@fracoon and all;

- is running very stable and faaasssttt, like you said!
- pitty, still no speed dial on dialing pad, (just cant find it on the forum to install it later, any chance you could point me the way?
- running the new radio version 02.07.90,( because there "is NO GSM included in my rom... so if you have updated your GSM before .. it stays after the rom update!") been using it with b&b v4.1 from update thread and can say major energy improvement!
- nice to have the little apps i often use integrated.
- no htc x button!
- no unzip-function
- no batterystatus

- no bugs upto now, aapart from missing speed-dialer:)

greetz, keep up the good work
thormdac

I have customized it to my liking, battery status, x button, pool size 10 mb, home to black grey colous again, radio schedule....

and upto now this is the FASTEST rom i have used !!!!

Installed and running well.
A very nice ROM, nice and quick on it's own, no need for overclocking, so no Batterystatus, yay, I don't like/trust that app.
A great bed for self-customising, I did have to reload HTC Home to get it to work with the HTC Home Customizer app. Nice to get away from miserable black grey themes.
I don't use speed dialler, so that doesn’t bother me, although again I ended up sticking one of PaulyA.com's Vista diallers on anyway.
I like Pbar as a replacement to X-Button that everyone else uses.

The inclusion of PocketRAR into ROM would be a good move, noone can complain against that.
Also the SyncroTime included in others ROM is a nice addition you might want to consider.

Cube I don't miss, like others I see it as a nice gimmick, but ultimately useless. Touchflo, hmmm, I can take or leave, I guess it's sort of useful, but again it's absence here, isn't killing me.

Good not to have too many applications, I use Resco explorer, so not having another File manager or registry editor makes sense to me.

All in all a very positive experience so far. You and Meschle are definitely in the lead for ROM's for the Artemis. Meschle offers nicer complete packages, but you offer a fantastic foundation for those who like to get their hands dirty and have more control over their devices.

@gajet, i fully agree!

@all,

still hunting my dialer i have come across this:jambaj0e_Touch_dialer.cab (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=49151&stc=1&d=1188844243)

pity though it seems to just overwrite orig fields, leaving the problem as can be seen in photo.

any remedies for that? can i uninstall orig dialer fisrt, then install wanted one? howto, please!

The problem with a lot of these new ROMS is that they have too many bits that I don't really need...

I'm a busines user, so my home page needs to display my calendar and my mails - the HTC home plug takes too much space up...

This is a fabulous ROM - fast, clean. All I've needed to do is stick on TodayAgenda and TomTom.
Pbar is a huge advance on Xbutton.

I'll probably stick on Paulya.com's BlackGlass grey dialler- by far the nicest around.

I've been looking for a better contact manager or speed dialer for in-car use... I'm currently trying PMcontact, but it's still not quite what I'm looking for, so if anyone has any suggestions for a good finger-usable contact picker or speed dialer, let me know!
Also, has anyone got any enhanced email/messaging today plugins, maybe similar to TodayAgenda? I don't want little icons, but mail subject previews or something...

Installed beta 2 rom yesterday.
Few things:

*network wizard keeps bugging me after each softreset, if i say no it goes away, if i say yes it says it doesn't know my operator(LMT). Anywayz, it should not do that more than once, but it just keeps poping up after each reset.

*went into fight mode and was unable to reactivate phone module, only soft reset helped. This could be a carier thing tho, but i am realy no expert in this.

*i would realy like battery status instead of pbar, because they basicaly do the same thing(close apps), but with battstatus u can also overcloak and see cpu activity at a glance - i especialy like version which is in BB4.1 - u can dissable everything that battstatus shows on today screen and just leave it showing cpu mhz and activity in top bar with tiny numbers.

*1calc-lite also would be better than build in calc, cus it has additional currency/weight/speed/etc convertor in it too - not a big deal, but sometimes it is handy.

Speed is good, tho i haven't installed any apps except battstatus. Media player on today screen works. I gues that is it, no much extras in this one, but thats not bad at all.

I definitely like key pad with these big buttons - realy easy to dial when u r on a street or in a direct sun light and need to make call fast.
*Tho i didnt manage to turn key sound off. )=

Thanks.

Please never do this BatteryStatus decreases stability and is unecessary. No overclocking is required with this ROM. People want it, let them install it.

*1calc-lite also would be better than build in calc, cus it has additional currency/weight/speed/etc convertor in it too - not a big deal, but sometimes it is handy.

I can agree with this, the default calculator is a bit sparse and ugly.

Because it's not needed, you may want it, but that isn't the same thing. Your "why not underclock arguement", just makes you look pathetic, are you trying to goad me?
The fact that the OS runs at a reasonable speed with this ROM, is in no way the same as saying it needs to be slowed down.
If you want batterystatus, noone is stopping you, some of us don't.

Nah, dont get me wrong - I was not mocking anyone or demanding anything, just thinking out loud. I mean - why not make fast rom lightning fast, but thats just me.

Actualy as i compare multiple roms they all seem quite fast until i start testing some apps on em installing whatever looks interesting.

Good, fast ROM and even did work with Feiertage from www.Baerswelt.de
(obviously using .net framework 2.0 heavily) when O2 Premium Plus did not.

But now I ran into a problem with this ROM again (seems to be my fate).
The weather plugin from HTC Home does not load the weather for
munich even though I can load up www.accuweather.com.

Any help appreciated,

@all, dear fracoon,
having compared this rom thoroughly to all the others, there is one thing that impresses me the most about your rom: its SPEED !!! - nothing compares to that.

this, in addition to absolute stability, no memory issues, leanness yet functional with everything mostly needed, makes me go for you again!:)

many thanx,
keep up the good work.

p.s.: one wish- give me that dialer with speeddial-button, pls.!

Very good ROM, still testing, discovered a problem with buble breaker, however this is by far the fastest ROM out there. Include a few more essential apps and this would be the best out there. Combine the speed of this ROM with Mechle's and you would have the perfect ROM [Why don't you combine your efforts :D :D ]

Speed fantastic.....

HTC Customizer did not work...made no changes...had to copy the files manually into the folders then they did...

pBar - does it really close..? even after closing sometimes I see the apps open at the background...

Notes & Rec....doesnt work....

some critical apps missing...which means longer setup time...psshutxp, Total Commander, OXIOS Hibernate...these are free and daily use - should be included into the ROM - IMHO

some freaky situations :

hen I softreset - sometimes - the network and storage card does'nt pick up - have to soft reset again....till they do..

One time I went into system/today to change calender options and exit - thereafter everytime I went into the Today option - it went straight into that page ! Has'nt hapened again...will wait and see...

will do some more tests and get back...

Frankly speaking...I think its a matter of preference...

if 28~38k is big...some want Windows Live and can get assurance for it...here size did not matter...I never did find it important enough to have a fancy cube or flashy messenger...am more of a performance fanatic and business apps user.

anyway - its your ROM - no pressure...

will install from CAB as I was doing anyway...

Thank you for your help, biranouran... Everything worked fine...

A word of caution to those running the USPL process in front of the rom load. Do not run "ROMUpdateUtility.exe" from the USPL package, which crashed when I tried it. Run instead "start_uspl.exe". This opens a DOS windows and runs initialization, and only then it loads the USPL rom.

Only after you run USPL should you load the 2.1 rom.

i will not add those apps in the future... i think it is not too much to store the cabs of these apps on yout storagecard and install them after flashing... so everyone can install the apps they want...

After reading this thread, I am itching to test your ROM. I would agree with a couple of people who ask for a bare-bones ROM. We can each then add our favourite task managers or any other utilities. I have found updating versions of some apps bundled with the ROM a bit problematic.

- pitty, still no speed dial on dialing pad, (just cant find it on the forum to install it later, any chance you could point me the way?

Thormdac, if you are still looking for a speed dial button and smart dialing on your phone pad, I was exactly in your situation. While I don't know if they work on Thormdac's ROM, I used Jimm98s vista dialer (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=31603&d=1164495042), which in order to work with WM6 would also need his patched smartdialing 2.5 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=322943) installed afterwards. Remember to install both. I don't know if this is Jimm98s' official way of fixing it, it works for me. This is a vista style phone pad with shiny buttons.

I am actually using at the moment DAD Touch SmartDial 25_24516 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=46280&d=1186424362) which you may also want to consider. This uses the HTC Touch style flat black buttons. The Vista shiny style tends to get on my nerves.

I hope this helps.

Just flashed 2.1.. OH MY GOD, it's a screamer - so fast even after all my pimbackups restored and apps installed, everything that was hanging in 2.0 is now working so fast! Gona keep testing for few days still tho.
But looks like a winner atm.:D

One strange feature i have noticed in 2.1 release(it was in 2.0 also i think):
as i select apps to be shown on start menu(settings>menus) shortcuts to them disapear from programms folder(and subfolders for that matter).
Tested QuickGPS too - working like a charm even over gprs, which was not the case with 2.0.

Just reporting.

Hi, Fracoon. my 2 cents, if this rom have touchflo (not cube) support that enable people to scroll up/down freely with their figure without having to use stylus to touch the srollbar. it would be more popular. I believe people not only me miss touchflo feature while they want a stable rom as this one at the same time.

This looks like a lovely clean rom.

Why does everyone say "Oh you must install this and that". Install it yourself! What about the people who dont want those apps. I dont want HTC Home, it actually slows things down and takes precious home page real estate away.

What rom is this based on? I am after a nice clean rom with nothing added. Jus the default stuff but the latest rom and hopefully with office 2007.

I can add the stuff I want but if its built into rom then there is nothing I can do about it.

Thanks

does anyone know if audio manager stops music when the phone is in standby mode ?
It's known as a bug in other release but I found this feature very usefull :)

I use french release from Aje (1.5) and I can "shut off" my PDA when listening to music with headphones. It works only with audio manager, not Media Player.

Thanks

Congratulations for this EXCELLENT Rom. I´ve a single problem. All my phone numbers are in international format (+123 123456789 ) and if comes a nacional call (without de +123) it don´t show the name of the person, just the number. If it´s a international call works well. I´ve already managed in regional settings...but nothing.. Can anybody give an idea how to get a solution for this? Thanks

Mmm, I don't have that problem. For example (being Dutch), I can notate a national number as 0612345678 (in Holland telephone numbers should have 10 digits) or as +31612345678 in international format (31 is the country code of the Netherlands). So I suspect you are not entering the right number or your provider does not support two different notations.

No, my phone numbers are sincronized with Outlook. I´m in ORANGE MALI at the moment. I´ve tried almost all the cooked ROMS and the problem is the same. Now, I reverted to my WM5 Original ROM with exactly the same contacts and works perfect, both in national MALI numbers and International numbers. It shows in all the contacts their name. And as i travel between countries my numbers must be in international format. And i´m not going to change 1675 contacts... If anybody has a solution for this i will apreciate very much. Thanks
