WM6 Extreme Edition :cool:

I've decided to create a rom for myself, and I hope that my idea should be interesting for everyone.
The goal is to make a clean ROM that not includes MS Office, HTC OEM applications, and some other stuff. Why? I think that everyone is using some programs that others people don't need. For example, I dislike standard MS Office because it can't hande native Office formats, and I'm using SoftMaker office instead.
So here we go - the WM6 Extreme Edition ;)

The ROM is based on bepe's 0.76 Lite version. [forum.xda-developers.com (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317690)]. Free memory after flashing:

- ~77,6 Mb of storage ROM (build > 3.70.02)
- ~29,5 Mb RAM

Interesting, but you still included HTC Task Manager =P, another cool idea would be to create only the base rom and distribute it with a kitchen full os packages, people would then hand-pick all the apps to be included.

So, chefs would only create the packages, base roms and tools, no complaining about 'hey include this, include that, remove this, etc', to take it even further, the kitchen would support multiple devices(fetch the list and tool from a server), packages would also be retrieved from the server(like device skin downloading in SOTI Pocket Controller), and it would have a dead-simple GUI.

I just tried out your ROM today. Quite like it. Very lean! Loving it.

However, I have a problem. When I click on either the 3G or Signal icon, and then select the CommManager, it willl give me an error, mentioning something about CommManager.exe is not found or cannot be access. I believe you have take it out and replace with the wireless manager? Is it possible to link that shortcut to the Wireless Manager? I believe its about editing the registry but was trying to figure out where to do the amendment. Hopefully you can shed some light on it.


I love the fact that it only has 3 and that is in fact what I used most of the time.

Btw, any way for me to remove the HTC Task Manager? I think I prefer the vbar or pbar to it anytime. The one thing I hate about it is that it cannot go into the quick menu anywhere anytime. Can only be accessible from the home. It bugs me.

You can install CommManager from a CAB:

And I don't know how to correctly remove HTC TaskManager, the reason is that after the removal it's not possible to install it via CAB :(

Great Rom...

one minor point you have to install your own comms manager,
perhaps on a future release this could be included and also have the extended rom viewable..

It won't be included, because many people just don't need it. If you like it, install it from a CAB, but tell me what standard Wireless Manager can't do that CommManager can? ;)
There is no extended ROM in the lastest release because of a BigStorage - you do have almost 77 Mb of free Storage ROM instead ;)

I agree this is a great rom but the lack of a comms manager is silly although you can add one, why one add one ad the start as we will all need one..

over all great the large storage is fab... more cookers should do away with the ext rom and give it to us as storage
