Using xplode's cabs as the extended rom

I hope this can help some of you.

To use xplode's cabs as the extended rom first you need to create a folder on your SD card named ExtROM

Then you need to extract all files from the cabs.rar to this folder (ExtROM on your SD card). You will need winrar or 7zip to extract the files.

Now go to ExtROM folder and rename the file SAMPLE_CFG.TXT to CFG.TXT. You can edit this file to customize it to your needs.

The final part is to download this file: extromtools.rar (ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/BlueAngel/BA_WM5/Shipped_Extracted_Updates/xplode/extromtools.rar) and extract the file autorun.exe and OemExtDll.dll to the ExtROM folder on your SD card.

Now you need to hardreset your device or simply execute CheckAutorun.exe which is located on your windows folder.

Execution of the Extended ROM

* CheckAutorun.exe (which is started from \Windows\Startup\CheckAutorun.lnk) executes the AutoRun.exe
* AutoRun.exe is found in the \Extended_Rom Folder
* AutoRun.exe reads the \Extended_Rom\Config.txt and executes the commnands in that file
* The pointer for AutoRun.exe HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\AutoRun is set to \Extended_ROM\AutoRun
* The pointer for Config.txt HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\AutoRunCFG is set to \Extended_ROM\AutoRunCFG
* The Touch screen is disabled by the first command (TPDisable.exe)in the Config.txt
* The Touch screen is enabled by the 2nd to last command (TPEnable.exe)in the Config.txt
* The last Command of the config.txt (RST) performs a soft reset


FOR PEOPLE WITH THE MMS PROBLEM:

xplode has created new cab files that include the xml and make the instalation a breeze.
ArcsoftMMS4.2.8.1.cab - updated cab for Arcsoft MMS Composer - one of the xmls is included in it
MMS_enable.cab - enable MMS in messaging
WU_enable.cab - enable windows update connectivity
WMDC.cab - adds T-Mobile UK support link in Windows Mobile Device Center in Windows Vista, adds high res icon for Blueangel, Changes Manifacturer and Model properties to T-Mobile MDAIII

I hv installed xPlode package but I can't see the MMS setting and account in Pocket Outlook. Can I solve this problem?

now i have in my blueangel create a ExtROM with your cabs.

what i have to do before reinstall the Helmi rom's.
i have to cancel or format the extrom???

There is no need to reflash the WM6 just because of ExtROM!
You didn't understand it and thus making your life harder.

If you want to have clean system - you can perform hardreset and delete storage and hive (registry).

You can install the cabs just by clicking on them!

I installed the new cabs from CABS2.rar and i still dont have MMS.
The other 2 work (windows update and the other.)
Should it be run in the extended rom or they can be executed one by one?

I can't install the .cab files despite doing the ones mentioned above. There was a prompt which says it is installing the files even after a hard reset but the .cab files seems not be installed. I can't find them in my BA. like for example i am trying to open a powerpoint file but it won't open.

Everything is ok. After hard reset my cabs are installing itself, but in Messaging there isn't a MMS account.

I solved this problem, I reinstall by hand MMS_enable, and the MMS acount apper.

Hope this thing help someone, who don't do this yet.

Could you please help as MMS is not working
There is MMS setting account in Pocket Outlook
I am using the Cab2.rar files.
The MMs server have been set as per phone operator settings.
Outlook MMS is sending but is stuck at 0% then it stops.
What I have noticed these files CheckFile.exe,Platformxxx.reg & CM_Entries.xml
from MMS Enable are not found in the windows directory.
The latest Rom 6.00.00 is really great only baclight problem but is just minor
