Problems closing programs...other than that, VERY nice ROM, wizeman.

EDIT: It seems the closing program problem *may* have something to do with screen calibration (alignment)...because sometimes when I click "X" or "OK", the right softkey "button" is clicked. Not sure if this will help with a fix. I sure hope this can be resolved, as this ROM is the PERFECT fit for me.

It works on my locked G4. To get the nk.nbf file, you have to launch it so you get to the first screen, then use Windows to search for the file (make sure you search all folders + hidden files), it'll be the one in your TEMP folder (in a subfolder with RAR and some number). Then flash with ShellTools like normal.


And this is a GREAT rom. Very fast. I really like it.

edit: also, I couldn't find PIM Backup and had to download it....where did you put it?

Dudes, x-button is working perfectly, the problem is with screen calibration I suppose. I thought it was "normal" in this build because the Blackdiamond 2.0 rom which i tested some time ago has the same issue.

Anyway this is how you must align your screen in order to get it working properly :

Actually anichillus it is the problem with the screen caliberation. I think some file is faulty or some reg is missing. I just applyed the reg of the-equinoxe but then too it is not working properly.

I've been using see no evil for a while and was wondering if there was a registry value to get rid of the button delay press. I think this video explains what i mean (using the right key to open the calendar as opposed to opening from today.)

I just flashed this one again from an oem t-mob rom, installed the new cab patch for the touch settings, and can confirm infact it does work a little better. When the "OK" button is the window option, will close most of the time, but the "X" button still registers a press of the right softkey sometimes, and other times, nothing at all.

Guys dont judge the chefs we try our best. If you are not pleased with our roms, you can use a kitchen and cook one at your needs.

Its better for me. On the first post I clearly say "Based on my everyday needs" Plus that is better handled with softkeys and loads faster, plus you have more options to choose how you want the photo.

Not only am i having the same probs with htc cust changes, but after every today screen change, i have to soft reset to see the diffs. But the home plugin still wont change.

Also, i noticed the reason for the htc home cust issue is because that prog isnt disabling the home plugin while trying to mod its files. that leads to reg changes but files cant be saved while in use. I think thats the problem.

It doesnt have ipl / spl, it doesnt have extrom (its inside the Os), it only has

84000000-Os
92000000-Splash
9d000000-HTC

So... I think you just have to use Shelltool but not sure... ask the g4 gurus mate :)

Works perfectly on my locked G4. You just have to find the nk.nbf file that's extracted in the temporary directory and flashes well with ShellTool (although I didn't get the 'finish' message, so I waited 45 minutes after I started and just unplugged and it was fine).

After using this for a day, I can say it very stable and fast. I use batterystatus to overclock it. Sleep mode, battery is ok, but using it for wifi the battery drained like 1% a minute. I've concluded that touchflo is completely useless. Going back the .318 builds for stability and battery life.

Battery drains kind of fast when overclocked with omap and smartskey. I haven't installed batterystatus, so I cannot post what the actual drainage is. Free program memory is about 29 mb on a fresh install. No problems with 'x' button now.:D

One question I have: How do you use the youtube video donwnloader?? I am connected via GPRS and have a 4 bar signal, but it says "Invalid link returned!" I am trying to save it to main memory (my sd took a crap) and for the video ID, i used the video url. What am I doing wrong? any pointers would be great.

Yea, try staying awake pressing refresh every 15 minutes for 2 hrs, to see if you uploaded yet. It said uploading for like a day. lol Thanks for your efforts, it shows in this build. :)

And if you use oxios tools you can get more free mem mate :D i got more than 30mb ;p My ROM KICKS SOME SERIOUS ASS ... i did better than what I expected! allright, yeah!!!!!

Just download from the link in page 1. If you can't access it in RapidShare then just wait awhile (maybe a few hours) and it will be available if your don't want to subscribe to the service.

First, let me say that this is undoubtedly the best ROM i've ever tried. About as fast as the average 8Mb Page pool rom with the 4 Mb pool, and BLAZINGLY fast with a 6Mb pool, faster that I can normally even overclock to! I don't even feel any need to see what 8 megs would do, it would just be a waste of memory :)

I've only found one noticable thing you can improve: add the caps dot (the little thing that indicates if you've hit shift, caps lock, dot or dot lock on the keyboard). The key to do so is:

HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd\EnableIndicator = 1
Please also note that the application "?CapNotify.exe" must be running (normally found in \Windows\?StartUp\ already) for this to work

I can confirm that this key works, I just added it. You need to soft reset before the change actually happens though.

I'd also reccomend a 6Mb page pool to make it absolutely perfect right out of the box, but anyone can change that any value they want nowdays, so it isn't really an issue.

Props for making a good, clean rom without the many "features" that usually piss me off.

I'd reccomend trying a 6 or 8Mb page pool without overclocking. Just going to 6 megs seems to make a bigger difference than any amount of overclocking ever did on my device, plus it doesn't waste any extra power.

About as fast as the average 8Mb Page pool rom with the 4 Mb pool, and BLAZINGLY fast with a 6Mb pool, faster that I can normally even overclock to! I don't even feel any need to see what 8 megs would do, it would just be a waste of memory :)

I've only found one noticable thing you can improve: add the caps dot (the little thing that indicates if you've hit shift, caps lock, dot or dot lock on the keyboard). The key to do so is:

HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd\EnableIndicator = 1
Please also note that the application "?CapNotify.exe" must be running (normally found in \Windows\?StartUp\ already) for this to work

I can confirm that this key works, I just added it. You need to soft reset before the change actually happens though.

I'd also reccomend a 6Mb page pool to make it absolutely perfect right out of the box, but anyone can change that any value they want nowdays, so it isn't really an issue.

Props for making a good, clean rom without the many "features" that usually piss me off.

Touchflo is a "patent" for better finger use of the touchscreen. The cube is the cube. Its a program, like a launcher.

In this case (of my rom) touch goes for Finger Scrolling and better finger use of the Interface.

Thank you all for your kind comments... It will take long to release a new ROM... when a good new base is made again. I don't like changing bases every week, just because they get released, doesnt mean they r fast n stable :p V number doesnt matter guys.

finaly after struggling for 15 hours i managed to download the rom.

installation went smooth and rom seems fast, I am missing the wm6 contacts manager ( which i saw you left out in the release ). The default one sux.

But other than the contact manager not being in the release everything else seems to be working great. I will do some more testing later, for now i am happy.

Can anyone confirm or deny whether VoIP works in this ROM?
I have another 5.2.1437 ROM (Whiterat's) and VoIP is included but there is no audio from the speaker when I make a call, if I use a Bluetooth headset there is audio, just none from the onboard speaker. I was wondering whether it's the same in this ROM, if not what differences are there :confused:

Camera flash works fine. Just go to photo then flashlight in the settings. The flash only goes off when you actually take a picture instead of staying on all the time though.

This is a great-looking ROM, and I'm tempted to switch.
Can somebody please post what's the amount of memory available to the user? The first post lists 31M of (presumably) program memory (RAM) but I'm wondering about the storage memory (ROM).

I too am in the same situation. In Bluetooth I now get serial port and hands free services. I used to get hands free and stereo.

Heya. I searched the forum and googled a bit to find the HTC Home profile fix and it seems like the most viable one. Anyways, I had the bug (but seems like not everyone did..and I only installed a very minimal number of apps)... installed the 4 tab version and absolutely no problems at all. Stable as a rock. (other hermes/kaiser not tested..)

You have to be connected to the internet for it to download city information, and for larger range of cities. I have no idea on how to remove it.

It does connect to the internet. It says cannot retrieve at this time. I found the name of the city I'm in, but it just says Huntsville, US. There are probably a 100 cities in the US named Huntsville.

Also from what I read it sucks for the people it actually works for. I want to run spb weather instead

Another device has data, I don't. I need to connect my phone to the device that has data through bluetooth. The "connections" in settings (where you configure your gprs settings and etc.) doesn't have Bluetooth PAN as a connection.

I did a hard reset about 20 times and it would not boot up. I even let it sit for about an hour and it would not go any further. It hooked it up to the pc and of course no activesync since it was froze at that screen. I did a hard reset while still plugged up to the pc and it booted after a min. I don't know if it had anything to do with the pc connection or not. Anyone else having problems like this with this rom?

Yep, it hanged a few times here too. Most it ran again after a new softreset, but today i had to hard reset it.

Probably bad flash... r u noob? (you got only a few posts)... put your phone into bootloader and flash it again (if G3... for G4 i dont know)

Try to keep pressing the ON/OFF button, mine reboots normaly when plugged either on the wall charger or USB...

I've had this rom installed for 2 days now and I like most things about it. However, I'm having three issues, two of which are show stoppers. I'm not sure if they are rom related or not, and would like some advice on how to troubleshoot these problems.

1. My battery drains about 1% every 30 - 60 seconds. I have to constantly recharge the device. And recharging takes forever because it seems to use power at such a fast rate. It takes about 5 minutes to charge 1% on my activesync usb connection. Wifi is off. What could be causing this? The ROM? Bad battery (my battery is 2 years old)? How do I best test this?

2. When I first installed the rom, I turned on wifi and was easily connected to my ap. But now I can't even get wifi to turn on. Clicking the wlan button in comm mgr attempts to turn it on, but then the icon shows that it is still off. What would cause wifi to not turn on?

3. When the device is connected to activesync, it seems like it syncs the same things several times. I see the file sync count go from 0 - 500 multiple times (I have 500 files to sync). Is this normal for everyone? I don't remember this happening with my old xecelen rom.

Note that after installing this rom, I added the US T-Mobile Data and MMS settings. I also installed MS Voice Command. But that's all I've done.

This is an Awesome Rom. Very fast and smooth. I've heard few people complaining about X button problems. When I first installed the Rom I had the problem constantly. After applying the patch it got better but I still have the problem. after a reboot things are fine.. but when I go through few menues in control panel and adjust few settings and try to get out I've noticed that pressing the X button activates Start. Then few minutes later and after closing few windows the problem goes away. Sometimes pressing a softkey (like the big Favourites key in IE start page) is problemetic. Then I launch a game and all keys work fine.

I'm gonna reload the Rom and see if things get better. But I would live with these glitches if I had to for the sake of the speed I'm getting.

Thanks WizeMan, I'll give that a try. I think I have RADIO 2.25.11 from an official T-Mobile ROM. In the past, that was the most recommended radio, but I haven't changed ROMs for well over 6 months. I can certainly try 2.19.11. Any tips on the best place to get it though?

hey im a noob (brand noob). i've read a lot and this rom is awesome but I can't get the weather working it worked on first boot up. and then no more it says unable to retrieve data for selected city. i'm online even downloaded accuweather to internet to see if it helped. also can't get mms working I have t-mobile mda any suggestions? and last but not least how do I get voice dial? thanks in advance. sorry for the noob questions.

Ipl has to be 2.26... Did you flash an official rom (t-mobile for example) before you flash this one???

I did it after Downloading TNE. then a few weeks later downloaded the Tmobile radio rom. To try and improve the the signal. What do i need to do to fix this.

I wasnt talking about RADIO ROM. I was talking about WM5 ROM... an official one that contains the 2.26 ipl / spl ... and this is ONLY IF YOU HAVE G3... for G4 I dont know!!!

Don't start over, 'cause your wizard is already unlocked. Download the ROM from step #7, flash it, and then flash the WM6 ROM you like ;)

Have you tried finding the calender program from the softkey program? Press the three dots next to the "Name" text box, and goto device/windows/calendar.exe(or HTCCalendar). Just tell the softkey button basically where to look for your calendar.

MMS works fine with my Greece Wind .cab ... you probably didnt find a good cab, cause mms ver is 4.2 the one with the separate folders...

Thats the solution... you probably sc*ew something up when you use the softkey program mate. I never had any problems with it.

I've installed MS VoiceCommand 1.6 and everything seems to be fine, except the incomming calls are not announced. Voice commands are recognized, SMS, Email, Calendar is working.
Settings are correctly (worked with my previous Firmware)

Does anyone have the same problem?

yeah actually i do have the same problem with ms voice command. everything else seems to work fine exept announcing calls. it announces text msgs (my mms isn't working) and date,time etc. just incoming calls ring as normal. i looked around and havn't found a fix for it yet so if you do let me know.

I tried that and it does not work for the left soft key. I was able to get it to work for the right soft key. The must be a bug in the rom because it is impossible to set the calendar to the left soft key because the rom continually overwrites it even when you just so a soft reset. Has anyone tried to duplicate the error on there wizard and see if they could fix it?

yes you have to read, read, read. i also have the mda g4 and it took me 5-6 times before i got it. i also hit 99% and stopped, got bootloader screen. I just downloaded t-mobile 2.26... off the website every time i did. then i used shelltool to bypass the unlocking process and it worked after the third or fourth time.

You have to be patient and persistant. look for shelltool and READ CAREFULLY and you should be able to get it.

Just finished upgrading my ladies 8125. Everything works perfect.

But had a problem with downgrading to the button rom. Always stoped at 98%, then i was stuck in bootloader mode. So after reading for an hour, Tried Xda_MiniS_LaunchROM_v154102 rom. Then that helped me back on my way. Was a little weired. think this fix should be added to the cid unlock threads.

This is my first attempt at flashing a non OEM ROM. It took me a while, but I finally have it working. Wow! It's such an improvement over my 8125 of yesterday. Where should I post my noobie Qs? (I want to know how to make the touch scroll work and how to get the weather in Farenheit if possible).

To change the weather plugin to degrees Fahrenheit:

1. Launch Programs > Accessories > Registry Editor
2. Open HKEY_Local_Machine > Software > HTC > HTCHome > Weather > Settings
3. Tap and hold "Celsius" registry key and select Edit
4. Change the Value from 1 to 0
5. Soft reset and enjoy the Empirical measurements while they last!

Great Rom, I am having one problem though a problem that I didn't have with the TNT so I know the configuration settings are ok. I am having a problem with the weather plug-in. It gets an errors every time it tries to load. The only way to update it is to hook it up to active sync.

You can change the soft keys to what ever you want. look in the settings. Change them to something else. I changed mine to Messaging and Contacts.

Edit i switched the left softkey to calender and i get the same error. I would changed the left softkey to something else and use the start menu to get to calender.

And also weather works fine too.

never had problem with weather. but i use calander alot and like it at the left key. i will just do a hard reset and not run softkeys again. but it is definately a bug that should be easy to fix....just not easy for me :( lol

Only with something like LENG but its not fully compatible with wm6 wizard, causes many bugs. But the rom has greek smartdialing. You just press the Green (yes) button to open the dialer, and then just use the pad

for example for ΓΙΑΝΝΗΣ, type 2,4,2,6 ...

Great ROM!
But I have a problem? I can't connect to Internet, Internet explorer doesn't open the links. I try to connect with gprs connection through a proxy server. (Greece Wind Plus Non Stop). With other roms with the same settings was all ok.
What can I do?

I'm having the same problem attempting to connect to the internet through gprs. I've been able to on about 15 other roms, so this is odd. I use the exact same connection settings I've been using for the T-Mobile US proxy.
I also downgraded to wizard love before upgrading to this rom, so it should be cleanly flashed. I installed the network wizard cab from another thread, but it doesn't have any connection settings. Any ideas?

I also found that Cyberon have recently issued a patch for Voice Dialer. It includes a backup/restore function!
I have a problem that troubles me though! I cannot make my bluetooth hands free activate the voice dialer. It was working fine with WM5 but it stopped working since I upgraded using this ROM. I tried a lot of approaches, including searching the registry but no luck!
Any ideas?
Of course Microsoft Voice Command is not option since it does not support Greek!

I reflashed the rom after downgrading to mr clean and wifi still doesn't work at all after the first soft reset. Anyone else having this problem? If so i think a rework is in order... other then that the rom is exactly what i want

Yesterday I went through the trying experience of CID unlocking my O2 XDA Mini S so that I could try some of the WM6 roms out there. I successfully installed this one and was very impressed with it but two things made me switch back:
1. I use O2 payandgo which requires a proxy setting to connect to the internet on gprs. However wifi musn't have the proxy enabled to connect to my home wifi. After a lot of fiddling around I managed to get this to work on WM5 but on WM6 the wifi internet connection wouldn't work unless the proxy is disabled first. re-enabling means I have to reconfigure so its a bit of a hassle.
2. On WM5 I can use POP email on my O2 webmail which is sometimes useful. However on WM6 with identical settings on GPRS when I select Send/Receive it comes back straight away saying it can't synchronize on current settings.

I really like the rom but wondered if there are any solutions to these problems?

On a minor note I noticed when installing some applications it doesn't put an icon in the programs folder. e.g. DivX was fine but no icon anywhere for Sprite Backup.

Any help would be appreciated.

I like the ROM a lot. Would be nice if you can add the streaming media player from windows in the next update so it can play youtube videos directly without the download. So far everything is working fine on my Wizard.

last rom i acutally tested and the best. finally found a rom thats a keeper. only one issue though. i cannot sync using BT, detects my laptop service as serialy port not active sync. same problem with nbd's x. tried installing faria's and tnt's both detecets activesync fine. any of you guys have this problem?

The poster of this rom has not updated or fixed this errors in this rom. I would suggest the new TNT roms. They work great. I once loved this rom but since the lack of updates I had to switch

I was hoping someone could give me a few pointers on the alignment patch. I unzipped it and there are two files in the directory, a .xml and a .000. How do I apply this to the phone? It is a .cab file you just transfer it to your Wizard then run it!....But ... If you flash the TNE 1.0n Version you dont need the patch.

Your TNE wm6 is very very nice. i enjoyed it very much. a2dp, kool menu, wether forcast everything is very nice and working perfectly

I read this tread, and thought: hmm, a WM6 rom for the wizard... I like it :D
so I downloaded it, (with the T mobile radio you suggested).
I have a G3 Wizard, and I first had to unlock it.
First I CID unlocked my wizard, so far no problem.
Then I unpacked the T Mobile radio and let it run (on xp). It went fine (I thouhgt) en it was upgraded within a minute (really, I allso thought it was fast).
then the wizard tried to reboot, but there WAS NO RADIO ANYMORE :s:s
I'm VERY confused right now...
All the wizard does now is to restart over and over and it doesn't get past the "Qtek" screen (where rom, radio, os, etc are) there is no sign of a radio anywhere, and a hard reset doesn't help.
I tried rerunning the radio update, with no success.
I tried to re-unlock it (cid and plain) but that also wouldn't work.

SO HELP ME?:(

Hi the_3s,

remove the Battary for a few seconds and then start the Wizard into the Bootloadermodus by pressing the Power and the Camera Button, release the Powerbutton, but still hold the Camerabutton.
Then you will see the Bootloader Screen.When you connect the Wizard to the USB Kabel you must see "USB" at the lower left on the Screen, then follow the Steps from this Thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285435 again.
You must exactly follow the Step's 1 -17 in this Thread. Its realy important that BOTH IPL and SPL are 1.xx, bevore you flash the T-Mobile ROM.
When you flash the TnE Rom you won't see a "Qtek" Spashscreen, when you see a "Qtek"Splahscreen you dont have realy unlock your Device. But this will only work with a G3 Device.

The X-Button doesn't work. When I open a program or setting I cannot close it. It works fine with other ROMs. I really like this ROM. Hope I can find a fix.

I just tried to install HTC task manger 2.0 on SNE ROM and now I can,t get past the boot screen. Can,t even undo the changes or reinstall the ROMMsince I can't sync.

Is there any way to restore the phone or is it toasted?

My TNE Rom worked well for 1 day. Today I modified the settings of Pocket Controoler, then I soft-reset and couldn't get past the boot screen. Can't connect to PC :( . I really need help. Thanks a lot.

Hi..first of all, this is great ROM...so Thank You for it:) I have only one problem. Default "Pictures and Videos" browser doesnt see AVI videos. It works on my last ROM. Any solution?

Let me add my thanks for your great work. As a noob, I need some help configuring GPRS. I have an unlocked Cingular 8125 and loaded TNE with no problems. Although the phone works, I cannot get a data connect. I tried the recommended T-Moble 2.19.11 radio and then switched back to the Cingular 02.25.11--still could not connect. Apparently, the Cingular load configures the radio for data. Any ideas out there?

Hi,

For the second time in two weeks my TNE-flashed, 8125 locked up after about a week (turns on with the TNE load screen and will not go beyond it). This last time, it was stable for about a week with no recent loads. I REALLY like TNE, but I am getting tired of reloading and customizing a system every week.

My loading process consists of starting with the button rom, then the new T-Mobil, then the recommended 02.19.11 upgrade, and finally TNE. After this I load the AT&T GPRS radio and it works great (for about a week).

I assume it is a noob problem, but is there anyone else out there experiencing it? Help--I think this rom is Great!

first off great rom:D !! been running for about a week now with no problems. i thing i miss is the newer lookin phone app :( have looked around but can't seem to find it anyone know where i can find it?? i know i have seen it somewhere but now that i am lookin for it i can't seem to find it.

Guys... I am really sad to announce you that I am not an HTC Wizard User any more... therefore there will be no new See No Evil Series ROM...for the wizard...

BUT... I will be watching the forum. HTC Wizard was my first Windows Mobile Device... thanks to it I got into this community and into ROM cookin'.

I am waiting for my HTC TyTN II to arrive probably end of this week or the next one. And of course my new ROMs will be out for the TyTN II...

I had this ROM for one day on my HTC Wizard, I turned it on this morning. Bricked. I was able to get it into bootloader mode and put on a new ROM thankfully. Touch Ne Evil didn't seem to work out for me very well. Also, even when ti did work it took way too much memory I couldn't even open a music file with it getting critically low and having to close audio manager. I did look pretty cool though! I hope he WizeMan makes a ROM similar to this for the TyTN II since it is a superior device things should work smoother!

You probably did something wrong.... only 1 post and flashin' ROMs? Have you put all the info of this forum under your skin be4 you try that?
