the NOKIA E90 communicator, (I regret for doing so), after some few weeks I found out that communicator is not at all even a PDA, its just a smartphone. I am using that just as a phone. Again now I have started to use my BA.

Make sure about these things :
- U had download the correct Helmi WM6 Pro R0.
- Enter bootloader mode before flashing.
- Connect correctly in craddle or USB cable, and activesync 4.5 is active.

It must be very easy to flash this ROM.

There is no way to rebuild IMEI and What For ??:confused:

Well I found a way to solve the BTA2DP problem. It supports stereo & is just fantastic. I dont know how to post the cab files but you can find these by the following link http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=freeware & this software works too http://www.trianglepowers.com/PPC/ViewApp.aspx?ID=52 (have to register to download). I prefer Teksoft freeware as I am using it

to my friend whos trying to restore the old contacts..once ur upgraded ur device to 2005 or 2006...u can't restore old contacts from the 2003

but u can do one thing...its long process but doable

u can downgrade ur device...and then install this prog (PPCBckpContacts)
it will create a very small file with all ur contacts in ur memory card..then upgrade ur device...install the same prog then restore from the same prog...

if one of the guys here has a better idea or shorter...it will be better 4 u...also there is another porg u can use...its called (Jeyo Mobile Companion 1.1)from it..u can back up ur contacts and msgs to ur pc..and it doesnt matter which windows ur using...also u can edit ur contacts and send msgs from it,..there r other versions to this prog. but this is the best one...if u need the prog i can provide it with the crack...

You can't restore WM2003 backup to WM6. the alternative way is sync your contact and appointment from Outlook to BA via activesync 4.5.

If you didn't store your contact in Outlook before, my suggestion is downgrade to WM2003 first, restore the backup, then send your contact and appointment to Outlook via activesync 4.5, then re-upgrade to WM6.

about your error message, it has been discussed and explained in wiki...please take time to read it thoroughly...it's there so people can read and re-read it to extract the information...

i'm pretty sure you missed one or two steps in the upgrade process..thus, you got the error message...

i'm sorry that i can NOT pin point to which part of wiki should you read because i don't know steps u were taken to upgrade ur device...the only one who can help you is your self by re-read the upgrade guide and remember carefully which steps that u missed at the first try...

I installed this ROM and everything is working GREAT so far... the problem is... Direct Push is dead.... I'm getting e-mails to my work account on an exchange 2003 server... and if I manually hit sync in activesync it works fine... I've checked CommManager and Direct Push is enable... but its a no go, it doesn't get the e-mails immediately like it used to.....

am I missing something?

My GPS doesn't work since upgrading :(

I have a serial GPS wired into my car holder, and it used to work fine in WM5. Under WM6, TomTom says no GPS, while other apps say they can't open the port. Using the WM GPS sharing thing doesn't work either.

Hi there, I have read through every one of the 58 pages of this thread, but can't find a solution to one problem, when I go to enable speakerphone while in a call(by holding down the green "answer" key of my Blue Angel) I hear a brief milisecond of loud sound coming out of my speaker as if speakerphone is getting enabled, but the sound disappears and the device becomes mostly unresponsive. I press the end call button but the device stays "in call" for another 20 or 30 seconds until it finally hangs up. I can leave the "program" early if i press the x-button at the top right corner of the screen.

Is this happening to anyone else?

I have run all the cabs that came additionally to the rom upgrade.

I upgraded from wm2003se but this Blue Angel has seen various other roms, including wm5 roms which back then were painfully handicapped.

i just reverted back to 2005 because of my faulty battery, WM6 'eats' more battery and it is important that she is in good shape, stuff mine isn't.
So, like WM5 until now, is working nice, i'll keep on this, but once my new battery arrives, i'll go back to WM6 again!

Started with WM2003SE, Flashed to WM5 when it was first released here, now moved onto WM6.

Flashed to WM6 4 days ago - installed all my apps, games, tweaks, etc. - played around, poked and prodded it a fair bit.

CONCLUSION....

LOVE IT!
I've had to find some newer apps, as some of the ones I've been using don't work fully with WM6 (mainly backup software, PC-to-XDA managers and games), but this isn't really an issue, 'caus I love to surf for that type of stuff anyway!

The main problem I've seen is the BT issue - where it turns on the phone every few minutes. (this led to a friend being phoned every 10 mins, for about an hour, at 6:00am one morning as I was on the motorway and couldn't get into my jeans pocket to get the phone out :rolleyes: oops!) But, apart from that one day it hasn't been a problem - I have a car charger, and I only really use the BT there for hands free! so not really much of a problem for me. As long as you turn it off when you aren't using it, the BT issue isn't to worrying - and I KNOW that the brains here will have that fixed soon, so I can live with it 'till then.

Stability is great - BT now has no isues pairing and staying connected with all my other devices (some which had disconnecting issues before)
Load time is fine
Look and feel - where it's changed it's sweet.
Crashing / freezing - none so far (apart from a few incompatible software issues [my stuff] which is what made me go look for newer stuff - but in general usage, none)

If you're looking for some decent new apps for WM6
;)You can't go wrong by looking at the SPB site - http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/?en - their apps ROCK! I'm using 'Pocket Plus' and 'Time'
:D The backup software of choice for me is Maytec.net GmbH Mobile Backup 2007 - http://www.zoomerart.net/index.php?target=desc&progid=10515 - The scheduled backup is a nice little touch, and being able to store and index on the PC is also easy!

sometimes when bluetooth is enabled and connected to a gps component, phone is unable to make calls. it says "dialing ..." and no more response.It doesn't actually try to make a call, it freezes and I can't hang up. but phone itself is responsive for other functionalities.
I tried soft reboot and hard reboot but no luck so far.
Any ideas?

I use Shape Service IM+ for google chat and yahoo messanger.
Skype for PPC for making a voice call.
Both of them run smoothly with Wifi connection.
IM+ can run smoothly with GPRS connection too.

Is there a way to flash this rom (I'll settle for any other WM6) from the sd card? My pc connector is broken on the phone, I've been pointed to a few options but it requires a rom dump, which essentially requires an active sync connection to be able to do that as well.

There's no way to install without using the cradle or the USB cable.

Coz it needs to be done at boot loader and it only detects the cradle or the USB connector to do the installation.

Just to clarify, (and then I'll stop crowding this thread with my ? if no one can help) I know how to upgrade and flash my sx66. The problem is that the data connection pins on the phone itself (so a new cord will not help) are damaged. So doing it connected through the cable/cradle is not an option. What I need is a rom dump from someone with the same phone, or another alternative method of flashing (which I do not believe exists).

i saw many sx66 users having no problem with theirs.

and i think i've read here "somewhere" that you can
but here's a quick rundown

find a suitable (wm2003 for sx66) installer for your country/area
run that program...
then find it's source files...
"e.g. C:\Doc...\admin..\Local Settings\Temp\"
search the folders there for the one with
*.nbf and BaUpgradeUt.exe

copy all files on it to another folder...
close/cancel the program

then in the copied files folder

delete all *.nbf
copy MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe and nk.nbf in that folder (from the WM6_Helmi Package)
then run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe

click next... and cross your fingers for the power not to fluctuate... ;)
unless you're using a bricksaving UPS.

are you connected to the PC?
i know that activesync wakes the phone up when receiving an incoming mail.

havent tried this yet. im using SmartMovie. but be sure to check what resolution it may have been installed with... it may not be a QVGA version.

Yep - the phone turns itself back on whilst running on batteries, plus the screen won't turn off on batteries or whilst synched.

I'm not too fussed about DivX if i can find some other software that plays the films on long flights, i'll look into SmartMovie.

Try to turn it on again to see if it works. If it does not, press Settings / Wireless LAN at the right bottom corner to see if Wireless LAN is off. Press Turn on WLAN. I think it should work. Otherwise, press OK to go back to Comm Manager and Turn on Wifi again.

I solved this problem by that going around thing. I don't know if anyone will change this to one button only later on.

probably same bug as in wm5... after a SR, you usually need to turn on wifi in WLAN settings, but after that you can now turn it on in Comm Manager.

Whilst using bluetooth headphones the screen won't turn off in Media Player or PocketMusic. It flickers white for a second & then flicks back on.

Hello guys! Sorry for may be stupid question, but:
recently upgraded my BA to Helmi Windows Mobile 6 Profesional R0
CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2) with installation of cabs and cabs2.
Trying to put it into "flight mode" but facing strange thing:
indicator on top (antenna) shows "OFF", Comm. manager shows "OFF", HTC Home plugin shows name of GSM provider?? and top-right LED is blinking???
Quite confusing... Does anyone have the same thing or knows what the heck is going on?
Flying quite often and don't want to get into problems with the crew on board.

I've successfully upgraded my XDA IIs to WM6 but I have problem with incoming calls becouse if I have phone in sleep mode (not using) and somebody calls me the ring turns on after 4 signals.

i heard that i may not upgrade my BA rom ext rom and radio at the same time, well, i removed radio rom, and nothing, i removes extrom and nothing, and when the stage 3, rom, starts my device turn off. absolutley off.
i wait till the battery drains, use mtty task 14 0, task 28 55aa, with the same results,
it seems the problem comes with the rom, i tried different roms, also helmi and the updated wm6, and nothing works, my ba keep doing the same thing.
i post a thread, i answer to others and no one anwserd to me, it seems im doing sothing stupid, so i read and nothing.
ive been playing with my ba since i bought a year ago.
i need some help. im desperate. and i can read this is not over.

Don't know if it works with GPSproxy, in fact, i don't know what is GPSproxy :)

This is supposed to be the latest radio ROM available for BA and apparently it solves some issues with previous radio ROMs.

If your radio is working fine, don't see why you should updated it.

But if I understand completely, once you flashed your rom (I suppose this goes all the way up to 100%) the device won't turn on? Or you don't even reach up to the flashing part?

hmm... i think this isnt a problem of the Helmi's ROM itself.

it's the compatibility or bugs of your installed MSN Messenger.

try and search for newer version of MSN Messenger.

If updating didnt start as I notice in your case, you can always start the process again, may be you will have to reboot your pc if device data check screen was still on to kill that app.

I have exactly the same problem as of today. The device worked perfectly for two weeks, suddenly it freezes in the Windows Mobile Splash Screen and doesn't continue from there.

Tried soft and hard reset, no joy.

Try using the keyboard to enter the PIN. It *could* be the screen calibration has just gotten way out of sync.

I got the same problem if I upgrade it in bootloader mode. Have you ever try to upgrade it with regular mode? (just connect the device with PC and run the utility program).

Cab can be created to uninstall .net 2.0 but its CF 2.0 is a part of ROM now so it would get installed again after hard reset. Inshort you need a new ROM.

May be a stupid question but you did do a hard reset after you did the ROM upgrade/install right?

Use Activesync and copy the .cab file directly onto your PPC. Then use (File explorer) on PPC, browse to where the .cab file is, and simply click on it.
This will install the application.

The easiest thing to do with that is to go to Settings -> Connection -> External GPS, set all ports to none and uncheck the Manage Ports Automatically option. This will let you use the same port you choose for the GPS in Bluetooth at your Navigation Software.

Thanks for the replies. But I'm afraid that when I do the above, it doesn't recognise the file type and I just get the "THERE IS NO APPLICATION ASSOCIATED WITH "CABS". Run the application first, then open the file from within the application" error message.

It works with GPS but when I switch on my headset (motorola H350) the GPS connection has broken. Blue light is flashing but there is no GPS signal in my PDA.

I use an MDA III and room ist working fine, except one problem. Every time I push the note (manager) button I got the message "storage card is full" - and it is not. or try to use total commander + wince plugin
you will see the ba like network --> so you dont need card reeder
another thing if u install something and wrong hmm try anouther usb port

You need not uninstall AS to solve a problem, best way is to delete the device from AS so next time when u try to connect, it sets up new properties.

i m facing the same problem with u man! but i manage to upgraded to WM6! how i do it? i m not sure this solution will help u... actually the mail button still work, i go & ask around the o2 repair shop, they taught me this - its the 5 way navigation button problem! just press the south east direction (forgive me if my broken english makes u confuss - i mean in between right & down site of the 5 way navigation button), dun press too hard...& now try to press your mail button... not everytime u have the luck but finally i got it works!

Yes, the informations shows you have done a good upgraded.
But the Radio isn't the newest version, you may upgrade the newest version to v1.15 if you like. here's the link:-

I can not press the message button( above the navi key ). I stuck on the step to clear mem and HIV after flash WM6.

Is it hardware ( oxide on contact of the button and PCB) or it is software issue :(

Please help me.

In case it is oxide that block the activation of message button , can I disassembly and clean it myself? if yes, please suggest.

it can be a hardware problem (i had the same problem)
when this is the cause, you have to open the device and to clean the contacts.

you have to open everithing.
the button contacts are all on a plate.
over the button contacts is a protector.
you have to remove it
than you can clean the buttons and put everything together


is thear any way to get the rom without x buttons or to delate x buttons after installing ???

oh it works awsome. i sold my old sx66 to a co-worker and he let the battery drain and did something to screw it up. well i got it back from him and it working again (wm2003se). so i sat down at my pc and gave this rom a go. follpwed the step by step in the wiki (a must), and now have been using it with no bugs to report. the lack of mms really doesn't bother me sence i hardly ever use mms, also no camera on my sx66. about the only real complaint i have is i wish it had a vga display like my dell axim and my jasjar(both on wm6).

the one thing i need to learn is hom to upgrade the radio rom. i am stuck with a really old version. anybody have a link

hi... I tried to install it, its on the white screen with USB onthe top, but I followed the wiki, and I don't have "HTC USB Sync" just a microsoft usb, it wouldn't take the drivers, saying it had picked the best ones (which were the microsofts default ones) and I tried running the upgrade but it wont detect my phone, and the update. my phone is now on the white screen on the usb cradle still I don't know where to go

“Enable KITL” must be NO
“Clean Registry Hive” must be YES
“Format Storage” must be YES

the power button on xda ii is the button when you turn on the device?or the big joystic in the ppc ?and for once more how the screen looks like when the ppc is in boot mode?also when i put the phone on boot mode can i use the crandle to start the upgrade?or there is a chance for the ppc to restart again?sorry for asking 2 many qs but i cant seem to do it properly enter in boot mode.On my xda exec i did it many times :)
