They dont give you any code, just a .UNL file that you use with their program to unlock the device

Just a simple question, I'm probably getting a Rogers' ELF locked but without SIM card, so can I install the cab files of the unlocker with the phone locked (I guess it would be like that without the SIM card)?

In other words: when the phone hasn't a SIM card is completely locked, or do you have access at least to the WM OS?

Sorry for the delay in th
e answer .. We you get the 8 digit code you turn on the HTC with another simcard (if your htc was blocked by Orange, use a Vodafone simcard for example). Then you'll be asked to enter the 8 digit number by your phone. Easy, isn't it?

Sincere apologies for not being able to reply your posts & PM's as I have been keeping very busy for the past 3 months.

Since I was on my 1-week vacation, I thought of working on your problems, and have come up with the updated version of this tool. Hope it resolves all your issues.

You would not get any annoying pop-up with this tool now, only the one that has your unlock code... :)

Steps :
1. Copy 'Cert_SPCS.cab' on your phone & install(run).
2. Copy 'EnableRapi.cab' on your phone & install(run).
3. Establish an Activesync connection with your phone.
4. Unzip the zip file & Run 'Unlock_Touch.exe' on your PC. ( New Unlocker)
5. File 'unlock_code.txt' thus generated will have your unlock code( Eight-digit number).Ignore any other digits if generated.

I HAVE BROKEN THE LCD OF MY HTC TOUCH SO HAVE COME DOWN TO MY NOKIA 6600. INCONVENEINCE, IF ANY; IS REGRETTED.

I tried your solution but it doesn't work.
The other site is attractive but 39 $ is expensive just to unlock a phone.

I'm going to take a guess, you restart the device with a different sim card, and when it asks for the code you just enter what you got from the text file.

BUT. What I hope someone can answer for me is how do you find the SIM pin 4 digit code that you have to enter before entering the 8 digit unlock code. It seems like some people have had to do this, others just say unlocked in 5 min thanks haha. Is the 4 digit SIM pin included in the text file that the program generates?

All has worked fine for me : just 2 or 3 minutes to unlock my HTC Touch (locked before on french operator Orange -a prepaid pack-).

I really have a hard time understanding that nobody even cares for the virus/trojan issue which might be given here. In another forum I at least got an answer by someone who is good with computers. He said it might be the unpacking exe which is a problem for certain scanners.

But still Clamwin Portable finds so many Trojan droppers in here that I think it would be very nice of rishi to just give a technical explanation to this.

I have Fido (CAN), New world (HKG), softbank (JPN) sim cards.The SFR sim card is an old of mine, so I've know is pin code. By default, a new sim card as this pin code : 0000 (4 zéro). Try this, or better, ask a friend who have a phone+sim from another network operator.

Ok guys... didn't really have any troubles, notepad file showed me 8 numbers so I jotted them down all ready to punch in.

I took out my Rogers SIM and inserted a Fido SIM, powered the phone on and voila... I saw signal strength and was able to make a phone call.

I did however see a little triangle up top in the bar, later on in the manual I saw that it meant "roaming"... wtf?

Did anyone notice that I didn't mention having to punch in the 8 digit code obtained earlier?

What am I missing? At what point does the code window pop up coz I didn't have to punch in anything :confused:

I'm got a T-mobile MDA Touch Plus, i've tried the unlocker and all i get on the txt file when opened with the HxD program is

Step 1) I run Cert_SPCS.cab on the Touch. The phone reports: "Cert_SPCS.cab was installed successfully"
Step 2) I run EnableRapi.cab on the Touch. The phone reports: "EnableRapi.cab was installed successfully"
Step 3) I do a soft-reset
Step 4) I connect the touch to my Windows XP system and wait for ActiveSync to confirm it is connected
Step 5) On my Windows XP system, I run Unlock_Touch.exe

As a result, textfile: "unlock_code.txt" is generated with following content:

04879194 0

Step 6) I remove the backplate of the Touch and replace the SIM-card. Then I close the backplate again and I boot the Touch with the new SIM-card inside. After a while, the phone requests PIN-number and I enter the 4-digit PIN-number of the new SIM-card which is inside the phone. The phone continues loading and then it reports that it is locked for this SIM-card.

nobody answered (as quick as I wanted) n since im real impatient, I went ahead n did it....... n i believe it worked!!
my background is green, and when i installed both files, most of its center became blue........ which scared me..... however i went on and entered the code n i guess it worked :rolleyes:

Now for the real question: now it is unlocked, completely? I can use it in any country, 4 countless times? It'll never again pop up the unlocking code?

you don't need to "sync" the unlocker - read the manual, everything is very good described here also in the thread!

You must wait a long few minutes to enter the code again.
But i think you've got a wrong code.
I'm in the same situation like you. But there is no news about this problem.
Try a commercial issue if you want.

That's because there probably is a new lock on your device.
I've had the same problem on some devices.

For the guys who understand the in and outs of the device:
Normally the unlocker reads an unencrypted code out of the device.
(It's probably some kind of bug which caused the unlock code to be unencrypted on the devices.)

But some of the Elf's (even the ELF0100) can be locked in a "new" way which DOES encrypt the code
and when you use the unlocker, you'll get the code, but you can't decrypt it.

Send a private message to jocky_wilson2001 and I believe you'll get some instructions to unlock your device.
I hate to say it, but if that won't work, you can unlock your device @ imei-check.com (it works).

I see some people got it working with their Rogers, but then they said they used a Fido sim --- BUT A FIDO SIM WORKS WITHOUT UNLOCKING.... They are the same company, and I am using a Fido sim currently in mine without any unlocking. Silly people :rolleyes:

I tried a sim card from a US company but the unlock code didn't work when it asked for it.

EDIT: Nevermind, tried it again after a few months and it worked! I don't know what was the difference, it was the same lock code. I have the stock Rogers ROM on it now, so maybe before I had Blue Elves.

I have a friend with Elf from Vodafone UK. He already has the unlock code but after inserting it, the device asks for another code (which he doesn't know!). I has already tried the same code but nothing happened.

If he uses a Vodafone SIM card he can receive calls but not make them.

I went through 16 threads and tried the Unlock_Touth.exe and the Elf_Unlocker.exe. I tried both versions of both files(Cert_SPCS.cab & EnableRapi.cab). Dates were from 2007 and 2008. I ran the Cert first and then the EnableRapi 2nd. The notepad comes up blank everytime. Is this a Sprint issue or a loose nut on the keyboard? Of course you can´t, this is for TOUCH, very well described in subject. If you want anything for wizard, you can check Wizard section or Wiki, both have sim unlock solution.

Hi, I have purchased a ELFin from Comcel, Colombia, and when apply this procedure for SIM Unlock this output a invalid 8 digits code. I can`t Sim Unlock my device,. There is oher method for SIM Unlock ?. My OS ver. 2.18...... ESN , IPL 2.240001 and original SPL 2.24.0000. The CID Unlock procedure with USPL 2.26 has been done fine. Only SIM Unlock not possible.

doesn't sound logical.
It may be that the orange sim has become damaged since you took it out.
try it in a differnet phone.
also try resetting the phone to orange settings using the HTC UK providers tool

I've made sure the vodafone sim works by turning it off and on just to check that the problem wasn't with all networks, and its not which is some consolation. Not working on P3452 locked on TIM-Brazil, and serveral other devices around here. I get an 8-digit code on TXT, but it´s not good for the job. Seems that newer devices are somewhat diferent.

Tomorrow I´ll get the unlock code from my operator, and than I´ll be able to tell if they are just addind some numbers to the code we get from this method, or if is something completely new.

I managed to check updates before firmware patch/unlock (and there wasn't any). Now the applet still says it can't reach the update server.

Can possibly someone answer my question I would really appreciate it.

Since I was on my 1-week vacation, I thought of working on your problems, and have come up with the updated version of this tool. Hope it resolves all your issues.

I took the HTC Touch in India and it was workign fine there.

Recently i moved USA and was unable to use AT&T sim card.

Later i used the method to unlock and everythign works fine now.

Now am able to use the AT&T Simcard, but when i unlocked the phone using the above method, all my Contacts and calendar items got wiped out.

Can anyone advise me how it happened and is there a way i can recover them..?

You will need a non-Rogers SIM card after installing the cab files and running the exe from your pc that generates the unlock code. From there you pop in the non-Rogers SIM and upon starting up the phone, you will see a message that prompts you to enter an unlock code. Enter the code you generated and your phone should be unlocked.

The hard part may be to get a non-Rogers SIM.

i tried many ways..... by installin the hard spl in mobile n thn runnin ruu setup n all.... nothin worked...
In d setup the loading sticks to 0% completion only n even in the mobile shows d same (0%)..... n after sumtime shows error# 262.... did all d recovery proceders told in its readme file n software.. still nutthin works n all goes d same way wid the same error mesg in d end.....
once even i downloaded d asian version of ruu rom version 1.93.... file is about 100 mb..... i did all the same n when i click next for the changin rom process to run n show % on tht setup.... mobile slowly shuts down does not even restarts.... shows nutthin all comes blank dere n then i get a mesg miss communication n sumthin like tht on pc......

That's correct. Right now your only option is to try the pay sites such as imei-check.com.

Also, please try to reply to the main unlocking threads, and not start a brand new thread. This creates too many threads, too much information and confusion for other users.

This is an Elf forum, i.e. HTC Touch for GSM. There is no Hard SPL, you are in the wrong forum, and this is a SIM unlocking, not CID unlocking, thread....

Run my device_info.bat on your new HTC Touch phones, and if it shows "MNC+MCC = Not found" then this SIM unlock code will not work.

A week or so ago I tried for a couple of days everything on these forums to unlock my Dutch KPN HTC Touch. Finally I used the commercial services of LoekieLoekie. They apparently use the NextGen cracker, but at a better price. I worked immediately for me, and now I run the Touch Surface RC2 ROM.

I hate commercial solutions to simple cracking problems, but I did not manage otherwise. As mentioned on this forum somewhere KPN (and some others) use a new form of encrypting the SIM-lock, which causes freeware crackers to fail.

1) Unlocker needs itsutils.dll and pdocread.exe in folder c:\unlocker otherwise it doesn't work
2) device needs to be RAPI unlocked first
3) unlocker reads 8 bytes starting at offset 0xfc of BK1C, this will work on most touch devices, but not on all, see example output:

1) Do you have a GSM version of the Touch?
2) If yes, did you install the EnableRapi and Cert files?
3) If yes, run the device_info.bat program (in my signature) and tell me what you see


Friend, The Elf_Unlocker returns a blank notepad file...no codes in it...and when i checked the itsutils.log file on my phone, this is what it had...may b this can help...
m phone is P3490 LOCKED to AIRTEL...

i want to unlock it.

i have the 8 digit code, but when i put the sim on the phone and turn on its says some like this: 'this was tryed 12 times please wait'
and i cant put the code.
is any solution for this problem?

There is no such Elf or Elfin wth this ROM version. Are you sure you have a GSM version of the HTC Touch? Is it a Touch Pro/Dual/etc.?

A friend of mine helped me upgrade my phone. I tried everything but didnt come right. He gave me the link below and the file does everything for you automatically. No CID unlocking etc etc......
