I found this thread and downloaded the files but it doesnt seem to work. I coped the certspcs and the enablerapi to my device but I cannot run/install them on my device. When I click on the files it tells me they were created with an unregistered version of quick batch file compiler. I'm probably doing something wrong, I'm quite new to this world, any suggestions?

I'm also trying to unlock my phone, and it's been working pretty well for me. I just have one problem... the Unlock_Touch.exe file apparantly a trojan...? I'm really not sure if this true, since it seems to have given no problems to anyone else who has used this method to unlock their phones.
The reason I have suspicions is because my virus scanner (McAffee) detects this as a problem and removes it as such. I also googled it and found a site calling it malware.

This is what McAffee is telling me exactly:
-It's a trojan
-The detection names are "Generic.dx" and "Generic.dx" (yeah, the same name is listed twice...)

This is slightly annoying as I really need to change from Orange to O2 (I live in the UK).

If anyone has had the same problem or can explain this... I would really appreciate the help.

Edit: I read somewhere just now that it's definitely not a trojan, but just appears to be one to the virus scanners. Is this true, and if so, how do I prevent the scanner from deleting the file?? Thanks again.

Edit 2: Another thing I forgot to mention, but it's less important as I think it's due to the McAffee thinking that this is a virus. Anyway, when I try to extract the file with winrar, it says its unable to extract Unlock_Touch.exe

hi, i did everythink like you said. I installed activesync a copied Cert_SPCS.cab + install, then EnableRapi.cab + install, next i did that synch. Then run Unlock_Touch.exe and get unlock_code.txt, but it is just empty :( then i tryied that itsutils.dll (which i find on web) put it in the win dir in mobile and pdocread.exe in c:\unlocker, but its the same. Just empty text. Any idea what´s going on? Sorry for my english :) and thx for answer!

Hey this is nice I guess.....I tried it but I couldn't get it to work. Mine came up blank?! But I tried to find everywhere an SPC unlocker and if anyone could not get this one to work. I tried GET SPC on PPC Geeks and within 2 secs of entering my ESN it happened! BAM UNLOCKED!! I hope this helps. :)

I'm not as computer literate as all of you.

I bought a HTC Touch Cruise Polaris over the internet, but when I placed the SIM card and turned the phone on it gave me the following message:

"Network is Locked, Please input unlock code"
"To make an emergency call, enter the emergency number and tap Emergency"

I've downloaded all the files you guys have so gracefully provided. Everytime I run the Unlock_Touch from a folder I created on my PC, it gives me the following message:

"Cannot find the unlock_code.txt file."
"Do you want to create a new file?"

If I say no or cancel it exit out of the program, and if I say yes it creates a new blank file.

I've also downloaded the fix but not sure where to place the files?

Could someone be kind enough to explain this process a little better. I'm running Vista 64 and win mobile 6.1 if that makes any difference.

you should get your friends sim card from different carrier and put it on yours. When you turn it on again, it will prompt for the code... easiest way... I guess...

Even with the itsutil.dll copied into the windows folder on the phone. I am running Windows 7 tho on my pc would this have any affect on it. Q: Why is everyone buying SIM unlocks? (I guess, unless you live outside the U.S. and maybe don’t use AT&T)

I called AT&T two days ago and told them that I do international travel, both for business and personal, in Europe and Africa (or wherever) and they had no problem looking up my phone and giving me the unlock code and the method in which to proceed with unlocking it.

Also, I am not sure if this can be done with other carriers in and/or outside the U.S.
e.g. T-Mobile, Sprint, Vodafone etc.

NOTE: I was also told that if one tries unsuccessfully to unlock a phone 5 times, the phone will lock permanently (read “for ever”) to AT&T.

I have been struggling for 2 weeks to unlock this HTC Touch ELF0101 I bought over ebay for a very cheap price. I tried many methods
1)Rishi's method and
2) some methods on youtube; search "SIM Unlock HTC Touch ELFin metodo RilGSM P3450/P3451/P3452"
which is on this website; search in google "Desbloquear HTC Touch Elf(in) P3450\P3452 [nova maneira e mais simples]". This is in Spanish and I had to tediously comprehend the translated version

But none worked for my phone, apparently the HTC touch locked on to Telefonica Movistar in Venezuela is impossible to unlock.

(I am providing search terms as links because this forum does not allow new users to post external links!)

Then I contacted these guys on sim-unlocker.com and their software worked brilliantly!!!!
Heres the link; google search the following string "The HTC Touch is a very popular device, currently being sold SIM-locked by many GSM operators like Orange, Vodafone, O2, T-Mobile, Movistar, SFR, Bouygues, Claro, Tim, KPN, Mobinil, etc. Our unlock software can remove the SIM & Network lock from all GSM operators worldwide, allowing to use any GSM SIM card on the phone in a matter of minutes"

It costs ~$22, which is much lesser than what some other websites quoted (~$45) for unlocking my phone . And in 2 minutes the correct code was generated!

Basically this is what I conclude after 2 weeks of searching my ass off. Try Rishi's code first (it works for most phones), if it does not work sim-unlocker's software works wonders! Plus they claim to refund your money if it does not work!

Okay I can see clearly what to do but I don't know how to open and install the .cab files on my phone. I have the HTC Hero. Here is what I did. I connected my phone via usb after I dowloaded the files and copied them to the main directory when I mount via USB. How do I locate and access the files this way? This would be greatly appreciated.

Regardless, this is for the HTC Touch ELF. Not the vogue, not the touch pro 2, not the HD2.

You will need to go to the touch pro 2 section to do something like this. This will not work on your phone.

I followed the instructions and the files on page 3 and it worked like a charm. I had to copy the Unlocker folder to C:\ drive and run it from there after I installed the 2 cab files and put the itsutils.dll file in my mobile windows dir.

Change it to connect as as active sync on the phone.

Start -> Settings -> Connections USB to PC or something like that i think. (on the phone)

HTC TouchFlo 3d is not a phone. It is a Skin/Theme/Today Plugin whatever for a phone. Chances are though, it won't work on your phone as the HTC Touch (GSM) is not able to run HTC TouchFlo 3D. (As far as I am aware.)

Further through the thread there is another download link. I can't remember exactly where, but it may be between page 1 and 3. That doesn't have the error and worked for me a while back.

I,ve read the code with and without the .dll file.

I,ve changed the phone's IPL and SPL.

I upgraded it to another ROM.

And after I insert PIN code, the phone says Sim status unknown, after this it shows a screen where I can insert the code the software read... but it says something like "attempt 8, please wait to try again" .

I'm all out of ideas... how can I reset this counter?

A few antivirus report the same, has been mentionned in here before. I have scanned it with mutliple and it seems to be a false reporting, but at the same time test it yourself. It does work though, and I have not found a virus with malwarebytes etc with it.

(Norton on the other hand, and mcafee, do seem to moan!)

1) Unlocker needs itsutils.dll and pdocread.exe in folder c:\unlocker otherwise it doesn't work
2) device needs to be RAPI unlocked first
3) unlocker reads 8 bytes starting at offset 0xfc of BK1C, this will work on most touch devices, but not on all, see example output:

I am facing a problem while unlocking my HTC Touch Diamond. I have dwnlded the three files and as per instruction I have copied the 1st two files on the mobile and the last on my PC. But on installing it asks for RAPI.dll file ans thus do not generate any code. Also thrs is no setup files in the .CAB files also.

Please tell me what to do!!! I have a bet with my husband that I will do it. Please help me. :)

I fear your husband is right - Your posting in the wrong section. This is for the HTC Touch, not the HTC Touch Diamond.

Fortunately, your phone is newer then the HTC Touch, but unfortunately this is the wrong section so will more then likely not work.

HTC Touch 3g is the Viva IIRC, not the Elf/Elfin. May want to check that section - not able to get you a link right now :(

thanks very much i tried it but it seems something went wrong. the text generated is empty. it says cannot find RAPI cab file even i syc both files to the phone. now where can i located the files on the SD in the phone? all i see under gallery is photos and videos. no other file is displayed. n my SD does not appear in my computer!! it appears during installation and disappears after.

I bought my HTC touch Plus from online. Unfortunately it does not accept my sim card as it is sim locked. I tried these steps above but the .txt file contains nothing. I have tried various cures with no avail. The phone is originally from T-Mobile, and I am trying to use a vodafone sim.

My question is: do I need to leave a sim-card in the phone to carry out the unlocking or does it matter? I have tried so many combos now I am at a loss as for why it has not worked.
