WM6 ROM cooked using AKU4.2 is finally out for testing. It uses 24MB of pagepool and the RAMDisk is 40MB. It is Compiled on Base works pioneered by Helmi_C. It is dedicated to Tofclock the great.I am quite happy with the speed of this ROM. With this the memory structure becomes as follows:--

It's awesome. But what about Helmi's WM6 Rom. We have been waiting for 2 days for his Rom but it's not out yet. So, is this the same or some modified version of Hemi. I'm just curious about this. Did not pick any other problems with it. Installed apps, sms working fine.
Even the SD wifi card driver, so i can download emails and use internet!

The green and red buttons works fine, also camera and record.

By giving you all the WM6 to try and feel. Is it betrayal??? Then all the ROMs being cooked/used by any or all of us are a piece of betrayal because the fucking M$ has all the objections to them all.

As far as device being unstable with the RAMDisk--it is completely untrue. I am using it fon my device now for almost a week. Absolutely no proble. Try yourself and see....

main problems are listed on the first post. It is better you use your ability to try solving them instead of wasting time in nonproductive dialogues.

c_shekhar I think the point is this:

1. Helmi gave you this ROM with the understanding that you were to use it only to help solve the issues remaining with it.

2. You released it despite his telling you not to. If you wanted the community-at-large to help with the troubleshooting you should have checked with helmi first to make sure that was OK.

3. This is 100% helmi's work. For you to release before him and steal his thunder was a very rude thing to do. This was helmi's ROM to release, not yours.

I have tried several WM5, and what i really apreciated from Tof's ROM was the simplicity :
- Usual MS boot screen
- Usual Icons
- No personal picture and background image
- No fency applications

The Tof's ROMs from WM3, WM3se, WM5 were functional and clean for user's freedom to choose and install their best applications.
That is why i mostly apreciate his work.
Please my wish for him is to make it as well, clean and functional.

What i can tell is that, as working in the mobile industry, to succeed in a projects, developpers, integrators have to work all together for beta testers, and final users.

in our case we see only gprs problems.

once more about localization(regional setting).
there are a couple of programs that use regional setting to read the freeware status (Xguru for example). I`m wanted to use this soft after flashing wm6.
as far as i understand missed loc was deleted to save some space.
Is the any possibility to replace, for example, German loc to Russian ?

C_shekar`s maybe it`s funny, but I`ve already hasn`t any problem with Helmi`s rom (ROM you have been posted) and back-light

as I told there was not any link between batt and gprs.
Maybe ram-disk makes some bad things ?

The difference is not visually noticeable (except for the improved GUI). You can look at microsoft.com and see the technical differences... wm5 vs wm6

For people who have failed to enter the registry key, just try more than once by pressing DONE DONE then EXIT, because some times the values are not saved in the registry when you restart.

You need to switch the device off, wait a couple of seconds for the registry settings to be updated and then softreset the device.
If you do it straight away the settings may not be saved.

in the program menu click the system and there you shall find the DFRegEdit.....use it to modify the registry. Dont forget to ensure the correct spelling and the correct case, exactly as suggested by the fixer above...c_shekhar

Thanks so much for your great job. It runs very fast and stable (even after 1day using only) but can you pls let me know when you can fix all these things:
- Battery status
- Word auto completion
- Speaker phone not show on dialpad (not convenient to open menu to activate this function)
- Speed dial button not show on dial pad
- Message option: whenever open the message device asks for email or SMS account all the time. Very inconvenient.

My advice is to wait a bit more - this rom is still unfinished. When it will be ready - just make a backup (PPCPIMBackup app is the best IMHO), flash and format your hive, that's it :D

For mid section (today) above: Start->Settings->Today-Items-> uncheck items you don't want.
For lower section (icon tray): tap on icon with red arrow (PHM tray), uncheck enable
For pcShutXP: tap on red icon, uncheck create shortcut

Disable the Power Battery Icon at system tray:

just a suggestion, maybe our masters working on this can post what they have done already as far as tests go, so that other developers can avoid going to the same route only to fail in the end, and also so that they can continue looking for other avenues to take to solve the GPRS issue.

with many working on it, i'm positive, we can get an answer to this riddle very soon...

I have only found missing registry entries in NETCF. I wonder if by using NETCF1 instead of NETCF2 has caused this problem. The telephony GAC file might be dependent on it.

I have introduced missing registry entries from NETCF1 token... but still the same.

I think I need to reflash a different telephony GAC file.

hey yamskie would you please share with us here that how are you able to sync your Himalaya WM6 using cradle with Windows Vista?? I cant seem to be able to do it? My problem is that whenever I ever connect it, Vista fails to install a proper driver for it. Any help on this matter would be appreciated. Thanks

ok guys I finally got it working.. i mean i have successfully synced by phone using cradle with Windows Vista. I dont know what different i did this time.. but when plugged the usb in slot#1.. Vista installed it and I synced it successfully. Now i hope GPRS and Bluetooth syncing problem is still left.

it is fast, yet I have noticed a minor bug. as follows
when you get a call, neither the Caller number nor the Caller Name are displayed. I hope you gentlemen can solve it soon.

The Dialer is great, and the battery patch is working fine also.
The ClearVue PDF did not open a PDF file, yet the acrobat reader did open it.

Thank you for your reply, well. I have tried to set a new number (not in the contact list) and the same happened. yet when you check the call History, you find it correctly listed, both the name and the number. the only thing that does not appear is when you get a call, you get a pop-up showing the caller ID and Number.. in that pop-up nothing appears.
I have attached 3 photos to show you what is happing. on is for the desktop to show you what kind of programs I have installed.. maybe one of them had caused that.

Did anyone get the GRPS sorted on this ROM?
I downloaded Helmo AKU 7 but its unstable on my device, after i added a few programs.

This ROM is more stable on my device, and faster. But no GPRS.

Im not sure if there is any problems with my device.

GPRS on this ROM will not get solved, it's another kernel.
AKU0.7.0 is very stable for me... and I've put really heavy soft on it.

I found out what went wrong and caused the Caller ID and Number not to appear.
The program is : Mobile Suite from SPB. unitaslled it. and every thing is OK.
both caller ID and number are shown.

I'm a noob myself, just active in this forum for a few weeks. Still studying lots of subjects, still having a head full of question marks and lot less answers. The more I read here, the better I know how to search this forum, using insider nicks in my searches, using the names of tools (which noob starts searching for "kitchen", "DOCtool" and so on?). But still it is for me a daytime job (no pay ;-(
to find the information I'm looking for in the tremendous amount of posts here. As far as I know there is nobody out here that creates a nice organised list of important posts. The Wiki is a nice start, but still holds no more than 1% of the available information. And even when either the Wiki or a search sends you to the right thread, it's likely that that thread has more than a few dozen posts.

So PLEASE do not ignore noobs, do not blame them too much for asking noob questions. If you got the answer it's IMHO better for your heart and for the atmosphere to just copy and paste the URL of a previous answer than to type a "use search" or "use Google" type of answer.

In such cases it's still best to give a helpful answer. If you can't, take a deep breath, ignore that post and hope that someone else does.
