worked first time round, perfectly no probs what so ever.

using my phone with my new network carrier yay! (the company who have a contract with apple). I couldn't wait to cancel my contract with my old provider (A Subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom) who had stated i had to wait 28 days to receive my unlock code! and at a cost of £15!

the charge i managed to get for free with a bit of haggling, but still 28 days!

A quick How-do-i-do-this-even-easier-then-it-is-explain guide:

Download the file package which i included.
The content is self explained.

1. Establish activesync connection.
2. Copy and Run the contents of the "Copy and Install these 2 CAB files on your Touch" folder on your Touch
3. Copy the file inside the "Put the file thats inside this folder in your Windows Mobile folder" folder to your Windows folder on your Touch
4. Copy the folder "Unlocker" to your pc. PREFERABLE your c:\ drive.
5. Go to the location where you copied the "Unlocker" folder to. I.e "c:\unlocker" if that's where you placed it, if you put it on your desktop it ofcourse isn't in c:\unlocker.
6. Run/Execute 'Elf_unlocker.exe'.
7. You would get the unlock code in the notepad file....congrats !!
8. Remove your simcard insert any other SIM and enter this unlock code...

you just unlocked your Touch in 8 SIMPLE steps ;-)

Save yourself the hassle and just run device_info.bat. No need to install anything. It will display the SIM code if your device is compatible.

What does device_info.bat say? (check my sig).
If it doesn't show the SIM unlock code then that means your device doesn't support the free method.

1 - I used the tool of Rishi2504 (read this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1493119&postcount=1)) to receive the code to unlock.

2 - I called HTC Brazil and informed that I could not unlock using the code that I received.

3 - Two days later I received the code and could unlock my :D

i followed the steps as written .. ran the 2 *.cab files on the mobile then connected my touch to the PC and executed the *.exe file then it gives me this code:

On the back of my HTC theres an IMEI (the one that the soft retrieves) but on system information theres the same number with a 01 at the end.

As the method didn´t work I must ask. How can I generate a code for the alternative IMEI???

Also, how many attempts do we have to input the code?? This is a vital question that I didn´t find answer to...

So the only thing we can have is to keep the phones as a normal pda there is no solution to unlock a sim loked htc over 3 times wrong code so Avoid !! to users dont put the code more than 3-4 times the phones locked forever and never noone in the world can unlocked it ...:confused:

Since I was on my 1-week vacation, I thought of working on your problems, and have come up with the updated version of this tool. Hope it resolves all your issues.

You would not get any annoying pop-up with this tool now, only the one that has your unlock code... :)

Steps :
1. Copy 'Cert_SPCS.cab' on your phone & install(run).
2. Copy 'EnableRapi.cab' on your phone & install(run).
3. Establish an Activesync connection with your phone.
4. Unzip the zip file & Run 'Unlock_Touch.exe' on your PC. ( New Unlocker)
5. File 'unlock_code.txt' thus generated will have your unlock code( Eight-digit number).Ignore any other digits if generated.

I HAVE BROKEN THE LCD OF MY HTC TOUCH SO HAVE COME DOWN TO MY NOKIA 6600. INCONVENEINCE, IF ANY; IS REGRETTED.

Sincere apologies for not being able to reply your posts & PM's as I have been keeping very busy for the past 3 months.

Since I was on my 1-week vacation, I thought of working on your problems, and have come up with the updated version of this tool. Hope it resolves all your issues.

You would not get any annoying pop-up with this tool now, only the one that has your unlock code... :)

Steps :
1. Copy 'Cert_SPCS.cab' on your phone & install(run).
2. Copy 'EnableRapi.cab' on your phone & install(run).
3. Establish an Activesync connection with your phone.
4. Unzip the zip file & Run 'Unlock_Touch.exe' on your PC. ( New Unlocker)
5. File 'unlock_code.txt' thus generated will have your unlock code( Eight-digit number).Ignore any other digits if generated.

I HAVE BROKEN THE LCD OF MY HTC TOUCH SO HAVE COME DOWN TO MY NOKIA 6600. INCONVENEINCE, IF ANY; IS REGRETTED.

I have just tried it I got the unlock code but when I insert a sim card it tells me :"it's needed to try 7 times, wait to repeat", I tried a hard reset but it still gives me this message, it seems too much attempts had been made so it is impossible to enter code, I am looking for a method to solve this, maybe something like removing the battery for 24h, or flash with a new rom ... If someone had faced such problem can he give us the solution ? Maroko if you have the solution, please can you post it.

Search for "unlock"

You did not understand my problem. Most of the cellphones have a limited attempts to enter unlock code. We tried too much attempts on my HTC elfin. There are methods for other cellpohnes( for example BB5 nokia rewrite PM file to reset counter 3/3 to 0/3). Once the cellphone is blocked, we cannot enter any code, the only solution is to unlock it via cable and software suited to the model. So now if you understand the issue, we have 2 options: a trick to reset counter of the HTC elfin( other HTC could have the same trick) or a software that unlock it with a software circumventing the code counter.

Step 1) I run Cert_SPCS.cab on the Touch in root directoy. The phone reports: "Cert_SPCS.cab was installed successfully"
Step 2) I run EnableRapi.cab on the Touch in root directoy. The phone reports: "EnableRapi.cab was installed successfully"
Step 3) I connect the touch to my Windows XP system and wait for ActiveSync to confirm it is connected
Step 4) On my Windows XP system, I run c:\Unlocker\elf_unlocker.exe. Unlocke folder contains El_Unlocke.exe, itsutils.dll, pdcread.exe, code.txt

As a result, textfile: "code.txt" is generated with empty content
Do I make a mistake, or is this "elf_unlocker.exe" fake?

I'm having a Problem too.
I've got a HTC Touch locked to Orange UK.
I've installed the 2 cab files on the phone and run them.
The phone is connected to the pc.
I've run elf_unlocker got the same message as everyone else clicked ok.
A CMD window opens says something about "ERROR" and closes befor I can read any more
Then all I get is a Blank notepad window and a message saying "The system cannot find the path specified."
Now I've spent a long time reading this thread and can't find any thing about wheather this works in Vista using Window Mobile Device Center.
Does anybody know?

Just an after thought. Has anyone tryed one of these Turbo Sim cards. I've just order one (only £7) thought I'd give it a go.

Unbricked but now SIM locked

Dear friends,

This ROM unbricked mine (Elf_Elfin_2.11.0.0_MFG_ModuleBuild) but after that i faced strange problem.

My Elfin was simlocked and before I installed this ROM i did not succeed to unlock it, but after I install this ROM it also sim unlocked my Elfin.

After that I decided to install new 6.1 ROm and I did it without problems through HSPL but the pocket is now sim locked.

Any ideaa?

I don't know a sole with a Fido card (the only other GSM in Canada)...and don't want to wait until I get there only to find it it didn't work? I went to a local store that sells all mobile phone brands, including Fido (there is no independent Fido store where I live) with some bologna story to try a Fido card (I have unlocked an older Samsung phone as well), but they said I'd have to pay to activate a SIM card, that they didn't have any activated that I could try. Any ideas?

Actually Fido works without unlock for the Rogers Touch ;) Even the store people and Rogers support don't know that!

have currently HTC Touch ELFIN,formerly Orange branded,then unlocked,flashed Onyx 4.2.1 Ult then Generic rom.
Now, There's following
IPL : 3.07.0002
SPL : 3.10. cmonex.

I wish to flash TMobile MDA Rom in to it but that rom has lower IPL/SPL and also my device is ELF01000 and the rom for flashing is for ELF0300.
My question is : could i somehow install MDA rom to my Touch?

Claro never works, I stated it some times in this topic, but seems that ppl never read. Not just Claro Argentina, but Claro from any country, and all carriers in Brazil, this method do not work. No, it does not work with Vivo, or Tim, or even Oi. If you have Oi, contact the operator, and they will give you subsidy code for free, with few questions. Vivo also delivers the code for free depending on your contract. Claro or Tim, very dificult to get without paying for it.

Some ppl contacted me regarding that, and I tell again and again: IF YOUR PHONE COULDN´T GET CORRECT CODE USING THIS METHOD, THERE´S NO FREE UNLOCK FOR YOU! For those who are interested, I can SELL working service if you contact me in pvt (i´ll never spam u offering that).

For some others, that just couldn´t get the .txt file, you´re doing the whole thing wrong, and that doesn´t mean you can´t unlock your phone for free. Just read instructions again, and follow them since the begining, and you probably can unlock it.

It doesnt give you a Trojan. Since its an EXE file and its packed in RAR or what not and your trying to extract it, the AntiVirus Programs think that its a Trojan, hence the "Generic", but in fact its not.

Hi,

First I would like to thank the creators of the SIM unlock files, they worked correctly on my phone. It is now unlocked from Orange.

The only gripe I have is that it does not appear to unlock 100%, by this I mean:-

If I put the Orange SIM in the phone and go to Start>Settings>Phone I get the SIM card's phone number showing at the top of teh screen (The Phone was originally from Orange).

Now,

If I put my ASDA SIM card in and do the same steps as above, it does NOT show me the phone number of the SIM. So I can only assume there is some other setting which is not being altered correctly.

I am sure you have got better things to be doing than try to sort out such a small problem, but from my point of view it would be the icing on the cake if it was sorted!...

Anyway, once again Thank you! my phone is unlocked.

I have tried to unlock my phone but all get just blank text file. Then put SIM card from another operator and it works too. So my gues is that the phone never been locked in first place.maybe thats why the text file is blank.

Got a MDA Touch for my boss. Code was supposed to be send, but your help here worked faster than the code which is coming :)

How it works (noolander) : You install a GSM card of another provider than the one selling You the phone. When You enter the pin-code the device will tell You it is locked for "foreign gsm cards" and will only work with the cards of your provider unless You provide the 8 digit code. That's where You give this code as an answer and the phone will be unlocked, hence accept other GSM cards.

The phone I have has been bought in Germany, as we wanted to have the German language. The card provided is Russian. After unlocking I can use the Russian card. (and even faster than the German provider could provide me the code :) )

i sim unlocked my mda touch (elf)(the white one) and thats all working fine.
I switched from tmobile-NL to telfort-NL but now i get the roaming warning when i go online :confused:
in the display i also get the pyramid, anybody any ideas how to solve this or do i really have to solve it or isn't it a problem?

Great solution. It works like a charm. HTC touch was locked with Orange and this unlocked in 2 minutes.

Only thing left is the Orange splash screen at the start. Not sure how to remove that. Any suggestions????

I have been trying to use the unlock for my MDA touch and was getting mad with the administrator messages. I spoke to a techi at work who suggested I 'run as administrator' rather than double click voila 30 secoonds later I had the code and 2 minutes later the phone was unlocked brilliant two days later no probs with phone so thanks a bunch. I will send you at least one or more pints

Sincere apologies for not being able to reply your posts & PM's as I have been keeping very busy for the past 3 months.

Since I was on my 1-week vacation, I thought of working on your problems, and have come up with the updated version of this tool. Hope it resolves all your issues.

You would not get any annoying pop-up with this tool now, only the one that has your unlock code... :)

Steps :
1. Copy 'Cert_SPCS.cab' on your phone & install(run).
2. Copy 'EnableRapi.cab' on your phone & install(run).
3. Establish an Activesync connection with your phone.
4. Unzip the zip file & Run 'Unlock_Touch.exe' on your PC. ( New Unlocker)
5. File 'unlock_code.txt' thus generated will have your unlock code( Eight-digit number).Ignore any other digits if generated.

I HAVE BROKEN THE LCD OF MY HTC TOUCH SO HAVE COME DOWN TO MY NOKIA 6600. INCONVENEINCE, IF ANY; IS REGRETTED.

My HTC was locked to Airtel.After Unlocking, The device works fine with the other networks, but there is another problem for me after unlocking. The phone starts to send bulk sms to somewhere for about every 5-10 minutes, the sms are not in the outbox either. Ok I've tried everything about 9 times each and it's just not working. I have an HTC Touch locked to US Cellular and I want to unlock it and flash to Cricket. It asked my for my pin, then it came up with a box saying 'service provider locked, enter your unlock code'

Typed in the 8 digit number and presto.

Worked perfect first time :D
