btw, I do not trust these supposed "rebased" drivers coming from china, I think the last 2 times I have seen this, they were just MODULES>FILES with recmod. Would be interesting to see this...
oh and for future reference, IT ISNT A NEW KERNEL!!! WE WILL NEVER SEE A NEW KERNEL!! ARGH!.....Thats better

zzfeed already ported the ROM and rebased the driver, the only problem is the MUI that he used is incompatible with newer WM6 builds.
I don't suspect anybody, I am neutral on this...

Whatever it is truly rebased or not, I think zzfeed WILL NEVER release the original rebased ROM that is in English (I can say that Chinese people is selfish. I am also a Chinese but this is the truth). So continue your great work, Whiterat!

i mean, what advantages new os versions have with same old drivers?
more black Touch soft?

I guess the idea is that something will be better (speed/bugs). When making software, the new builds are not made just to have new builds... There are fixes/improvements.
Unfortunately Microsoft does not bother with informing about changes (unless it is areally significant new feature/important bug fix), so it is hard to say.
On the internet there is a list of changes in various versions of WM 5 (though even that is just a list of major changes). It would be nice to have this or even more for WM6 (but if Microsoft does not tell, it is difficult).

nothin:
I dont mess with the touch stuff other than in my own personal roms and the WRCX ones. I dont much care for messing with that stuff, I enjoy porting roms so that is what I do.
It fixes many bugs (aswell as creating new ones) so it really is swings and roundabouts.
I think AKU1 is much much quicker, and also has domain support including managed software rollouts from Active Directory (In server 2008).
Very Cool.

To whiterat:
1) Why, compared with the previous version, has the AKU1 a lower version number and a higher build number (5.2.0886 < 5.2.1908 BUT 19012 > 18508)?
2) When will we be able to enjoy AKU1?
3) What the h**l is this 'rebase operation' after all? Could you pls clarify me a bit: XIP, rebasing, porting and so on? It would help me better understand your work! Thanks

hey. i wrote them, but they dont have some wm5/6 specific info. they are about ce3 and ce4.
i'm planning to update them with wm5 info! but most of it applies to wm5/6. except that wm5/wm6 has relocation tables (compressed), so it is easier to work with it :)
they need updating anyway....with some more extra info.
oh, and about the romtools one, the tools in there are only for xip OS editing, not the wm5/6 xip kernel sections. but the description about the xip in general is mostly valid for wm5/wm6.
any questions just ask, i can make parts more clear. :)

it isnt "several seconds" unless you write an app that makes all of it automatic. i do NOT mean rebasing only one dll but the whole thing - there are already apps for doing 1 module, and using it it does take only some seconds of course, for ONE dll. then, writing the other app isnt "several seconds" either :P
i dont know why you had to write this post anyway, is it helping anyone?!

At this moment there are only very few Cooks who truely port ROMs, rebases modules, port their own XIP, and thus making GOOD roms instead of ripping other people's imgfs ..
So stop flaming at the rare one that does it, he has proven himself over and over in the past.
