Also i noticed some things that perople talk about WM6 roms, they talk about AKU 4.2 in WM6, every self respecting windows mobile user knows how to recognise the AKU version, for example this rom has build 18125.0.4.2 so the AKU is 0.4.2 not 4.2, so it is funny that people talk to me that they have AKU 4 in WM6, even before the release of AKU 1 by microsoft

i´ve testet the wm6 rom and its very fast an stable . But i have a problem to put my xda III in flightmode. After 2 Minutes flightmode stopps automaticly and Phone is on again. Anyone have this bug too?
I have the same Wlan Bug from WM5 that the commanager couldnt start wlan. Only if i startet wlan after reset with the old wlan tool, commanager works. Can someone make a Fix?

I've connected my phone to my computer (It is running WM5 from a previous update), and it's identity is PH20B, However, when i go to do the upgrade, it says it's not for this device.

I have an extended battery (2400 mAh), so you would understand that if it is doing this to an extended battery, I don't even want to imagine what it would do to a regular one (1400 mAh).
Do you think that the fix that you released back for the WM5 would work? (chances are it won't, but it is always worth asking)

These r the bugs i found in COOL NEW WM6

1 battery draining.
2 windows media player not playing files smoothly.
3 contact manager do not allow to select more than one contact.
4 few regional settings missing.
5 Bluetoth is not accepting files from others but sending to them.

I have a couple issues with the WIFI. I will try my best to explain them so someone can understand the particular issue. Over all the ROM is fantastic and by using some of the cabs in the addons and the package by Xplode made the user completely PIMP OUT there mobile to the 2008 and beyond age. The X button is a saviour BTW lol




WIFI issue:

After resetting the phone and trying to connect the WIFI it has trouble accessing the router/access point. I did some checking and i found one of the possible and likely reason why this is happening.

1) After reset Turn on WLAN in the Wireless WLAN settings
2) It says WIFI is available on the home screen but you can't connect.
3) Proceed to click on Menu in the Wireless setting.
4) Click on Network Cards
5) Look down and press the tab on Network Adapters
6) Tap the tiacxwln adapter.
6) There in the IP address box you'll see what appears to be the mac address.
7) Turn off WIFI on the BA and turn it back on again. It works, no reset needed.



I also encountered another problem with the WIFI. When the BA has being disconnected it doesn't notify you on the home screen that its off. I'd check my router a couple times and when i went out of range the wireless light on the router went off but the home screen still says the network name.
Please note for this problem alone i have not change any settings on my router. WM5 would normally display Off on the home screen.

Very fast ROM, but a couple of issues:

- localisations missing (noted by many users)

- I can't get the MMS to work. Yes, I've installed the MMS CAB and XML files (I can see all settings in the registry) from xplode's extrom. krishan2207 also reported the same thing here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1475973#post1475973 (post #5)

In general, this ROM will keep my BA alive for at least another year :) Great work Helmi_c, xplode and all who where involved in building this ROM! Yahooo, we have WM6 on our BA's!!!

ok just to correct some things

1 battery draining. -still dont know the reason but it might be bad drivers or bad battery

2 windows media player not playing files smoothly. - this is really annoying but i just dont use WMP, i use Audio Manager for music and tcpmp for video

I have a problem with the HTC Home plugin.

I cannot get it to display only 3 tabs, not 6.
I have run the HTC Home customizer, and it works for icons, clock etc...but changing the number of tabs doesnt do anything.
I also checked the registry, and it is only set to 3 but 6 still show up. Is there any way to change this?

Ok, I've got one. I'm apparently an idiot as I can't figure this one out.

I backed up the ROM (Helmi WM5 AUK 3.5)

I made sure activesync 4.5 did it's thing

I upgraded

I marveled and was amazed at the speed difference!

I tried to sync and ran into problems

My original device name is still in activesync, and I have named my angel the same as it was before (settings, about, device id).

Now, when I plug it into the computer, activesync sees it, and renames it to WM_jdc, then proceeds to make a new profile.

What am I missing?

EDIT: NM, I got it. Had to delete the old active"stink" mobile device entry and re-associate it. Damn, I hate that program. :-)

ThanksThe d-pad would be the directional pad, the roundish square thing with the button in the middle.

However, that is not how one picks those menu options.

I've been playing with my fresh install of the ROM for the past few hours and all I can say is WOW!

This ROM is FAST. Everything I've run on it has been faster (Avantgo runs like a champ)!

The wireless associates and authenticates to my AP much faster than WM5, PIE loads quicker... I can't say enough of just how impressed and grateful that this ROM was built and released!

It's almost like a new device!

I hope that you continue to work on and release these smashing ROMs!

I already installed the ROM, n it's working great!
But, theres minor problem that I believe haven't posted yet.

When I create appointment from calender, it's always said that database is deleted or corrupted, and need to restore from back up again.
I don't know if this problem is because I restore PIM from my WM5 backup (SPB backup) before. I haven't try to hard reset and create appointment again. Maybe, there's someone have the same problem with me.

In earlier posted on this thread, I read about HTC home configuration. But I have'nt find that menu yet. Where is the HTC home configuration.

And finally, I'm happy to met Helmi and talk about his new ROM at XOJ gathering yesterday. You rulez, Bro!

My wireless router was set as WPA-PSK Authentication method, but when I turn on wifi, BA found the wireless network, after I inputted the password, the wifi status always display "connecting"

So, I had to setup parameter manually at "network card" page to connecting wireless.

I guess maybe there are something wrong at wifi drivers.:(

Yes there is a lil problem

the fast and easy solution is whan you turn on wifi, it will find your network, then input your password, it will try to connect but it wont. Then turn off wifi and turn it on again and it will connect

i think there is something with the wifi driver

i use this one, install the htchome.cab, and then copy the files from WM5 folder to \windows for WM5 and from WM6 folder to \windows for WM6

I'm experiencing a loading problem on startup with your home plugin. It freezes and takes about 2 mins after the BA has been reset before it responds. I should also note that i have installed the plugin on the main memory and not the card. I believe the install was about 2MB?

you'll probably experience the same thing when you try to add contacts. you need to perform a hard reset and choose the no/yes/yes option.

I read in another post that someone was gonna try to make the page pool = 0. Does this make any sense at all?
I was going to take it to 32 MB (just for the hell of it) and see what that does. Although the 16 MB version is fast enough.

BTW. I did a few soft resets to the device and the battery drain seemed to slow down quite a bit, I will have to monitor a little more often though.

I was just wondering if there was going to be a Rom Kitchen released for us to cook our own Rom? I have been looking for a way to install HTC TouchFlo, but have found out that the only way to install it is by cooking it into your rom. There is no way a cab file can be created because many rom files have to be replaced by TouchFlo. If there is not going to be a kitchen released, then if it is not to hard to do I was wondering if you, Helmi, Xplode, etc. would be able to cook a rom with TouchFlo. this is actually normal, and would require modification to the rom i believe to change it, personally i alraedy found boot up a bit slow, and occasionally a slow down but i think that maybe how the BA is handling the rom and will be ironed out in future versions and tweaks hehehe

Ok, I have tested the WM6. Overall not too bad. Loading is so much faster and not to mention the outlooks is really cool. I really love BA. At least better than the WM5 somehow. And also I found that there's some bug is it just me or everyone else ?

1) Wireless LAN (when clicking it in Communication Manager) it doesn't work
2) Contacts (can't select multiple contacts) ((well known bug))

Regarding the Wireless LAN, is it something to do with my radio version ? Mine is v1.15. I even followed the exact instructions as in the WIKI, but still the wireless LAN I have to turn it on manually from the Wireless LAN settings instead of communication manager.

I had that problem even in previous WM5 upgrades. And funny thing is that the 4 buttons right below the screen doesn't work, no matter how I hard reset or soft reset it or even reflashing with different ROMS.

1) It is a well known issue. If you don't want this to happen, leave WiFi turned on before resseting your device.

Regarding not working buttons, that should be a hardware related issue. Check if all cables inside are connected properly.

I cannot connect to DUN via bluetooth ?! I used to dial *99# to access the internet from my laptop but seems it isnt working now all i get is modem did not respond. however when i Query the bluetooth modem it seems everything is correct and responding.

This rom is great helmi, but how did you port it to so many devices all at once? What was the massive breakthrough that you made to port the same rom to THREE devices?

Oh, and also does it require that the device has had a WM5 ROM, or is it possible that it may be ported to the Wallaby, Magician, Harrier and Alpine, the few remaining devices on xda devs not to have WM6.. i believe? (EDIT: And Hariier?)

Tried your ROM since friday, and it's "The Business", you guys are magnificent.

@the person who had trouble with WMP: I had the same problem:

ok just to correct some things

1 battery draining. -still dont know the reason but it might be bad drivers or bad battery

2 windows media player not playing files smoothly. - this is really annoying but i just dont use WMP, i use Audio Manager for music and tcpmp for video

3 contact manager do not allow to select more than one contact. - havent tryed that

4 few regional settings missing. - i work on it ... but without any success at this moment

5 Bluetoth is not accepting files from others but sending to them. - Bluetooth accept and send everything , you just must enable beam in order to use OBEX, and your device must be set as visible to the other devices

6 Some sound files are not working even after installing the patch. - the sound patch is for other sound related problems, please be more specific about the unplayable formats

I read Xplode's reply and also started using Audio Manager: Since then no more problems;
My BA now plays music with clear sound and without hiccups. Also the music now streams flawlessly to my Bluetooth car stereo. There are (not even always, half the time it just works instantly) some pops and stops for the first few minutes, but after that the two devices make beautiful music together.

Audio Manager by the way has an excellent design and is easy to work with.

Only advantage to WMP is how it's fully integrated into WM6 (and that WMP plays video). But I'm sure somewhere in this forum or in the Wiki I'll figure out how to make Audio Manager the default audio player. I know that the advanced settings of file explorer let's you choose which programs to use with which file extensions. (haven't tried it yet)

So far I have not noticed any battery usage issues as compared to WM 2003. Last recharge was 14hrs ago. Since then my BA has been with WiFi on for about an hour, on phone standby for 9 or 10 hrs and has been streaming Bluetooth audio with backlight on for about 2 hrs. The indicator is now on 46%

Also I have no problems with Bluetooth, (except for the sending/receiving files mentioned above in the quote. Haven't tried Xplode's solution yet). Other than that no problems, for instance with sharing my BA's contact list, or the received calls /recently dialled/ list, etc, with my car stereo.

My two problems thus far:
1. After removing the battery, my clock/date somehow resets to factory setting 12:00hrs on sept 1st 2004 :confused:

2. WM6 won't let me install Helmi HomePlug_Comp.cab Due to an "not signed with trusted certificate" error. Since Friday I trust Helmi with my life, so who cares :mad: But then again, I don't know what the program is for So I don't know what I'm missing :o

I'll be scouting the forum and Wiki for the answers

Thank you. The GSM poroblem is solved. I installed WM2003 once agin, after that deleted all possible to delete files and installed WM6. ActiveSync partially works - activesync synchronyzes everything, but I can not access to the mobile device files through explorer. No error messages, just emnpty MobileDevice Folder in My Computer. No files inside. With 2003 and WM 5 everything was fine. The OS is WinXP Pro

It even connects to GPRS and I get that sending icon at the top, HOWEVER the status stays at 0% and it stops sending....

And for such a problem, it only happens when I install WM5 and WM6 but when I flash it back to the official AKU 1.4.0, I never had such problems. Unless you can enlighten me in this matter.:eek:

Small problem:

I use a dialer skin from Buzzdev: Virgy DeepOcean Dialer for WM5 QVGA. In WM5, the left softkey used to be contacts, in WM6, it has changed to hide keypad. Has anybody else seen this and does anybody have a fix?

There was a file from Helmi with name HOME6.zip (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=48893&d=1188655291) in this thread (see post #167 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1477275&postcount=167)), I used that one and do not have any problem with it.

1 Minor bug:
With WM6, the Button7 always revert back to WMPlayer after soft-reset, will be great if it stays the key I mapped it to (I used it for Voice command 1.6)

Also, another issue I am having with HTC Home 6 - Xplodes is that it cannot find a server to update weather. I dont know whether it is server issue or it is not looking at the right server to update, but definitely not my gprs since I can use PIE to surf the net.

I actually managed to get it working now. Just like what you said before, it is actually settings problem. What I did wrong was the domain under connection settings supposed to be empty - (I know... stupid me).

Anyway, thanks a lot for your help on this, now I can get my mms working again. This forum is the best ...

I tried to upgrade from the rar in the upgrade wizard but the upgrade utility did nothing, it ran,upgraded for 30 secs then said all was well. with no device update. i am guessing it might be the rar? ar maybe me?
