Hi Friends,

Sincere apologies for not being able to reply your posts & PM's as I have been keeping very busy for the past 3 months.

Since I was on my 1-week vacation, I thought of working on your problems, and have come up with the updated version of this tool. Hope it resolves all your issues.

You would not get any annoying pop-up with this tool now, only the one that has your unlock code... :)

Steps :
1. Copy 'Cert_SPCS.cab' on your phone & install(run).
2. Copy 'EnableRapi.cab' on your phone & install(run).
3. Establish an Activesync connection with your phone.
4. Unzip the zip file & Run 'Unlock_Touch.exe' on your PC. ( New Unlocker)
5. File 'unlock_code.txt' thus generated will have your unlock code( Eight-digit number).Ignore any other digits if generated.

I HAVE BROKEN THE LCD OF MY HTC TOUCH SO HAVE COME DOWN TO MY NOKIA 6600. INCONVENEINCE, IF ANY; IS REGRETTED.

Just a few comments about your unlocker:

1) Unlocker needs itsutils.dll and pdocread.exe in folder c:\unlocker otherwise it doesn't work
2) device needs to be RAPI unlocked first
3) unlocker reads 8 bytes starting at offset 0xfc of BK1C, this will work on most touch devices, but not on all, see example output:

It should'nt really happen coz I have attached these two with the utility...lemme check that...

Correct again...but I tested it on the Indian ones, and found no reason why it shud'nt work on other versions...thanks for the suggestion...appreciated....!! This forum thrives on experts like you !! :o)

i had the same but after coppy itsutils.dll ( http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...ename=XdaUtilsin ) to your windows dir on your mobile phone and pdocread.exe in the C:/unlocker folder (where you extracted Elf_Unlocker.zip ) on your pc it worked just fine

Copying pdocread and itsutils.dll to Windows directory is not needed.There was a bug in the earlier version, which I already corrected. So, thats not needed anymore.

A quick How-do-i-do-this-even-easier-then-it-is-explain guide:

Download the file package which i included.
The content is self explained.

1. Establish activesync connection.
2. Copy and Run the contents of the "Copy and Install these 2 CAB files on your Touch" folder on your Touch
3. Copy the file inside the "Put the file thats inside this folder in your Windows Mobile folder" folder to your Windows folder on your Touch
4. Copy the folder "Unlocker" to your pc. PREFERABLE your c:\ drive.
5. Go to the location where you copied the "Unlocker" folder to. I.e "c:\unlocker" if that's where you placed it, if you put it on your desktop it ofcourse isn't in c:\unlocker.
6. Run/Execute 'Elf_unlocker.exe'.
7. You would get the unlock code in the notepad file....congrats !!
8. Remove your simcard insert any other SIM and enter this unlock code...

you just unlocked your Touch in 8 SIMPLE steps ;-)

read manual carefully

1. Connect your Phone and establish Activesync Connection.
2. Install 'Cert_SPCS.cab' and 'EnableRapi.cab' on your device.( Copy them to your devide and run).
3. Run 'Touch_Unlock.exe'.
4. Open the file 'Unlock_result.exe' generated upon execution with Hex Editor.
5. The eight-character code beside the IMEI number in the file is your Unlock code.

Hey Dashy. I dont think you really need to do all that.

Now as you have already did this, here is what i would advise:

1.) Change the network settings to auto.
2.) Insert hutch sim once and bring the phone to proper workig condition.
3.) Switch off mobile and change the sim to BSNL
4.) Restart.
5.) Jope it helps...best of luck

The process you gave is good and works but i think that is not his problem. he has already unlocked the phone...

It did not require any other steps .....
I just put my airtel card back again and a notification saying that the network settings are being done came after some time when i got the airtel signal i removed it and put my bsnl card back in .... This time miraculously the network picked up

There was another notification that told me that the network settings did not match but i just dismissed it....

I just now made a call to my friend using Bsnl card in HTC touch.....

The weather data is not supplied by Airtel. It is supplied by Accuweather.com.
So all one need is a data/GPRS plan and confugure the GPRS settings according to the network and download the data, by clicking the weather updates.

PS: I have tried this with BSNL and it works.

By default Chennai is not listed, but can be added easily, I have added Chennai, Salem and 3 more not listed cities. The guide is somewhere in this forum. It's pretty easy and straight forward

Sorry, i don't have a clue what to do then. You could try a SD-card flash solution but i don't know if you already have the bootloader working.
Try to start your phone without the SD-card ? maybe it might work, it helped some users with boot trouble.

Sorry mare, dont work on my -tried many times. First you not wery good on explaining how to do that. when you mean execute-what is that? press on file, open it , highlite it? no idea.which file exactly(name)
the other thing- where exactly on htc will have to go those 2 folders?- MOBILE DEVICE/my windows based mobile device/storage card....-im not sure its here but thats how you shuld explain.
and at last do you need to unzip contents of those folders on your pc or on your HTC???!-and put them in the same folder or separate?If you could please explaine this one more time, so people will stop asking the same questions many times and maybe more of them (including me ) will make it work.

Is somebody knowing how to unlock HTC TyTn. I tried to follow the instructions for HTC Touch, but does not work. I installed the files as per instructions, and when I run the "Elf_Unlocker" on my PC is saying "This application creaed with nregiseterd version of Quick Batch ile Compiler". After that an empty notepad windows appears and I do not see any code, etc.

Guys, my sincere request to all those who are using this tool to unlock their phones.Please be patient and read through the posts on this thread to see which problems others have faced.There is no point in flooding this thread with the same type of problems.Once properly used, it will give you the code.

Since there are no offorts or money needed to get the tool, atleast spend some 'time' in reading through the instructions and other posts on this thread.

I followed the instructions as in the book ,the code generated did not unlock my htc touch, I used 2 trials and failed,always same code and it does not work.

BTW how many trials have I got left to use?

I thisk I only have only one left to try,then what will hapen after,will my device be locked for ever or what?

I have an HTC Touch form Movistar Spain and I would unlock it for use with orange spain.

I try all your applications and I always obtain the same number: 56395643, but when I insert the Ornage SIM and I introduce the PIN number and after, these unlock number, the system says "The network are locked." and ask again the unlock code.

I tried first of all to enter my code in with my VODAFONE sim in the Touch. This DID NOT unlock my Touch.
I then inserted my T-mobile sim and entered my unlock code, THIS WORKED.

I tried to follow the instructions for HTC Touch, but does not work. I installed the files as per instructions, and when I run the "Elf_Unlocker" on my PC is saying "This application creaed with nregiseterd version of Quick Batch ile Compiler". then i ignored it i went straight to hex editor, the imei i saw there, is not the same with the imei in my device and so the 8 digit number generated there is incorrect, here is the 8digit number generated 37425446. and now its telling me that i have trid 11 times that i should wait for a retry, i have been waiting for over 1hr. now. ( I DID NOT COPY IMEI FROM THE BACK OF THE PHONE, I USED *#06# TO GENERAT IT OK? AND THIS IS MY iMEI 35504601340952301 and I am attaching the screen shot of hex editor so that u can see it and help me aout. NB i edited the screen shot bcos of the size, for me to be able to attach it.

Well, you have to have windows to finish the job, so why not do it all on a PC. I installed activesync, unlocked my phone and removed active sync last night and it took less than 10 minutes.

I only Macs at home, and my work machine is a mac, too.

i had the same but after coppy itsutils.dll ( http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...ename=XdaUtilsin ) to your windows dir on your mobile phone and pdocread.exe in the C:/unlocker folder (where you extracted Elf_Unlocker.zip ) on your pc it worked just fine

with the earlyer unlocker i had the same problem as you did. The imei en unlock code did not change.
Dont forget to run Cert_SPCS.cab (1ST) and then EnableRapi.cab (2end)

I do everything exactly as explained trough all posts (I've read them all 3 times), and I get the code.txt file and in it 8digit number ( 43996268 ) whit some blanks as shown. I've entered this number after replacing the sim card and it just tells me you have tried (each time 1 more) times and I wait a little and then it asks me to type the unlock code again???? by the way I'm from Croatia and the phone is locked to TELE2 network and I'm trying t-mobile. Is there any alternative for us who it doesnt work for(regards to rishi2504 I'm sure he did a great job and this is not a critic just cry for help), or will there ever (hope soon) be???

Anyway, I copied and installed cert and enablerapi files again. run Elf-unlocker and got same code.

I think it does not work with Dutch KPN.

UK Orange phone, just bought from Ebay, want to use UK Voda sim in it, before running this unlock - wouldnt accept the VODA sim and asked for unloack code,

Run the unlock, entered the generated unlock code (from the text file) and now accepts the sim and says UK Vodafone as the service provider.

But if I try to make any calls on it, it just tries to connect then beeps 3 or 4 times in the earpiece without making connection.

New to this model, but had previous experience of this forum flashing other roms on my old HTC Universal.

Any help appreciated.

Just to tell you that I tried this method and it did not work for me. The code is generated is invalid.

I've read the entire thread and tried all the alternative solutions. The phone is still locked to the Portuguese OPTIMUS network and does not accept any other sim cards.

I'm about to try the imei-check.co.uk pay service. Do you have any other sugestions?

Just a few comments about your unlocker:

1) Unlocker needs itsutils.dll and pdocread.exe in folder c:\unlocker otherwise it doesn't work
2) device needs to be RAPI unlocked first
3) unlocker reads 8 bytes starting at offset 0xfc of BK1C, this will work on most touch devices, but not on all, see example output:

What .dll are you talking about? To my knowledge, just install "EnableRapi.cab" & "Cert_SPCS.cab" on the phone, extract "elf_unlocker.exe" to C:\Unlocker on the pc, run it and follow instructions. A txt-file with unlockcode should be generated in the unlocker dir. Insert a sim from another provider, and fill in the generated unlock-code. That's it

If you downloaded the files directly from xda-developers, then your virusscanner is probably giving a false-positive. I don't guarantee it, but I've never had any encounters with viruses on xda-dev. Using NOD32. So I would advise downloading it directly from xda-dev. And also, try extracting elf_unlocker.exe directly into C:\unlocker. Your folder-structure is too complicated (C:\TOUCH UNLOCK FILES\HTC TOUCH UNLOCK FILES\UNLOCKER\ELF_UNLOCKER.EXE)

it works like a charm it is very simple i am using hutch on my htc touch now location mumbai phone was locked to airtel as soon as i did tthe procedure described on page 1 of this thread it generated me a text file and then as soon as i entered the hutch(vodafone) card in the phone, it asked for a unlock code i entered and clicked on unlock it started i called with the phone to check, the phone auto configured itself and asked for a restart i did that and now phone works fine on hutch network

You are right- Activesync does not work on Vista. Vista uses Windows Mobile Device Center which is built into Vista and in my opinion is much better than Activesync. You can also download an update from Microsoft to bring it up to the latest version (6.1 I believe)

Since I was on my 1-week vacation, I thought of working on your problems, and have come up with the updated version of this tool. Hope it resolves all your issues.

You would not get any annoying pop-up with this tool now, only the one that has your unlock code... :)

Steps :
1. Copy 'Cert_SPCS.cab' on your phone & install(run).
2. Copy 'EnableRapi.cab' on your phone & install(run).
3. Establish an Activesync connection with your phone.
4. Unzip the zip file & Run 'Unlock_Touch.exe' on your PC. ( New Unlocker)
5. File 'unlock_code.txt' thus generated will have your unlock code( Eight-digit number).Ignore any other digits if generated.

tried the unlock procedure, but the word doc comes up empty with no unlocking code. no matter if cabs properly installed, and all followed to detail. text file remains empty.

thanks i understand now.. is there a way to unlock SIM. if i'm using ROGERS sim card on a ROGERS HTC Touch. because from what i'm reading from the Elf Blue, i should first unlock my sim first. or is that step redundant because i am using the right sim with the right phone? or do i have to unlock sim first and then flash to elf blue? sorry for all the questions

Just unlocked my T-mobile MDA Touch Plus (= Touch Enhanced with 128/256mb) with it :)
Using it on Telfort now, flawlessly. Now just need to get the T-mobile junk off my phone... and some quality apps on it in stead of that :P

Can someone help me?If it didn't accept the unlockcode when you entered it, with an unsupported sim it would immediately ask for the unlockcode again... so I assume you succesfully unlocked it.
The Touch is a triband phone, not quadband (= Worldwide compatibility). Are you sure your network frequency is supported?
What happens when you try another sim (from wife or friend)?

BTW: I have to commend T-mobile for their work... their Icons and some other T-m junk seems to be located in the main-Rom, not the extended Rom :mad:
Hard reset and then soft-resetting before "device configuration/customization" (prevents ext. rom from installing) is unfortunately not really helping (enough).

Well, it could very well be that they use the same method. But we won't waist time over that :D

I only need to figure out how to use itsme's tool "pdocread" to read 0x10000 bytes from the partition called "BK1A". That file plus a memory dump of 16 bytes from 0xB002709C (DocID) using "pmemdump" allow me to decode the unique *encrypted* 8-digit sim unlockcode.

rishi2504 also uses pdocread to find the *unencrypted* unlockcode by reading 0x28 bytes from offset 0xec from partition "BK1C"

I suppose leaving the unencrypted unlockcode in flash was a bug which HTC fixed in later production series.

So guys just wait until I figured out a way to read the "BK1A" partition. I will drop rishi2504 a PM maybe he will tell me.

Holy crap, I overlooked that you use the touch dual.
It's using the Qualcomm MSM7200 and has a totally different and much harder security model. I'm making progress in cracking my Kaiser (also MSM7200), so you will have to wait for that ....

Are there any known cases where the unlocker didn't work for normal Touch models?
