Hi guys,
I'm cooking my own touch rom and i've finished the first beta for testing.
The touch language is dutch, All the icons are green but for the final release i'll make custom orange icons and tsk's.
Sofar it's not a bigstorage rom, i'm working on that.
Free memory on soft reset:
Program: 21.03 MB
Storage: 47.20 MB
The core is based on the official touch rom:
CE OS 5.2.1238 (Build 17745.0.2.3)
Rom version : 1.15.404.1B NLD
Screens coming!!
Feel free to test the rom, and to report the bugs and such.

Flashing now will report back.
Great clean rom but you can remove dthe windows update and add the kaizer 5/6 tab home plugin. Also change this msn version to the version where the contact arn't copied to the contact list.
Also you can make it your signuture to add the black team plus ipone icons its nice.
The icones are discused in the dutch tweakers.net forum http://gathering.tweakers.net/forum/list_messages/1239969

Hi Bram.
We have dutch forum like XDA for rom developing and support. We also collect apps for pda`s like msn. You can find the live messenger here: http://www.allaboutphones.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=397&p=1434&hilit=live#p1135 en thats also the site and forum for dutch rom discussion.

Yes but the t-mobile internet setings don't work. My apn is internet en de auto update puts internet-act. But al other settings are fine. So leave the update as is.
You can also remove streaming media because tcpmp (with the flashvideobundel) is a better player for streaming media.
And install the patch disable deleting cab files after installation.

This isn't a beta rom. Its stabel and works 100%. hope the new build will be as stabel as is. But we will see because you know what can happen when removing programm's. Just like the Wizard roms.
Hope more dutch people will test this rom. Keep up the good work.

Nice going Bram.
I just now in the proces of dumping the T-mobile rom.
Can you add which Apps you have added.
Because as far as i know the network wizard isn't in the official build.
Also so isn't WLM (those Bastards).
I thought that using the new extract tutorial would allready get a bigger storage versio? As it doesn't put the ext rom in.
Don't let everybody hurry. Take your time. Not even having flashed it yet good achievement.
Allready saw that indeed in the dumping and making the back up there's allready enough room for customisation in graphics.
Will try...... but first make my own backup.
Yes i have just flashed my official T-Mob backup.
I can start testing. (Ugly t-mobile icons, but i do like their darker TSk)

And Bram it looks pretty big Storage to me, 48 free and 20 free.
It does seem a slight bit slower than stock weird.

Flash Lite 2.1 is toch echt een Must.
Oke my first feelings.
Did a second flash and it still feels slightly slower than the Stock T-Mobile Rom (isn't even the fastest dutch Stock i've seen)
Even though green is better then the ugly purple Tmob stuff, keep in mind that a lot of people are going to modify their animations.
So unless you plan to add orange touched animations, having coloured Cube icons isn't worth adding yet....
I agree on adding TCMP instead of streaming player, but i don't know for sure there actually is an OEM version that has Flash playback included.
You could try to manually change the OEM files to also copy the Flash plug ins.
It looks like it's time people start making OEM packages that install to different folders then Windows to optimize speed, the whole new Touch plug in just makes this a necesity.
Just add the registry key for no delete cabs to any of the RGU files from any OEM package, that should do the trick.
Personally i like pBar more then HTC X, but i've only managed to make an installer.cab file. Which in effect should make it a bit easier to make an OEM pack out of.
Just looked at the TCMP OEM package and it seems you only need to add any extra missing plug-ins to the folder for flash support, no file editing needed.
Maybe this is a good test.
I don't know if there is an OEM package for the Kaiser 2.X plug in that goes into Home.
But if there is, you could try taking out all the double plug in graphics from Windows, cleaning it up a bit more.
Nice rom runs stable i'm going to check how far BTstatus goes on your clean version without freezes.
Omap on standard Radio, freezes on 312MAX (which i got working on clean WWE big storage version)
To me this a nice performance test. Till now it's stable on 299. (which is also a good indication)

Hey thank you for the Dutch rom and the effort :) Can't wait to have a nice custom dutch rom!
EDIT: WHen I get some problems with my device, it would be nice to change it back to the default T-mobile rom so they won't notice it was changed. Is this possible with the dump?

Yes it is.
I haven't made a full dump with Radio and SPL but to be completely snaeky i would flash those to for waranty.
Every time you flash an SPL you overwrite the patched version so they won't see this.
The DumRom in my signature is OS only.
That's all i had time for tonight. Will look into making full official dump with ExtRom SPL & Radio soon. But i reckon you won't be bricking your phone as Flashing seems to go smoothly on touch. (to be honoust Flashes don't kill phones, Poeple kill phones)

On with my reviewing.
Nice did you put those extra HTC backdrops in the images folder or is this standard.
BTstatus froze on 299 now trying 286.
(i recommend using the highest possible because if you look at the rest state powerdrain, there is no difference in Overclocking)
Maybe get rid of the network wizard. It still does not have the correct settings fot T-Mob NL. (i'm gonna check the provisioning file see if i can change this)
Since my settings are so easy i don't really need the wizard.
Also i like to use the allready present My ISP & Work Network settings to ad the GPRS settings as these don't have proxy settings. Dang what was the password again for the provisioning file? Or just fogitaboutit, it's 300 k which is big.
I think you need to either ad ext rom for your prefered tsk or make a custom OEM. You only need to add empty DSM and RGU file into it. You probaply know now where to get custom install ID. And then add the registry setting for which home screen to use to the RGU file. I think this way you don't need ext rom, i don't know which method you were trying to get it in.
What i also miss from start is Total Commander.
MS Update? Does it actually do anything? Isn't it weird to get MS updates while you are using a patched version?
It takes space that's what i say.
Also again maybe you can consider using a more tranparent home screen plug in as it makes it easier to custumize the easy way. I'm only saying this to make it mor market atractive ;)

The sixth tab can only be enabled manually. Unless you can think of a way to get rid of the Quickdial registry key in HKLM\Software\OEM\MASD\.
Nope hold on waitaminute.
All you need to do to enable the 6th tab is change the HKLM\Software\OEM\MASD\Quickdial value to empty ;)
This shouldn't be to hard adding/changing this during cooking the ROM.
I'll also look up the registry settings for higher quality BT Audio as it is bad compared to Wizard, and ELF has bt 2 which should handle higher rate anyway. It's sleepy time but i'll find you some nice needed tweaks.

hey Noonski,
Thanks for the big revieuws!! I'm surely using your advice in the process of developing. This beta release was just for me checking how it would handle on other touches, i' must say everybody is quite pleased with the performance.
Still must delete the unessicairy stuff from the rom.
This base is by the way not the official t-mo rom but the official htc dutch rom, so it has networkwiz and livemessenger.
The process of building is a bit slower becouse i bought a new computer yesterday and i must install al the apps on it, end of this day i mayb can continue building this rom!

Me Make BooBoo Double post.
So you got a nice new Speedy Computer heh!
Good thing about cooking Touch at the moment is that it's no Port from other device so very comppatible with other devices since there's no big difference in Builds. This just means there will be a very good custom kitchen just for touch because it looks nice and easy to cook to.
Coming weeks i'll be delving some more into big storage creation (don't know yet if they are using the compresion method in hypercore do do this), making Oems, and trying the Hypercore kitchen. So you will definetly be getting some Q's from, me about cooking to.
From Tweakers:
[HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Bluetooth/A2DP/Settings]
Add new dword, Value name=BitPool; Value data=48 (Decimal)
Modify, Value name=UseJointStereo; Value data=0 (Decimal, Originally 1)
For BitPool:
Microsoft suggests the following bitpool values for optimal buffer sizes.
30 - Low audio quality
40 - Medium audio quality
48 - High audio quality
58 - Excellent audio quality
Chose one you like. I think 48 is good enough.
For UseJointStereo: use 0 instead of 1, then you got the real stereo.
Like i said before, the Touch should be able to handle full stereo and Excellent Quality easily with Bluetooth v2.
I haven't tried intergrating regs as i got stuck after getting stuck extracting a NBD rom that was totally stripped.
But i think i'll have a nice pBar OEM in which i'll but these settings, and more, into. (looks like single exe Apps shouldn't be to hard)
Now where was that damned no cab delete setting?
Ah password for provisioning is 1234.
Now i need to find which folder is for t-mobile NL, because i see that the wrong settings could be fixed.
<parm name="UserName" value=""/>

No in my case it need to have internet as acces instead of internet-act.
And also it's not putting in the tmobile user and tmobile password.
I don't use MMS so i rarely check these settings.
Also the Wizard can be installed seperatly and it can even run from SD without installation at all.
It's nice to have pre installed for simple users. But i reccon none here are simple, or at least they shouldn't be.
What i do is.
I install the network wizard to card.
Copy the program folder to main dir of card (not cut)
Uninstall wizard. Then manually put pack the copied folder to program files.
I can now always start the wizard from SD card.
I'm going to make a small collection of handy programs that do not need to be either pre installed to Windows folder or device.
Some installers do need this as they have dll's they need to put into Windows.
I have seen that some settings for providers are more complex then the ones i need.
But believe me once you have seen the Touch run with a 12 MB pagepool on 312 overclock, you will understand that performance is is way cool. And the less goes into the Rom the quicker it can get. Then again it's Bram's Rom and i don't know where his focus lies in.

Hi Bram,
Have you tried setting it to xp sp2 compatibility (maybe make a shortcut for this) ?
It can also be the DEP settings, it's in Computer-Properties-Advanced-Performance-settings-dep.
Hope this helps.

Most probaply on your new machine your processor has full Virtualisation support. I'd check out VmWare and run an extra version of XP virtualized.
Or better yet cook a Vista version with a real Admin account and without all the extra crap with v-lite (since your into cooking anyway ;))
Also be sure to set Run As Admin in compatibility tab, or rightclick run as admin.

Yes that's what's so nice as i said before, Maxing your Overclock does hardly impact power drain.
Good thing about Big storage is that the WWE versions i tested were faster.
BTW DO NOT INSTALL WLM 1.4 Fixed over Dutch WLM.
Bram if you cook WLM into the ROM be sure to remove th present WLM parts. They cannot co exist. Tired ti install several times with everything disabled on homescreen but it froze three time on third splash.
I'm almost completing an OEM package with some reg tweaks and pBar. Will have it finished tonight. I you would like to test this in the kitchen i'll know for sure how to make OEM packs for single exe files.

I know most of us here are dutch, but try to keep it universal.
This home screen plug in has 6 tabs i'll be uploading an OEM packages that includes the 6 tab tweak in a few minutes.

If any one else is cooking out there please try to see if this package turns on 6th tab and really changes audio settings. But be aware this package is aimed at Dutch ROM only. (different folder structure for start up items and menu.
Bram i'm depending on your balls here. I ussually hate making something without testing it myself. But i'm keeping out of the kitchen for time reasons (Junky danger). Worst that can happen is you get stuck on third boot and need to reflash from bootloader.
BTW how does it pick up flashing from Bootloader (haven't had any bad flashes yet)
(Nope sorry i had after changing Pagepool from 12 to 8 without going back to original first and it flashed just fine)
Also have you thought Resaving some of the none transparant files to 24 bits PNG files for reduced file size. I tried this once but overwriting has bad effect once installed, optimizing graphics in Kitchen hasn't. Can save you at least half MB in windows folder and memory usage.
Gotta Go.

It's all Bram.
I saw his first post when he starting trying out Hypercore for Touch.
And compared to some other releases the Cooks are not really open in the How they did. Bram however looks to have an "okay let's learn something" atitude.
Which to me is the right XDA atitude.
Not like some New cooks just posting a ROM here and not sharing any information or having an EGO because they made a ROM. In trying to help out i'm learning and contributing. I've been an XDA visitor for over 5 years and it was not build on "here's another Rom". Anyone can build a ROM but a great ROM is indeed not build by one. Even the Hypercore is build on tools from Faria, Arisme, Itsme etcetc. And in the future i will probaply call on Bram's findings as he's a few steps ahead of me. So i chose to side step into understanding the OEM packs.
But this is all Bram's project.
At the moment i'm not even in the kitchen yet.
BTW i almost forgot.
You wanted to set your own default skin after flashing. If the OEM package works, then adding
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\A2DP\Se ttings]
"Skin"=string:\Windows\Aero.tsk
or
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\A2DP\Se ttings]
"Skin"="string:\Windows\Aero.tsk"
To any RGU file
Should solve your issue.
Well i'm back and it seems the OEM package was incorrect.
Which should give a hint at which stage i'm at the moment.
If i didn't have a flat BaTTERY i would probaply be flashing right now.

Hi noonski Thanks for the info, i've had some problems with live messenger to, i'll take a look at it today.
I would love to take your oem package to the test in my rom, since i'm still learning how to create an full working oem pack.

But it now seems i was putting my custom OEM pack in the wrong folder. It needs to go into the Package folder with red cros, not the sys folder.
Well let's flash again.

Personally, I would prefer the original icons, but in orange.
Just like T-Mobile makes the original icons pink, the green touch has the green icons, and the original touch has the blue icons... :)

Something like this, see attachments ;) The green one is the official HTC one for green touch'es.

With this App you can edit the brn's:
Just Recolor the bmp files with photoshop(others cant read the bmp files) and then drag all the bmp files one by one on the Bmp2Brn.exe this file creates the brn's, then pack them for me and i wille embed them in the rom.
Thnx for taking effort!!

Bram i read that you changed the MUI files from a WWE version to dutch.
Now maybe this sounds like a bitch workaround. But Maybe if you first build a regular WWE with the fixed WLM 1.4. Then re extract that build and replace MUI to dutch again. This way you can first test WWE with WLM and you can pinpoint the issue with language files in WLM 1.4.
Just a theory because using the Regular cab install it does disable WLM but the only files it can't acces that are always in use are.....
It could also just be the WLM OEM RGU pointing tothe wrong files, but then again why would it kill my installation?
Naw scrap that just thinking out loud.
Shit i just downloaded from Rapidshare (wwe ultrabigstorage, yes i'm working on a Secret Project Creation)
Can someone put to http://putstuff.putfile.com/
(also because some people don't get acces to Rapidshare)
And more good news.
Sim unlock seems to be available.

Don't forget that when you save your new Graphics files not to use 32 bit with alpha channel for non transparent graphics to reduce Rom files size and memory load ;)

Now flashing USPL. Oeps going slow on 75% Doesn't look good.....
Pfew it restarted let's look if it will flash TD03
Dang i managed to flash an extracted en recompiled an official Dutch Rom.
But the new Really Big storage extracts with a washlist of missing files resulting in an error flashing about incorrect file size when writing to RAM.
Geuss i'll have to try it with the first big storage. Still a lot to learn dammit.
Nope got a corrupted image 270 error.
Let's try another version.
Nope that's flashing.
Why did i delete the rar file....
Have to redownload tomorow late.
Jezus cristus. Zat ik even te zweten.
Somehow after flashing the new Elf_DOPOD_AU_1.14.710.2_4.1.13.46_02.97.90_BLUE_Sh ip, kept getting 270 corrupt image errors.
But i kept on trying and it finally flashed the patched USPL and after that DT 03.
I reccomend not taking the risk flashing the Elf_DOPOD_AU_1.14.710.2_4.1.13.46_02.97.90_BLUE_Sh ip if you have a weak heart untill someone posts a 2.97 radio only. Also saw mention of radio 2.83 being the best so far.
Now the new Build.
Nice splash screen and Cube colors. But the Launcher app icons still give me that "Just a little to much colour" feeling.
Like the ELF icons in auto profile more.
Maybe the SIM icon and contacts icon look better in black in the dialer on the orange background.
For the future i think it's possible to extract the green icon in the Active sync file and replace it with an orange version to.
I will look into it this weekend. (oeh custimized Icons for all the Exe files, doesn't that sound cool)
Looking nice so far. I'll be back.
So what did you change in the registry?
And also, during which part of cooking do you replace them? During extraction or during building?
I have added the Active sync icon file. The .txt extension needs to be removed first. If anyone can change the color be sure to get the same file size. And i'll but it back into the exe file.
Again if this experiment works, we've got our work cut out because it means all icons can be replaced in the whole rom some where in version 9523...
It's working dammit, HAHA.
I've just added a patched replog.exe file with a new patched Active sync icon. It's not orange but it's replaced. So this means it's possible.
I replaced the file on my ELF and after a restart it was replaced. It did give me a cert warning when i ran the file the first time. So it might be that it wont cook. But there's only one with that anwser.
File size does not seem to be of importance and unfortunatly the quality will always downscale because it's a 16 bit app. But still the higher the original the better the result.
I've added the new Active sync ico in a zip file if someone knows how to edit .ico files please replace the color and re upload.
You could of course also tell me how to do this myself.
Now testing new solitaire exe file.

7th September 2007, 02:53 AM
Just build a rom based on yours but with the patched active sync file.
Now flashing.

Looks mighty fine.
So where are you editing the registry entries then?
For all the english reading, translated it means. I Like, I Like a lot, me play.
Due to some power failure........
Please click yes to reboot...?????!!!
Translated yes it has a blue screen.
Translated, I did some shit then went to sleep, see ya.
Maar hij is wel mooi, Dutch default.tsk
Good morning.
CUSTTSK is not a good idea. Dit you intend Screen Capture and Registry wizard to be in Programs and Settings? Or didn't you change the OEM packages to fit Dutch Programma's and Instellingen?
What happens if you just replace te default home screen with a renamed Dutch Default and then ad the Original Homescreen under a new name in: Build\OEM\OEMOPERATORS?
Seems to run nice on 299 now (after hard reset and no more restarts with TSK running at start).

Hi Bram,
i'm testing your v.06 rom. I like it very much. Good performance.
I've run into a few problems:
1. after i've installed additional software, like sprite-backup, resco-explorer, my touch hangs, when doing a reset it will not load the rom. flashing seems to be the only solution.
2. the phone only set to vibrate, no matter what I choose.
And if it is not to mucht trouble, can you add utilties like pocketrar and a registry editor.
Also, PPCPimbackup seems like a good feature, its all freeware.
Keep up the good work

Hi Bram,
i'm testing your v.06 rom. I like it very much. Good performance.

PPCPimbackup & PHM registry editor are great apps to always have on storage card. Not really needed in Rom.
Did you disable your Homescreen plug in before installing?

What new rom are u using and does the new build have a big storage.
I am going back to the dutch rom because i doen't see any advantage in the other roms. Before flashing beta 0.6 when is the new version coming out.

I think he's using the Core Kitchen but also using a lot of documentation from other kitchens as CORE still is incomplete at informing about modefying the install.
But so far i managed to extract and rebuild simple versions.
And he's using standard HTC NLD touch Rom without Ext rom.
What is the big trick for big storage? Is it just file compression?
Because without Ext rom you allready gain 15 MB. The only way to get bigger ROM is Compression and component removal.
And compression is not adviced on DLL's and is more proccesor intensive making it freeze more often on higher Overclocking.

[QUOTE=bram_smulders;1483490]The new beta is available for download, it adds better wlm compatibility and some register tweaks!
It also has a new bootscreen and orange icons.
Sofar it's not a bigstorage rom, i'm working on that.
The core is based on the official touch rom:
CE OS 5.2.1238 (Build 17745.0.2.3)
Rom version : 1.15.404.1B NLD
THANKS FOR THE ROM... I like it... (design en kleuren SUPER!! - bovenop NLD natuurlijk)
but I tought it was a 1.15.404.1B NLD? I download and flash the 0.6 version
and see ROM Version 1.11.404.1B NLD??

I extracted you Rom and found you have allready made your own packages with reg settings.
Nice, But don't forget to change your version number 0.4 ;)
Let me check if i get this right.
You get a DSM number make the rgu, place them into a folder then place them into the packages folder before recompiling with build OS?
Or am i missing a step?
I'm going to start cooking a WWE SPC version hopefully based on "Rishi5_NoWinUpdate verybig storage and no HTC Plugin and faulty MSN"
But i'm afraid it has to many missing files.
Oh yes and change
HKLM\Software\Microsft\Today\Batterystatus\OmapClo ckSet
To 16076 (247)
I know it sounds weird but i heard someone's ELF doesnt run above it', and freezes up.
So 247 sounds saver.

Dutch Touch beta 0.6
Changes:
- Regfixes: TSk run at first boot., WLM Bootfreeze fix, Temp internet files to sd
- Added Programs: Batterystatus 1.04.203 beta4 , Pocket screen capture(will not be in final, just to take screens at building), registry
- Rest: 3 Custom Orange TSK's
I have a question. Why no dutch Localization for batterystatus?
This rom is for dutch people or not. lol
Nice rom can't wait for the next update.

There are no settings to change this into Dutch, it's simply English.
Hey Bram BTW. I've added optimized Phone icons, just as an Example.
You forgot to flatten and save with reduced file size in you 0.6 build ;)
Just saving valuable space 50 k instead of 250.
I understand you probaply know how to do this but just as a pointer.
I'm about to run my first custom buildos with some tests in it.
Yes Yes Yes.
My first custom Rom for the ELF Yay.
Did a simple flash with Battery Status, HTC Home (Using Stripped Rishi5_NoWinUpdate has no HTCHome) and Today agenda.
What have i learned today
1. Don't forget to delete double Files.
2. Don't forget to delete blank last line in rgu.
Storage 57.5 Program 24 Free After Boot..
My heart is racing, It's alive It's alive.
Trouwens Stom er is wel een NL Bat status.

Hi all,
I've spend the whole monday to enhance graphics, and to convert a newer build into dutch! And i managed to get that working! Whoohie!
I'm now building with:
CE OS 5.2.1437(build 17745.0.2.3) instead of
CE OS 5.2.1238 (Build 17745.0.2.3)
Today i'm gonna spend on creating not any beta's any more, just a clean first release!
Gr. bram
ps. Noonski thnx for the graphics!

Are you going to put the ext rom back?
Is it to get the tsak installed correctly?
And better yet how did you extract it? Because even thought i'm not planning to use it, but if there is no other way to get the homescreen installed correctly i will have to.

Nice icons. ;)
I think Bram designed the icons himself, these were just compressed.
Bram.
Is CE OS 5.2.1437 an original ELF Dutch rom or a ported Artemis Rom?
Untill i learn how to remove stuff savefully i'm sticking with ultra slim 1238.
Noticed the Molski PDF just yesterday and everything's falling into it's place now.
BTW how you feel about building a kitchen based on the Core Kitchen.

Hey noon
Yup this ext rom is only for the default tsk, If you extract a official shipped rom, the extraction tool extracts all the components, os.nb, gsm.nb, extrom.nb etc.
You have to download winimage(search google) to open the extrom.nb, then you can edit remove and add stuff to it.
BTW. The final release of Dutch Touch 1.0 is available:
