I just made a new customized rom for my HTC Touch and wanna share my work with xda-developer's fans. I ported this rom from Hermes new build 18125 and use XIP from PDAVIET's rom (v1.15.707.03).

what I did to this rom...
1. CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2) with BigStorage & 4mb Pagepool.
2. Removed HTC Ringtones, Pictures, Videos and Theme files to save storage space.
3. New HTC Touch Commanager with 10 buttons (Fixed and working)
4. MMS Composer NEW Version 4.2.8.1 (Seperated folder for SMS and MMS)
5. HTC Task Manager NEW Version 1.51 (Build 30470)
6. HTC Network Wizard NEW Version 1.0 (Build 29982.1.0.2.2)
7. Office 2007 (include OneNoteMobile)
8. Windows Media Player with HTC Touch Skin (can go back to original skin)
9. Accesiories folder (GSFinder, Hibernate, Pocket RAR, PPCPimBackup, psShutXP, RegEdit, SynchroTime, Task Manager, WM5Storage)
10. Black Keyboad Skin
11. Removed Windows Update

Just flashed this ROM and it looks great. One little problem i'm having is with the weather app though. When I click on it from the HTC Today screen I can choose my city, but then nothing happens. It displays my city, but doesn't update the weather. I have checked that all my connection settings are correct (which they are) not sure if I need to enable a setting or this is a problem on this ROM.

Other than that I do LOVE this ROM. Good work.

Edit: Nvm figured it out. Simply required a soft reset. Once again...good job.

Just to be 100% sure: how can you check if a device is CID unlocked? Simply by looking at the versionnumbers in the bootloader screen? If so, mine are:

strange, I'm getting only 8 tabs in comm manager instead of 10... no internet sharing/beam options... I'll reflash it to see if that fixes the problem...

Ok I loaded it and it seems to run really well. I only display the usual 6 icons instead of the 10 icons his pics displayed. However I like all the extra features he built into this rom. Nice job. Would like to know how to get the 10 icon cube tho...any ideas?

I'm having the same problem. Everytime I reset I get the Network Wizard notification. Is there a setting to disable this? Other than that i haven't had any real problems so far. Great ROM

had to revert back to my old ROM. was having issues with my phone disabling and phone needed rebooted frequently to get data working again. also took 20 min to reboot phone. Too bad cause I loved the features of this ROM and I loved all the extra storage.:(


found the issue with long reboots. this was due to citrix client being in the start up folder. after I removed the 2 citrix files from that folder it boots up alot quicker. So I reloaded this rom again and trying it again. Hopefully all goes well.

Never mind.. The problem is the shortcut points to D:/Program Files but the program file is at Windows. Re-created a new shortcut for it and replace the shortcut in the Accessories with it and the problem is solved.;)

Just me, but what's so good about using a ported version from Hermes.
When there's nothing wrong with current stock Roms for the ELF.

They are cookable and garanteed stable?

I did it. But state always change to vibrate on every meeting, even if the status is free.
If I switch to automatic in 4th tab, then status never change, but stay vibrate.

Fabulous piece of work Seksona. Installed both versions successfully. No problems encountered during the installation. There is a small bug in the new ROM though. Phone will always switch to vibrate mode after a soft reset.

I notice the the icons and status for "Vibrate' and "Normal" had been mixed up somewhat. Normal="Vibrate" icon; Vibrate="Normal" icon??

When using the 17745 version, every 2-3 days, my touch cannot wakeup from standby status when pressing the power button, and I had to soft reset it. After switching to the 18125 version, it never happend again.

Hey guys,,, this looks fantastic.. i download the full ver, and every attempt to upgrade has failed. I am getting an error message indicating that the file is corrupt. i am tryin to download the lite version. but i have exceeded my limit :(

Hmm, I can't seem to send/recieve MMS messages anymore... I'm not a frequent user of MMS, but I am guessing it stopped working since using the x3 version, with the previous seksona rom MMS worked fine.

I double checked all my settings etc, but all seems fine...

MMS messages won't send: windows mobile gives the warning that it has to connect to 'a different' network (which is correct, it has to disable normale gprs connection and connect to my provider's mms settings)...

Any advice? :)

hi sdamion.. The brightness control problem is caused by the corrupted .dll file in the Kaiser HTCHome located in the Windows directory. The work around is to make a copy of the "HTCUTIL.DLL" file in Windows directroy to another location, rename it to "HTCUTI1.DLL" and copy it back to Windows directory to replace the corrupted file. This will resolve the brightness control problem on the AppLauncher...:D

Just flashed Seksona.X3 Lite Version and it looks great. Fast and stable.
I prefer Total Commander than GsFinder. But it's not a problem.
After flashing, my free storage memory increase to ~55MB. It's a miracle.
I would like to understand how it is possible.

No, Skype happily runs without it. It's actually the in-built VOIP libraries used by WM6 for VOIP calls over SIP. You can install them manually with a CAB but there are still numerous incompatabilities with this method.

Yesterday I found out 2 little problems. Not a killer problem, but it is annoying me.

1) The button to startup the onscreen keyboard just disappears from nothing. I don't know why, I don´t know when. To bring it back I have to soft reset my Touch. I'm looking for a workaround so I can bring it back without reset (any executable file under windows directory to startup the keyboard again).

2) The second problem is not a bug at all. It is just a performance issue. Destinator 6 is a little bit slower than before. I think the 4MB pagepool size is appropriate for most of the programs, but not for Destinator or any program that needs more memory. I definitely agree that 8MB pagepool size is a waste of memory. But maybe 4MB is to small. I'm going to change the pagepool size to 6MB to make some tests.

For me Seksona.x3 version is still the best ROM ever but we do have to help him make it better.

About the first problem, if someone knows a way to bring the keyboard botton button back without a soft reset, please, report me (this bug is making me crazy) :eek:

Yes, I am very happy with Seksona.X3 Lite version too and yes, I think it is the best ROM for Elf so far.

Your problem with WLM build 1600 seems new to me. I am using WLM build 1400 and no such problem so far. Perhaps you can try Build 1400...:D

As for pagepool, I find that 6Mb is ideal for Elf. I have been 6Mb page pool so far and no slowing down at all for all apps. Hope my experience helps...

Hmm, I can't seem to send/recieve MMS messages anymore... I'm not a frequent user of MMS, but I am guessing it stopped working since using the x3 version, with the previous seksona rom MMS worked fine.

I double checked all my settings etc, but all seems fine...

MMS messages won't send: windows mobile gives the warning that it has to connect to 'a different' network (which is correct, it has to disable normale gprs connection and connect to my provider's mms settings)...

Any advice? :)

That seems to be the case. The main differences are explained in the first post in this thread - it's just extra apps.

Cant use active sync as i use a MAC.

Hi,

I installed the full Version on my Touch and everything is working just fine - except 1 problem.
When hitting the "Messaging Button" on the HTC plug-in the MMS Folder opens (although I selected the "Display Account picker".
Any idea why this happens or how I cud fix it in such a way that either the Account picker will show or at least the Outlook Folder opens when hitting the Button (as the MMS Folder is not really that important to me).
When using th Cube and hitting E-Mail - the Outlook Folder opens right away.

I've been using this ROM for a couple of weeks and am very happy with it. However I have two problems with the full version:

1. The weather doesn't automatically update. i think this had been mentioned before but didn't see a fix.
2. I can't add apps to the launcher, it will only let me add file explorer.

There is only a small thing that bugs me with this ROM: when I hit the "hang" button (the red hardware button) on my previous ROM it used to take me back to the today page; not anymore.

Is there a registry setting for this or is it handled by the ROM? in the later case I'll have to find another ROM, because given the lack of hardware buttons on the touch (ohhh do I miss the voice recorder button I had on my wizard, that I assigned to <close/ok>) not being able to return to the today page on a hard button is a bummer - for me.

Otherwise thank you so much for giving me so much program memory :)

Just two thinks in the Accessories folder (GSFinder, Hibernate, Pocket RAR, PPCPimBackup, psShutXP, RegEdit, SynchroTime, Task Manager, WM5Storage)

Wen you run psshutxp a new shortcut appears in the program menu in that case which is the propose of haven it in the application sub folder?

The idea is great but cud you do a rom that have accessories folder but let us choose what program install on it.

The second problem is the end call button in your original 55ms rom went you pushed for 3 sec the screen was lock in these new rom it doesn’t.

I hope that this observation help you in and I am so grateful for your all of your roms

Hey that's right, I can't lock anymore either. In the case it works again at some point, I wonder if those 3 seconds can be brought down to like 1 second only - because it's freaking too long to hold a button so small for 3 seconds :)

Is it possible to remove original ringtones not used in my HTC Touch. I use to apply mp3 files from Storage Card as ringtones and alarms, so I don´t need them in my ROM!!! :( I imagine that if I remove them I can save some memory, isnt´t it? :D Please, help me to remove it and release more memory to my Touch! also, i used to use TNSMS and create a softkey for Today Screen to a New SMS message.
I think as you have split up sms and mms it doesnt work anymore.
anyway to get the softkey or equivalent working again??

I installed ur X3 Lite rom on my elf... Although everything works fine except there is a one small problem ( maybe i am the only one ) i.e. Sometimes my screen become none responsive e.g. i have to click on "Contacts" soft key 2/3 times to make it open and its not only with soft keys ... sometimes its happens "Start" key as well....

Any suggestion ?

Edit 21-07-08 : Seksona after strugglinging with tapping; i faced a bigger problem on my Touch i.e. the Battery drains out in just 30 - 40 minutes and took almost 24 hrs for 100% charging. First i thought that my battery is faulty - So i bought the new battery and it also behaved in the same way. Eventually as a last option revert back to Shiped RUU... and now everything is fine and back to normal....

Now what u think ? what caused that problem ?
