What you are looking for is a non-backlit screen that says serial.

I just put mine into bootloader and I have Serial at the top and V2.07 at the bottom.

This procedure from this site solved my problem...hehehehehe...but now im not using again this password feature...huhuhuhu my partner can see my mails now hehehehe

Solution:
Format Storage and Hive. (Perform hardreset)Help me with this step

Press Power + Softreset, and when the colored stripes (well, this is the bootscreen :) )shows on the screen.

If you have a PH20B device such as MDAIII, QTEK 9090, XDAIIs, PDA2K etc.


Quickly press Record+Camera before the versions appears at bottom right
OR, press Power+Softreset+Camera+Record at the same time.
If you have a PH20B1 device such as SX66

Quickly press Record+Windows Media before the versions appears at bottom right
OR, press Power+Softreset+Windows Media Player button+Record at the same time.
Either way mentioned above should work.
You'll see three options; change the second and the third to "yes".


If you have a PH20B device such as MDAIII, QTEK 9090, XDAIIs, PDA2K etc.


You can do that with the camera and the record buttons.
If you have a PH20B1 device such as SX66


You can do that with the Windows Media Player and the record buttons.
If you are done, press the mail button, it'll show a white screen for a while, just wait.
If the bootscreen, aka. the colored stripes is displayed, Wait more, you are booting.
The welcome screen to set up your device should appear soon

I can set mp3 as my SMS tone with no problems but when i try to set mp3 as my incoming call tone the problem starts. The sounds and notifications config wont respond if i try to set mp3 as incoming call tone and it wont go off the sound and notifications window either unless i press the Hung Button. It affects the SMS tone too because it keeps on coming back to changing incoming call tone setting if i try to change the SMS tone or press the OK button. I've done soft and Hard resets many times already but these problems keeps on coming back. Also now my BA only accepts WAV as tone.
Do i have to re-flash the WM6?

My I-Mate PDA2k is not working as a PHONE anymore :(
How can I enable phone specifications?

By the way, I can't upgrade Radio 1.15, it's starting but waiting forever...

Is there any solution for them?

I solved that problem by installing Radio 1.1.2 first (from original ROM) and then re-install Radio update 1.1.5... It's all working at the moment..
I think Wi-Fi has a problem, could not connect but may be due to this area...

Hi All,

I just Flashed my BA to Helmis WM6 ^_^

3 issues I noted ..
1. my picture and video browser only shows pictures... videos are not shown
2. for videos that are recorded on my device I am to manually open it with mediaplayer..
3. It takes a noticible longer time to reactivate your phone after u deactivate it (Flight mode).. some times it does not reactivate.. I have to soft reset to enable back my phone
4. When my Bluetooth headset paired and connected.. My PDA screen keeps lighting up even after I pressed the power button (suspend mode).

So far these are the few things I noticed....

The rest are fine.... and my much needed send contact are finally here :D (WM2003SE does not have)

Lastly and no least... Thank you Helmi for this wonderful release!

It is a well known problem man! You should read and you will see that it is a common problem started from the first WM5.
There is no fix for this and maybe will not be :(
You should leave with this or don't use BT.
Btw, there is a much newer ROM from xplode, just go one level up from here and you will see :cool:

Hi! I find the solution to fix the problem with BT. You can try it! It's the nice program http://pointui.com/ .In this program you can make the bluetooth settings for the turn ON automatically when you have a phone call and turn OFF when you it finish. I try it-this work with out the problem+ i have nice interfaice!

firstful i've to thank helmi (and all the other guys who helped developing) for this great and awesome rom !
Yesterday i flashed my MDA3 with "HELMI_BA_WM6" and afterwards i installed the "Helmi_BA_WM6_-_German_Language_Patch_v.1.5."
I'm so happy with my "new" BA :D
But i've still one thing that won't work - whatever I do. My Wlan turns on without any problems, and also finds my router (fritzbox 7141) but it won't connect. Does anyone have a clue, what I'm doing wrong ? I tried almost every possible thing i found out here, but nothing works. Could it be the wlanmgr.exe ? Or is there any file i forgot to move somewhere ?
I am a totally noob in this, so please be graceful. I also have some data rest from the rom, from which i don't know where to put it:
some .xml files like mms_account, mms_folder, windowsupdate and wwe_vista_device_center. Where do i have to put them in ?
And there is also one .cab file that i can't install - the HelmiHomePlug. I always get an error because "...it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate". Am i doing something wrong ?
I would be very happy to get some answers.

This was the very first WM6 release for the BA...there are MUCH newer ones available in the forum...I would recommend you install one of the newer ones...they are much faster and more reliable.

decided to reactivate my old O2 XDAIII (without the camera). Flashed Helmi´s WM6 ROM as described. But I now have the problem that I can not activate the debug screen.

but I can´t activate the debugger screen.

I am stuck at the page with the four colours and a printed R 1.10.00 at the bottom right corner.

Any help would be appreciated.

Same problem. Flashing works fine, but after the hard resett I use the record and mediaplayer buttons but can´t access the debugger mode to set clean registry hive and format storage option.
The xda is still stuck displaying the four colours and the R 1.10.00 printed. :(

Upgraded to the newest radio module 1.15 solved the problem. XDA is starting now.

\HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Obex\IsEnabled, change from 0 to 1,
Check box for Receive all incoming beams in connection settings.

mit einer sauberen rom sollte es auf anhieb funktionieren.

Using MTTY before flashing. It will clear hive. Then flash whatever ROM you want. After flashing, just do the normal hard reset: Power + Reset.

On the top of the Forum, click where it says: XDA-Wiki. Read down the list of phones and chose Blue Angel. It'll tell you all the known compatible phones and the differences among them.

I tried all the things available several times, nothing solved the problem.

Solution:
The problem was the Radio Version (I guess it was 1.10) - with this Radio version you can't reach the last step of the upgrade.

Put your device into USB-Mode, Update Radio to something > R 1.10 and everything works fine with every update.

thank you so much for this rom helmi, i tried yours first then went up to 6.1 but then i couldnt watch a video for more then 20 minutes and then it would seize up, i look everywhere and i found out that it is the amount of RAM used up so i flashed back to this rom and then it worked fine, even with WAD2 running in the background :)

Hi there...I am using this ROM Helmi Windows Mobile 6 Profesional R0 , It's really great but I have one problem, I can't seem to connect to gprs..I tried so many things and read different posts from here and other sites but of no avail..In Internet Explorer it says locating and the gprs logo comes up but it says connection failed..I tried using different versions of Opera mobile&mini but still the same thing..

since that problem is with more than one browser and the g itself doesn't work, it is clear that the problem is not any program but the gprs settings. please post your country and your carrier, then i can probably tell you the settings, alternatively, refer to your carrier's website, they can probably send you the settings via sms

I have just installed Helmi 6.0 ROM, just finished. I noticed from reading the Wiki it says to run something like: MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
I could not find this in th package, so I just ran the one and only .exe file, however this extracted some files into \Temp, and it worked 100%... my advice, unless that file is in your package, do not follow the Wiki instructions on that part... as I have seen ppl going to look for such a file to run BEFORE the contents of the ROM files, this would be why we see so many errors, no?

I dont have a ExtROM as when I followed the Wiki here:

I did the step to expand the Storage, so my Storage Card is not set up like the SAMPLE_CFG.txt file....

So when I install the Extra files from cab1 and cab2.rar's they are not installing...

is there istructions how to setup these ExtROM files? I mean what do I do with these cabs and xml files?

i just answered to your other post, where you have described your problem differently, so ignore that, because apparently it does not fit your problem.
first of all, what would you need the extrom for?
it is just a collection of cab files, if you are missing a certain application, get the cab, install it. the whole resizing the storage thing was about getting rid of the extrom, so that there is no permanent one, meaning, whenever you hard reset and don't have a sd card with an extrom in the device there is no further installation.

so, if you think you must install the extrom (which actually, you absolutely don't), get the extrom, if there even exists a proper one for this rom, i don't see it in the first post, then put it on an sd card, insert that, and hard reset the device. then it would install the extrom automatically, but therefore you lose all the other programs and pim data, just to have a few cabs installed, that you probably already have installed, which brings me back to my original point: the extrom is not important at all, it is just a few cabs and you don't need it

Thanks heaps Chef, i'm starting to get this now.... ok, so I must get everything I want to run (programs/cabs) before running the autorun.exe as I only get 1 shot yea? What happens if I want to add some cabs later on though? do they HAVE to be in the ExtROM folder? can I run the manually as a cab from ExtROM if i choose to add more?

extrom_version.cab just installs a little registry entry that makes the version appear in the device information. it is practicly useless, since you are making up an own extrom anyway. not all applications are good to be put in the extrom. because the extrom, as you can see is just an automated installer for a list of programs and so while installing you can't have any influence on it. but since the blueangel's memory is limited, you might want to install some programs to the storage card. i found that for example games and apps like spb online can consume a lot of storage and therefore do not go in the extrom. other apps not to put in there are apps that need immediate configuration after the installation like tcpmp or fingerkeyboard and so on...

but in general: if you are planning on hard resetting your device regularly, it makes sense to put as many apps and customizations as possible in the extrom.

in my case: i keep up with the newest wm6.5 roms and you see, some apps are only compatible with one special rom version, like office, internet explorer, arcsoft mms...
so, then again, it only pays to put that in the extrom, if you don't change the rom.

as mentioned before, you can also manually install cabs and only if you are sure, you need that app all the time you should put it in there. but yes, you can also add cabs later, as long as you put it in the folder and write the path down in the cfg.txt

awesome, ok one thing i dont get... when we upgraded from 2003SE there is a process to get rid of the ExtROM to make the memory 60.xxMB, so I'v done that.
No we are making our own folder on the SD card named exactly ExtROM again, but it is on the memory card, SO if we are always flashinh ROMs etc, and the ExtRom is on the SD card, how would we loose the apps? cant we just install the cabs directly onto the Storage Card/ or does ExtRom work as it were part of the 'main' memory so cabs that cannot be installed on a SD card, can actually be if in the ExtROM folder.... (hope u get what I mean)

I just dont really see a point, whats to diff from installing these same cabs in the root of the SD or in the folder named ExtRom on the SD card? I guess thats my main question...
if I flashed with the SD card in my device, would it wipre everything BUT the ExtROM folder? (then I could see a use)

Sorry I just dont really get it, I'm used the Wizards for flashing, so i've never erased or messed with a ExtROM.
From wat i see it has been moved from the main device to the SD, (for space), but why we have to duplicate it into the SD has got me beat!.. UNLESS some cabs can only be installed into the ExtRom folder (like tricking apps that usually cannot be installed on the SD). OR the ExtRom folder is not deleted when doing a new flash...

ahh. I;m almost there! lol.... I have a hunch is cos the cabs on pg1 here cannot be installed on the SD (well when I tried they were somewhere, though i couldnt see them (before i had a ExtROM folder)... this is why i re-flashed, i thought i had done something wrong.)

you needed to delete the internal extrom, because it was the wm2003's one, which is useless with wm6 anyways, and on the blueangel, we don't flash the extrom, putting it on the sd card makes it easily customizable while accessing the internal one is slightly harder, as you have experienced, with all the unhiding and unlocking...

the point is: loosing the cabs is not loosing the programs, meaning in the every day use, you don't need the cabs since you have those programs installed. meaning: with the internal extrom you carry the installed programs of, say 18mb + plus the cabs from which they were installed, another 16mb. putting the extrom on the sd card and just using it once you just have those 16mb more storage. why carry the setup files around. like you can run your pc without permanently having an image of your windows dvd on the hard disk, because the installed version is enough and can run without the installer source.

and don't get fooled by the location of the extrom (the sd card). the programs install to the main memory, and after installing, the cabs are deleted. meaning your sd card is practicly empty afterwards (except for autorun.exe, cfg.txt, and whatever else you have on it).

storage-space-wise:
- it means you put like 16mb extrom on the sd card (btw another advantage of the sd card extrom is, there is no real size limit, theoretically you can put up to 60mb there, because then the internal memory would be full)
- then the programs install
- then you "lose" 16mb of internal storage space
- then the cabs are deleted and you "gain" 16mb on the sd card again.

i see why you had problems with that in the first place. it took me long enough to figure it out myself, and i guess since everything is pretty new to you, it might seem theoretical to you, but when you did it once and looked at it run and what it does to your device, it will go click and suddenly everything i wrote here will appear obvious and natural.

(btw, I could not find the Windows/Startup/whateveritwas.lnk to execute the autorun.exe- it was not in there.. weird)... so will hard reset kill my past ExtROM installs? (I thought i'd ask just incase I have to copy ALL of them in to ExtROM again b4 the hard reset.

a hard reset sets your device back to "factory defaults", since while hard resetting, you format your entire storage, your pim data and all the installed programs are gone, so, yes, you have to copy the entire extrom to the sd card again.

about the helmihomeplugin_comp.cab: it's been a while since i had the helmi rom on, but from the name, i'd say, you need to install htc home first and maybe that is a compatibility fix, enabling it to run. i don't know, if you have htc home and if you put it in the extrom, but if so, maybe this fix is to be installed manually or, if htc home works for you already, you might not need to install it at all

I have a Xda III bought from O2 Germany with WM2003SE (in German) installed. I tried to upgrade to WM6 using the HELMI_BA_WM6_R0_.exe file from my Windows XP machine (in English). I have skipped the step of resizing the memory.

The upgrade failed with the following message:
"ERROR 120: COUNTRY ID ERROR 23-23-38-N-N

The ROM image that you are trying to use is not designed to work with your device. Please check the vendor website and download the correct ROM update"

Can anyone please suggest how can I overcome this problem? Thanks!
