Problem while upgrade from 2003 to WM6

The following message comes up during upgrade-The Rom Upgrade utility is not design for your device.Get proper Rom Upgrade utility/
What does it mean&why?Please explain me what I have to do.Thanx

hi redeemer!
u have to make sure, that active sync is NOT running, whil you are trying to upgrade.... you have to close the processes (there are two of them) in the taskmanager, before upgrading! hope i could help!

Thank u but it was unsuccessful.The same error message comes.And when Itried to do it through the Activesync it gave blackscreen with word"serial" on it&this number V 2.07.Device is not responding to any actions.What 2 do?
