I am having two major issues:

1. GPRS
2. Sync ActiveSync with Bluetooth

I hope these gr8 ppl here on the forum would solve this v.soom!!!!

Me tooo.i cant connect to ActiveSync VIa Bluetoth..How much i miss it !!:(

me toO! after changing values on registry, nothing happens.

Another problem... Can not use slide 2 unlock properly with the use of slide to answer. after you have encounter the error, default caller ID doesn't show anymore, just answer and ignore buttons only.

Do any one managed on making an internet Pass Through from the PC to the Device? If not you can add it to the bug list of the Himalaya WM6.
We also need to Organize the Bug list, may be as follows:
1 - GPRS & MMS not working.
2 - AutoSuggest not working.
3 - Internet Pass Through.
4 - ActiveSync via Bluetooth
I would also suggest that while adding a new bug to the list to confirm the listed bugs in order we could all know it not a personal or single user problem and at the same time we try to help him.

The only thing is to check that you have turned it on in ActiveSync on PC...

Hm, as for now I have 1.19, as I was flashing all the radios I have (beginning with 1.08 one), while fighting with gprs.

Maybe you have some strange or incompatible ringer set? Hmm.

I wonder... what if one released some rom xored... and put a readme file with it that you have to xor it again before flashing it... how many people would land in bootloader?... :mad:

I'm having a dutch t-mobile phone, MDA II , Orignal latest Rom.
Upgraded to WM6, and im unable to activate the phone, aka, im dont get link with t-mobile, network search DOES list T-MOBILE NL

Im flashing back atm to original WM3SE of tmobile.

You did enter PIN, didn't you? :D
This seems as a radio problem, not OS. What radio you do have now? Try to upgrade to 1.17 or 1.19.

ExtROM is no more here! Now search the forum for reformatting your disk-on-chip (DOC) for getting storage joined with ExtROM, giving you storage as big, as 32MB :D

before when i'm using WM2005 AKU3.5 BY LLBASHA ROM:3.50pp16a1, it was working fine :confused:

Are you saying about a clean, fresh installed OS, or you have some apps already? I suggest you to HR and try connecting on a clean OS.

Everybody, listen! Did you clean hive and formatted storage? It's a must! If you didn't, I don't want to hear of any bugs from you... So, I'll repeat - just right after flashing format your storage and clean the hive!

Camera bug ?
- Brightness, Zoom, White Balance - doesn't work.
- While in video mode select MMS video size (resolution), Camera stop work. FOREVER in video mode.

Active sync bug ?
- Active sync (4.5 at XP) is slooow.
- PDA remowed from cradle and AS continue in synchronize ..

Menu sound bug ?
- "Menupop" sound be silent ..

Calculator bug ?
Calculator key "," is too low. This is IMPORTANT error !!! :)

1. Signal strength always blank . Should i change the radio version ?
If it is .. How to change the radio version ?
2. The sounds sometimes keep silent suddenly . After do a soft reset it turn back normal again .

I dont read / forget the readme file . what is in there ? i think it usefull . because i am always upgrade / downgrade my device and when i open the read me file it`s just write Thanks ... thanks ... and thanks ....
Inside that just write down the part of software . so .. i don`t want to take care about it ?

i have 2 xda2 and i have updated it to wm6 aku4.2 but one it backlight is darker, it have only 64mb but in the board have 4 chip infeon=128mb. i don't understand why it recognize 64mb? thanks.

As helmi_c mention in his thread for WM6

1. Start your device in bootloader mode by pressing and holding down:
DPad + PowerButton + ResetButton
After a second release ResetButton, then release the rest of them.
Your screen will show word "Serial" at the top.
You are in bootloader mode now.
2. Run TofClock_HIMA_WM6_AKU.0.7.exe then click install, Wait till finish.
3. Hard reset your pda.
Press ResetButton and hold down CameraButton + RecordButton.
Hold them pressed until the "Boot Options" menu appears on the screen.

Select the options as follows:
(for selecting use RecordButton, change values with CameraButton)

Enable KITL -> NO
Clean Registry Hive -> YES
Format Storage -> YES

When done, press DPad and wait until OS starts.

4. Done.

I'm surprised that nobody asked you before:

-what do you see when you go to settings>device>hardware>storage size? 30MB or 15MB?
-which programs did you install? were you able to install these exact same programs on RAMdisk on WM5?
-lots of programs have hard coded install path and will always install in Storage even though you select RAMdisk. If you're willing and able to study the workings of your device in great detail it is possible to move most of them manually. Some programs allow simply cutting and pasting their files, then changing their shortcuts, other programs need registry editing, some, especially Today plugins, are hard, if not impossible to tackle. All the information is on this forum. I'd love to give you all the links but that would be impossible. It all depends on your wishes, your needs, your skills and how much time you're willing to invest.

i don't know i'm loasing 15 mb with both wm6 by C_shekhar and helmi_c but now i'm using c_shekhar;s one it's working fine with me bcz i have 30.53 mb for storage and 61.28 mb for programs and ramdisk is 39.96 mb not used. what to do :(

All those who complain that 30MB Storage isn't enough, take a look at Ather's screenshots. A lot of installed software and still 22MB free.

I have to admitt that my setup isn't that clean either, mainly caused by several GPS / Bluetooth programs and some ongoing experiments I shift up and down between 10 and 16 MB.

The difference is pretty big ~5MB;)

Actually Number of softs dont matter. What matters is thar haw big a portion of the program is going into \Windows. Incidently the entire part of arcsoft mms composer rests in \Windows. Thats why it shows such a big difference.:)

Hi to All. İ'm a newbie

When İ connect the external battery pack to my XDA İİ recently flashed to WM6, the power meters don,t recognize that its connected and therefore don,t charge it either. İ have searched alot but can,t find anything about this. İs something omitted from the power dll?
Could someone please help

There is no and will never be an official Himalaya WM6, our ROMs were ported from other devices. These other devices do not have an extra battery pack connector, so their OS doesn't support it, so ours won't either :-(
Unless some genius writes a driver...

When you look in Settings>Battery, you do not even see a backup battery meter. Why MS left that out is a mystery to me, 3rd party utilities fortunately are able to display it.

BTW your extra battery is probably the "Backpack", when you search this forum using that string you'll find several threads

Hi!
I'm using WM6 by Tofclock (the "b" version). Everything seems good, but just a little bug for me:
If I set a ringtone with files in wma format, stored in \Windows\Rings, it works! but after every softreset, the ring will be set back to default tone (a wave file). And sometime rings, alarms and alerts sound only for short time: after backlight auto switch off and sound too... but it works good for calling (I can answer and talk normally) and others...
Any suggestion?

Although you are right that 16 x 4 = 64
These facts are BS in this context. The Himalaya has indeed 128 megabyte RAM.
It shows 64 MB as Program memory (depends on ROM), but there's also Ramdisk and Pagepool.

i can sends and receives SMS, receives call but i cannot make call.
it show signal level at the top ok.when i make call i am getting an error

"Cannot complete the call. The signal may be unavailable or the phone number may not be valid. Verify the number or try again later."

It happens to me as well. But, not 100% of time. It happens to me once in 3 operations.
I feel that it is bacause of some contact misbehaving while physically removing or relacing the battery. Thats why I have reduces the RAMDisk size in my 6.1 ROM.

yes, i did it, took out my battery and the ram disk stay after i put the battery back. looks like next time i have to make sure that the red switch go on the right position.

That was an example for the VJdialer available in the ROM. Like wise you can create the icons (put pictures) of the frequently called numbers and place them as shortcuts.
The unfortunate part (rather foolish) was that I placed my own home numbers in the example. And as a result am getting numerous international calls Where no body speaks. May be others are also ending-up dialling my number while playing with the icon. My foolishness....cant help myself now..
