how do you remove the card, i have a 4gig one which i put in my new kaiser last night, i just went to remove it to put some more stuff on it, but it wont come out, the old varioII model you used to be able to push it in and it would spring out, this one does not appear to be doing that.. anyone else got issues or is my unit broke already ?

it reads in the phone ok as 4gig so it is working...

any help appreciated.

I have the same trouble with a Sandisk 4GB SDHC card. I read on another forum that this is a problem peculiar to Sandisk, others should work as advertised, however cannot confirm personally.

this is indeed a scandisk card....

it does seem to go in just dont trust it as it is not smooth like the vario II.

i will see if i can get another card and test. not had any issues with scandisk previously, but there is always a first for everything.

thanks for the reply.

Is the rubber cover supposed to come off completely? Mine seems to be attached at the right side... i've pulled it quite a bit, but i dont wanna break it off :S

Are you supposed to push the cover 'up' or just pull it off!?

the plastic cover hiding the micro slot just lifts up (it does not come completely off, you can then move it to one side whilst you put the card in) once in slide it back over and push it into place..

I've has my Kaiser for 6 weeks now and have had this issue with the 4gb sandisk card since the day i got it. I thought it was my phone that was busted. Ive been grabbing the card and forcefully pulling it out with my fingernails and have had it in and out probably 20 times with no damage to phone or card. Not the best way to do buisness but I didnt know what other options I had.

I'm actually a little ticked off at the way HTC is designing their card slot covers as of late- first the S710 fiasco, and now this annoying cover that doesn't seem to like being opened...

I have the same problem with the Sandisk 4gig card in my 8525 as well. I think the card is slightly over spec size because other cards click and pop out, just not this card. I had to use tweasers the first time to remove the card. Then I actually carefully trimmed/scraped the sides of my card with an X-Acto Knife which helped the fit.

I had problems with my Sandisk 4GB cards, too. But only the first 2 or 3 times I removed each card (I have 2). Either I've subconsciously figured out the trick to removing them or the slot has trimmed the cards so they don't hang up.

Hi guys,

I read the troubles with the Sandisk 4GB cards. Glad I read your post, I was just about to order a Sadisk 4GB.

Can you please reconfirm which SD cards 4GB, 6GB, 8GB work fine Kiaser?

This may help many of us.

Thanks

I hae a Sandisk 4G card. It comes out after pushing it in slightly - the spring works for me. After testing this 10 times, the card comes out 7 times. I think it depends on how you push it in.

I got my TyTN II today and I've got a sandisk 4GB microSD and it pops in and out with no problems. It's a shit trying to get the rubber cover off when you've got no nails though :)

i tried it, too. you have to turn the rubbercover to 180° to the right side. then the slot is free to get the card in and out. a spring is definitly in the slot. my 1GB sandisk slides out easily but only when the cover is away.

I've bought a Kaiser last friday but I've had the same problem with Sandisk 4Gb. I've thought that was from the phone so I've changed it but it xas the same problem :( Off course because it always was with a Sandisk 4Gb...

So now I know that it comes from Sandisk card ! Thanks for you !

Do you know wich card works perfectly with Kaiser ? Sandisk 6 Gb ?

Thanks for your help !

i dont think its a bug. how often do u change the card? normaly it should jump a little bit out of the slot so u can grab it with your fingernails or the stick. it could be that the 1gb is a little bit thinner as the bigger ones. i got my caliper here and its 0.75mm thick measured with the little sticker on the one side. so now we can check if the 4 oder 6gb version have the same measures thand the 1gb.

Further to my last post, after inserting and removing the card a few times, it seems to have freed itself off now. Still a bit stiff, but no problem removing now.

a little offtopic, but does somebody knows why the 4gb card DOES work in my Tytn II, but not in my PC and Laptop??

It freezes the explorer in windows when trying to open the sdcard....

Thanks,

Jelle

use the supplied sd card reader (hopefully your microsd came with one), it supports sdhc, older sd readers may have issues reading the new format (sdhc)

i AM using the supplied sd adapter together with build-in sdcard reader in my computer and laptop, but it doesn't work...

I've got the same problem. Same Sandisk 4Gb MicroSDHC in the supplied adapter and USB reader. I'm getting a message that the disk is write-protected. And yes, I've checked that the write-protect tab is in the correct place.

Perhaps either the SD adapter and/or USB reader are faulty by design. Perhaps someone who has other adapters and USB readers can check?

I thought the most you can install is a 4GB. Has anyone had problems with the 6GB?

It's a Sandisk problem.
I had the same with my Sandisk microSDHC 4GB, but now after so many times of removing it it's ok! ;)

I had the smame probelm too but with a kingston card. i learned not just to push the card in with my finger, but used only my fingernail to push it in or out.

I just got the tilt last week and got the SanDisk 6gb on amazon, its a little snug to go in and out (not as smooth as my old 512 card) but it works perfectly once actually in the device

the SD adaptor does not work on my desktop, it just hangs and causes explorer to crash, so i use the USB adaptor supplied

on my new HP dv9500 laptop however, the SD adaptor works without a hitch so I guess it matters when your computers memory card reader was made?

i have a new sandisk 8gb microSDHC card in my new kaiser but it pops out fine and goes in smoothly. maybe it depends on the cardtype? or just a little production error with the thickness of the cards?

I had the same problem with my brothers sandisk card testing it in my first kaiser. I hd to get a pair of tweezers from a pc toolkit to remove it.

I then got my second handset and a cheaper play.com 4gig card, this one pops out after pushing it down, like most other phones seem to.

I am using 8GB Sandisk card - clicks in and pops out as it should. Reads and writes perfectly.
